"503" Error?

Hi everyone,

So my brother told me earlier that Pok?mon GO was released on the Apple App Store (and on Android devices, right?). Naturally I was very excited, I mean, who wasn't? I was even more excited when I realized that it had been released on my birthday. So I downloaded the app, opened it, and try to sign in with my Pok?mon Trainer Club information, except that I had forgotten my username... I tapped "Forgot username?" and it opened up a tab-like thingie in Safari, only...it brought me to a page saying, "503 Error!" along with some other stuff. I thought that maybe it would work on my laptop instead so I got out my laptop and tried to go to the pok?mon.com website and to the Pok?mon Trainer Club area of the site to try to retrieve my username again. Of course the site wouldn't load correctly and again the page said, "503 Error!" in bold with the smaller text under it. After trying a few times I finally got the site to work a little and I got the chance to enter my email address and receive an email that lead me to the pok?mon.com website so that I could retrieve my username. It didn't work and again the site gave me bold text saying, "503 Error!". I really want to get a chance to play Pok?mon GO really soon... How can I fix this (if I even can)? Will I just have to wait for administrators to fix the site?

There's just so much traffic there right now, I'm sure. I imagine that whole system is running sluggishly. You're not the only one who has been having issues with it from what I've seen tonight. I guess just be patient and try again later, or just sign up with a Google account.

Alright, thank you for telling me what the problem was, lol. I guess I should have figured that the server would be flooded with traffic, lol. Now if I sign up with a Google account will I still be able to view my information on the pok?mon.com website, or is that only if you sign up with your Pok?mon Trainer Club information.

Error 503 is a web error for "Service unavailable". Their servers are just being flooded right now, so patience is key. Just wait a few hours and you should be able to get in. I've been having connectivity issues all day long.
