[Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl] 5IV Pokémon

    Not new to Pokémon. New to the coveted IV stats that everyone desperately wants. So 6 IV stats total…What is so great about chaining 100 to get 5 IV at less than 1% chance to achieve? Why not chain 40 for 4 IV and raise the final 2 IVs with items? Is it just a purity kind of thing?
     
    Just for the showoff factor, I'd imagine. 6IVs are pretty much never necessary on any Pokémon and it's not massively difficult to get that final IV up to max via other means. I definitely wouldn't hunt for a 6IV Pokémon using chaining or any other method other than bottle caps. I guess if someone has done most of what the game has to offer but still wanted something to keep them playing (especially those who stream) I suppose it would be an option though. Just not for me!
