A failed begining. [Pg-13]

A Pikachu waddled over to Jackie the Lotad, and flipped her over. She looked dizzy for a moment.

"Alright Jackie, can you use Nature Powe-"

"Have you looked over here?"

"No, I'll check it out though."

Oh no! The people were too close at this point, and I'm sure Jackie might not even know how to use Nature Power. The Mew gave a glare and grabbed our singed clothes before flying away. Everybody looked around confusedly. It dropped a small bag of Pokeballs on us though, and the spheres rolled onto the floor. That's great, I thought That's practically screaming to the people "Catch Us!"

But then the Mew hit a branch as he flew. It cracked ever so slightly, but then...

CREEAAAAAK!!

"Ah, crap." Was the last thing I was able to say before the branch fell on the cage. I quickly jumped to the other side, and waited for the loud smash.

A pikachu, for that was all Jackie could recognize him by, was the one to help her back on her feet. Thankfully and breathing a sigh of relief, Jackie looked around dizzily and cleared her thoughts before speaking.

"Oh yes, I was going to try out Nature Power..."

Jackie tried her hardest, but where to begin? She didn't even know how to use a pokemon move of any kind... so what could she do? In the middle of her train of thought, a new voice interupted Jackie's pondering.

"Have you looked over here?" The voice was clearly not that of a pokemon, it was a human voice! "No, I'll go check it out!" And another!

Looking back at Mew, Jackie noticed that it seemed nervous at the sound of voices. Jackie took a glance in the direction of the trainers, but so far she could see no one. I wonder where they are; it sounded like they were close enough to be here already. Hmmm. But Jackie's thoughts were interrupted once again, this time by a loud creak. Just in time she looked up to see a tree branch falling toward the cage.

"Whaaaa, LOTAAAAAD!"

Jackie cried out in fear. It seemed like the end; the crash had sounded... but why was there no pain? Wouldn't Jackie have been crushed? Confused, Jackie opened her eyes- which had been closed since she saw the branch -and realized that although the cage had been the most severly crushed in her area, it didn't go low enough to harm her. Furthermore, an opening had been made in the bars that the chubby lotad girl managed to slip through. She breathed a sigh of relief. She was out!

Yet it wasn't satisfying some how. Jackie was still a lotad, and a few trainers were still heading in the direction of herself and her friends. What were they supposed to do now?

I had helped the Lotad back on its feet and it looked a little dizzy once it got up.

"Oh yes, I was going to try out Nature Power..." He or she said. Hmm... Nature Power... Oh yeah, a move that changes with the environment. It's probably going to be a grass attack. And so far, that seems to be our best bet.

"Have you looked over here?"

Dang, I forgot. Those kids will probably want to catch us. I don't want to be confined to a tiny ball for the rest of my existence! I had noticed the Mew was flying off when it slammed into a tree branch. And that's when it started cracking. And at any moment it looked like it would strike the bamboo cage.

Crap.

It kept on creaking and cracking until...

SNAP

I immediately jumped out of the way, braced myself and waited for the crash. I heard it and it was ear-piercing! Shockingly enough, I wasn't dead, I wasn't even injured. And even more convenient, it opened up a hole large enough for me to squeeze out of.

I jumped out of the cage second, right after the Lotad. Well, that takes care of that situation. Now I just have to find the Mew, get him to make us human again, avoid the kids catching us and then get off the damned island. I have a gut feeling this isn't going to end well. I don't know this island at all. I need to make a mental map. But this forest is too thick. I started turning and looking around for anything that wasn't forest. And that's when I saw something that acted like a beacon of light. A mountain. A big one at that. Maybe I could get to higher ground, and I'd be able to get a better view of the island. And once I find the Mew, he won't be able to lead me into any death traps. Yes, good.

I sprinted off towards the mountain, out of the clearing and through the forest, running straight. Just you wait Mew, I'm gonna get my body back, just you wait.

(OOC: ChrisTom, you said we were all confused, you bunnied us.)

Bryon kept toying around with his new form. Porygon seemed to handle itself almost like a computer. In Bryon's sight, He could see various commands that Porygon could operate with, Including attacks and abilities. It really intrigued Bryon... The question was, How to use these abilities in the first place...

After hearing the sound of human voices, Mew quickly grabed everyone's belongings and left us for the trainers to deal with, but hit a branch which seemed like it would fall straight down on the cage.

"Crap... Those kids are obviously going to aim those pokeballs for me first. I don't think Porygon are exactly "Common" Around this island" He thought out loud. Without a second though, The tree branch fell on the cage and opened an escape route. "Oh of all the luck!" Bryon yelled out loud.

Those other trainers would be here any minute and without warning, The pikachu that was inside the cage with them dashed towards the mountain in the distance which seemed a bit reckless since everyone else is sort of in the same situation. "Hey! Hold up! Mind the others!" Bryon Said to Vico while following him. At the same time, he turned to the others behind him, "Hey! Guys! It's now or never, Lets dash out of here before those trainers see us!". Bryon just kept on moving through the forest following Vico...

Unfortunately, Katenko was this close to hyperventilating. The only reason that she wasn't foaming at her mouth and praying to Arceus was because Jess the Vulpix had given her an idea. When Jess said, "I dunno why any of this happened, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the Mew", Katenko was already brainstorming. If Mew was the reason they were all trapped in cages and turned into pokemon, then Mew could be the solution to all of this mess.

"Maybe, just maybe, if we defeat Mew, we could turn ourselves back to normal. I don't care if I transformed into my most favourite pokemon in the whole wide world...I WANT TO BE HUMAN. Damn, if I knew this was going to happen, I would've thought of capturing something more stronger, so Mew could transform me into a strong pokemon. I could've chosen Blaziken, or even a Legendary! Truthfully, I chose Eevee since its beginning moves..." She sighed, thinking that she would never have said this before until now, "...SUCK, and I would have had a good challenge trying to improve it and evolve it into one of its evolutions. But now..." She let out another deep sigh. Obviously, Sand-Attack would not help them escape, or turn them back into humans.

Katenko looked at the ground and saw a glinting thing on the ground. "A contact lens...WAIT, A CONTACT LENS!" She quickly realized that her golden eye was visible.

Then she heard a voice. Katenko turned around to see a Porygon saying, "If any of you have a plan of your own feel free to share it with us." Perfect timing. Katenko walked over to Bryon/Porygon with a fair number of trips, and whispered into his ear (OOC: or its? Since Porygon are genderless, but Bryon is a dude.), or at least where she thought was his ear, and laid out the plan so that it stayed in his mind.

Unfortunately, before she even got the chance, Mew ran away.

"Crap, there goes the basis of my idea…" Katenko said, silently criticizing herself for letting it escape. Suddenly, a large SNAP was heard, and a branch fell on the cage, startling most of the pokemon. One of those pokemon was Katenko.

"HOLY CRAP!" Katenko ran to the side before the branch made her into a chestnut brown pancake.

CRASH

"Well, looks like we're free." Katenko remarked as she stared at the gaping hole the branch had made. She ran to it, and climbed out.

OOC: If anyone wants to cricitize my eyes, idc.

I sat just outside of the cage sitting and waiting for the humans to come and catch me and I was calm. <Here they come to throw the pokeball and catch me. Wait, that's right they'll just keep me in the ball, only to come out to fight for them. Why am I letting them catch me? That's right I want to make myself helpful, but maybe it's not the best idea.> It clicked in my head, <I'm outta here! Where should I run? I have to stay with the others!> I looked around to see that the Porygon was running off into the forest. "Hey! Guys! It's now or never, lets dash out of here before those trainers see us!" the Porygon shouted. "I'm coming!" I replied as I ran towards him and followed suit, but it was awkward running on all fours and I was trying to get used to it. Then it happened, the worst thing possible, I tripped over my back leg and sprawled to the ground to look to my left and see a boy my age with a pokeball in hand look over to me and smile. "I'll got you!" he said. I panicked and quickly got to my feet and jumped just in time to doge the pokeball that was thrown at me. I sprinted as fast as I could toward Porygon, who appeared to be heading to a mountain that I could sort of see with the top of my eyes that seemed far away, and yelled "Run faster he's after us!" as the kid chased toward us now seeing both me and Porygon.

The pikachu from earlier had escaped the cage around the same time as Jackie, and now she noticed that he was heading for the mountains. A few footsteps heart threateningly close alerted Jackie to the presence of a trainer, maybe two heading that way. For a brief moment, she considered being caught, but that was a dumb idea. So instead, she followed pikachu, as well as the growlithe and porygon who had joined him, off in the direction of the great peak. On the way, the growlithe tripped and was only barely to escape being captured by the trainer who fortunately didn't notice Jackie. Either that or he didn't want her.

Poor growlithe, whoever she is. Jackie thought. She seems to be having trouble running on all fours. But it was then that Jackie realized that she two was no longer a bipede. In the few moments since she had begun to run, the movement came naturally, however as soon as she realized that she had three times the number of legs as before- for lotad have six -Jackie began to stumble and nearly tripped numerous times.

Geese, being a pokemon is waaaaaay harder than I thought!

"I got you!" One of those kids said. He was after Keaton! "Crap! I'm not living the rest of my life as a trainer's pet..." Is what he would have though if his conscience didn't get the better of him. Bryon wasn't going to let anyone get left behind... And it seemed that the "four leggers" Had trouble keeping up.

Still trying to escape, Bryon thought "what to do... what to do..." Then he had an idea. While it would be stupid to harm human's as a pokemon, It wouldn't hurt to at least slow them down a bit. Bryon thought quickly turned around to where Keaton was being chased, dashed back through the forest, And made a sharp turn behind Keaton, but stoped right in front of the kid's feet, Hopefully tripping him.

Thinking was not working out well. Maybe she was still dazed from being knocked out for... well, she didn't know how long, and turned into a Pokémon. Whatever the reason, Jess couldn't come up with many plans that were actually plausible and was quite willing to go along with whatever the others came up with, provided it might work. But how could they-

"Have you looked over here?"

"No, I'll go check it out!"

Jess almost moaned aloud. Of all the rotten luck. We've gotta get out of here. Fast. A sound behind her caught her attention. Oh, it's just the Mew. It seems twitchy... what are a couple kids to it? It's just showed off its power over us, she thought bitterly. Hey, wait a minute, dang it. There goes all our proof that we're actually people. The Mew ricocheted off a tree branch, losing a few Pokéballs from its load, before it was gone.

Creak... creak... uh oh... run!

Jess leapt out of the way as the limb came crashing down on the cage, her eyes closed tightly in fear of the impact. She landed with a dull thud on the ground, stumbling across something hard and round and landing on her stomach. A rock? No... a Pokéball... this could be either really smart or really dumb of me. Remember, Jess? "Don't do dumb things." No time, I'm taking the risk. Her human mind would have told her to grab it and put it in her pocket, but the fact that she didn't have hands or pockets made them of little use to her. Carefully, Jess grabbed one of the Pokéballs with her mouth and took off running, operating fully on instinct, fear, and adrenaline. There was a boy tearing after Keaton, a Pokéball in hand, as Bryon attempted to trip him. Oh, crap. He's seen us. And he could call his friends- don't even think it. Just run.

Katenko ran as fast as she could, save for her tail inconviniently right where her back paws were. Apparently, other pokemon had the same problem. Katenko saw that Growlithe had fallen down, tripping on its knee. A trainer went to try and capture it, but Growlithe managed to dodge the pokeball and join up with Bryon. Katenko continued to run as fast as she could, trying to catch up with Porygon.

"Damn, damn, damn! I shouldn't have come here if I knew this was going to happen!"

That was not the smartest thing Katenko had done. One of the trainers, apparently staring at the sand, looked up and saw Katenko. Or, more precise, heard her. "Look, an Eevee! I ALWAYS wanted one!" The girl trainer started chasing after Katenko. "Well, hit my head and slap me silly. I gave myself away." Katenko started to run as fast as she could, her breath coming out in pants.

Suddenly, she had an idea. Bracing herself on the sand, Katenko used a Sand-Attack on the trainer (well...more like just kicking sand into her face), who recoiled back and hit the other trainers, causing them to recoil for a minute. Katenko ran as fast as she could, again trying to catch up with Porygon.

Katenko decided to talk a little with Growlithe, so she ran a bit more and placed herself by the Growlithe's side. "You know what, I think that today couldn't be any worse. We turned into pokemon, got trapped in bamboo cages, and to top it off, currently being chased by a kid who thinks that leering at his to-be pokemon is going to make them become friendlier to him." Then she bumped into a tree branch. When katenko freed herself, she had leaves in her mouth. "Or maybe not."

Don't you just love when everything you work for goes to dust? They found nearly all of us. Now we have even more things to worry about. Well, we have no way out now, if any of us got caught that would just compromise this whole shenanigan even more. I gotta get to that mountain, but I can't stay there long if these kids are on our tails. Starting with this one right here.

I turned myself around to see that the Porygon was trying to trip one of the kids. He got the setup, I have to execute it. I ran as fast as I could towards the boy. I hope I have some kind of jumping ability as a Pokemon. I got as near as I could, jumped and slammed into the child's back. Considering my weight, I didn't knock him too far, just enough for him to trip over Bryon and fall flat on his face.

Okay, now that that deed has been done, but it's just a matter of time before they find the rest of us. Rest of us...

Wait a minute.

Half of us are still back in the cage wreck. The Charmander, Eevee, Lotad and it looks like the Vulpix is speeding over here. We've got nowhere else to go. I looked back to the mountain. I decided that if we're going to run, we might as well multi-task. I began running towards the mountain again. I was hoping nothing too bad would happen to them, but I'm sure they noticed which direction I ran towards. I'm sure they'll survive.
