We all know that there are animation (animated films) and real life (the ones that uses a camera) films. Which of the two was your preference? Do you like watching animations over films? Or perhaps the other way around?

For me, I have the preference to watch animation over real life films. My imagination just becomes more wild on animated films. I still like real life films, though. Just not as much as animated films.

    How about you?

'Real life' films are called live-action.

I prefer 2D animation, it's not restricted to the realism of the real world and has a charm that CGI won't replace. True though a lot of films of both kinds use CG effects nowadays... it's the ones that don't that I love, seeing all different the ways filmmakers would come up with to make something work (or not, ha) on-screen.

Animation. It's more comedic and I just love the plot lines (eg: Despicable Me, one of my absolute favourites). :3

As pretentious as this is going to make me sound, I just like good films, irrespective of the medium they're filmed in. Live-action and animated films can both fall to the same trappings of bad plot, poorly written characters, awful production values etc. but both mediums can offer profoundly different experiences. Animation can allow the filmmakers' imagination to run wild and create new and fantastic settings and situations unavailable in the real world; live-action films can use acting and editing to its highest potential giving a profound dramatic experience. I don't necessarily prefer one over the other, so like them equally.

Pretty much what Mr Cat Dog said...
The only difference is, I sort of have expectations that animated films, especially the Disney and Dreamworks ones, to be good movies, so I tend to see a lot of them (close to all) that come out at the cinemas. I will do similar thing for real life films, but yeah, I just know I can trust those big name animated films more than real life films I feel sometimes...

Definitely like them both though, as long as they are made well.

I like animation shows because they're usually funny. I watch a few real life shows, like Big Bang Theory, or How I Met Your Mother, however.

I way prefer live action films over animated ones. I feel you can relate more to live action films, they are more serious and can absorb viewers into the film a lot better. I just can't take a lot, if any, animated films seriously, and although they are more comedic, I like to be drawn in and engaged in films rather than just viewing it.
