1st gen booster packs

    Anyone remember when the gen 1 boosters were still around... Help me not feel so old? Paying 3.99 for a pack that usually had crap, although, I do remember getting my first holo charizard

    Sorry, man, I really don't. First packs I remember being in stores that I couldn't get because I was all of 9 years old and had no money were the Base Set 2 boosters. I just wasn't aware of booster packs before that point. My early collection was very dependent on gifts from family until I got smarter with my allowance. Also, are you from the US? I don't remember having to pay nearly $4 for a single pack until 2009. I could have sworn the packs were cheaper than that when I first started buying.

    Yes, I'm in the united states. When the initial pokemon boosters first came out, they cost 1.99, but during summer months ( when the kids were out of school ), and holidays ( christmas ), they would shoot up to 3.99, sometimes 4.99 at toys r' us. The only time you could get them less for 2 - 3 bucks was at specialty shops. Hell I remember them going as high as 4.99, and me being annoyed.
