A few questions about pokemon go...

Hi, I'm new to these forums (and new to pokemon in general, apart from a brief spell playing fire red on a jailbroken iphone last year, until iOS 8 stopped that...)

I have a few questions regarding pokemon go. I had a bit of a look around, and can't find the answers. I'm sorry if this thread is in the wrong place, but I think it's in the right place.

1. What are eggs, how do you get them?
2. How do you evolve pokemon?
3. Is there any advantage to getting, say, more than one rattatta? Or any other?
4. Sometimes, when I try to catch a pokemon, the game crashes as soon as the pokemon gets caught (but before it does that shaking thing). When I rejoin the game, I have the pokemon in my pokedex. What is happening?
5. Which pokemon should I upgrade, and how to do this?
6. How do I get new poke balls, apart from levelling up?
7. My game frequently won't load past about 25%. What to do?
8. If I find a XXXXXX in a certain place, will everyone else be able to find that pokemon there?

I am in the UK, but got the game on the US app store.
If you tell me the answer to any of these, or direct me to where I can find it, that would be very helpful.

1. What are eggs, how do you get them?
You get these from PokeStops. These are landmarks in your area that you can go too about once every 5 minutes. These give you pokeballs, eggs, and even more items when you level up. You also receive 50 XP for visiting.
2. How do you evolve pokemon?
When you catch a pokemon you get a certain amount of candy for that pokemon. This candy is needed to evolve it.
3. Is there any advantage to getting, say, more than one rattatta? Or any other?
See above, also some are stronger than others. You can return duplicates by hitting exchange to the professor for an additional candy.
4. Sometimes, when I try to catch a pokemon, the game crashes as soon as the pokemon gets caught (but before it does that shaking thing). When I rejoin the game, I have the pokemon in my pokedex. What is happening?
It is a common bug, nothing can be done as far as I am aware.

I'd recommend whatever has the highest CP. (combat points) When you click on the pokemon if you have enough of its candy and the other currency (blanking on the name) you can upgrade/evolve.

Pokestops, see above. The same thing as eggs.
7. My game frequently won't load past about 25%. What to do?
Restart the app, it is a bug.
