"A Crowning Achievement" Episode Discussion

It tried to be different, kinda, but still ended up boring. I skip this episode everytime it comes around again on my Master Quest boxset...

No, I understand. In comparison to the next handful of episodes, I think it's a good breather, but, yeah. I didn't mind it, as I long awaited Slowking's "official" debut in the anime, and it was pleasing. It beats the other branched evolutions episodes we've gotten (Politoed, Bellossom), as per those pesky Shellder and their serving of the plot. Heh.

This episode is also special, as it's the last hand-colored animation episode (future episodes jumping to digital). Because of that, I savored the nicely colored-but-cheap animation here -- one of the few times I had actually done that.
