I made this for our Writer's Dex and it wasn't meant to be anything serious. I wanted to try an unconventional approach to poetry concerning rhyme schemes. Most rhyme schemes are two or four rhymes long, but I wanted to see if I could make a poem with a rhyme scheme of three. It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to, but this was more for fun than anything. So, here's a little tale I like to call:
The selfish Helioptile
There once was a Helioptile,
That was ever so vile.
Being nice just wasn't his style.
He took what he wanted,
"All this stuff", he flaunted,
"I took totally undaunted!"
All the pokemon that he had angered,
Came together and gathered.
For Helioptile, who would soon be battered.
Helioptile turned and fled,
Away from his home and bed.
He didn't even have time to pack some bread.
Helioptile ran for days on end,
Then, stopped on a river bend.
The situation he now did comprehend.
He thought about all that he had done,
And now from his home, he was shun.
His heart filled up and weighed a ton.
He looked up at the sky,
And for a moment, began to cry.
To make things up, he would try.
So, he decided to go back,
To get his life back on track.
Walking back without a hint of slack.
He came back to his desert home,
Looking for all the pokemon, he did roam.
The area, he did comb.
All the pokemon were eventually found,
But Helioptile's arms and legs were soon bound.
They didn't listen to Helioptile's sound.
It seemed they didn't forget,
All the items Helioptile kept.
And his life, was now in debt.
So they threw him into a pit of lava.
Now the lesson here to be learned,
Is make sure all your stuff you've earned,
Or you might get burned.
