| THE STORY |​

The country divided, currently stands at a point of civil war between two factions. Otherwise a peaceful region, Sinnoh tends to be full of tension nowadays. King Tasmus' quest for power has finally begun, leaving many to wonder what fate rests in their king's hands. His father has given up the throne due to his old age and sickness, and has left his power-lusting son in charge of the country, along with his plans to create the Sinnoh he longs for. Although his intent is not violent, his motives are still unclear to many of the inhabitants of Sinnoh. Many people may see him a gutless coward, while others may see him as a potentially decent king. As a direct result shortly after the crowning of Tasmus however, various rebellion groups formed, as an attempt to stop any invading forces led by Tasmus himself, so it may be that more people consider him to be the country's downfall rather than their saviour. Considered a felony and treason, many resistance groups have been captured and punished, forcing to lead a life of hard labor, shame, and locked up in prison.

Mt. Coronet, the massive spine of mountains splitting right through the country, is the dividing point of Sinnoh. As of now, most high risk criminals get sent to Coronet Prison, as well as rebellion groups of the such. Tasmus' castle, known as the Bronze Palace, being located on the far eastern side of the country, is his current whereabouts. Preferring to sit back on his throne while controlling the country behind the scenes by pulling all the strings, he's a man that would prefer not to get his own hands dirty. However, with many of his soldiers on duty at various towns and villages, one can be sure that he has eyes seeing every move even when he's not present.

| THE SETTING & YOUR CHARACTER |​

This RP takes place in 'ancient' Sinnoh. I put that quotes, because obviously it's not going to be so ancient where everyone is living in huts, so it's sort of a loose term. I'm not going to give an exact time period (This is so I can leave more up to the imagination). You will play as a character who may have been affected by the civil war in some way or another (keep in mind, the King has not done raids, nor does he kill innocent people). You are not a knight, nor a member of a rebellion group, but instead a regular civilian. You may be going to school for something, working, or maybe even just doing nothing at all except mooch off your rich parents and live the life of having fun. Your character will soon realize that they will be caught up in one of the most life-changing events.

Since the RP takes place in ancient Sinnoh, there of course going to be some changes to the world of Pokemon. Firstly, there are going to be added towns/villages in Sinnoh that are not present within the games, along with name changes to some of the pre-existing locations. They are as follows (list is excluding new locations):

• Jubilife City, or often referred to as the Commercial City of Jubilife
• Oreburgh Valley & Oreburgh Mines
• Floaroma Valley
• Eterna Valley
• Hearthome Town
• Solcaeon Village
• Veilstone Canyon/Veilstone Cliff
• Pastoria Marsh
• Celestic Village
• Canalave Bay
• Snowpoint Valley
• Sunnyshore Bay

There are also no modern Pokemon trainers or gyms of the such in this RP, nor are there Pokeballs. Instead, a Pokemon must be befriended for someone to own one, and it usually follows its owner everywhere they go, unless left at home. Some knights/soldiers fight alongside their Pokemon war, although it is not encouraged for them to fight in war. Instead, Pokemon battles still do exist in this RP, and even now, considered to be a sort of sport and a good pastime. At the start of the RP, your character will already own a Pokemon, whether it is a family Pokemon, or their own. Your character will be able to befriend more Pokemon as the RP progresses, but will use their first Pokemon as their main Pokemon. There will also be many, many times when your character will need to fight alongside your Pokemon, in which case your character will need to choose a weapon.

Many Legendary Pokemon in this RP don't exist yet. Such as Mewtwo, Genesect, as well as other man-made Pokemon such as the Porygon line. Arceus only exists in legend, and most of the other legendaries (Groudon, Kyogre, Palkia, Dialga, etc.) are only stories. Lesser legendary Pokemon such as the birds, do exist, however for RP purposes they cannot be seen until I say so (or they probably won't be seen anyways). Also note, that some Pokemon are also considered to be 'rare', more specifically Dragon type Pokemon. I'm not saying that you can't have a Dragon-type, I'm just saying that they are rare. Same goes with Fairies. Pokemon Centres do not exist, but instead are known as 'clinics'. As in regards to food, only some Pokemon are edible. Mostly fish Pokemon, such as Magikarp, Goldeen, Krabby, etc. Lesser animals also exist, such as small fish and small insects. With that said, this RP is not really sandbox, but there will be many times when you will be able to go out and do whatever you want.

| BATTLE RULES |​

Let's get down to battles rules shall we. If your character decides to have a Pokemon battle with another RPer, I have some rules you must follow. Firstly, we are following the games in terms of accuracy level of moves. So if it has 100% hit rate, then it's always going to hit your Pokemon. Secondly, you only have three dodges per battle. If you want more dodges, than use up a moveslot for an evasion attack, or lower your opponent's accuracy. That's pretty much it. In terms of Pokemon's power, we are not going to be following the games (such as level and stats), however some level of common sense should be used. For example, a Pikachu is probably not going to defeat a Dragonite without the help of other Pokemon. Potions and other hand made items do not exist in the RP, however berries, gems, and other similar items are available and can be used during battle. And since we are on the topic of items, only I can give permission to give you items, or you must ask me if you can find one/buy one. There are available through means such as gifts, can be found/bought, and occasionally I may just tell you that you can get an item.

• All forum rules apply
• No god-modding/bunnying
• Please stay active. I know, life gets in the way of stuff, but please let me know if something happens. If you plan to be away, let me know and we'll sort something out.
• This is rated T, which means some language is allowed (Even then, be weary. No F-bombs!), romance, and obviously violence. No Gore though. This is not a horror movie. Blood to some extent is allowed, such as being attacked by a wild Pokemon, or getting punched in the nose or something along those lines. Don't go around slicing people's stomach and watching their guts come out and then roasting them on an open fire.
• No Mega-evolutions until later on in the RP.
• Six is the maximum move limit, otherwise your Pokemon will need to forget a move to learn a new one.
• Not really a rule, but have fun!

Twinleaf Town

Avant Ayers



"Hey, get up. Why do you always sleep until nearly noon every day?" A long, brown haired girl nudged her brother Avant, in attempt to awake him from his slumber.

"…Hey…I do what I want…besides, I have a lot of free time since dad has been taking my shifts down at the mill." Avant yawned, rubbing his booger encrusted eyes and then stretching out his limbs. "…And why are you still here? Don't you have to be annoying somewhere else?" Avant sat upright on his bed, with a blanket still covering his bottom part of his body. His eyes were still half opened, but he could see Laela, his sister, sit down on the bed next to him.

"Ha-ha, you're so funny." She said sarcastically. "I wanted to tell you I was going to go out with some friends, but I set up some leftovers for you to eat. Oh yeah, and mom made a list of things you need to go the market place to buy. Okay?" Avant just nodded at his sister. "Alright, I'll see ya later! I'll be back tonight!" Avant waited until his sister left the room, and then finally plopped his body back onto the bed and stared above. Man…there's nothing to do now that I get so many breaks… He lay there for a few minutes, until he felt his bed move with a thump.

"Ay…Root…cut it out." He rolled over and pet his Bulbasaur, which let out a soft and playful growl. He did that for a few more seconds, until finally getting up, and doing his morning business.

"Alright, let's see. Leftovers. Great." Avant spoke in a monotonous voice. He wasn't too fond of getting leftovers, but he needed to eat, and was starving. He sat and looked at his plate that his sister put on the table for him, and couldn't even make out what was on it. Avant had eaten at a local café for dinner last night, so he wasn't too sure on what his family had eaten, but judging from what was on the plate, it was a brown chunk of meat, which Avant thought would be Tauros meat, along with mashed potatoes, some vegetables, and finished off with some fruit and oats in a separate bowl. Overall it was a rather bland meal, but it would definitely fill him up. "And I can see, that they already fed you." Avant looked at Root, who had an empty bowl sitting in front of him, along with a few smears of food across its lips. Avant sighed, quietly eating his meal, whilst glancing out the kitchen window nearby every so often.

Walking down a stone road in a field of grass, Avant was making his way to the downtown marketplace of Twinleaf. It was the place to go for bustling activity, eating fresh fruit and baked goods as well as a good time killer. Moomoo Milk, bread, vegetables…yup. The usual. He scrolled his down the list in his hand, while holding a large empty black bag in the other. From he could tell, it was just the usual that needed picking up. "…Saur." Root trotted next to Avant, sniffing the ground along the way. "First stop, bread." As the two finally approached a few stands here and there, they were beginning to enter the marketplace, which was often distinguishable from the many shops set up as well as aromas and fragrances of various foods. However, Avant noticed something odd. Stopping to look around, he noticed it wasn't too busy, but there were still a fair amount of people walking around as you would expect. But that wasn't the unusual part. There's an awful lot of soldiers from the palace… Getting distracted from the task at hand, he noticed that there were numerous Bronze Soldiers walking around, while others were just standing there. Avant noticed them, from their distinctive bronze-colored armor they wore, which showed their loyalty to Tasmus. Did the King send them? He shook his head. He was thinking too hard. They are probably just there for security. Artus snapped out of his train of thought, finally getting back to the grocery list. "Hmmm…I think there's a good place." Avant pointed, spotting a bakery stand from across the street and running over, with Root following behind. Stopping in front of the booth, Avant was greeted with a warm smile from an old lady from behind the booth.

"And what can I get you?" The old lady asked. Her voice was a bit raspy, but it still sounded gentle. Avant scratched his chin, and looked at the various breads, while Root tried to cop a taste by quietly jumping up.

"Ehhh…just gimme two loaves, of that bread." Avant pointed at a brown loaf in the display case in front. The lady nodded, as she bent down from behind the booth and pulled out two loaves sealed in a thin sheet. Artus nodded and smiled, pulling a few coins and placing them on the counter in front of the lady. "Alright, thanks!" He said enthusiastically. He put both of them into his bag, but not before opening one of them and placing a slice in his mouth to munch on while he walked around. Hmmm…that tastes good. "Do you want some, Root?" Avant continued to walk down the marketplace. "Root?" Looking around, he realized his green Pokemon had vanished! "Oh, he better not get into any trouble."

Lana DeMino - Twinleaf Town​

Lana smiled softly as she walked down the streets of Twinleaf Town. The feeling of the sun's warmth on her skin was absolutely fantastic, and everyone around her seemed to have a smile on their face. On a whole, it really looked as if the town would have been quite the pleasant place to live if she were of the more... commercial-dependent form of living. That said, Lana could never imagine giving up her life with her family.

"It's almost lunch time, isn't it Melody?" the gypsy girl asked, glancing down at the Igglybuff who was nestled snugly into her arms. The round, pink Pokémon glanced back up as Lana spoke, offering a bright smile back at the girl. "I think some bread would be a nice lunch, yes... That said, I really don't know where the bakery is... A lot of these signs are pretty difficult to make out..."

The girl glanced about all the buildings as she walked, trying to make out just what was inside some of them. It was a task that was a bit more easier said than done, and for good reason. For starters, the girl did not actually know how to read. It was not because she was too stupid to learn or any reason such as that. Rather, the girl just never really found herself needing to know how. She and her family more often than not lived off the land and in nature, a place where reading, currency, and the like served no real purpose. In retrospect, Lana realized that this may have very well been one of those times where reading proved to be a bit more of a useful skill... but she had the feeling that she would manage just fine.

And it just so happened that that feeling was right.

At that moment, a most delicious scent began to waft through the air, quickly catching the attention of both Lana and Melody. Glancing down at her Pokémon, the gypsy girl giggled as a rather hungry look came to the Igglybuff's eyes. She followed the scent to a nearby building, glancing inside the window quietly to see a baker inside pulling a fresh loaf from the oven.

"It looks like we've come to the right place, Melody," Lana said. She carefully placed the delicate Pokémon on top of a nearby barrel before giving her a gentle pat on the head. "Let's go to work and earn us a meal."

Lana took a few steps away from the barrel and looked over her shoulder at Melody. She gave the Igglybuff a small nod before she began to slowly and gracefully move her body in a form of dance. As on cue, Melody began to sing a small tune as Lana danced. The Igglybuff's voice was soft, but it indeed carried a light and jolly tune.​

"Light is always better when you soak in it."​

Standing at a stall, in the midst of Twinleaf's Bazaar was the exceptional odd youth; Sirius Elpis. With a contagious laughter and a grin as wide as the sky, he thanked the young man that bagged his medicine and potions. The Bazaar, or more commonly known as the downtown market, was a moderately spacious area. It was filled with citizens going about whatever business they had and was surely cramped and crowded.

Sirius turned from the stall, his lips parting slightly as he thought about the best way to not be consumed by the mob. It was at this moment that he finally realized why mother never sent Addy, the crowd was more like a ocean of splashing Magikarps than respectful beings. He wore a challenging grin as he cracked his neck from one extreme to the next.

Kay! Challenge accept! He thought.

Gracefully, Sirius stepped into the crowd and with a chipper tune resounding in his head he sauntered through the ins and outs that laid between the citizens. It wasn't until his emerald eyes had met another shade of green -lost in the crowd of inattentive people- did Sirius change his direction.

For a moment, the crowd that had so blandly walked the Bazaar's path, like a wall of flesh and muscle, had split with little choice in the matter. Sirius was crouched on the toes of his feet, his head cocked at the image of a lost Bulbasaur. He looked around for a moment, a concern expression dulling the green of his eyes. Looks too groomed to be a stray, guess you're just lost. Quickly, he ended up guiding Pokemon out of the crowd and near a stall that was near the entrance to the Bazaar.

He smiled at the Pokemon and rubbed the side of its bulb gently before trotting backwards down the path towards his home. "You be safe, alright? I'm sure your owner'll come looking for you." And with that he turned his back on the Pokemon with optimistic hopes for its future.

As he trekked up the dirt path to his home, still a few miles away, Sirius could see Goro wobbling to greet him. The Pokemon held a large piece of timber in her jaws and was gnawing away at it like a Arcanine's bone. "We're playing when I drop this off so don't get lazy on me later." Sirius told her, but she ignored his presence and continued pass him.

For a moment, Sirius pondered where she was heading, than his curiosity getting the best of him, decided to follow. He put the bag of medicine in a tall overgrowth of grass near the fence keeping the farm Pokemon at bay, then dutifully followed behind his Goro, back towards the Bazaar.​

Thomas was just waking up in the tree house, with Ella already awake and prepping some breakfast. This was always how the day went, with Ella making breakfast, both of them getting lunch together, and Thomas hunting alone for dinner. Ella had made a small fire on a flat stone outside the house, and was cooking some eggs. From the look of them, they were from Ella's pokemon, Rose. Rose is a togetic, who has a disability to lay fertilized eggs, so they never hatch. Rose does not mind that Ella cooks them, as she has no use for eggs that will never hatch. "Morning, El. Hello, Rose." Thomas called out to them. Lucy was still asleep at the base of the tree, but hearing Thomas, she woke up. She let out a small yawn, and waited for Thomas to climb down. When he jumped down the last few feet, Lucy ran over to him and started licking his leg. "Lucy! Come on, cut it out girl!" Thomas said teasingly. "Thomas! Come and eat your breakfast!" Ella called out. Thomas sat down on the ground, grabbed a stone that was used as a plate, and took some of the egg. using a stick that has been sharpened into a fork, Thomas quickly ate his part of the egg, not before Lucy ate a bite of it. "Lucy, you know you are not supposed to do that." Thomas said as he smiled. Thomas stood up, grabbing his hunting equipment, and headed into the woods, followed by Lucy.

Heading to the first net trap he set last night, he found that it had caught a simple caterpie quite recently, as it was still squirming in the trap. "Lucy! If you want it, go ahead." He called to her as he freed the caterpie, knowing it would probably not live even if Lucy did not eat it. He reset the trap, and Lucy stayed behind, pawing at the caterpie.

The second net trap had caught a cherubi, and it was fainted from exhaustion due to struggling. freeing it, he rapped it in a rope, and waited for Lucy to catch up as he reset his trap. As Lucy ran back up to him after leaving the caterpie, and Thomas tied the cherubi to her. "There. That light enough, girl?" Lucy nodded at him. Walking to the last net trap, which was in the water that branched off the lake.

The last trap held 4 magicarps together, which were still splashing in the water, unable to escape. Using a branch that had a long hook through it, Thomas pierced their tails one after another, making them stuck together, before tying them with a rope. Resetting the magicarp trap, he used the stick that held them by their tails to hold them over his shoulder, he walked back towards his house.

Climbing a tree that was out of sight with Lucy on his other shoulder, Thomas walked across bridges made of branches to the back of his house and went in the back door so that he would not be spotted with his captured pokemon. Putting the magikarps in a barrel that collects rainwater, Thomas un-hooked and un-tied them. Taking the cherubi off of Lucy, he tied in to a post for now. "El! how long have I been gone today?" He called out to Ella as he peeked out the door. Ella looked up from playing with Rose. "About two hours. Your getting a bit faster!" She called up. Climbing up the tree, Ella took a look at today's catch, and seemed pleased with the Cherubi. "Finally! Something healthy that is not a magikarp!" Normally, things caught in the traps are small and weak, like caterpies. "It is okay, I guess. What are we going to do with it today?" Thomas asked curious about the plan. "Rose found some sitrus and oran berries today. We could have a soup." Ella said while examining the magikarp.

Getting ready to make the salad, Thomas approached the tied up cherubi, with a knife in his hands. Carefully cutting off the bulb, with Lucy standing by in case it wakes up. "El! Catch the bulb!" Thomas called out as he tossed it down to Ella. She caught it, and added it to the soup she was making. Rose came up the ladder, and used wish on the cherubi, causing it to grow back. repeating this a few time, the fruit soup was soon finished, and cherubi was released, and it was fine. Sitting down to eat the sweet soup, using the pot and bowls their mother had before. Lucy and Rose shared a bowl of it, as there was only three bowls in the set. Laying back in the grass, Thomas thought that life could not get any better.

Twinleaf Town- Bazaar

Somewhere among one of the many businesses set up in Twinleaf's Bazaar, the sharp metallic clang of iron reverberated, in a beat that almost followed that of an average person's heart. It was frequent enough to not die out amongst the chatter within the area, and had even caught interest of one or two, who watched the one causing the noise. The one in question, was a Machop, who had just finished molding a thin long lump of metal into shape, before giving it to who appeared to be his companion.

The brown-haired youth with dark green eyes, had been quick to accept it, holding the piece of metal over the furnace of a traveling forge, where it began to change. The piece of metal had slowly glowed from a deep orange, into an almost brilliant white, before it was hammered into shape again, once it had been deemed hot enough. It took control and the right amount of strength to do it right, especially when there was a person waiting for it to be done. After perfectly mending it into the right shape, Darren had handed over his finished work.

It was a katana, and had these things not been a common request in the region, he would have been suspicious about needing to craft it. As lively as Twinleaf Town was, compared to his hometown in Oreburgh Valley, his opinion of the town had still not changed. Underneath all of those seemingly pleasant smiles, in his eyes, the townsfolk was just a harborer of rebellious groups, just waiting to surface and hinder progress of the region's growth. Why else would there be so many bronze soldiers walking around this supposedly serene town?

Wiping the sweat that was running down from his brow, Darren watched as the man that had requested his service, finally looked up from a personal inspection. "Very well done, and an entertaining sight as well. I'll be sure to spread the news of your work." That had been one variation of someone who complimented his work, and just like the last few, they had noted his Machop mimicking his actions, along with the promise of spreading word. While the promise had been true to word, as business had been decent, he was sure it was just flattery.

He wasn't the only blacksmith in the Bazaar, and while he did take pride in his own work, he knew it couldn't have been that good. The materials he used were fairly common amongst blacksmiths, and wasn't even the kind of quality he knew those bronze soldiers had. Not to mention that none of those soldiers had actually requested his service, which was when he would actually believe the compliments to be actually sincere. "Thank you, we appreciate your request." He had said to the man with a bow, his Machop mimicking his action.

His words were only half true, while Malin, his Machop, had been truthful enough to drive away any air of his hostility. The man had left with a chuckle, and as he did, Darren would mutter a few bitter words underneath his breath, before hopping back onto his stool. "Yeah, whatever." What he truly felt about all of these compliments. Malin had heard it, and muttered the same thing in his pokespeak, but it came out less hostile, than what the Machop was likely aiming for. He had to smile at that. It was hard not to, really.

The little guy was still the same as he always had been, even with this whole little civil war going on. "Hey, mister!" He patted the Machop on the head, before he had heard a small voice call for his attention, Darren turning to see two kids he was sure were siblings. Both of them had their arms crossed ontop of his stand's wooden counter, where their heads had laid, as they looked at him with innocence only a child could possess. Of course, even little children had their roles in being suspicious, and a pair of them together made it even more obvious.

If he had to guess, they were beggars, one with too much dignity to be wearing ragged clothes. While he didn't really mind these types, this was still a business, and he didn't really carry food on him anyway. He was pretty sure he even forgot to eat earlier, just to finish up his work. "I don't have any food on me you know." Darren had blatantly told them, the two kids smiling innocently in response. "What do you mean?" It was the sister who had said this, which meant that the one who had called for his attention, had been the brother.

"We were just going to tell you, we've noticed you've been working all morning..."
"And that you and Machop should take a lunch break."

The two siblings had talked after the other had, which was really only proving his point, that they were smarter than they were trying to let on. What they said had been true though, and given away by his Machop, who was carefree enough to express what he was too serious to do. The Pokemon was rubbing his belly and nodding in agreement to what they were proposing, which made him sigh, as he looked at the two smiling kids. "Alright, I appreciate the concern, which will be taken care of shortly. Is that all you kids needed?"

He watched them nod their heads, before taking their leave, towards what Darren had saw was another stall a bit away from here. The person who was setting it up, had their back turned against him, so there was no way they saw what had happened to him. It wasn't his problem though, not unless he heard something having to do with one of those rebellion groups, which was not likely. Standing up from his stool and taking off his apron and gloved hand, he put up a sign stating he was on a break, before leaving the stand with Malin.

A black cape had now hung over his shoulder and held by a special strap, flying behind him lightly as he walked through the Bazaar with his Machop. He had been in this town long enough to know the bakery brought out fresh bread around this time, which would make a decent lunch, with some Moomoo milk. As he had headed in the direction, he had seen an interesting, yet odd sight. A Gible was heading towards the Bazaar, with a fellow following after the Pokemon. Dragon types were quite the rare sight, so seeing this one was quite the treat.

"You there, have the time to chat? That Gible there is quite the sight. Might I be able to hear how you've become acquainted with the dragon?" He and Malin had gone over to the duo, with his Machop continuing to mimic his posture and speech. "Don't mind Malin here, it's just a habit of his he's fond of performing."

Sirius Elpis
Twinleaf Town - Twinleaf Bazaar​

"Come ooonnn, Goro. Let's play a little..." Whined Sirius while marching a foot or two behind the Gible. His hands were intertwined behind his head, acting as a headrest as he stepped at the slow pace that Goro's wobble carried her. Well, it wasn't like this was the first time her little escapades had carried him away from his destination. She was a fickle and ditsy little dragon-type and more often then not, Sirius was to blame for willingly following behind her.

She seemed intent on following the path back into town and even more so on gnawing the thick lumber in her mouth with renewed vigor. Like a kid, Sirius fixed his lips into a pout and slouched his straightened back slightly. "Fine then, be that way." He muttered under his breath, turning his head towards sky. With that he absentmindedly followed behind her and simultaneously drifted into his own world of artistry.

A world where everything was a bit duller and orange, where his mind could drift away without worry or fear. His imagination had been his shelter for most of his life and had proved to be more of a best friend than expected. It barges in without forewarning and completely takes over whenever it imposes its company. His mind became filled with the images of dragon Pokemon swarming the skies, although the visual was hectic, perhaps even chaotic; it still offered its own kind of amazement. Gigantic torches of blue and red crossed paths as they roared into existence, claiming their territories and forcing a... relative, kind of peace on others.

In his head, he envisioned a Dragonite ruling the very air it flew on, the way its audible screeches would terrorize other Pokemon that stood no chance against it. He shuddered at the thought. But couldn't help that the shiver was one of excitement and not fear. His emerald eyes fell on the back of his Gible; his current thoughts could only be directed towards her after all.

One day... He thought, a foolhardy grin stretching across his face. Hehe, one day you'll be a mighty dragon too. I wonder if you'll object to me riding you.

It wasn't until he noticed a pair standing in front of him had he realized they had made it back to the bazaar. Sirius found his light-green eyes looking at dark combo of the same. While he had the small amount of decency to halt, Goro had her mind set on something else. She continued forwards, walking around the two without skipping a beat in her own wobble.

Sirius looked around the male, first from the left then to the right. "G-Goro!" He called out, waving his hand to get the Gible's attention. Once he noticed her stop at unattended stall, one that had steel rods and a burning furnace, it had all clicked. He should had known she would smell the heated steel on a day like today.

Without regard for the male, he pushed him aside with a firm shove. "Pardon me," He uttered, ignoring them for the most part as he walked over to the empty stall. Goro probably just wanted some steel to chew on, that lumber had been riddled with her sharp-tooth marks, if he had to guessed he'd say she'd spent all of two hours with it... maybe less.

Looking around Sirius could only guess that they had been on break or something. "Eh, I think their on break, Goro."

She responded with a disappointed whine and a jump over the counter that she couldn't quite muster. The sight made him cringe inward with sadness and easily persuaded him to find another method of getting her precious steel. "No worries Goro," He told her, placing his foot on the counter and starting to climb over. "I'll just grab a piece and leave the money on the counter. That'll due dontcha think?"​

Samuel Millback
Twinleaf Town - Samuel's Home

"Stay safe, sweetie! Keep Hazel near you at all times! And watch out for Ursarings!" Samuel's mother called out to him from their backyard, giving him her pre-hunt warnings as usual. Samuel was used to his mother being overly cautious, as it was in her nature. The only reason she willingly let him go was because of his partner, Hazel.

"Alright, I'll be fine, don't worry!" He yelled back to her from the treeline near the back of his house. Hazel waved back to Samuel's mother gleefully before disappearing in the growth along with Samuel. After walking for what felt like forever, the two eventually entered into a clearing of sorts, with lush grass and tall, lonesome trees towering over them. Samuel took his satchel off behind a bush at the edge of the clearing and opened it up, taking out a couple jars of sweet Honey, an assortment of wild berries, his bow, and several arrows.

"Phan, Phantump!" Hazel cheered as she opened up on of the jars of honey and dug her small hands into it. She then stuffed her honey-coated hands into her mouth and sucked it off, reminiscing in the sweet, gooey, goodness of the honey which she loved so much. Samuel quickly took the jar away from her before she could get another glob.

"Ok, that's enough, Hazel. You can have more after we're done hunting. Remember, we need this honey to attract some Pokemon." Samuel lightly scolded. The Phantump pouted and crossed her arms in a child like manner, but Samuel knew she would knock it off eventually, like every other time they went hunting. He went over to the middle of the clearing with the jar of honey and approached one of the large trees. Samuel dug his hand into the jar, similar to how Hazel did earlier. He took his hand and smeared the honey onto the brittle bark, the inviting aroma spreading through the air of the clearing.

Samuel quickly ran back behind the bush and hid as to not be seen by any potential game. "Alright, go on. You know what to do." He whispered to Hazel, still in a grumpy mood. She reluctantly floated over to the tree, eyeing up the honey smeared on the tree. Her expression immediately changed as she yelled at the top her lungs in a cheerful tone. "Phaaaan! Phantum tump!" Her singsong screams echoed as she danced around, waving her arms frantically, trying to get some kind of attention. After all, the sooner this was over, the sooner she would get her honey.

Hazel continued for a solid 10 minutes, which at that point, she was exhausted. Samuel waited, peaking through the bushes, waiting for something to come by. After all, he couldn't go home empty handed. He was the man of the house, he had to provide, and he has been for a while now. Samuel wasn't ready yet at the age he was forced to be, but he had no other choice. With his father imprisoned and most likely dead, he...

Samuel's train of thought came to a screeching halt when he heard some rustling in the bushes. He picked up his bow and looked at Hazel to see that she...was licking the honey off the tree! He opened his mouth to yell at her to knock it off, but he quickly stopped himself as to not startle the potential game. He let her keep at it, as a figure came out of the bushes.

Samuel had expected a swarm of Combee, perhaps a Wurmple or two, maybe even a Stantler if he was lucky. But what had came out of those bushes was something much, much worse. Finally, as the Pokemon was right behind Hazel, he realized what he had to do.

"HAZEL! RUN!" He warned her, quickly grabbing her attention.

"Phan?" She muttered, turning her head towards the bush where Samuel was before turning around. Her happy-go-lucky expression on her honey smeared face went to total shock as she looked up at the Pokemon behind her. An Ursaring was standing there, hungry enough to eat the honey off of the tree, or better yet, Hazel.

Twinleaf Town - Twinleaf Bazaar/Marketplace

Avant Ayers


Finding some vegetables at a nearby produce stand, Avant had almost forgotten that Root had run off somewhere. "Hmmm…he sure is a strange one." Avant pondered, as he put the bag of fruit and veggies into his carrying sack, wondering what to do next, as he pretty much finished his errands.

"Oh? You're talking to yourself? I don't think that's healthy." A female's voice said. Avant turned to his side and saw a young woman, a little older than himself, holding a berry in her hand, observing it. Avant just looked, as she started to hum, and he slowly turned away, beginning to walk in the opposite direction back to the street of the marketplace. There would always be those few people that would just creep the heck out him, but he made sure he kept away from them as much as possible. Ahhh…Where is that little bugger? Although Root was Avant's Pokémon, his parents and sisters would often get upset when he happened to…'misplace' the young Pokémon. Bumping into a few people trying to find him, Avant was sure that his Pokémon would eventually find his way home, so he wasn't too worried. But it still made him a bit uneasy whenever he ran off somewhere. Walking along the street, the entrance to the main district was right next Avant, where a green figure caught the corner of his eye. Cocking his head to the side, Avant found his Bulbasaur! "Root?! Where did you go?" Avant jogged up to the booth, where a lady was standing behind the counter.

"Is this Bulbasaur yours?" She asked. Avant nodded. "Well, a nice, young man returned him here for you. I wish I would have gotten his name for you." She shrugged. Avant just smiled, and pet Root, who jumped down from the counter and sat next to Avant, and gave playful growl.

"It's fine, thanks." He smiled, as the two of them tried to retrace their steps back out of the marketplace. "Well, we don't have much to do, so maybe kill some time?" Avant asked Root. He obviously wasn't expecting an answer, but it was fun to talk to him. Looking across the street, they saw a small group of people circling around a blue-haired girl who was putting on a dance performance of sorts, with what Avant assumed to be her Igglybuff, singing and providing the music behind her. He walked on over, noticing that people were clapping with a beat, but Avant just watched. He didn't care too much about buskers, but it was sometimes nice to just watch them do their thing. From the way she was dressed, and the way she danced he could tell she was no stranger to performing. A few people were leaving a pile of coins right in front of her Igglybuff, who was standing on top of a barrel. Huh…It's like they say. If you are good at something, never do it for free. Although one could argue that the girl could have been dancing for the pleasure of the citizens, as it was not required for them to tip her.

"Saur..." Root looked upon the Igglybuff that stood on the barrel, acting as its stage. There was no other Pokémon back at Avant's house, so Root often played with whomever he could find in the town, regardless of what kind of Pokémon it was. "Hey, Root, what are you doing?" Avant asked. He saw Root casually walking through people in front of them, and just stood near the barrel, with its head faced upwards, staring at the Igglybuff. He wasn't doing anything that would have jeopardized or screwed up their performance, plus he was still a safe distance away from the girl. Oh man… Avant gave himself a facepalm, and lowered his head in shame. It didn't look like anyone noticed his Bulbasaur, but if anything, Root just looked like one of those 'stalker-ish' stray Pokémon.

Astrid Arkwright considered herself to be an avid reader. Anyone who knew her (her mother and her Pokemon, that is) would likely agree. Each day, Astrid would spend a around five hours sitting comfortably on her bed in her room, reading a different tome each time. So avid was she, in fact, that she could usually finish any book within this time frame. Sometimes she would read a series of novellas instead of the larger novel, but regardless of size or quantity, it would never take her more than five hours to live out the adventures or absorb the knowledge within a book. Her favorites by far were fiction, but every now and then she enjoyed learning about her own world by reading informational books.

Today, however, Astrid had decided to spice things up with a book on philosophy. For no other reason than her curiosity having been piqued after spying it at the bookstore. Without a second thought, she'd gone and bought the hefty book, and now set about to reading it. Astrid had just started a paragraph expanding on the nature of humanity when she suddenly became distracted – something was pulling at the bed sheets.

"Pan! Cham!" came the familiar grumpy voice of Wiley. Looking down over the side of the bed, Astrid met the Pancham's annoyed expression.

"Yes?" she asked coldly. She was used to his attitude by now, and had learned that acting concerned or equally irritated in return only served to further aggravate the little Fighter. The best response, she figured, was a stern one.

Wiley's form seemed to emanate anger as he stomped his foot on the ground loudly.

"Wiley, behave!" came a voice from downstairs. Marian had no doubt heard the Pancham's tantrum beginning.

"Cham," he spat, crossing his arms and turning his back to Astrid.

"You want to go out for a walk or something?" Astrid guessed. She'd learned from experience that when Wiley got mad for seemingly no reason, there was actually a reason he couldn't communicate.

"Pan!" The Pancham raised his arms into the air as if he was saying 'finally!' and turned to face his owner once more. Astrid gave a slight chuckle as she nodded.

"Alright, alright," she said as she got up, setting her book aside. She was disappointed that she'd had to stop just as she was getting to the good part, but it was better than having her room wrecked in a temper tantrum.

Astrid proceeded towards her closet and picked out something at random: a plain blue dress with a lighter blue wave pattern stitched elegantly around the torso area. Putting it on, she began to make her way downstairs, Wiley following close behind.

"Oh, are you going out?" Marian asked as her daughter passed by the dinner table. Astrid only nodded in response.

"Could you pick up some groceries for me? We're almost out." She extended a hand containing several coins. "This should suffice."

Astrid took the coins and said goodbye to her mother, but noticed that Wiley had once again become visibly angry as they stepped out the door.

"What is it now?" she asked impatiently.

"Pancham!" he exclaimed as he pointed in front of him, towards the crowds of people going about their daily lives in the street.

"Cham, pan," he continued in a slowed tone, as if speaking to a child. He pointed with his other hand in the direction of the marketplace, where Astrid would be heading.

She understood: if they went to the marketplace they'd be surrounded by people; something neither of them particularly enjoyed. Astrid didn't mind as much as her Pokemon did, but to him it was a like test of restraint each time they went. When she'd said 'walk', he'd likely been envisioning a stroll through an empty field or the nearby forest.

Over the past few months, she'd noticed Wiley getting increasingly anti-social. It was likely a defense mechanism, she thought: Marian had been training him to stop randomly attacking people's Pokemon, so in order to get himself to stop, he was trying to stay away from them.

Astrid sighed. "Fine, fine," she conceded. She knew that if she forced him, he would likely get into another fight, which was something neither of them needed right now. However, the fact remained that she had to do her mother's grocery shopping.

"But," she continued, "if we're going to the forest, you have to promise me you won't get into any trouble when we come back to do shopping."

"Cham!" he insisted, but Astrid crossed her arms in response.

"Otherwise I'm leaving you at home with mum," she added with a sly smile.

"Cham, pan, cham." Wiley's tone changed immediately from one of anger to one of fear as he nodded his head profusely.

"Good," Astrid replied as she began to set off for the woods.​

Twinleaf Town- Bazaar

He had absolutely good intentions for approaching this fellow and his Gible. The sight of the dragon-type wasn't an everyday thing, and he had simply wanted to inquire how the two had gotten acquainted in the first place. There had been no suspicion in his spoken words, and his mention of Malin's habit of mimicking him, had not been a way to gain the fellow's trust either. For when it came to Pokemon, Darren had tended to trust them over their companions, having spent more time playing with his Machop in his childhood, than with humans like him.

The fellow's Gible, with it's chewing of timber in it's mouth, had looked happy enough, so it's companion must have been a good sort as well. That had been his thought when he had called for their attention, only for his words to be ignored, and the reason had been because the Gible had wandered past him and Malin. For any other civilian, this might have been understandable, as dragon-type's must have been a difficult sort to control. But for someone like Darren, who was already suspicious about the townsfolk, it got him thinking.

Now, he didn't know much at all about dragon-types, but he did know about Pokemon who misbehaved. Heard of it anyway. Usually when a Pokemon had misbehaved, it was because it had become a recent companion. Gible was already a rare enough sight as it was, and for this fellow to show up with one in a town like this, it must have meant something. While he could have been completely wrong about this, as there were Pokemon who simply did not listen, no matter how long they've been with you, he always went with his gut feeling.

This fellow could have been one of the rebels, maybe one of the newest recruits, if his control over Gible had meant anything at all. The man invading his personal space, had suddenly felt a bit more irritating, as he watched the fellow look around him, before calling the attention of his apparent companion. Even after the fellow had seen where the Gible had went, his presence had still been ignored, along with his previous questions about their acquaintance. It only supported his theory about the fellow, especially when he had been purposely shoved.

That had been simply uncalled for, not to mention that it had insulted his honor. He turned to see exactly where the fellow had gone, and found that he and the Gible had gone over to his stall. What he saw, was the sight of the fellow trying to climb his counter. That was more than enough of a reason to challenge the man's own honor, Darren going over with Malin behind him. "You there, the one with the Gible! I challenge you to a duel on the basis you have insulted my honor, and attempt of thievery." He had left out his own suspicions.

It would be no good to alert the bronze guards as of yet, not until the matter of his honor was resolved, and he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Glancing down at Malin, who had finished mimicking what he had said, he gave the Machop a nod and a smile. "Alright, you know what to do. Go ahead and start it off with a low kick." Darren had shifted his body into a fighting stance, before kicking with one of his legs, the only situation where he would purposely give his Pokemon something to mimic, instead of the other way around.

Sirius Elpis - "You attacking Goro and me?"

He was being ignorant of his surroundings, the world had always seemed like it belonged to Goro and him whenever they were together, so it was easy for him be inconsiderate of other people. It wasn't until a male voice had rung in his ears, barking of accusations and threats towards both Gible and himself, had he paused in his tracks.

He could feel it in the air. That very slight but tense push that could flip his switch. He held himself back however, pushing the imaginative battlefield that was coursing through his mind to the background, now was not the time for him to lose himself. "Huh?" He uttered rhetorically, unbelieving of the male's claims. "What do you know? I'm not stealing anything! I have the coin right he-" He turned his head to confront the male but only saw Goro falling onto her back.

Sirius watched her roll back onto her feet, almost as if it had been instinctual. If not for the boiling anger that had begun burning in the pits of his stomach, he would have been impressed. Goro had not seen a lick of battle since he had gotten her and she had taken to recovering like a champ. Though he worried for her, that kick she had taken had landed right on the mark.

A shallow breath left his lungs. The sound of it breaking into existence was clear and hollow...a chilling wind on a harrowing night would pleasant compared to this. It was the foreboding of a malevolent change.

His foot came from off the counter and silently fell back to the floor, for a moment, he couldn't imagine looking at the person who had sent their Machop after his precious Goro. "You attacking Goro and me?" He asked him quietly, his fist shaking at his side; his mind, unknown to male, filling with the images of a barren battlefield. A place without citizens or obstacles.

"Fine." He turned around towards the male, his emerald eyes shimmering with a fatal glare.

Goro must have been able to feel the mood shift, for she had quickly found her place in front of him; her dark eyes growing black like a shark in a frenzy. "Gibbbb," She growled viciously.

In his eyes, the small few that had recognized the beginnings of a battle was not around them. His scenery had changed to a ash covered wasteland, one that rained down dark sooth like snow from a calm winter. With his body tense but his sights focused and stabbing on enemy, Sirius spoke. "Alright Goro, its our first battle gal, let's crush them shall we? Dragon Rage!"

Goro nodded with vigor one time before opening her mouth and releasing a mystical blue ball of flame towards the Machop.​

Lana DeMino - Twinleaf Town​

Slowly, but surely, Melody's singing came to an end. And with the singing, Lana's dance came to a stop as well. It was only when the gypsy girl stopped dancing, did she realize just how much of a crowd she had somehow managed to attract. She looked around, her eyes widening at the money which lay at her feet. Smiling in response, she looked back up at the crowd, bowing slightly before speaking.

"Thank you ever so much," Lana said, gratitude evident on her face. "I am happy that we were able to keep you all so entertained... But I cannot accept your coin. I only dance for a small morsel of food to eat. I am afraid I have no use for your money, so I humbly return it to whoever was kind enough to pay in the first place."

As Lana knelt down to start collecting the money to return it to its proper owners, the sound of Melody's soft whimpering reached her ears. The gypsy turned to see her Igglybuff looking down rather nervously at a lone Bulbasaur. The grass Pokémon was starting to paw at the barrel so to speak, which for some reason or another seemed to be worrying Melody. Excusing herself from the townspeople who had given her the money, Lana made her way to the Bulbasaur and knelt down beside him, gently petting the Pokémon's head.

"My, you seem a bit interested in my friend..." Lana spoke softly. She glanced up at the Igglybuff, who seemed to calm down significantly now that the girl was close by. "Her name is Melody, and I've raised her since she was just a baby. My name is Lana DeMino. What is your name?" she asked gently, adjusting her gaze back down at the Bulbasaur.

Thomas Thorn & Samuel Millback

The Ursaring wastes no time as it viciously slashes at Hazel and knocks her back against the tree. Hazel moans in pain as she falls to the ground and lies there, too exhausted to react. Samuel grabs an arrow and quickly takes aim at the Ursaring, his arms shaking and making it harder to aim. Panic overtakes him and he releases the arrow, but it hits the Ursaring in the foot. It roars in agony before it turns towards the bush and starts moving towards him.

"Oh no, please, not like this..." He whimpers quietly, curled up into a ball and shaking in fear. The Ursaring definitely knows there's something behind the bush, and creeps in closer and closer, it's growl becoming louder and louder.

Thomas looked to the woods, hearing someone shouting. "El, I'm taking Lucy and Rose to see what that is." Ella looked up, a worried look on her face. "Take my weapon for now. You have not yet finished yours." She hands Thomas a long branch, with a large hook in the end. Nodding his thanks, Thomas grabbed his pack and ran into the woods, with a pokemon on each shoulder.

Spotting a large pokemon, Thomas stopped. An Ursaring was lumbering over to a bush, and some whimpering could be heard from the bush. A phantump was against a nearby tree. "Lucy, Hyper voice. Rose, fetch the little Phantump." He whispered as he aimed towards the bear pokemon. Lucy screamed at the top of her lungs, while Thomas threw the hooked spear at its head, and Rose snuck around to the phantump.

Hazel struggles to keep from going unconscious, as everything around her is going blurry. She sees a white, blurry, figure flying towards her and gets up for a moment and swats at it like a pesky Mothim before falling down face first, now passed out.

A loud screech attacks Samuel's ears, causing him to cover his ears tight with his hands. The Ursaring winces at the sound of the screech and turns towards the source of the noise, seeing an Eevee and a boy. Both would make a satisfying meal to the large Pokemon, so it starts charging towards the two. The homemade throwing spear pierces one of it's front legs, causing the Pokemon to collapse in front of them. The Ursaring snaps at the Eevee that's barely out of it's reach in a last resort attempt before it's eyes close and it's head falls on to the hard ground of the clearing.

The Ursaring lay defeated on the ground, and Thomas wasted no time in using a mechanism that would rope it to the ground. Turning back towards Rose, she held the phantump in her arms. Pulling a potion made from oran berries from his pack, Thomas sprays it on the pokemon's wounds. Turning back toward the bush, Thomas saw a boy sitting with his ears covered. Thomas reaches out his hand to help the boy up.

Samuel opens his eyes and looks around him, seeing a boy holding out his hand next to him. He takes his hands off of his ears and grabs the boy's hand, pulling himself up off the ground. His focus immediately goes to the Togetic behind him holding Hazel, along with the possibly dead Ursaring lying on the ground next to them.

"I...uh..." Samuel, at a loss for words, is left somewhat dumbfounded after what just happened. Samuel holds his arms behind his back nervously, although not quite as shy as he usually would be around someone new. "Is she going to be...ok?" He asks, looking at Hazel, passed out and with a large clawmark indented on her face...er...log.

"She should be. Oran berry potions work well, but a bit slow." Thomas said, visibly a bit nervous. "My name is Thomas, by the way. I live in a tree house not far from here." Turning back to the ursaring, Thomas examined it. "It is still alive, but barely. It will die within a few minutes." Turning back toward the phantump that was held by Rose, he noticed the scars had already healed slightly. "This phantump should be fine. Rose, give him his pokemon back." Rose carefully handed this boy his pokemon, but not before casting a wish on her. "I think Rose cast a wish on her. She will be fine." Thomas said, visibly pleased with his sister's pokemon.

As the Togetic, which is apparently named "Rose", hands back Hazel to Samuel, he holds her like a baby in his arms as she opens her eyes ever so slightly.

"Pha...Phantump..." Hazel mutters as he cradles her softly in his arms. He looks back up at Thomas and introduces himself.

"I-I'm Samuel. I live in a house outside the forest, near the edge of Twinleaf." He introduces himself. His eyes water for a second, but he quickly holds back the tears. "I really can't thank you enough. I don't know what I would do If I lost anyone else I loved..." He mutters, looking back at Hazel, who rests in his arms. Samuel takes a deep breath and smiles. "I came out here, hunting for some wild Pokemon, but we haven't had any luck today, just that big Ursaring." He explains. Now that he thinks about, though, Samuel looks at it and thinks the Ursaring might make a good meal after all. It IS pretty meaty.

"If you need food that badly, we could go see if any of my traps caught anything. Me and my sister have quite a lot of food right now." Thomas offered. Thomas turned back towards the Ursaring, and checked to see if it was alive. "It's dead now. We could probably split it, even though the meat does not taste that good. I'll take the fur off, and you can have it if you wish." Thomas set to work, removing the skin and fur, and dividing up the meat. He set aside most of it for Samuel, who seemed like he really needed it. "Lucy, catch!" He called out as he tossed a bit to her. Lucy caught it in her mouth, eating it, and visibly thinking it was not that great. Rose was flying around Samuel, checking up on the little phantump, clearly concerned for a pokemon she did not know.

Samuel agreed to have some of the meat, and watched as Thomas cut off the skin and fur. He started to think about if that Pokemon possibly had cubs...and if they were looking for her. What if they saw their mother, skinned and cut up into a meal? They would surely be scarred for life! What if-

Samuel snapped himself out of it, as he realized he was thinking about it waaaay too much. He looked back down at Hazel, who was feeling a lot better, but was simply a bit tired and had decided to stay in his arms for now. He grabbed one of the unused honey jars from his stack of supplies nearby and opened it up.

"Phan! Phantump!" Hazel giggled as she saw Samuel open up the jar of honey. He tilted the jar over her mouth, and she opened up to let the sweet, nectar of the legendaries flow into her gullet. After about half of the jar was empty, Samuel closed up the jar and patted Hazel softly on the head, as her full tummy made her a bit sleepy. He noticed the Rose nearby, concerned about Hazel from what he could tell.

"She'll be fine, I'm sure." Samuel reassured the Pokemon before picking up the half empty jar of honey and holding it out to the Pokemon. "Here, if Thomas doesn't mind, you can have this." He offered. It was the least he could do for one of the Pokemon that saved his companion's life.

Rose looked at Samuel, smiling as she took the jar. She stared at the jar, and honey started to foot out of it in little globs. "Rose is using extrasensory, by the looks of things." Thomas observed. Rose gave some to Lucy before eating the rest of the jar. "Togi- tiiiic!" She cried gleefully. Thomas handed Samuel the meat, wrapped in the pelt. "If you want, you could come meet my sister, Ella, as her pokemon already seems to trust you." Thomas said, motioning towards Rose. "So? Are you wanting to come?"

Samuel found it amusing as Rose used her powers to eat the honey, and couldn't help but laugh a little at the heart-warming scene. He took the meat and pulled a small chunk out with his teeth before chewing it up. The meat was slightly bitter, but it was filling, that's for sure.

"If you want, you could come meet my sister, Ella, as her pokemon already seems to trust you." Thomas said, motioning towards Rose. "So? Are you wanting to come?" Samuel figured that his mother wouldn't mind if he stayed out for a while longer and agreed.

"Sure. Lead the way, I'll follow." He answered, stuffing some of the meat into his satchel. He took the rest of his things and put them back in his satchel as well. As for Hazel, he put her in there as well to continue resting.

Upon Samuel agreeing to come to the tree house with him, Thomas felt relieved that he did not come off as too weird, having almost no encounters with other humans. "Great then. The house is this way." Thomas picked up his stuff, Lucy Included, and walked in the direction of the house. Reaching the back entrance, Thomas pointed up. "We take this entrance when we come through the woods. There are branches between these trees to the house." Thomas began climbing, getting up quickly due to practice. Rose motioned to let her carry phantump so you could climb easier.

Samuel followed Thomas through the woods until they stopped, with no house in sight. Samuel was slightly confused, wondering where his house was, exactly. Suddenly, Samuel heard an echo in the distance. It sounded familiar, as if it was someone he knew. He quickly realized who it was, and sighed.

"I hate to cut our meeting short, but...I gotta go, see ya." Samuel half-muttered before dashing off back the way they came. Hazel peeked out of the satchel as Samuel ran, waving good bye to her new friends.

"Pha? Phantump!" Hazel whined as Samuel kept running, not wanting to keep his mother waiting. "I know, I'm sorry, but she might be in trouble! I can't risk that!" He explained to Hazel, who responded with a groan of disappointment.

Turning back, Thomas saw Samuel running back the way they came, away from him. "Maybe I am just a weird human. I though... I thought I had made a friend, but I guess I was wrong." Thomas walked into the house, followed by a very glum Togetic. "Even after saving him, and offering him some more food besides the Ursaring, he just... Runs away." Rose slowly floated down to Ella, still looking extremely sad. "Hey Thomas! What happened?" After Thomas explained everything, even Ella was not to happy. "That boy should not have accepted to come if he had to go home..." Ella sighed. "This is why we keep to ourselves, away from others. Our ways of life are far too different." Lucy was the only one who was not glum, as she was trying to cheer the others up, but failing. "Maybe I'll see him again..." Thomas said, resting against the tree.

Twinleaf Town- Bazaar

Darren had watched Malin give him the same nod and smile that was shown to him, along with mimicking the orders he had given, and changing his position so that they matched up in appearance. Even though they had both practiced the art of mimicry for years, the Machop more so than he had, there would still always be one or two subtle differences between the both of them. In a situation like this, it was both the cause for challenging their opponents, their expressions, and the timing of their kicks.

He could never speak for Malin's opinion on things, nor could he really make his companion do something he wouldn't want to do. But he was able to read the Machop's expressions before they had even began this duel, and unlike his own growing disdain for the fellow, Malin had a more gentle look in his eyes. The fighting-type had no hostility for what was going on between him and the fellow, and how could he? Malin had always been carefree, the one who didn't really have to worry about the struggles of life, while he always had.

There was nothing or anyone, for him to blame on that however, nor would he want a reason to. They were human problems, caused and dealt with by humans, but it didn't mean Pokemon couldn't choose to involve themselves if they so wished. That had been what Malin had done, when the fighting-type had charged towards Gible, and made a low sweep of a kick towards the dragon-type. Darren had heard the fellow deny he was stealing, but hadn't listened to anything after that. He wasn't going to believe the fellow's words.

Even if they had some type of truth to them, there was still the matter of his honor, and suspicions about this fellow being one of the rebels. Anyone who knew what the situation was about, would have called Darren stubborn and reckless. They would be right on that, but it wouldn't be something the fighting-type's companion would realize, nor really admit if he had. Darren had only continued following along with what he believed his gut was telling him, and watched his Machop cause the Gible to fall on it's back. Malin had came back to him after.

Their eyes didn't meet, but he knew the Machop was still aware, and would continue to mimic anything else that was said to him. Duels were still new to them both, having never really needed the reason to fight, since they weren't really around other children and Pokemon back then, besides at workplaces. Even so, he knew enough about it, and what the Machop could do, through mishaps that happened with their mimicking back in those childhood days.

As the Gible had gotten back on it's feet, he watched as the fellow remove himself from the counter, before asking him a question that should have been obvious. Darren wasn't sure why the fellow seemed to be so distracted, but it just gave him reason to believe it had to do with the stress of rebelling against their new king. His own dark green eyes had found itself meeting the fellow's light emerald ones, where both held a similar glare. It would be much too insulting on his honor if directly said to him, but some could describe his as snobbish.

He wouldn't realize this either, for most of the time, rather than showing open disdain for someone, he was busy working. But his glare did match the fellow's own hostility, with Malin's own gentle ones being the only thing to balance it out. It didn't really seem to stop the Gible from defending it's companion however, the dragon-type growling viciously. The fellow had commanded his Pokemon to attack right then, the Gible opening it's mouth, and threatening to hit his Machop with a blue ball of flame. He felt his brows furrow at the sight of this.

Darren wasn't going to let the attack hit. "Malin, dodge the attack, and use focus energy!" Anyone who was smart, had moved away from the battle, and they would be no exception. Reacting to the attack, he had moved away and to the side, Malin following along with his movements, before Darren had started to flex his muscles. For a human, it didn't really do anything, other than looking a bit obnoxious. But for a Pokemon, for Malin anyway, it had made the fighting-type's arm and back muscles grow larger for the time being.

Of course, for a reason he couldn't understand, dodging was a difficult maneuver for someone like his Machop. While his Pokemon was able to slip past the attack, it was clear by the look of the Machop's expression, that he had still felt the blast's heat, which was enough to cause some tension. The Pokemon had still managed to carry out his order however, although he was clearly tense. If it wasn't for Malin still looking determined to carry the challenge on, he would have had the fighting-type fall back, which he wouldn't have been happy with.

Avant Ayers & Lana DeMino

Avant watched as the performance soon came to a close. All he wanted was for his Bulbasaur to come back to him before it possibly got away again, or even cause trouble for the young woman and her Igglybuff. "Thank you ever so much," The girl said, bowing to the crowd whilst smiling. "I am happy that we were able to keep you all so entertained... But I cannot accept your coin. I only dance for a small morsel of food to eat. I am afraid I have no use for your money, so I humbly return it to whoever was kind enough to pay in the first place." Avant was rather surprised to say the least. Most performers just wanted money to spend on who knows what, but this one actually just wanted food! She started to kneel down and return money back to the owners, until she eventually caught eye of Root. Avant mentally gave himself a facepalm, and watched as the girl approached his Bulbasaur.

"My, you seem a bit interested in my friend..." She spoke to Root, petting him on his head. Avant could tell she was pretty good with Pokemon. Although Root never really showed anyone hostility, if he let her pet his head, then he must have felt some sort of connection of trust. The girl then looked back at her Igglybuff . "Her name is Melody, and I've raised her since she was just a baby. My name is Lana DeMino. What is your name?" she asked, looking at Root. The crowd started to disperse, so Avant used this chance to approach the girl, and retrieve his Pokémon.

"Well, his name is Root." Avant walked up to them and bent down as well, also petting Root, this time on the bulb. "I'm Sorry, he tends to leave me whenever he gets the chance. He's curious like that. He didn't scare you or anything, did he?" Avant looked at the girl, and then gestured at the Igglybuff. He was sure he didn't scare the girl, but he wasn't too certain about her little pink Pokémon.

"No, not at all," Lana replied, looking up at Avant as he spoke. The blue-haired girl glanced over at her Igglybuff who was still looking down at Root with a somewhat cautious look in her eyes. This earned a small giggle from the gypsy girl who patted the Bulbasaur's head one more time before getting up and carefully scooping Melody back up into her arms. "Melody is okay too. She just tends to get a bit shy around those she has not met before."

Extending her hand out towards the boy, Lana smiled softly before continuing. "My name is Lana, by the way. What's your name?"

Avant stood up as well, giving Lana a smile. "My name's Avant, nice to meet ya." He laughed a bit, grabbing her hand lightly and shaking it. Suddenly, a question popped into his head. "Say...I hope you don't mind me asking. But..." Avant paused. He didn't want to offend the Lana, so he thought out his words first. "...why'd you give the money back? I mean, you could have used it to buy food." He asked.

Lana shook her head. "My family does not believe in using money in order to obtain food, drink, clothing and other such things," she answered. "We live on a system or barter and entertainment. When we stop by towns and we need supplies, we perform laborious tasks for the residents, trade, and perform..." she paused, looking thoughtful for a moment. "Mother said that money is a sign of greed... I think that's how she put it, anyways."

Avant didn't agree wholeheartedly, but he could see where Lana was coming from. Avant and his family didn't have too much money, but they did have enough to afford basic things plus some on leisure. He then remembered the bag in is hands, and an idea popped into his head. "Well, if you want..." He opened up the bag and rummaged around, pulling out one of the loaves of bread he bought earlier. "I have this loaf, if you want it. I can always just buy another one." He shrugged. Normally he wouldn't give food to strangers, but Lana seemed genuine and harmless enough.

Lana's eyes widened, the girl shaking her head quickly. "Oh, no. I couldn't just take it from you..." she replied quickly. The gypsy girl looked thoughtful for a moment, before speaking again. "At least, I couldn't for free... Is there something I could assist you with?"

"Hmmmm..." Avant wondered for a few seconds. The groceries weren't really that heavy, so it wasn't like he needed help carrying those. He put his hand on his chin, until he saw Root looking back up at Melody, Lana's Igglybuff. "Well...now that you mention it..." He smiled while looking at his Bulbasaur. "Root gets lonely a lot 'cus there's no other Pokémon back at the house, and he seems to have taken a liking to Melody. So if it wouldn't be too much trouble…would you let him play with her for a bit?" It was certainly an odd question, but Root looked like he was itching to play with someone, which was probably the reason he kept running off.

Melody glanced down from Lana's arms as the two humans spoke. The Igglybuff noticed that Root was staring rather intently at her once more. The Igglybuff gave the Bulbasaur a rather nervous looking smile, a small blush quickly poking up to her cheeks from all the attention Root seemed to be showing her.

"Well... I'm sure that would be alright, yes," Lana answered with a small nod. She glanced down at the Igglybuff in her arms as she spoke, gently petting the top of her head. "We're always traveling and Melody never really has anyone like herself to interact with. I think it would be nice."

Lana knelt down to the ground once more. She gently sat Melody on the ground near the Bulbasaur. The Igglybuff looked a bit nervous as she looked at Root before glancing back up at the gypsy girl quickly. Lana seemed to notice how tense her Igglybuff looked. She began to pat her head once more, speaking to Melody softly.

"It's alright, Melody..." Lana said. "He just wants to be your friend." The Igglybuff took a small breath before she slowly walked over towards Root. Her tiny hand gently stretched out, before she patted Root's head, as if officially greeting the Bulbasaur in her own way. Lana giggled before standing up again and watching the two interact. "Sorry about that, she's a bit... shy. Melody's always been like that ever since she hatched from her egg."

"It's fine." Avant laughed. He watched as he saw Root growl playfully at Melody and poke her back with his paw. "Root's more of a curious fellow than shy." He said looking at the two once more, and saw Root smile and growl some more at Melody. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot." Avant reached into his bag once again, and pulled out the loaf from before. "Here, I think you should take it now." He said, smiling.

Lana smiled, taking the loaf from Avant gratefully. "Thank you so much," the girl replied. "You're a very generous soul, Avant." He just smiled. Avant did try to help out when he could, but honestly, it was just sort of nice talking to someone random in the day and making a possible new friend. But the real winner was Root, who finally had some playtime as opposed to it usual sleep and eat habits.​

A Stroll Around The Block

Breathe in… breathe out. Breathe in… breathe out.

Nadia was in complete control of her body at that exact moment. She was sitting cross-legged next to the little pond owned by the farmer she was staying with. Her chest slowly rose and lowered to the soft sounds of the water tinkling away, a light breeze rustling the nearby trees occasionally, and a small family of Duckletts, happily swimming around at the other side of the pond.

Eventually, the girl nodded after exhaling again, opening her eyes with a smile. "Ah, that felt great. Nothing like a morning meditation, mmh?" She looked down beside her, where the Chimchar had planted himself. At first, he had taken up the same position as Nadia, but he had gotten distracted by the pond and the Duckletts, having picked up a long reed and was currently waving it around near one of the smaller Duckletts, much to their annoyance.

Nadia giggled a little and grasped the staff she had laid next to her during her meditation, quickly jumping to her feet. "Alright, that's enough of that, Iggy. Come on, let's go to the market and see if something interesting is going on!"

The Chimchar turned his head and let out a cheerful series of 'ooks' and 'iiks' before running over and jumping up onto her shoulder. She smiled and raised a hand to pat him on the head. "We'll be back to help with the Milktanks before the sun goes down. Right now, let's see if we can't get us some early lunch!"

With that, the duo sped off, down the dusty road towards the town, Nadia almost going into a full-fledged sprint on her way there. Once they reached the outskirts of the town, Nadia slowed a little down and glanced over to a smaller house with a barrel standing outside, next to a porch. She grinned, running over and leaping onto the barrel and proceeded to climb on top of the roof, where she continued to hop from roof to roof.

Nadia had always preferred this way of getting around town. She didn't have to feel shut in by all of the people walking around on the road, and she liked the view and the fresh air up here. The guardsmen occasionally shouted for her to get down, but she'd managed to evade them pretty easily so far. And now that she was up here, she felt that she could take it a lot more easily.

She kept her staff resting against her shoulder, smiling to herself as she looked up at the bright-blue sky with a few, white clouds dotted here and there. "Maybe we should go bathe in the lake again today. What do you think, Iggy?" The Chimchar giggled and clapped his hands together. She knew he loved bathing, despite him being a fire-type.

Smiling at her companion, Nadia did a little run-up before leaping onto the roof of the next building, now finally having reached the market-area. However, as her little monkey-friend climbed onto her other shoulder to look down at the people walking and the stalls, Nadia found herself a little thoughtful, her brow furrowing and the care-free smile disappearing from her lips.

It's been a long time. Surely if I was meant to get guidance from Arceus, he would've sent me another sign already. Maybe the soldiers who've arrived recently is a sign… and my destiny has to do with the trouble with the revolutionaries there's been rumors about…? She sighed softly. She'd tried to stay out of the whole king-revolution-business. She knew that the conflict would be important later on, but she didn't want to get involved while she wasn't even sure of her own path in life.

She got pulled out of her thoughts as Iggy tapped her head, chattering as he pointed towards the blacksmith's stall. Nadia raised her brows and leapt over to another roof to get a little closer, sinking herself down to sit with her legs dangling off the side of the house, her staff resting against her shoulder. She watched as a guy and his Machop, whom she'd recognized from working in the smithy many times, seemingly starting a fight with a guy and his Gible. Her brows raised in curiosity and a small smile spread on her lips at the two duos faced off against one another.

"Huh. Pretty interesting way to start our day, don't you think so Iggy?"

"Eek-eek!"

Twinleaf Town - Twinleaf Bazaar​

Sirius let out a chuckle, seeing the man order his Machop to dodge, it was wicked and a bit demented. The reason for his moniker "Craze" was beginning to bubble to the surface. It was good though, the battlefield had been set and with Goro on his side, a powerful and rare dragon-type Pokemon, he was as good as gold.

He hadn't payed much mind to the stranger's erratic movements and even less to the innocent expression that laid on his Machop's face. All he had known, all he had seen was his opponents and the dream-like battleground that his mind had constructed. His Pokemon is building its strength, now is the perfect time to attack. He decided. The perfect time to crush him...

His eyes lifted with fiery vigor. "Goro! Get him while he's focusing, Tackle attack!" Ordered Sirius.

The ash that covered the wasteland of his mind started to float in the air with his rising tension, his burning spirit sparking a long dead heat in them, and causing them to turn into amber sparks. They quickly lit the world in a sunset hue.

I don't like it. Not one bit... Someone-, He thought vindictively. Someone like him.

She was quick on her feet, savage and wildly powerful, as she sprinted across the field. While Machop's muscles were tightening, increasing, or whatever; Goro launched herself at him, aiming to smash into the Pokemon's gut and hopefully catching it off guard.

Sirius' breathing was heavy with rage, his arms tense underneath the dull beige of his sweater. Brushing back and holding the bangs of his hair against the left of his head, he gave his opponent a clear show of the animosity that was swirling in his eyes. "Aye!" He called out towards the boy. "You'll regret thinking me a thief. I could care little for your honor!" Barked, Sirius. "...But I'll gladly blow it to smithereens for ya."​

In his eyes, the duel was nothing more than a way to restore honor to his name. While he would still be frustrated if he had actually lost, the insult he had felt from the fellow's actions, would have been resolved regardless, as this wasn't a thing to concern himself over forever. The better man would have been the fellow, and he would have had to respect that, even with his suspicions. But hearing the chuckle as he told Malin to dodge the searing blue flames of Dragon Rage, he knew the man was possibly seeing this duel as more than it was.

How savage. Dueling was supposed to be a way to resolve disputes you had with another fellow, and in some cases, fair maidens. But this brute seemed to be planning more than that. He had a feeling of where this might lead, and his suspicions about the fellow, certainly kept it's hold from the thought. He wasn't going to let those thoughts consume him into a panic however. Being a blacksmith required patience, and that was what he would need if he was going to win the duel, and keep anything drastic from possibly happening to Malin.

Darren had watched the dragon-type move quickly across the bazaar, after the fellow had ordered it to tackle his Machop. He expected no less from a dragon, and while he knew the Gible wasn't going to be able to stop Malin from finishing charging up his focus energy, it was going to land that tackle. The Machop had it's limits, and there wasn't any way he would be able to dodge on time. As the Gible had gotten closer to it's destination, and Malin had looked about nearly seconds from finishing, he had given out his next order.

"Malin, block the attack and try to hold your position!" Darren had crossed his arms over his shoulders, and changed his position so that he was standing his ground. Malin had done the same thing, the fighting-type still continuing to mimic him, even though his current state had only made him more weary. But that was how the fighting-type always had been, true to his name as a "little warrior", and would likely still continue to mimic him, if they were in even worser conditions. As foolish as it was, he could never blame his Machop for his nature.

When the Gible had finally made contact with Malin, Darren had watched as an impact that would have normally sent the fighting-type flying back, had instead only pushed him back a few inches across the ground. It was the focus energy that had done it, having tightened the Machop's leg muscles as well, which helped keep the Pokemon's footing. Malin was panting from the impact, and if he had to guess, adrenaline was perhaps coursing through the fighting-type's body, a reaction from his Machop's strange difficulty on being on the defensive.

Still, it was no reason not to use the possible surprise that Malin had stood his ground, to their advantage. "Now, aim for another low kick while you have the chance!" Darren had changed his position once again, back to the fighting stance he had given earlier, and had performed a sweep kick as well. The Machop had continued to mimic him, showing that he had understood the situation, and was still willing to continue on with the duel. As the Machop had went to carry out the maneuver, a thought had came to Darren's mind.

He realized with the way the battle was going on, especially after that Dragon Rage had been used, that their onlookers might have reported the duel. While not illegal, they would at least likely be stopped earlier than he had actually wanted to, for any repairs needed than anything else. If that was to be the case, then he wanted to get one more hit in, and one that he had been saving to use the entire time. "Malin, fall back a few paces." Regardless of whether or not the low kick had made contact, he was going to give Malin a final order.

"Good, now I want you to go ahead and prepare to use that move. The Bronze Guards no doubt will show up, so best to finish this off with a lasting impression." The fighting-type had given his usual mimicking, before giving a slight nod, at what Darren had been referring to. This time, Darren hadn't changed his position at the first command, and instead had watched his Machop charge forward towards the Gible. Only when it had steadily gotten closer, did he actually make a punch at the air, the fighting-type's arm glowing a bluish-white.

Avant Ayers

Root growled, as he jumped around Melody almost as if he were trying to egg her on to 'tag' him. "Root, I think that's enough. You've never been this active before." Avant laughed. "Are you even my Bulbasaur?" He walked up to his Pokémon and bent down to pet the green monster, while trying to poke Melody once last time. Avant was just about to nudge his Pokémon away, but the sudden sound of a small explosion ruptured through the marketplace. Avant, shocked, stood up and quickly turned to look down the street, to see a cloud of dust rise into the air a little ways away. He couldn't see what was the source, as people were in the way, blocking his view. "Huh? What was that?" Avant shrugged, looking at Lana.

"Those fools are battling right in the open!" A random man yelled, as several people started to run away from the direction of the explosion. To Avant's surprise, some people were even going towards it, to presumably watch the so-called battle. Huh, a battle. Interesting. Avant never was a fan of participating in battling, however he did like to spectate. "...it's some guy's Dragon Pokémon versus a Fighting type!" A passerby shouted.

"Alright! My money is on the Dragon type!" He overheard a few people talking to each other as they ran past Avant and Lana and headed towards the source of the skirmish, which from the look of things, seemed to have been taking place in front of a few stalls and shops.

"You a fan of battling? Wanna go check it out?" Avant turned to Lana. He didn't care if she didn't want to go, but since Avant was headed over there, he thought it may as well have been polite to ask.​

Thomas stared up at the clouds, as everyone at home was glum, even Lucy. "I... I'm going to check the traps." He tells Ella. "Don't be out too long, Thomas." Grabbing his stuff, Thomas called out over his sholder "No promises! I'm staying out however long I want!" Lucy followed behind, glad to do something else away from the very sad Rose. "If I see him again, I won't be mad. I would be glad that he came back to see me." Lucy, while he was talking, had pinned down a Caterpie, and was carrying it, still alive, to Thomas as a gift. He took it out of her mouth, and told her, "Thanks, Lucy. Now we have some bait." He tied a rope to its tail, and tied the rope to a branch that he stuck in the ground in the middle of a clearing. Grabbing Lucy, Thomas climber a tree and waited for something to take the bait. A beautifly came to try to free it, but Thomas threw a pointed stick and punctured her wing. He tied her to the post along with the caterpie. More small bugs started to appear, and Thomas incapacitated every one. Soon, he had many bug pokemon tied to many posts. All flying bugs had holes from spears in there wings, and bugs like caterpie were simple caught my Lucy. The cries of the pokemon could reach a bit a ways in every direction. Thomas wondered if anything worth his time would show, human or pokemon. "If nothing shows, I'll just free them all."
