*le sigh* Okay, here's the deal.
Yesterday, the boards were open to staff only so we could search for glitches and errors and make sure everything would be running cleanly for reopening. However, late in the afternoon, Steve's account signed on under a proxy--someone got into it. His is protected, so we couldn't do anything to stop it. Basically, a ton of accounts, many staff included, were deleted along with multiple posts pruned. By the time "Steve" signed off, we were down to 225 members.
However, when Kwesi got on later, he reinstalled the backup he'd installed earlier. The only backup we have is from September 4th, so that's what you're seeing here. We...aren't sure why the member count hasn't been reinstated on the front page, but we'll be doing a recount probably late tonight/early tomorrow (GMT-5) when less people are on since when it was tried earlier in the day, it overloaded the database and lagged/started database errors. :x
But everything's fine now so just ignore it until it's fixed.
