    Oooooh, I have this!

For a Stage 2 Pokémon, it's a glimmer of hope having an attack with no Energy restriction and altogether having a prerequisite lower than the Pokémon it evolved from. Nail Flick is still nothing to set store by, but it's at least something in the afterglow of Continuous Fireball. For Continuous Fireball, two Energy cards is quite enough to do a horrible amount of damage to the opponent, but for every 50 you manage to do you'll have to throw out one Fire Energy card. Still, the fact that you'll likely have a good reserve of Fire Energy cards in your hand or accessible from the discard pile via Energy Retrieval. This is probably the most Energy-efficient Stage 2 card you'll ever find, although not at face value.

Retro rating 9/10, updated rating 8/10.

Indeed it's a cool card! But it needs a continuous flow of Fire Energy and Energy Retrievals... And the HP is low... but that's the same with all the TR card...

This card was one of the main ones in my old Deck... in combo of card than allow you draw cards you was capable of search quickly Energy Cards and another cards like PC search, Dark Dragonair and Breeder you was capable of have in few turns have this Pokemon charged with 2 or more Fire Energy cards.
The low attack cost and the potential high damage mede than this card one of the most quickly and deadly of all in its time. Even I remebered than friend with quick strategie was capable of win a game in less of five turns Knocking Out to all the opponent's Pokemons.
Obviously the weak point it was the low HP and the water weakness. But personnaly this card still being one of my favorites. 9/10

Well, it's a Charizard, alright--powerful attack with a MAJOR drawback. And that drawback, folks, seems to have been passed over--it doesn't stop when your opponent is KOed. You can have five energies on this guy and you'll have to flip for EACH ONE, regardless of if you're using it on a Poke with only 50 HP left. That of course translates to possible major wastes of energies...and that's why I never used it. It would help if its first attack was stronger...but no, 10 damage on a Stage 2...

    6/10 T, 2/10 A

OMG... Remember, just because a card is called Charizard.. it doesn't make it good. :\

8/10 is insanely high (probably the rating I would give a card like Slowking) definitely definitely definitely not this though.

I'll briefly run through the pros and cons:

    Pros:
    • Potentially unlimited damage for what can be a low amount.
    • Is Dark so can make use of ROckets Hideout and Dark energy (not that this would help much anyway).
    • Evolves from a Good Basic (Charmander)
    • Good Resistance.
    Cons:
    • Low low low low low HP. Even Rockets Hideout won't help this much. By the time its active, it will already have a nice amount of damage meaning that it won't last long at all.
    • Bad Bad Bad Weakness (Blastoise/Suicune ex)
    • Massive Retreat
    • Nail Flick is an awful attack - why its on a Stage 2 I have no idea.
    • Continuous Fireball is the only viable attack. Its energy consuming and entirely luck based. It requires a discard after, so once somethings down, you may still lose energy. Its slow to power and not at all energy efficient.
Put it this way, you have a load of energy on and they send out a low HP basic. You will KO it but lose approx half of your own energy in the process. Most decks run around 15 energies as well, but combined with your opponents ERS, about 10 of these will end up in the discard.
    • AAAARGH! Energy Retrieval is a rubbish option..! Seriously! Use Town Volunteers/ Holon Farmer always.
    • Slow both to get out and put energies on. After a Continuous Fireball then what? Put the energies back on? Hmmm no.
    • Stage 2. Dark Charmeleon is an easy prize for your opponent as well. This will take up an amazing amount of deck space. About 8 slots if you go 3-2-3, not including Rare Candy. By the time you are set up, Sneasel will probably have KOd half of your playing side.
    • Can't use Dark energies effectively. Very Prone to both ER and GoWing for easy prizes.
    • This card takes up so much space, there's little else to run with Dark Charizard to support it.

All I can say is play this card if you feel like losing the majority of your games.
    3.5/10

Seriously, none of the Charizards are any good... except the box topper is somewhat decent, and the ex...

First attack is OMFGWTFBBQ on a stage 2 - 10 damage = WTF... Sceptile (EM) does 30 with a single energy, and he's just 1 of the many of those...
2nd attack is too unreliable and inefficient - what if you flip 3 heads on a 50 HP basic? But at least it's not the only attack...

Also, 80 HP with 3 RC is plain stupid! It's way too low even if retreat is free! (Most Crobats and Beedrills have free retreat and at least 90 HP...)

2.5/10 - Not something I'll ever put in a deck... Not even a fun deck!
