[Game Journal] A Glaceon dusts off a bunch of games

Metroid Prime Remastered.

Samus arrives on a space station, on a platform outside of it. I mess about a bit trying to familiarize myself with the controls. First person Metroid game this time, was expecting another sidescroller like Dread.

I shoot some red lights into being green to unlock a barrier. I hack a pillar with the scan visor and shoot some more red lights into greenness. I keep pressing Y when wanting to shoot and become ball mode Samus. Gonna take a bit to get to used to these controls.
I shoot a door to open it... seems like a weird way of opening doors. I use the scan visor on some glowy stuff for information on various decks of the space station. I shoot another door open at the end of the passage.

I then scan something to re-pressurize an air lock. A large hallway with something that's on fire. I scan everything and when progressing notice there's a big dead alien. Shortly after are 2 little aliens munching on a corpse. I shoot them and then some corpse starts firing on me so I shoot it. I scan everything and progress.

I blast some rubble aside in the next corridor. I see some small aliens scatter in the next area and then ponder for a couple seconds how to follow them into the duct. I press everything to crouch. Oh... doh... ball mode. I scan everything in the next room and then get the map from the terminal before rolling back out the duct.
I shoot a door to open it and scan something so I can step in a hologram to make the elevator move.

I enter a hallway with sparks of electricity blocking the way. I'm told about the morph ball.... bit late lol
Gotta time this it seems. I roll towards a new corridor where I scan a bunch of stuff and kill 2 humanoids.
I enter a new corridor and shoot a 'missile' into a turret of sorts. Missile... more like plasma cannon. Oh well.
Next room has another turret to blast and a whole bunch of stuff to scan before heading up an elevator.
On the upper floor are some more alien things to shoot and a whole bunch of stasis units to scan.

I navigate a small corridor with scan-able stuff on the wall again and enter the next room where I shoot a turret and after some quick scanning enter another elevator. I shoot some more of the same enemies and go ball mode to activate a big door. After which I shoot 2 turrets so I can ball mode again open to the next one. Door on the left is a save station. I hit it up of course. Would prefer manual save, but what can you do.
I roll into the next room and get a cutscene.

I shoot some big alien queen thing for a minute or two and it falls into some lava or whatever.
Reactor malfunction. Oh.

A lengthy escape sequence follows where are at some point some robot pterodactyl shows up only to fly off. At some point Samus' suits loses a bunch of functions. I prioritize escape as I'm on a timer.
When I reach the outside metaldactyl shows up again and the cutscene has Samus follow it to the planet.

Tallon Overworld North.
Well I guess I better hope I didn't miss anything lol. Odd intro level. Looks like Samus got stripped of all her powers again though, like in Dread. Probably gonna need to beat stuff to reacquire them.
I land on the planet and see a crawl space behind the ship with something in it. Need ball mode. I explore the landing area. Multiple doors. Is this a hub world or something? =O
I can reach only 2 doors right now it seems. I head into one on the right of the ship on a ledge I can just walk and jump up.

A small corridor. Seemed empty but 2 aliens hop out of the sand. I scan around... I should be scanning the enemies shouldn't I... oh well. I continue down the corridor into an outdoor area with some spikey enemies. I can't kill one of them.... a red one. The blue ones I can kill. I progress up a path to a door and kill some plant thing after scanning it. Door ahead is blocked off by something I can't interact with atm.

I head back and scan the red spikey thing. I scan a bunch of other still living enemy things in the area for journal entries.
I can see another path higher up but no way to it so I go to the only door I can reach now. I blast some more spikey beetles and sap sacs and come across an elevator. I scan it and use it.

Chozo Ruins
Chozo Ruins... new area. What was I in before... Tallon Overworld.
I kill a couple beetles and get a cutscene as I enter the ruins.

I then kill some more beetles as I notice another door I can't use yet on the left. I can see two glowy power-ups out of reach as I navigate the area. I platform my way to a door and kill some slithering things behind it. A ball mode passage.
I head for the only remaining passage and kill another swarm of small slithering things before coming across a creature that functions like a... scanner? I can only shoot it to stun it apparently. I need to shoot them and rush through. Their laser beam damages you apparently.

The room beyond has a couple beetle enemies and a bunch of stuff to scan, including some 'chozo lore'. Some war wasps show up on the upper level. I notice a ball mode puzzle. Two ways to go. I head into a door and fight some scarab enemies.
I enter the next passage and fight some wasps again. I drop down... 2 ball mode drop downs looks like... also a weakpoint in a wall, but can't interact with it yet.

Some Plazmites in the next passage. I destroy a crate for some red hp pickup. Next area I try to cross a bridge after exploring but a cutscene triggers and the place floods. The thing I was going for gets caged. The machine releases Ram War wasps which circle me and then strike. I endure 3 waves with each wave adding more of them. I shoot the device when they're all dead, in between waves.
The machine releases the thing I was going for again. Looks like a rocket launcher.
Missile Launcher Acquired. Yep.

I shoot the thing on the door with the rocket and see a purple glowy thing. Energy Tank acquired. Ah.
I blow up some crates for Rocket ammo. There's a small ball shaped tunnel here too. No choice but to head back.
Some conveniently located ceiling pieces drop down to let me out the room. On the way back I try shooting a Rocket into the weakened wall. Missile Expansion behind it.

I blow up the nearby rocket door thingy and see a hologram. I download the area map.
A bit further back I hit up the side chamber I skipped earlier. A save station. Don't mind if I do.

I head back to near the entrance of the level and scan another glowy wall now that I know that it's info.
I then blow up the nearby rocket door and enter the passage behind it.
I murder some small enemies again and enter a big chamber. I can see Ball mode across the way. I drop down and fight a horde of beetles.
After taking them down a ramming boss beetle shows up. Only vulnerable from the rear. I manage to take it down, but it did a lot of damage to me. I run up to the ball to regain Ball mode. Aka Morph Ball.

I roll through the hole to get out again. I try rolling up the ramps but get told I need an upgrade for the Morph Ball.
I try blowing up the wall with cracks in it, but can't. Need a bigger boom I guess.
Back to the main passage. And back to the end of the area again. Should be able to enter that ball hole if nothing else.

Beyond is a passage with pistons pushing me up. I end up at a new elevator. I head to the room beyond it. A magnetic track I can't use.
I head to the other door in the elevator room. I follow the ball mode path and come across a big room with a center area that's blocked off. One of the three thingies is empty.... looks rather ball shaped. Need an upgrade for jumping I guess.
I follow the passage through for some beetle enemies and an Energy Tank at the end. Could go back for the elevator.

Nah, I drop down to do some parkour to get to the ball mode passage here again. I roll through into a large room with toxic water.
Two ways out... I take the furthest one and navigate a short passage with new bat enemies.
A large room with Reaper tentacles and poison water surrounding a tree. I shoot some red grass to scan a Rune. Need 3 more in this room.
Need either a upgrade for ball mode or the grappling thing to go further up.

I take the other passage after blowing up the cover blocking the door and go through a narrow pipe corridor.
I enter a large room again. 3 paths. I check the map and go for the shortest one. I blow up the cover and behind it is a save room. Don't mind if I do.

Judging from the map the other path might have some sort of map exit so I parkour my way up to the third option. After a passageway I end up in a room where I can go left or right and poison water dead ahead. I check both sides and come across a Stone Toad. If I ball mode it swallows me, but I lack the strength to kill it right now.
I enter the only remaining option, a sequence of ball passageways.

I arrive in a big room. Boss fight time. Barbed War wasps. Some flamethrower thingy pisses them off and it's trying to roast me. I defeat it fairly easily tbh. Morph Ball Bomb acquired.
I use it to blow open a ball passage for a Missile Expansion in the boss room before heading back.

When I get to the Stone Toad again I let it swallow me and blow it up. Beyond it is a generator of some sort that I activate by bombing it. It drains the toxic water revealing another generator. I do the same there. Some platforms rise. I head over and follow. I bomb another generator and more platforms rise and a door is unlocked now.
I head beyond it and follow a ball mode tunnel for an Energy Tank.

I go back. There's also a magnetic rail thing here. Can't use it yet.
I go back to the save room and then head into the other direction here.
The door leads to a passage with more toxic plants and some bats and toxic water. At the end is another rocket shield blocking the door thing.

I enter a large room with toxic water. A platforming path up and a poison waste platform below. I follow the bottom path to a Rune that I activate. On the way back I notice another one on the floor and activate it. Two more.
I try ball modeing into a hole in the toxic water and nearly kill myself. I follow the upper path through and scan a lore thing through a gap and then a 3rd rune on the side next to the gate. 1 remains. I can't find it and head back. I find it to the right of the entry on the wall. A new symbol shows up on the thing and I head over. Door isn't opening... do I need to find one more?

While I stand around wondering what to do a new message pops up telling me the source of the toxin has been located.
I try scanning the door and it works. It opens and I scan the stuff behind it. Then I jump down to collect whatever that is. Charge Beam acquired.
The eyeball thingies activate and I can kill them with charged shots it seems. I blow up some blockage in a hole in the wall with bomb mode ball mode. I roll in to a rocket cover door and shoot it open.

A short passage and another missile door. I shoot it and enter. I scan some stuff and blow up a piece of the wall for a Missile Expansion. There's a magnetic rail thing here, but I can't use it so I head back all the way to the save station.
I then look at the map and head back to the tree room. Probably can't access the path up yet but let's see.

I use Ball mode to take me to new areas now that I can bomb with it and find and scan all 4 runes to open a door.
I bomb a sandstone wall and roll through so I can shove a rocket into a door. I then navigate a couple hallways full of venomweed and reaper scythe or whatever those tentacle things were called. I end up in a large room that's the source of the toxin. Boss fight?

Some kind of giant plant/mantis hybrid thing. I can shoot and stun it, but it doesn't damage it. I see nothing to interact with as some sort of plant tentacle things are blocking the path to ball mode bombing spots.
I eventually notice a targeting reticle near one of the sunlight dishes. I shoot it and it stuns the boss and the tentacles retract so I can ball mode roll over and bomb it.

It retracts and the sunlight things activate again. Two now. I shoot one, stun the boss and walk to the other one and it gets stunned again. I then ball mode bomb it again. Gonna need to repeat that once more I think, probably with all 3 sunlight thingies up.
Yep. 3 out of 4 sunlight thingies lit up. Didn't notice the 4th. Once more then, undoubtedly.
Yep. The boss goes down and some new powerup comes into view. Varia suit acquired.

I continue out the path behind the new suit. Some hallways with a submerged section and some Pulse Bombu thing that I can't kill.
I end up at the top of a magnet ball section. I jump down and head for the elevator. Magmoor Caverns North. Probably where I'm supposed to go since that suit said it lets me enter hot areas.

I take a passage backward and try bomb jumping as a ball into a key hole for a gate thing. Too high.
I navigate to a passage I skipped earlier on and end up in a lava passage. Gonna assume jumping in is a no-no. Need the grappling hook to advance here. The only other undiscovered path required some ball mode upgrade I don't think I have.

I head back towards the first save station to do some ball mode bomber stuff in the wall for a Missile Expansion.
I then head to a passage nearby where I ballmode bomb myself into a corridor for another Missile Expansion.
I then continue following the path back to the elevator and take it down.

Magmoor Caverns.
After the elevator room is a shaft down with moving platforms to get back up.
I navigate a corridor with some bats and come across a rocket shield door. I blow it up for a save station.
Further down the corridor seems to be a side platform up, but I can't reach it so I deal with some bats and a new enemy I can only kill with Rockets.

The next corridor has more of these but with platforms across lava and flames shooting out of the wall. I jump across and fight a new Burrower enemy. Some kind of spider like thing that tunnels and pops out.
I go through a door and enter a large lava filled cavern. Magmoor, some kind of lava serpent. Also some green gas balls. I kill a bunch of them and platform around to the other side. There's a grapple thingy, but that seems to be more of a shortcut back tbh.

I blow up some cracked walls in ball mode and then shoot some puffballs on the other side. I platform over the lava and head for a new door. Beyond it is a new beetle like enemy underneath some fire spitting contraption. Need to get past them while in ball mode it seems.
Can't kill them and they carry you back an yeet you out if they catch you, dealing some damage to you while doing so.
They nab me multiple times due to some seriously questionable hitboxes, but I get across.

In the next room are a whole bunch of vents. Large room. Some puffballs. More of those beetle things under the floor. A pit with a way into there. Two paths aside from that. I platform my way up left to a door. Beyond it is a small moving platform section with puffballs.
Beyond that is a large room with a central... station of some sort. 3 doors out. I ignore the initial one on the lower left.
There's some security turrets I need to destroy on my way over. I platform my way up and deal with some puffballs and then scan stuff once inside. Nothing of interest.

Upper left door seems inaccessible atm so I take the right side door here. A ball mode corridor and I roll my butt into the lava and lose a bunch of health. I come across an Elevator. Phendrana Drifts. New area? I haven't found anything here yet @_@
I head back and take a bunch of damage from the respawned turrets. I take the other available exit.
A lava filled passage with unkillable beetles and a lava serpent. Some grapple area I can't reach. I use ball mode to reach a new area.
There was also a glass tunnel on the way over I might be able to blow up judging from what the scan said.

I take a highly perilous ball rolling side path for a Missile Tank. I continue to the next passage and come across a lava serpent and nearly die. Fell into lava in the area before this. I continue on and come to an elevator room. Tallon Overworld West. There's a door onward, but might wanna dip back for a quick save at the ship if possible.

Tallon Overworld.
I shoot some spikey bugs in a corridor and drop down into a large cavern. I then make my way up shooting more beetles and some plants here and in the next corridor. There's a way up further with the grapple. I exit and realize I'm in a tunnel I've been before, just from the other side. Had to blow up a rocket cover to get out.

I head towards the ship and do a ball mode roll in the cavern behind it for a Missile Expansion. I roll through another ball hole into a puddle near the other door I could've entered long ago. A corridor with some plants where I need to ball mode and shoot a door with a rocket for a large new room. 2 humanoids? I try to approach and they fire a couple shots before flying off. Didn't even get to scan them.

I explore the area and head into the water. I can see a Missile Tank, but it's unreachable atm. I can't exit out the other side either. Can barely jump or bomb ball up underwater. Probably need another suit upgrade to go here. I head back to the ship for a save.

I then platform to a door I haven't been to and enter. Some blue blob that shoots spikes here. Beyond it a glass tunnels of sorts.

Impact Crater.
I scan a thingy for some information and shoot a door with a rocket shortly after.
I scan some walls for Chozo lore and head down. Some sort of sliding puzzle thing? No... no interaction other than a Chozo Artifact at the center that I can scan. I then pick it up. Artifact of Truth, 1st of twelve. Dang. Haven't even seen any so far lol
Collecting all will open a path to the center of the impact crater.

One of the statue thingies activates and I can scan a bunch more of them for hints. One of them mentions Magmoor. Gonna be heading back there anyway. Need to find a Shrine in the honor of warriors for the Artifact of Strength.

I save at my ship again and head back to Magmoor. In the passage before the elevator I check underneath the bridge at the glowy part to see if I can stand on this without being hurt. I can. There's a Missile Expansion under the bridge.

Magmoor Caverns.
So there's the room with the ball stuff under the floor left. Also an unexplored path in the elevator room, now on my immediate left. I'll go there first. I enter and see a lava passage and a magnetic ball mode track. No way past here without it.

Back to the central passage with the ball mode beneath the floor then. Gonna be quite the backtrack. I try blowing up the glass corridor on the way... need a bigger boom for it I guess.
I arrive at the room with the ball mode underneath the floor thing. I roll to a ball passage on the right. I hop up on the other side for a door.

A short corridor with some cages over lava with a Missile Expansion. Don't see anything else under here. Gonna assume the artifact to be in one of the areas I can't reach yet.
Well there isn't anything else new here... except the other elevator out, which the game keeps telling me to go to lol
I head over to it and take the elevator. Need more upgrades.

Phendrana Drifts.
I quickly explore the elevator room and head into an icy passage. I use charged shot to blow up an ice wall to progress.
I do this twice more to exit out the passage into a big open area with lots of snow and ice. Honey, I'm home.
I head left a bit and jump across a river and see a Missile Expansion frozen in ice behind some pillar.
I can enter a door nearby but platform up instead to arrive at a locked door. Seems to be the only way to progress as I need some sort of jump booster to progress anywhere else.

I scan around first before leaving and see text on the nearby grating that makes me shoot a missile at it to blow it up. I kill one of the new icicle bergmite like things that are in this area and ball mode my way to the back for a console. It unlocks the door above upon being scanned.
Okay 2 ways to go now. I go to the door I just unlocked and enter. I blast some ice blocking the passage away and see a red version of that bombu thing. This one keeps shooting electric currents. Scanner says to ball mode roll past it.

I do so and go past another one before a door takes me back outside again. New enemy; Baby Shegoth. Only vulnerable from the shell on their back. I eventually whittle them down but took a lot of damage. Would've been easier with just one of them tbh.
I explore the area and find another Missile tank inside of a ice wall. Also some room inside with orange glowy thingies I can't interact with. I follow the passage around and up to the other exit, killing some Metroid Bergmites on the way.

A cave passage with several Ice burrowers follows and then I end up at a door taking me back to the large open area again, but higher up.
I go across the ledge to a new door and there's some pulse bombus in here. Nothing else here but some crates so I progress into the next area. I see some more of those Baby Shegoth things on the left so I head right into a dwelling. I can't jump high enough to go further up but I scan for some Chozo lore.

Back outside I end up activating the shegoths by breaking some crates and I take a bunch of damage dealing with them again. Feels like it went easier than last time. I explore the remainder of the ground floor and find another structure I can enter, but nothing there. I see a purple barrier door up high and a rocket blast door down below in a corner. There's a stalactite that says it can be dislodged when scanned but neither rockets nor charged shots are doing anything.

I blow up the rocket door and use ball mode to go past 2 red bombu thingies and enter a new open area. I jump down and scan a glowy wall for lore. I broke the crates so no way back up. Another drop down. I can see a Shegoth below. I trigger it prematurely and can easily shoot it down from above.
I interact with a device to realign some platforms. I turn around and follow a passage back. Just a way back up.
I follow the path below the platforms. Nothing.

I then go the platforms and see I can probably jump off of them to the left for a new area. I do so and it's just a way back up to the top. The 2 platforms I hopped on are gone. I do the realignment thing again hoping to make them show up again.
Yep. I follow them all the way and see a ball powerup. Boost Ball acquired.

I can't resummon the platforms now and have to roll back and forth in the smooth ice passage while boosting to launch myself up. I then backtrack.
This doesn't open anything new here so I head back to the large open room near the start. A short cutscene with metaldactyl flying over upon return.

I try jumping down on the platform in the air and yeet myself over with the speed ball, but no luck. I head for the door on the lower level I skipped. Just a save station. I scan the panels on the wall and save.
I don't think there's anything I can do here right now. Only place I remember that requires this powerup is in that chozo temple thing.

I head back to the elevator and pass through Magmoor Caverns.

Magmoor Caverns.
While on the way to the Chozo Ruins elevator I come across a sus looking pillar and shoot it with rockets. It reveals an artifact but I can't jump to it. I see a grapple thing nearby. Need to return later it seems.
I hit up the save station on the way out and while jumping up the platforms the game tells me it's found a halfpipe like structure in Talon overworld. That's nice.... I didn't notice one in that area, but I'm checking the one I'm remembering first though =P

Chozo Ruins.
While I pass through the vault and mess about trying to get into the upper thingie I blow up the cover on the middle one. I bomb ball into it and trigger the lock. I then do the same with the lower one. 2 down 1 to go... how do I get into it though.
I mess around with the controls and X makes me jump in ball mode... I had no idea I could do that xD
I jump and place a bomb and jump again to get launched into the 3rd slot. The cage opens. I grab the Missile Expansion inside.

I go back to the Ruined Shrine area and speed up the halfpipe. I can see a purple covered door on the far side. Looks like both side of the halfpipe have a ball hole. I enter the one near me. A Missile Expansion.
The other side just leads to a magnetic rail to the purple cover door.

I head back to the main area and take the elevator back to the Tallon Overworld.

Metroid Prime Remastered.

Tallon Overworld.
I head back through a corridor and see the walls just outside are like a halfpipe. Never even registered for me lol
Takes a bit of practice but I manage to get up them. I navigate past some spikey enemies and blow up a couple walls in ball mode for a new passage. A corridor with some spikeys leads back to the area with the space ship.
I keep following the new path up along the ledges to another door.

A drop down into a room with some kind of powerup. Nothing else here so I pick it up. Space Jump Boots acquired.
I use the newly unlocked double jump to get back out and go to the ship for a save.

Now where... could go back to the ice area. Should be more stuff I can reach there now. Let's check the area with the lake where 2 humanoids fled me first though. New enemies here. Some Jellzap thing I can only kill with a charged shot when it's open.
I navigate the underwater around until I end up somewhere high.
I blow up some crates to reveal a white door. Can't open it with my current weapon. So a dead end then.

I try for the missile tank underwater for quite a while but seem to keep coming up just short =(
I head back to the Chozo Ruins elevator.

Chozo Ruins.
I see a little ramp in the main hallway and boost my way up for a Missile Expansion. Didn't notice this till now lol
I take the long way round for the elevator down into Magmoor Caverns.

Magmoor Caverns.
I try double jumping up to the ledge near the save station. Invisible wall.

I progress to the room with the Chozo Artifact I uncovered some time ago and double jump to it. Guess I don't need the grapple for it.
Artifact of Nature obtained. So it's not the Strength one then... means there's 1 more in this place.
The Artifact of Wild kinda sounds like where I fought that plant boss... I can't re-access that though... can I ? Might be able to from the magnetic track side, but otherwise probably not. Tried short-cutting though the way you get to the plant boss earlier on and it was still blocked.

Several seem to be referring to ruins... probably Chozo Ruins, there's a bunch of out of reach areas there.
I explore around with my newfound mobility and in the large chamber with some kind of research station or whatever I find a platform I can double jump to, which lets me get on top of the station. A machine where I can power a bridge with boost ball mode.

After extending it I double jump off it to a ledge, which leads me along a lengthy path to a new door. Behind it is an altar with a Chozo Artifact. Artifact of Strength, the one I was after.
I can see a passage on the map to a chamber underneath. But it's blocked. I look up what I need to blow up this dang material I keep bumping into and see I need a power bomb. Don't have it yet.

I roll towards the exit for the ice area and during the ball section before it I try out the hop into air and place a bomb to hop higher thing to access a new path. I do it a couple more times and end up with an Energy Tank. There's probably more hidden in those sidescroller ball rolling sections...
I continue towards the elevator.

Phendrana Drifts.
I first hit up the save station. I then search the passage I've already been for stuff. I find a magnetic ball thing I hadn't noticed before. Can't use it though.
I navigate to the house further down the path where I scanned some Chozo lore but couldn't go higher at the time. I double jump my way up and shoot the icicle with a rocket again. This time it actually just drops down. Did I need to be in this exact spot for it... oh well.

I jump to it and onto the rooftops. I see something beneath some ice on one of them. doesn't look like a regular missile tank. wth is that.
Seems aside from that this is just a path to the purple door and nothing else. I head back to the main room.
I head over to the temple looking thing and scan a wall statue. Power Conduit behind it supposedly, can't seem to break it atm.
I enter the door and navigate a passage with some bombus.

Next is a temple hall full of enemies. The ice thing that can only be hit from behind is the most troublesome one. A new ice parasite enemy, but it dies in a couple regular shots. I platform my way up and come across 4 statues, 3 are remarked to be flawless, the other has stress fractures. One rocket destroys it. A ball thingy behind it. I enter it in ball mode and kuhboom it to open up a passage.
Nothing else here it seems. I go through the door and then a ball mode passage where I go back and forth between 2 layers to destroy some pillars so I can advance.

At the end is a door and beyond it is a large room. Some kind of powerup. Game wants me to go here, gotta be some sort of boss here.
Can't go back out, door blocked by purple thingy. I expect a boss but none shows and I approach the powerup after scanning it. It retracts as I approach and some Ice sheegoth thingies spawn in. I focus on one and after killing it another spawns in. I focus on one of them again and then a wall lowers and another shows up. After killing all 4 a big version shows up, bursting through the wall. Guess I pissed of their mommy.

I scan it to figure out it's weakness.. concussive blasts.... so rockets? I need to shoot rockets into it's mouth after it uses it's frost breath attack. I keep unloading into it and get a missiles low message. It dies before I actually run out though.
Wave Beam acquired.

On the way back out some pulse bombu thingies show up and the wave beam can kill them =O
After exiting the temple I hit up the save station. I then navigate to the other purple door in this area. Beyond it is a scarab and Bombu infested passage. A large room with some spinner platforms and a magnetic ball mode track lies ahead. Gonna ignore that last one.
I use both spinner platforms to open some... vents? Idk. A bomb ball thingy powers up afterward. I go to it and explode on it.

Water comes out of the opened passages and the water levels rises to where I am. I navigate across the floats to another ball hole for an Energy Tank. The water drained away after some time. I drop down a ball hole and get punted back to the base level.
I make the water rise again so I can get to the top of the area. Three way split. Rocket door. Purple door. Normal door.
Normal door is locked it seems. There's a statue that when scanned mentions a power conduit above it. Can't seem to interact with it yet.

I jump to the rocket door and shoot it open. I scan 2 terminals and then use the save station.
I head to the purple door and a turret and a new shadow pirate greet me in the hallway behind it. I enter through another door and a cutscene plays locking me in with some shadow pirates.

I use rockets to blast through them as they are quite tanky and deal a lot of damage. Two doors out, I head for the purple one. A passage with some red bombus. I end up at a Research lab where I scan a console to lower a barrier after I which I fight a couple turrets and a whole bunch of space pirate enemies. Afterward I scan everything in the lab and gain several Pirate data logs.
At the top is another purple door... in the roof. I shoot it and double jump up into a passage with several turrets.

Beyond it is a large room with more pirates to kill. I scan everything afterward before scanning the thing the cutscene showed me.
I use a couple ball mode bomb thingies to power a generator and then spin out in place a couple times in all 4 spinner slots to activate it.
A holographic map of what is likely this solar system shows up and some platforms extend.
I use them to go up and blow up a rocket door for a save station behind it.

I jump to the powerup above the holo map in the previous room. Super Missile Acquired. I head through the purple door beyond it.
Some bombus and Metroid bergmites. Beyond it an elevator room to a Control Tower.
I head back quite a way for the regular door I skipped. A map room. I grab the free map and scan the wall panels and then head back to the elevator. On the way back I blow up a thingie that the scan said had fractures. A Missile Expansion is revealed. I also hit the save station up again on the way to the elevator.

Oh this just goes up, it's not an area swap elevator. I shoot a purple door again. I'm on a roof with some pirates again. After killing them flying pirates show up. I run low on rockets again but get through it fairly easy.
I go through the purple door that's now unlocked and down another elevator. Then I go through a passage with more bombus.

I walk into another research lab. A cutscene with a monster from another metroid game probably. I scan it and it bursts out of it's containment thingy and I have to kill it. Eats more ammo than I'd like.
A pirate jumps through a window and I kill it. I then scan everything here and proceed through the new opening. I deal with all the space pirates here and then start scanning everything.

I see a Missile Pack on some ball roll thingy. I jump to where it starts and carefully roll to it.
There's an Energy pack in one of the stasis thingies. Do I just shoot it? I try the super missile on the tank with the brain sucker thingy. It comes out. Okay then, gotta kill it and then do the same for the energy Tank.
I shoot some crates to reveal a purple door. I drop down and fight some ice beetles after scanning one.

I enter a large chamber and fight a few space pirates again. I scan some stuff and undo a containment field on my soon to be new powerup form the looks. This feels too easy. There's Metroids behind containment fields though... probably gonna burst out after collecting the powerup?
On my way down I scan another console to lower another containment layer. Just the yellow rings left now.
On the bottom floor I deal with some turrets and then scan the final thing for removing the yellow rings. Thermal Visor Acquired.

Well I can't open the white door down here so I need to go back up. The power goes out and I have to fight some space pirates in the dark with the new visor. Not what I was expecting to show up, but they're easier to kill at any rate.
On the way up they bust out any way, only 3 though. I shoot a wall panel to open the purple door again. I then get my visor jammed by something in a tight corridor and lose almost all my energy tanks to it before it dies. Or they die. Might've been 2 things.

I then try to go back when the game says the doors have been unlocked to see if I can use the white one and just jump down. I get killed by everything respawning and ganging up on me. First death.
Oh no... now I gotta redo that entire section. Lame. Really need manual saves to stop this sort of bs. Died due to curiosity and I'm getting punished for it. Blegh.

I notice I can enter the areas above the purple doors on the roof top on the way back. One of them has as an Ice thingy that can be melted for something.
Once I get back to where I was I fight some more space pirates and turrets in the dark until I get back to the bombus before going to the roof again. I fight the rocket dudes on the roof and it's back into the darkness.

I get to the big room with the save station attached to it. I use the save station and then head down again.
I head all the way back to the room where there was a 3 way split and first hit up the save station.
Then I head to the door I previously couldn't open and look around with Thermal Vision.

I try to shoot where the thing is. Nothing. I then yeet a super missile into it to remove the cover. Can only use super missile with the energy blaster, not the wave thing. Shooting it doesn't do anything now. Back to wave thing. It powers up the circuit and the door can now be used. Beyond it is a passage with some bombu and then a ball section.
I open the purple door at the end and there's a small passage before a drop down. Something big in the snow. Out of scanning range. Once I drop down it's probably gonna be a boss fight. Oh well. I jump down.

A cutscene and some rocks come together to form a golem. I launches an ice spike attack that freezes you if it connects. It also sends rocks flying at you and forms into a giant boulder and rolls around. I have to use the Thermal Visor to see its weak point and target it. Once it takes enough damage the visor will be overloaded and I have to use the regular one, but the weakpoint will be blue so I can just shoot it. I repeat this sequence while trying to dodge as much of it's attacks as possible until it goes down. Takes 5 rounds.
After 2 rounds it summons lightning for a while and then the arena becomes foggy, which makes the non thermal vision part harder to hit it and keep track of it. For the 5th phase it undoes the fog for some reason and attacks more with pebble throwing.

The fight takes quite a while, but I live it with 3 energy tanks left so nothing too bad. It drops a new ball for me. Spider ball acquired. Should be able to take those magnetic things now.
I can use it to get back out the way I came or use a longer track to a new purple door. I do the latter and notice grapple thingies to another passage. Can't use them still though. I go through the purple door and then a ball section. I come across an area change elevator. Magmoor Caverns again =O

Magnetic track beyond it though, let's check that out first. Another white door up there so can't go here yet. I take the elevator to Magmoor.

Magmoor Caverns.
I'm in a new area of Magmoor. I check around the elevator and blow up a rocket cover behind it for a Save station.
Back to the elevator room and through it to the purple door. A short corridor with alternating flame spouts. I head through into a large room and lose half my energy to 3 jetpack pirates camping the entry.

Two ways out, I hop to the nearest one and end up in a passage with debris I can't blow up. Looks like there's a white door beyond them anyway. I head back to the large room. Some sort of device here that can be activated. A floor ball puzzle with those annoying beetles again. Hmmm no all three passages down here go through lava. Is there a fireproof upgrade? I'm not sure I can go through this fast enough and still live. I head back out and look around in Thermal vision. Ah there's 3 invisible thingies I need to shoot.

I shoot them and the pump activates. One of the passages can now be used. I head over and scan a panel to cool down another passage. I hear the alarm bell thing indicating it's a temporary thing so I rush over and scan another panel. Same sound so I rush over to the next one. Energy Tank inside.

I head for the remaining door and go through. A Lava spore enemy. Giant rock like looking thing that open and shuts and ejects lava. I shoot it when open and it keels over. It's not dead though, just stunned and can now be used as a stepping stone. There's a couple burrowers on the other end of a purple door. Through it is another big chamber, with more of those lava rocks that become stepping stones. I hop up the left and see a grapple thingy. Scan just says rotating lift platforms are working.

No way up for me. Map reveals a white door there anyway. *shrugs*
I follow the bottom path over the lava spores and go through a door. A passage with a Magmoor and a hanging rock I can shoot down. I cross to the other side and go through a purple door. A large room with more rocks to be shot down from the ceiling. Bunch of those puffballs here too. Some Magmoors as well. I get a message telling me to go to Chozo Ruins again.

After crossing the first part there's some flames I need to roll under and a smaller chamber. I drop a ceiling rock onto a Magmoor here and progress to the other side. I see another grappling thingy. I press on and roll underneath a flame again and enter the next room.
I follow a magnet ball track along to the other side of some lava. Too far to jump.
Next area is a elevator room and I ride it up to the overworld.

Tallon Overworld.
On the way out of this area I look at the top to see if I can go higher now... no... double jump won't reach that. Really think I need the grapple for this.
I head straight for the elevator to the Chozo Ruins from here.

Chozo Ruins.
I take the first corridor left and use the ball ramp and magnetic ball track to reach the purple door. Beyond it is an empty corridor followed by a large chamber. Boss fight perhaps. Tower of Light though... didn't one of the Artifacts reference a Tower of Light?
I'll see later... probably gonna fight something first. I step in.

Oh no boss?
I platform up top and a pillar seems to be blow-up-able. I do so with a mega missile and the scan says it no longer provides support. I see 3 more cracked pillars.
I check the artifacts hints first. Artifact of Lifegiver mentions a tower where Light always shines. Probably the one. "Move through the waters to find the artifact"... oh I go down first then? I jump into the water.
I go into a passage but can't get enough height to jump up a wall.

I platform back up and shoot the pillars at the top to make the tower collapse a bit. some blue puffball things come out but I jump up to a new platform. And up once more. I see more cracked walls and shoot them all again. 2 of them I need to time my shots or they'll hit an eyeball thing and bounce off. The tower collapses again. Puffballs appear again.

I jump further up and repeat. Now all 4 have eyeball thingies. I shoot 3 and am 1 Rocket short of shooting the last one.
I head back a couple rooms to the scarabs for a missile refill and when I return the floors I collapsed are reset. That's some serious magix. I then run back again for the scarabs to now fully stock up on missiles. Gotta do this in one go it seems.

I make my way through all 3 collapsing floors without missing. 15 missile ammo left over. Then I just hop up some platform for an upgrade. Wavebuster Acquired. I eats through my remaining 15 missiles in like a second when I try it out.

I make my way to the save station and then start heading towards the area where the game wants me to go. I come to an elevator with the wasp room beyond it with runes and a magnetic rail. I blow up 2 ornaments with stonks missiles to uncover runes. I scan them and find the 3rd and 4th on the back of pillars up high. I ride the rail up and see some white ghostly thing dash off into the next corridor.

Upon re-entering the mantis flower thing's room I fight 4 ghostly things dashing around like crazy and once they're all down an Artifact spawns in. Artifact of Wild acquired.
The vines disappear now. I head out the other door and go back to the 2nd save chamber.

I keep heading into the direction of the chamber the game wants me to go to. I come across a magnet track again in the furnace area. I go up it and follow the ball path across. A large chamber. Plated Parasites as a new enemy. A white door across the way.
I jump down and dispatch some beetles that showed up and scan some Chozo Lore. Nothing else here...? I mean I see the magnet track, but like how the heck do I get up there.

I scan around and a floor has a weak spot. Neither the super missile or the Wave pulse does anything to it. Okay now what.
I get stuck for a while but eventually notice a ball hole underneath the Chozo script I scanned... son of a... how'd I miss that xD
I roll through and navigate a passage for another room.

Another white door to the side and a halfpipe in front. I roll up to the other side and blast a decoration to reveal a purple thingie behind it. Not sure what this does... was the passage already open? I look behind and see a Missile Tank way up high, no visible way over to it. I go through the passage to advance. I blow up a missile cover and go through a scarab hallway.

I fight another ghost thing in the next hall and a statue has a glow spot in it's hands... maybe stand in it?
I first check out the ball hole off to the side near where I entered. Missile refill.
I scan stuff in the room including some Chozo lore. I then stand in the glowing statue hands... nothing... I see a ball mode thing high up with a track to it, but it starts too high. Maybe ball mode in the statue's hands? The statue yeets me onto the magnet track, was not expecting that.

I let it yeet me again and press the magnet button to stick to the track. I ball bomb in the hole up there. 3 glowing things light up behind the statue. Red one is heat related. White one is cold related. Have neither. I use the purple one. The floor rotates and makes a new path below. I use the statue again to yeet me into a tube onto this new path. After the ball section I scan a panel to deactivate a barrier and then go through a door. The other things are lit back up again, but can't use the white and red ones anyway.

A small passageway leads to a large chamber with Stone Toads. Previous room was Hall of Elders though... one of the artifacts referenced it I think. Gonna need to go back there with the white and red door weapons anyway most likely though.

I jump into the water and ball mode bomb a grate to drain it. Now what though... I use the pool as a halfpipe to destroy the stone toads on the lower floor and accomplish nothing.... am I supposed to roll up one of the pillars with these crappy camera angles?
Ah you just need to hold off the stick when airborne so it doesn't make you leave the pipe while in ball form. I make it up to one of the upper toads after a couple tries and explode him. I rocket the nearby door and hit up the save station behind.

Ball hole behind though. I follow it for an elevator to Tallon Overworld East =O
Back to the pool room. White door up here. Rocket door across. I shoot the rocket door and double jump over.
A powerup. Ice Beam.

Do I go back to the Hall of elders to try the white thingy or use the white door here...? I use the white door. A short corridor and another elevator. Tallon Overworld South.
I enter the Hall of Elders and fight 3 ghostly things. I then try the white door. A short passage to another white door. Furnace room. Some more ghosties show up and I kill them too. No visible reward for this though.

I head back to the Hall of Elders and use the white wall thingie. I follow the path for an Energy Tank and go back out.
I then try the other white door and it leads back to the other halfpipe in this area after a short corridor.
I go back again and the ghosts are back again. I ignore their butts this time and head for the drained pool.

I go up to hit up the save station and then use the elevator behind it.

Tallon Overworld.
I go through some corridors with spikeys and some hostile grass and funghi for a Missile Expansion and end up back at the white door near the downed freighter.
No way back up but I jump down for the other white door here. A passageway into a dropdown. A short underwater and then ball rolling section and I end up in a chamber with 2 turrets.

After destroying them I scan the wall and get the use your thermal visor message so I power the circuit and continue. A passage with a scarab enemy, function wise. Tallon crabs. I follow a passage into a large underwater chamber and the game tells me to go to the ice area. Can't jump high enough to go up so I go down as far as I can. Aqua Reaper tentacle enemy... I shoot them all gone once and then explore around. I head up a side path and through the door there.... no, it has no power.

Heat visor mode again and I shoot the 4 panels and go back to open it. A hallway with another door like this. I shoot the two hidden panels with the heat visor and unlock it. I then go into the side door for a save station.
I head through the large door and use a concussive blast on a lift door for an Energy Tank.

I then get the message power suit upgrade required as I try to get past this area. I head back outside and then all the way back to the ship for a save.

Chozo Ruins.
I head back to the Chozo Ruins the long way round now.
I come across more ghosties in the Arboretum. I hit up the save station behind it and go back to the Furnace and then the Hall of Elders.
I ignore the ghosties and hit up the Save station in the frog room.
I then take the other elevator here.

Tallon Overworld.
A hallway with some seedlings and then a large room with them and those annoying flowers who only die to their own projectile vomit.
There's like 4 other ways out of here according to the map.

Some vines/roots blocking the way down. Lower path leads to a locked gate opened by a spinner thingy on the other side.
There's a magnetic track on a pole starting from one of the platforms. Not much else here atm.
At the top is a white door. I did notice a side door behind the vines but couldn't reach it... might be able to from here, but would rather advance through the white door. Nope blocked up by something I can't destroy again, in the passage behind it. Guess I'll try jumping to the other door.

Nope. Seems to be a dead end so I take the elevator back.

Chozo Ruins.
I take the elevator behind the nearby save point back up.

Tallon Overworld.
I head for the ship and make a save again. Bit of a back and forth hassle lol
I take an elevator to Magmoor and head for the the elevator to the ice place.

Phendrana Drifts.
I run to the save station here and then check my map for where to go.
There's a white door near the other Magmoor Caverns transition. Dang.
Also one at the research core. Both are going to be long treks.
I first jump back to the temple entry and blow up the thingie on the side. It opens up a passage upon scanning it again. I magnet ball my way up to a Missile Expansion.

I set off for the save station at the four way split but soon come to a room where baby sheegoths used to be and now a big one is. I kill it to see if something happens. No.
Oh wait there was a magnet rail here. I platform up and ride it for a Missile Expansion.
On the way to the save station the enemies have changed again. Lots of those jetpack annoyances. Also the drone enemies.

I take the path to where the rock golem was. There's a big sheegoth here now. I ignore it and head for the elevator and pass it for the magnet track to the white door.
A meltable wall is in my face and I kill the bombu to progress to the next purple door.

I enter a large chamber with 3 other purple doors. A ball passage leading down to platforms to the next purple door down. Or I jump off left and it's the same. Some enemies here that don't actively attack you, the cloaking bat things and the parasites.
I enter the door and the passage connects to a white door. Ah look this is back at the research facility. I'm glad I took the path I took then. The other white door path would've been much longer and it connects to the same place lol

I go back and navigate to the next purple door down. A short passage followed by a ball section followed by an ice beetle fight. Another purple door. A large cavern follows with a new glider enemy. Docile. Can ride it in magnetic ball mode. 2 exits here. New hunter metroid. I explore the place and see a Missile Tank frozen in ice. The 2 purple doors are barely out of reach. I can't seem to get up to the glider thingy... dead end I guess?

Two scanable things on the ceiling... oh ceiling rocks to rocket so that they fall. I can reach the purple doors now, but not the glider still. I enter the right one for a Save station.
Back to the cavern and the other purple door. A lengthy ball mode section with a meltable wall at the end.

A large chamber beyond the purple door. I try going up but need the grappling hook. I go back down. Nothing above water so I head in the water and find a purple door down there. I navigate a passage with bombu to another one. It ends up in a large cave where I shoot 3 more ceiling rocks down to become stepping stones. I check the water... nothing but some enemies.

Three purple doors, but I can only reach one so I head for it. A short bombu corridor into an underwater room, which seems to be my destination. I fight off some tentacles and jellyfish things as I navigate it. At the back of the chamber is an upgrade. Gravity Suit acquired.

Upon leaving the room I see a missile tank I try to jump too. Out of reach... I see a grapling hook submerged in ice. Need to have both the grappling hook and something to melt stuff to get it then.
I take the other purple door out and then follow the path to the other purple door here. I follow the passages all the way back to the Magmoor caverns elevator.

Magmoor Caverns.
I use the save station right behind the elevator to lock in the progress. Probably need to go to that freighter again now?
I try to reach up in the lift room, but lack height still. White door up there on the map. Not seeing anything else here atm.
I take the next elevator I come across back to the overworld.

Metroid Prime Remastered.

Tallon Overworld.
I run back to the ship to save. Gonna head back to the downed freighter. As good a place as any to search for the next upgrade.
On the way over I grab the Missile Expansion in the water before it, now that I can finally move freely in water.

I head back to the save point in the ship. I make my way up past the cage with the energy tank where I couldn't progress earlier. At the top is an unpowered door. I use thermal vision and get sent all the way back down to the cage where the last of three circuits is. Lame.
Beyond the door is a short passage and then a room with some turrets. I jump into the water and fight a couple new aqua drone enemies.

I scan around afterward and a wall has fractures again. I shoot it for a Missile Expansion. An unpowered door and they make me go back up for all three circuits... again. Such a lame trick to stall for some extra playtime.
I head through the door after powering it. A passage with some aqua tentacles.

Next is a larger room with some jetpack enemies again. I use Thermal vision after defeating them and notice a power conduit nearby. I see 2 more. I power them all to power the door. Looks like I can avoid backtracking for them by just using thermal vision more.
A tentacle passage follows and then a chamber where something explodes and a space pirate drifts up. I look around and up and then jump down. I blow up some new Aqua sacs and then exit into a small corridor.

Nothing here but a ball tunnel so I go ball mode and cross a ball section. I try going up high in a central passage here, but it seems to be too high up. Maybe with chained bomb jumps? I try for a bit, but suck too much for that, if it's even possible.
I progress into a large chamber that was already mapped. I make my way out of the water and then up. Ah I'm below the roots on the floor now. I spin in place in a spinner thingy to open up the gate that blocked me earlier.

Still can't reach the blue door at the top or blow up the thing blocking a passage to a white door here.
I check the map and see there's a white door further down. I go back down. Ah right I entered from underwater... for some reason I thought I came from that door. I enter and kill a couple seedlings and head across some radiation.

Next room is an elevator to Phazon Mines East. New area =O

Phazon Mines.
Nothing in the elevator exit room so I take the only door out. It leads to a short passage. A large open area beyond it with a structure of some sort. I shoot some turrets over a passage and scan some controls to disable a forcefield underneath them. That's one way opened. I can take a magnet ball track up to a purple door too. I then platform my way up to the roof and some space pirates attack.

Once I'm on the structure there's a magnet ball thing here too.... currently useless. I also see a white door across the way... probably need to realign the crane to reach that. Too far to jump.
I see the controls, but it needs power first. I jump down and head for the purple door.
A short collapsed passage and a thing I can scan to get access to a save station here.

I head back outside to the door beyond the forcefield I opened. A short passage with 2 turrets I destroy. I then scan and see a passage that can be blown up, but not yet. I head for the next door. A lengthy passage and as I try to look around I hear some noises and something invisible attacks me. I use the heat visor and kill some space pirates. Way back is locked. There's also a forcefield blocking off something. I progress through the passage and go up.

Some new enemies. Wave pirates, only vulnerable to the wave pulse weapon. Everything else just bounces off. I kill them and explore the floor. Another thing I can't blow up yet lacking the right kuhboom. I open a purple ceiling door and jump up into a small passage with some irradiation. I assume I need to ball mode and jump over some small pipes... turns out I just blow them up. I kill some shadow pirates and blow up some more small pipes to reach a white ceiling door at the end.

I enter a large room with 2 space pirates that I kill. Some sort of stasis pod with some sort of super space pirate. I scan stuff and get some more data and unlock platforms up. I head up and blow up some boxes. 2 more wave troopers show up and I kill them. I loop around to where they came form to access some consoles and scan them. I head up some new platforms and fight a Power trooper, which is only weak to my original weapon. I scan some stuff here and fire a mining beam cannon. There's a spinner thingy nearby.
I use it to realign the cannon and I shoot all the openings, saving the red scan one for last. I get a Missile Tank out of it... knew something was hidden in one of them =P

I then shoot the red scanned wall with it. A door is revealed. Through it is the top of a magnet track and looking down is a lot of electric currents. I roll through the electric currents and spinny things easily. At the bottom is a door to another room. Some large thing in the middle. A couple Power Troopers attack me upon entry.

The middle thing is a rotating pillar. I can rotate it in ball mode with bombs in a hole. I try to align yellow all the way, but can't. I then align it so I can use blue to get up one level. Another rotating thing here. Rotates the middle I guess. Yeah. I align it so I can use red to go up one higher. Then I jump down and align the bottom accordingly. I get attacked by a Wave Trooper once I get up there. A white door out. I look at the next rotation controls and they are blocked by rubble. Bendezium. Aka can't blow it up yet.

I enter the door for a short passage and then a room downward full of red bombus. I just kill them all and jump down. Game starts nagging me about going somewhere. Some room far down in the area I'm in. At least I'm in the right place I guess. A short passage at the bottom leads to an elevator down.
I blow up some crates at the bottom and enter a new passage. Two space pirates and a crate I blow up to reveal a Missile Expansion.

I enter a large room with a bunch of consoles and a stasis tank again. This time the special pirate inside busts out. He can absorb beam weapons, shoot a plasma cannon, use some sort of shock wave attack and melee too. I take a bunch of damage but take it down by just blasting it with missiles incessantly.

I then scan around the room and head up. Some new Ice Troopers. I scan and then take them down. I scan a whole bunch more stuff and lower a forcefield. A white door in the ceiling... what about the one below though. I jump down and use the white door.
A ball section into a blockage. Bendezium again so I go back.
Back up and into the ceiling hatch I go. A short passage into a vent that's halfpipe shaped. A scan on something red mentions Bendezium again. Ugh.

I enter and puffballs show up in a cutscene. They flood the place with gas and keep coming no matter how many I kill.
I head to the next door. I scan some stuff and kill some Wave and original weapon troopers. Another collapsed Bendezium wall... get more original already -.-
I see 2 elite pods down there so I kinda don't wanna go down lol. On my last energy tank...
I lower a forcefield and go down. I scan a bunch of stuff again and see a third elite tank.

I go through the floor white door. I really want a save point, game. This is such a long slog to redo if I die. I pass through a hallway with some more elite storage units and arrive in the room the game wants me to go to. I scan some terminals and look around. Locked in it seems. No choice but to jump down and hope I can live whatever fight comes on 1 energy tank.
I fight some sort of stealth drone that won't let me scan it to see what it's weak to.

I win but am on my last 59 energy and get an Energy low message... seriously game... why not save station? wtf? This is way too dang long without a save. A hatch opens after defeating it and I have no choice but to go in. I carefully roll my ball mode around and on some white circular things use bombs to make new passages. I arrive at the yellow ball in the center. Power Bomb acquired.

I immediately check the white door that doesn't have wreckage and there's a save station behind it. Took them long enough. Jeez.
I use the Morph Ball to blow up the debris blocking the other door and follow the platforms up... just a way back it seems.
I go out the previously blocked door. A hallway with 4 turrets that I destroy. Then I notice a ball mode path underneath the floor. Probably could've just disabled them. Oh well, into the next passage.

A large room with some terminals. I disengage the forcefield and fight some pirates and metroids. I then continue scanning everything before heading into an even bigger room. I fight some more Metroids here. I see no way across the radiation pit... I try walking and jumping through, but the ledge on the other side is too high. Is this really a dead end? =O
Game did already give me a message about wanting me to go somewhere else.

I go back to the room where I got the Power Bahmb and get greeted by Ice Troopers. I kill them and hit up the save station before backtracking more. One of the big bois has busted out. To be expected. Only 1 though? =O
I blow up the rubble on the floor above to unlock a map room. I scan a couple wall panels and grab the map reveal.

Wasted 1 power bomb to see if it would kill the elite though. How do I replenish these? I go back to the save station to see if it replenishes it. Nope. I backtrack again.

I take a bunch of damage in the ventilation shaft. Can't blow up the power bomb thing here as no ammo atm... ventilation thing must be behind it as I don't see it anywhere. I roll back out of it and aim down shooting some puffballs for health back. I check my ball mode and somehow I got 3 Power Bombs again... when the heck did that happen =O
Back down I go and I blow up the grate. I roll through a passage and activate the ventilation by scanning a panel on the other side. It sucks the puffballs into the other fan and blows it up. I head over to snag me an Energy Tank.

Game tells me I found 50% of all items... dang only 50%? 0.0
I exit the shaft and fight some stealth pirates in the next room. I then go for the ball passage that was blocked off.
I blow up the blockage and roll through. I fight some pirates in a large room and fall down and have to deal with radiation and turrets now as well. There's a red door at the bottom and the game tells me of a new upgrade in this area now...
I then platform my way back up to where I was.

I ride some magnet ball pillars up from there to new platforms and then hop around to the top. A turret stands in my way but I dispatch of it. I go through a White door. A small irradiated passage with grappling thingies. I just double jump over twice.
An elevator in the room beyond... Magmoor caverns. Let's see where this takes us I guess.

Magmoor Caverns.
Ah the other side of the blocked passage. I go through the white door and blow up the debris with a Power Bomb.
I ignore the flying nuisances in the next room and hit up the save station beyond the Phendrana Drifts elevator.
I check the world map... I either need to go to Tallon Overworld or back to the mines.
I head back to the elevator to the Phazon Mines.

Phazon Mines.
I start making my way topside again until I come to the rotating pillar thing. It's overrun with Metroids. I kill all I see and then blow up the rubble here. I rotate the top of the pillar to line up with the yellow off ramp up top. Then I jump down a level and align the middle. And then down again to align the bottom. I then magnet ball up the entire thing.

At the top I blow up a debris pile with the Power Bomb. Room with a powerup behind it. Grapple Beam acquired. Finally.
I go back out and grapple to the white door on the other side. I roll through a water based waste disposal thing and exit at the bottom.
I arrive back at the large room with the structure and the crane. I search for the power source again but can't find it... again.

I enter the path down below again and blow up a wall with a Power Bomb for a Missile Tank. I continue into the next room and up and power bomb a grate again. I use the terminal to lower the forcefield to the red door below.
I check the remaining corridors back to the rotating magnet track pillar and then speed through back to the crane area again.

I search around the crane again. This time with the Thermal Visor. I find an invisible circuit and shoot it to activate the controls at last. I scan the controls to move the crane. It slams into a wall and reveals a Missile Expansion. I roll up the magnetic track to go fetch it. I then jump down to hit up the save station before leaving to the elevator nearby.

Tallon Overworld.
I head through the passage back to the great tree hall and then go all the way back up to the top. I Power Bomb the blockage here and roll through a ball section. There's a speed ball thing where there's a passage up top. I keep going till I make it. I meant to use a regular bomb but end up using my last power bomb by accident. It blows a hole into the floor and I fall through for a Missile Tank.

I roll out the ball passage into the next chamber and get an X-Ray Visor powerup. No way back up. An enemy conveniently spawns in to drop a powerbomb ammo for me and I blow up a wall that I scanned. Half the room opens up. As I explore around the new out of bounds area not on the map some more ghosts show up. I scan one of them as I've been forgetting to. X-Ray vision let's me see them at all times. Nice.
I roll into a hole that's revealed and am back up where I jumped down to the powerup from.

This place is called Life Grove though... I check my artifact hints. Artifact of Chozo mentions this place. Reveal the pillar beneath the waves. In the water huh... I did see something there. I jump down again and try blowing a panel up in ball mode. a pillar rises with me still on it. Doesn't look like I can reach anywhere form here so I jump down.

Ah a ball hole underneath. I enter and use speed mode to turn something. Once it lines up with the waterfall some platforms rise out of the water. I jump out of the water and back onto the pillar and then walk to the revealed artifact. Chozo Artifact acquired.

I head back to the great tree hall and try to freeze a flower to use it as a stepping stone to reach the door I can't get to here. Doesn't work. I look around in X-Ray vision and see a hidden platform. I jump to it and across to the door. A fairly large room is behind it with just a Missile Expansion. Feels too big for just that tbh. X-Ray and scan vision reveal nothing though.

I get a message about unusual activity in Magmoor Caverns. Ah that lift room that was too high to reach.
The Magmoor caverns elevator is too dang far so I take the nearby one to Chozo Ruins South.

Chozo Ruins.
I hit up the save station here and take the elevator behind it.

Tallon Overworld.
I ignore the ship and run to the Chozo Ruins West elevator.
I head to the Tower of Light and ignore the ghosts trying to jump me on the way over. I jump into the water and head to the passage I previously could not reach. I can now jump out the water and shoot a purple ceiling door to access a room with an artifact. Artifact of Lifegiver.

That leaves... Artifact of Elder. A tower atop a fortress by invaders in Phendrana.... Collapse it.
I'll check that later. Also Artifact of World. Sounds like that Hall of Elder in this area... I checked it as best I could. Might require the red door weapon.
Also 3 I don't have hints for at all. I head back out of the area.

Tallon Overworld.
I head for the root cave area and use the grappling thingy to cross it. Then I head up to a seemingly dead end and use X-Ray visor to reveal invisible platforms and go up higher. At the very top is a red door. Dead end for now.
I head back to the ship for a save.

I check the map. Oh there was an elevator to Magmoor at the bottom of the root cave. I head back to Root cave and over to it.

Magmoor Caverns.
I first go back to the Monitoring station and then extend the bridge to get to the Warrior Shrine again. I Power Bomb the grate here.
I fall down into a cavern with a new powerup... no it's a Power Bomb Expansion. More Power Bomb ammo.... though just 1.
I take the ball hole out of the room and then turn around and go through the door to blow up the glass tunnel thing with a Power Bomb.
I jump down to a platform and see some kind of powerup or whatever... Ice Spreader acquired. Charge attack for the ice weapon. Costs 10 missiles 0.0

I test it once and it shoots like an ice wall. I hop back up and head to where the game actually wants me to go =P
I then run past it to go save at a save station and then run back to that room.

I grapple to the lowest lift thing and spin fast in a ball hole to extend it up. I jump up to the nearest one and do the same.
Then back to the one I came from by jumping up higher and then to the 3rd platform where I spin fast to extend it as well.

I look around and notice a magnet ball track upward from here. I then jump to the highest of the three and bomb a ball hole to have the ceiling be pushed upward and some platforms extend. I look around and see a whole bunch of magnet ball tracks and plated parasites scurrying about. I can see the white door beyond a rubble pile. Looks like I need to loop all the way around.

I make it all the way over first try... and then get punted off by the rubble pile lmao.
I struggle to get back to the start of the magnet rail, but once I do I follow it all the way again and this time land motionless on the pile so I Power Bomb to rid myself of it. I enter the white door.

A fairly large chamber with lava and something in the center. Plasma Beam acquired. This opens red doors as I need to open one to get back out.
I head back to the save station behind an elevator not far from here. I wonder if I can melt Ice walls with this thing.

I check the inventory menu... looks like there's 1 more Arm Cannon upgrade to get. Morph Ball seems to be complete.
Seem to be missing a Suit as well. Visors has a 5th blank space, but no question marks in it, so it's probably complete.
Secondary items, might be missing one. All the way at the bottom for the info for Beam Combo are question marks... might just be the upgrade for the new red door weapon tbh.

Now where... back to the mines for the red doors there? There was also an area I couldn't reach in Phendrana... required grapple I think. The elevator here leads to Phendrana. Might as well go check that first.

Phendrana Drifts.
I first head straight to the Quarantine Cave. I grapple across to a ball hole and roll in for a Missile Expansion. I scan the terminals for some background info. I roll back to the big cave.
I take the other exit and follow the path to the Ruined Courtyard. I open the door here and then turn back to the quarantine cave.
I look around to see if I missed something and then head back towards the elevator and then beyond it.

Ah an ice wall. Let's see.... oh the red weapon just destroys it instead of melting it. I find an Energy Tank inside.
I come across a large room... what do I wanna do... go across straight I guess to enter a loop and then re-enter from the lower entry here. I check the room first before doing so and then just check every room in the loop for missed stuff.

I can use the grappling hook on the glider apparently. It lets me reach a new ledge. Just some crates here though, nothing else.
There's a missile expansion in the ice... the red beam weapon won't melt anything here... I go up and swing back across with the glider.
I look for scannable stuff everywhere, this area is new, might be something... oh new ceiling rock I can make plummet. I shoot a rocket at it and it makes a hole in the ice. I jump down and in and grab the Missile Expansion.

I hit up the save point before continuing the loop. At Phenandrana's Edge I use the grappling thingies to continue a path up and once at the top use a glider grapple to get across to a ball hole. Beyond the ball passage is a room with a Power Bomb Expansion and some scannable screens. I leave after doing so....but was kinda expecting an artifact here tbh.

I check my artifacts info... one mentions Phendrana's Edge, where I am now. An unseen entrance at the top for the Artifact of Spirit.
The wall on the other side of the ball hole looks sus, but nope. I head down and X-Ray on every platform I stand on. Two platforms down I see a door behind a wall. I try super missiles and ball bombs before doing a Power Bomb which destroys the wall revealing a red door.
I open it and find a room with the Artifact of Spirit behind it. I scan some wall panels again and leave.

I check the rest of the large room while on the way down and continue my loop. I come across a grapple point marked with a red scan indicator... odd, aren't they usually yellow?
I explore the lower area of the room and then head to where I got the underwater suit upgrade.
I shoot an icy ceiling popsicle with the heat weapon and it reveals the grappling hook. I sling myself into the Missile Expansion.

I try the grappling hook leaving this place. It's just a shortcut it seems. I finish the loop and then continue into the facility where the lights went out. As I pass through it the game insists on telling me where to go. Phazon mines, red door at the irradiated area I already went to that but couldn't open it at the time. Figured as much.

When I reach the roof I fight the flying nuisances first before checking the towers above the entries for the one with the meltable ice.
I scan the thing in the distance. An unstable fuel cell. I shoot a couple rockets. Nothing. I shoot a Super Missile. Boom and the tower comes falling down and makes a hole in the rooftop. I head into the hole and ball mode into a passage with... apparently the Artifact of Elder. Knew it was in the ice area, but wasn't sure what tower. Apparently its' this xD
I then use the tower in ball mode to roll out of here again.

I continue my current loop and hit up the save station on the way out. I also point my scanner at the star system hologram and scan all the stuff. 2 of them get me research logs.
I arrive at the Ruined Courtyard again and use the save station. I continue on to Ice Ruins West... hmm this is the room with the thing in the ice right, on one of the roofs?
Yep. I shoot the ice with the hot beam and drop down for a Power Bomb Expansion.

I search the rest of the areas back to Phendrana Shorelines, including the side area where you get the halfpipe ball thing.
In Ice Ruins East I blast open an ice wall for a Missile Expansion, on the ground floor.

Once back in Phendrana Shorelines I shoot an ice wall for another Missile Expansion. I then hit up the save station and head for the temple. I search the place and when I get to the statue with the frozen hands I pull out the heat weapon to try and melt it. Yep, I can.
I jump onto the hand and go ball mode due to the statue back down in Chozo Ruins. It opens a passage below. That spot looked hella sus already, but was unable to make it open before.

I head in and there's an Artifact here apparently. Artifact of Sun... didn't even have a hint for that one yet lol.
I continue to the former boss fight arena but find nothing new. I hit up the save station again on the way back.
I press on to the elevator I originally used to get here first time round. Well that's a full sweep. Everything I found I could reach.

I look in the menus for a stats screen. Nothing aside from the totals... if I missed anything I'll probably need to follow a guide for it :sadwick:
I take the elevator to Magmoor.

Magmoor Caverns.
I sweep the entire level and find nothing new. Not surprised. Already searched this place pretty well. I then exit to Phazon Mines after hitting up the nearby save point.
Game keeps nagging me to go to the mines. The hints stay on screen nagging you to go somewhere till you open your map... kinda annoying.

Phazon Mines.
I arrive at the top of the large chamber near where I need to go... nice. I wanna go topside for the other red door too though.
I search the room again and come across a new enemy: Plasma trooper.
X-Ray vision reveals a Missile Expansion behind a wall on some platform. I Power Bomb it and grab it.

I go through the radiation stuff and through the red door. I come across a blockage and see an Energy Tank on the other side. Scan message seems to imply I'm on the wrong side and this is the exit lol
I head back up and take the ball tunnel and search the entire floor here without going up the elevator.

Right before the dynamo room an elite pirate shows up in a cramped corridor. I hit up the save station afterward.
The power goes out at Metro Quarantine which is where I was forced to turn back a while ago. I use Xray vision and see some invisible platforms. I hop across and then onto another invisible platform and I Power Bomb two walls. Behind is a magnet ball track and another invisible platform beyond. It goes up to a Missile Expansion.

I double back and take a magnet ball rail to a white door and pass it. Some burrowers and a red door. I scan a panel to activate an elevator to the next level down.
I end up in a tall room with some mushrooms for mood lighting and irradiation below. I drop down to a mushroom and see a Missile Expansion underneath another one on the radiation stuff. I just damage tank in ball mode over to it.

Back up and to the red door I'm supposed to go. Next passage has an upper and lower path. There's a bunch of Hunter Metroids. I hop along the mushrooms across the upper path and use a Glider to grapple to the exit. I checked the lower level first and there's nothing of interest. In the next passage I Power Bomb a boulder so I can enter a ball section.
I navigate the section and there's a split. I can roll onto the radiation... could try and barrel through but given current health I'd rather return later. As I leave I turn around and see a Chozo artifact.

I navigate another irradiated mushroom passage with Metroids. I use a Glider to get to a red door. Missile station. Would've preferred a save station =P
I accidentally fall down but end up finding a Missile Expansion through the X-Ray visor. I Power bomb the floor and grab it.
I keep failing the 3rd glider jump and eventually realize I just need to double jump after the 2nd glider jump. Bled a bit of hp with each fail.

Past the red door is a short passage with invisible bombus. Doesn't look like I can scan them.
A large room follows with some color coded enemies and a magnet rail that I ride. I then jump to a platform that lets me use a grappling thing to advance. I scan a device to lower a forcefield and fight some more enemies inside. I then blow up something I scanned and ball mode to collect the Missile Expansion that was within.

I hit up a little side room with a red door for a save station. Really needed that. Was on one tank and a bit lol
I scan a bunch of stuff and then go through a new red door. A small corridor with a single red space pirate. I scan a red indicator to be told to melt the frozen thing with heat. I do so and the path opens. I shoot open the red door behind and open a very large chamber. Huge stasis tank in the middle. Elite Quarters. More of those things I guess. I enter.

Omega Pirate. I scan it. I can only hurt it when it's invisible? Not quite... need to hit its weakpoints and it'll run off to heal. Some goons will swoop in, need to dispatch them so I can focus on him...
... well he pwned me lol

I load back in, kill the respawned enemies and then scan stuff in here and unlock the door to him, then I save again just so I don't have to keep doing that =P
I get him quite a bit lower on attempt 2 but die again. I manage to beat him on the 3rd try by focusing more on him and only killing 2of his minions at most.
Samus' suit becomes coated in Phazon. Phazon Suit acquired. Radiation immunity? Yep.

I head back to the pit where that Artifact was. Yeah never would've made that lol. Need to ball bomb like a dozen obstacles. Artifact of Newborn obtained.
My intent was to rush back and forth but those annoying Metroids wouldn't let me. I also scanned a new Fission Metroid that splits into two and 1 is weak to fire and the other the wave gun. Annoying buggers.

I head back to the save station and save. Then it's back to the boss arena. I fight 3 annoying Fission Metroids... seems what they split into is random. Saw the frost and normal blaster ones now too. I search around for hidden stuff and then scan a panel to activate a platform. I ride it up. I walk across some walkways and end up at the Energy Tank behind a blockade I was at earlier. I collect it and scan a panel to open the blockade.

I navigate my way topside through the ball hole. Once I reach the red door room near the top/start of the area I enter it for an upgrade. Flamethrower. Charged attack for the red weapon. I hit up the save station and leave the area via the elevator. Should perhaps have checked the upper floors with Xray... eh. Not now.

Tallon Overworld.
I head to the top of the tree room I'm in and go to the elevator for Chozo Ruins South.

Metroid Prime Remastered.

Chozo Ruins.
Time to sweep through this place fully. I check the path to the nearby save station and the elevator behind it. I then use the save station. Then I search the main room here, upper floor first, then lower floor. Checked the ice weapon room too. Nothing.
Back to the hall of Elders where I have to fight the ghost things first before I can check what the red weapon thingie does.
I search the room first for anything else... nothing.

The red covered ball thingy moves the statue, revealing a white door. I go down it and find a Chozo Artifact. Artifact of World. Knew it was here somewhere lol
One remains, but currently no hint on it. The game gives me the next intrusive hint, telling me to return the artifacts. Oh... I thought this was for some side thing tbh, seems it's for the main game =O

Looks like I can no longer use the color thingies... I check the short passage between here and the furnace in xray then I go back to check the missile refill room and leave through the other white door to check the passage in xray... nothing. Back again and up to the door you originally enter this room from. Ghosties here are staying gone it seems. Makes me wonder... had I not used both the other color thingies yet, would I be screwed from collecting them now had I used red first? @_@

A passage of nothingness followed by the large 'Crossway' room. I try to Power Bomb the rubble. Nothing. Couldn't scan it or see anything on xray, but nuked it just in case. I blow up the wall decoration again and nothing seems to happen again. Then I scan it again and a magnet track activates...
Did not think I could make it up that by just boosting back and forth, but it does get me up to it. I then boost into the ball slot and bomb to activate another magnet rail.
I speed back and forth to get up to it and then bomb a hole again. It lowers a platform. I already dropped down before I recognized the timer noises. I roll on to it just as it activates again and shoves me up. I roll around here and only find a Missile Tank. All that for a Missile Tank?

I check the passage on the way to the furnace and then the furnace. I Power Bomb a crack on the scanner to reveal a halfpipe. I first check the rest of the bottom floor in xray. Nothing. I speed my way back and forth up to the magnet track and start killing the parasites so I can just chill and take my time. I have to drop off the track a couple times and I mess up dropping onto the second metal beam. Fell down next to it.
I redo the sequence and get my ball stuck where you need to drop to switch between 2 magnet tracks. I have to drop down and redo it again. 3rd time I manage to land on the second beam you need to roll over and make my way to the end. A Missile Expansion.

I double check both ball passages and then the normal passage to the energy core... did I get something here yet? I don't remember.
I power Bomb a spot that looks kinda off in Xray, but nothing. I make my way to the former boss arena in the Burn dome.
Nothing so I head back.

I see a bomb tunnel blockage in Energy Core Access... I don't remember this... I blow both sides open, just a shortcut so you don't have to deal with the eye lasers. Meh.
I arrive back at the Gathering Hall not finding anything.

Scanner indicates a structural weakness above where I entered from... I was up here before and never noticed lol. Sandstone... Super Missile doesn't work, must be Morph Ball then. I jump up to it and ball mode bomb the gate open for a Missile Expansion.
I search the rest of the room but find nothing. The derelict waterpump catches my attention due to not recalling pumping water here, but I can't blow it up and Xray reveals nothing.

I use the save station to lock in my newly found items... just missile expansions, but still. And the chozo artifact I guess.
I head to where the charge beam upgrade once was. Xray reveals a missile behind a wall in the passage over to the Watery Hall. Broke it with a charged shot =O
I collect the Missile Expansion and check the watery hall next. I find an underwater part with a little cave in it. I jump out of the water up into it and grab another Missile Expansion.

I check the rest of the lower floor before going up. I eventually head into the ball hole near the blaster powerup. I search the lower room and find nothing new. Magnet ball track though, didn't have that yet when I was last here. I ride it up for a Missile Expansion.
Back to the save station to lock these in.

I check the passage to the Arboretum. The ghosties are still here... the ones at the furnace and hall of elder went away after grabbing the artifact. Is there one here? Or do these just always respawn so you can scan them at any time? I search the entire room and find nothing. I try jumping onto the tree roots at the top but get invisi-walled.
I check the passages to and from the Sunchamber next, and the Sunchamber of course. Once at the Magmoor Caverns elevator I check the passage to and from the Vault. Will have to roll through it again later for the loop here but so be it.

I opt against searching the Main Plaza just yet and continue to the door to the Nursery. I check this entire loop back to the elevator next. I use the Save station while here. I complete the loop without finding anything new.
I'll check the Ruined Shrine and Light Tower passage next so I don't have to fight the enemies in the Main Plaza twice to check it.
In the former boss fight area inhabited now by ghosts I find a blocked ball passage I haven't checked yet. I blow it up to collect a Missile Expansion.

Nothing else here. I re-collapsed the tower of light just to double check. I head back to the Main Plaza to give it a search.
I see the grapple thing again and the Missile Expansion I couldn't reach long ago. Can't access it from here though... I think.
I shoot a power missile onto the big tree at a point where the scan kept saying it's weakened. It blows a hole into it and reveals a Missile Expansion. I double jump over to it.
Was sus of that spot... also kept hearing the powerup noise near it.

Nothing else seemingly so I follow the passage to the Ruined Fountain. I notice the magnet ball track here. Fountain bursts periodically... go ball mode and have it yeet me up I guess? Yep. At the end of the magnet track is yet another Missile Expansion.
I quickly check the passage between here and the Arboretum and then go towards the passage before the lava area.

I enter the lava room which from the other side of the grappling things is an unexplored area completely. After a quick look around where you enter I swing across. I scan the wall and see Bendezium mentioned. I ball mode and Power Bomb. The wall blows up and behind it is a Power Bomb Expansion and a Chozo lore wall.

I then dive into the lave to xray around and then grapple back. Through the purple door I go. A seemingly empty corridor. I hear the powerup sound near the other end again though... xray reveals nothing though. Might just be something in the next room.
I enter past the purple door. Some ghosties attack me again. Their defeat unlocks two bomb ball holes.

I see an Energy Tank behind a grated wall... seems to be accessed via magnet track. Nothing else here seemingly. I do some halfpipe speeding and bomb the hole on the same side as the energy tank. A magnet track is revealed, and a platform lowers. Timed again most likely so I immediately yeet myself out switch out of Morph ball to jump out the halfpipe and go ball mode again right before the platform. Just barely made it in. I follow the magnet track to the Energy Tank. I collect it and quickly look around before leaving again.

I then fast ball myself in the halfpipe to get into the other bomb ball hole. It breaks open an ornament revealing a path out of the room. I return to the previous hallway and still hear the powerup sound. I go ball mode intending to place a Power Bomb near a bush and end up rolling into a ball hole... sneaky... very sneaky. I roll through it for a Missile Expansion.
I leave and turn around... the hole is somewhat visible from the right angle in Xray, but otherwise it's unnoticeable.

I go back and into the hole I opened. A tunnel with pistons going up and down. Some trying to squish me while others are pushing me up to otherwise unreachable heights. I keep an eye open but don't see any hidden path I could take for something. I end up rolling back out into the main plaza. I grapple across to the Missile Expansion.

I jump down and check the Ruins Entrance and the passageway to the elevator. Nothing. I'm at... 96%. Missing 4 items then? Let's check the area with the red door in Tallon Overworld next. I'll sweep the area on the way over too. I take the elevator.

Tallon Overworld.
I check the passage and the Tallon Canyon area, except for the area you fast ball up to. I check the little passage back to the ship area and then make my way up to the root tunnel. Nothing here. Root Cave is next... perhaps just jump down and check the passage to the elevator here first. I do so and then work my way back up. I notice nothing new till I'm almost at the red door and see a Missile Expansion past some bushes through Xray. I collect it.

I open the red door. Missile Expansion.
Okay... was kinda expecting the last Artifact here tbh. Still 96%... I collected 2 Missile Expansions though =O
I head back and use the halfpipe to get up to check the passages to the space boots area. Nothing. I then search teh starting area and get nothing again. I save at the ship to lock in the new stuff.

I check the path to the temple and the temple. Nothing. I scan the artifact thingies to find the one I'm missing.... Artifact of Warrior.
A room of Research within the mines. A corrupted invader is trapped. Defeat it to claim the artifact.
Why is this making me think Omega Space Pirate... or does that not count as a room of research... idk.
Well I know where to go for the main story now at least. Still need to search that entire freighter wreck area up here though.

I head back to the ship for a save and then check the path to the crash site. Nothing. Next the exterior. Nothing.

The interior then... gonna take a while. The room in front of the save station kinda sounds like it has a powerup, but I can't find anything so I move on.
Once in the Hydro access tunnel I hear the pickup sound again. This is a ball mode section though... how do I get up that high shaft @_@
I mean it's obviously bomb bouncing, but like... it's underwater. Timing this is gonna be hecking annoying.
Huh... took only 5 minutes of non stop practicing. Gotta lay the bomb about a second before you peak your jump. Then do it once more and you have enough height to get to the Energy Tank.

This definitely means there's an item in the room in front of the save room though... right? Do I go back from here or try and grab it from the other side after sweeping through... I just go back... I search but feel like the sound is similar yet slightly different.
Nothing I do accomplishes anything here so I leave again lol

I search the Great Tree Hall but ignore the passage to Phazon Mines for the time being. I check everything else up here and go to the Chozo Ruins elevator.

Chozo Ruins / Tallon Overworld.
I quickly run to the other Tallon Overworld elevator nearby and take it.
Back in the Talon Overworld I check this corridor for missed stuff. Didn't find anything... messed up though. Couldn't;t get back up. Need to go through the entire dang ship again now.
Once I get there I explore the corridor leading to the mines and exit.

Phazon Mines.
Okay so apparently I missed an Artifact here... a Room of research in the mines. There's the Elite Research room. Also Omega Research.
Don't see any other rooms with Research in the name. Unless it's just a random room with research going on in it like near the fungal caverns... I fully searched that bottom level though.

Well let's start by sweeping the upper level. First the elevator and it's corridor and then the Main Quarry area. Nothing.
I head inside and start the loop here. I reach Elite Research. The stasis tank here mentions the stuff that required Power Bombs... I vaguely recall seeing that. Completely forgot about it though lol. I Power Bomb it open and fight the elite. Once it dies it drops an Artifact.
I'm at 97% items atm. Artifact of Warrior obtained. 98% of items. So these count for the total too.

After completing the loop I head for and take the elevator down. I arrive at the room I'm pretty sure I already fully checked beyond: Elite Control. I just go back up and leave.

Tallon Overworld.
Well... guide following time. There is 1 spot in Magmoor I wanna double check myself, but let's just cross everything off.
I double check everything shown for this area. Got everything here it seems.

Chozo Ruins.
Gonna make a list of missing Scan Data first... Chozo Lore is complete, Research is complete, Artifacts is complete. I'm missing:
-Creatures: Parasite. Hive Mecha. Incinerator Drone. Ice Shriekbat. Now I'm 100% sure I scanned those dang bat things. Wth, why is it missing? Anyway... Phazon Elite.... that thing that was guarding the Artifact of Warrior. Wth? I thought it was just another elite @_@
Can't fix any of those. 3 scan datas for upcoming bosses and 1 for a Lumigek. Only 1 I can fix.
-Pirate Data: Fall of Zebas. Also missed. Definitely not getting 100% scan data lol

Lumigek is in the Impact Crater so I can't do it yet.
Guide following time, part 2. I double check everything shown for Chozo Ruins. Searched this place thoroughly, so I'm not expecting to come across anything here, just wanna cross it off...
Yep got everything here.

Magmoor Caverns.
Well here's a Missile Expansion I missed. 250 seems to be the max ammo for it and with this one I now have that.
It was in the triclops pit. Completely missed an xray platform hop to a pillar that can be super missiled for it.

A message pops up saying I've got 100% of items. What? I was at 98%.
At an earlier point I grabbed 2 Missile Expansion and gained not even a single percent from it. wth?
Whatever... I head back to the elevator to the overworld.

Tallon Overworld.
I save at the ship and head for the place you put the artifacts at. Metaldactyl shows up and wrecks the place. It glides in and launches missiles. It can land after slamming and tries to melee. It also charges up some shock attack and sometimes uses it's wings to shield itself. It's chest is it's only weakpoint. It also has a flyby laser attack.

Once I get it's HP low enough it lands and loses it's wings. It keeps it's chest covered a lot more and keeps zerg rushing. First phase was fairly easily, only lost like 2 tanks. By the time I finally kill it I'm down to 4. A cutscene plays and the statues get their revenge for it destroying the artifacts by lasering it to finish it off. A magic beam portal opens up.

I run back to the ship to refill my Energy, because why wouldn't I ? =P
That boss wasn't very hard, but it sure took a while to kill.
Ah right, the ship also refills rockets.

I run back to enter the beam of light.

Impact Crater.
I look around the odd looking room. There's a save station, might as well use it to save myself running back here. Only 1 way out: through the red door. An irradiated corridor. I see a swarm of new creatures and scan them. Lumigek.
I try killing them to secure a safe spot but they just keep spawning it seems. I head back to the save station for an energy refill.
I then ignore them and speed through.

Next is a big room with limited area to stand on and Fission Metroids. I accidentally use a Power Bomb on one. I initially try clearing them out but then see one spawn in in front of me... more infinite enemies and it just had to be these annoying things huh?
I just start ignoring them and work my way up. First red door turns out to be a Missile Station.

I go back out and continue up to the other one.
A short passage with either a damage boost through irradiation.... or some magnet ball track shenanigans. Already lost an Energy tank to those annoying Metroids so I use the latter. Next room has some giant thing in it. Boss time again most likely.

I want to scan it but it runs off. I chase after it and scan it in the next room. Metroid Prime. Only weak on it's head and only to certain weapons... it's glowing yellow... the standard weapon? Yes, seems so. More color coded stuff huh.
It shoots a beam in it's color and a barrage of purple stuff eventually. Can't quite seem to avoid those well atm. After taking some hits it switches colors and is now purple. I switch to the wave weapon. After taking some more damage it runs off again and Samus runs after it without any input on my end.

Probably gonna need to do the same but with the hot and cold weapons now. Hmmm no. It starts with purple and blows up my cover here. After taking some damage it charges me. It soon switches to white. Frost weapon time. After some more damage it goes yellow again. I then notice the grooves in the ground... oh ball mode to avoid the charges? Wish I saw that earlier.
After some more damage it runs off and Samus goes in pursuit again.

Purple again. It's got green tractor beam eyes now too. I see the slits in the soil here again for ball mode ram attack dodging. It also has orb attacks now, that I can shoot for ammo and energy. Not sure what they do if they connect, nothing good most likely.
It goes yellow next and then goes white and then red. It then dashes off again.... ugh.

In the next phase it uses fake outs. Switching to one color for a second or two and then switching again. It also mixes its attacks up a lot more and no longer charges just when you damage it enough. Some new green projectile barrage too. HP bar depleted. It keels over and falls into a new chamber. I follow it.

Second phase of the fight it seems. Some floating thing and it goes invisible mode and I get to visor juggle to find it. For some reason I struggle to avoid it's electric pulses way too much. It also summons annoying as heck Metroids. I can only hurt it by standing in Phazon and going Uber samus.
Got it down to about 30-40% when it kills me. Might've been able to make it by losing less HP in phase 1.

Oh great now I get to do it all again. Seriously game, put a checkpoint in between the boss phases if you do that crap. These fights are too dang long for this sort of rubbish. I run back to the boss chamber opening and then back to save just to lock in exploring the area =P
Then it's back again for attempt 2. Lost 39 energy on the way over. Gah those Metroids are annoying as all the heck.

Beat his first runaway phase with only losing 1 energy tank. The second phase lets me restore to full by blowing up the pillar like thingies in the room, which drop energy powerups.
Then I beat the second phase, only losing 2 energy tanks. Didn't wanna deal with the spawned in Metroids so I just Power Bombed them. It let me focus on the boss more too.

Afterwards it tries to suck Samus in but absorbs the phazon layer on the suit. Then things start going kuhboom and Samus escapes to her ship.
The credits roll. Afterward Samus flies away from the planet and warps or something. Percentage complete: 100%... does the scan stuff not count for this? =O
Total time 23:52. Hard difficulty unlocked... oh heck nah, not doing that lol. Another short cutscene... something that looks like samus' phazon suit coming out of a puddle, with like an eye on it.

That second phase of the final boss was annoying as heck with the visor switching to see it. The power bombs made it a lot more manageable by not having to worry about the Metroids it spawns. That Omega Pirate was also annoying as heck. So much backtracking too. And incessant hints that won't go away until clicked on if you're doing something else and will shows up again sooner or later.
Would also have appreciated some sort of totals list to see what collectibles you've found... but that last one is just the game's age showing I think.

Enjoyable game for the most part, just 2 sucky boss fights and some dated game design really.

9 Monkeys of Shaolin.

I pick Warrior difficulty as the 2 difficulties above have no save points. I'm going in blind so I probably want them =P
An intro cutscene... I'm a fisherman? First level is search for grandfather apparently.
I go right and fight some bandits while the game tells me the controls. I'm in some coastal village that's partially on fire.

At some point I get a horde of crates on my path and smash them all. I get a bunch of green Tea from them, a healing item. I just keep going right. Some blow dart enemies take a bunch of HP from me as I apparently suck at dodging or reflecting their attacks. I use some green teas to make it to a boss. It kicks my butt. I die and a custscene plays. Scripted defeat huh? Always lame. Wouldn't have wasted the healing items trying to beat it had I known I'd just get beaten regardless.

Some monks save me and take me in. A dialogue with them follows. I'm in some sort of... hub area? hideout? idk.
Seems I can only talk to the people with an exclamation mark. Talking to one opens some sort of inventory. The next one opens a co-op mode menu. When I talk to the old geezer I get a combat tutorial for Qi or whatever they said. Some sort of special energy I can charge my attacks with. Seems to only work if I press the buttons mentioned while moving, not while standing still. Hit enemies to refill your charges.

I eventually talk to the old man to end the training as apparently it doesn't auto complete. I talk to someone bent over a map back at the hub. I get some sort of mission. I have to sail a boat and go search for someone they haven't heard from in a while.
Nothing seems to update but the door out is open. Game feels a bit clunky.

Mount Putuo.
I start on some little jetty. I progress into a temple and a draining HP bar shows up on screen. I have to make my way over through hordes of enemies before the guy bleeds out it seems. The enemy leader just walks off and leaves and I fight his goons. Then I leave with the wounded dude.

I return at the hideout and there's some dialogue. I talk to the old geezer from the combat tutorial and he shows me a skill tree =O
ah the tokens from completing the mission can be exchanged here. Got 4. I'm mostly using the thrust attack so far so... I put 2 points into Thrust Mastery and then unlock Dash and Qi Regeneration in the same tree. Each attack style seems to have it's own tree.

The weapon smith has a new pole... Forest Rage, using Qi restores health... could be okay... haven't been short on green tea yet though.
The default pole stuns enemies on crits... seems more useful? I'll try out the new weapon on the next level though.
I talk to the map guy again... 2 missions. Sawmill or Eight Diagrams. I'll go with Sawmill. I select it and run out the door.

Sawmill.
I start off in a forest and beat up some more green pirates again. I die once in a lengthy fight between two moving saws near the end of the level. The healing from the weapon is negligible imo. Gonna switch back. Also didn't find nearly as many green tea.

Back at the hideout. 5 new tokens to spend. Some dialogue first. I dunk all 5 tokens into the base Thrust Mastery. It ups damage, crit chance and adds some armor piercing. Not bad. Might just wanna max this first.

A new mission shows up at map guy... they were talking about this one in the dialogue. Let's do the other one first. I switch poles before leaving.

Eight Diagrams.
Night time, at the edge of a village in the rain. I make my way in and fight more pirates. They seem to go down more easily than the ones in the previous level... was I supposed to do this one first? Oh well.
Lightning strikes occur periodically and sometimes enemies die to them. Green Tea is plentiful again... did I get less in the previous level because of the healing weapon? hmm...
I end up in a large brawl in some sort of... tavern? A peasant walks in afterward and the level ends. All pretty short levels so far.

In the hideout I put 3 more token into Thrust mastery and then spend the other 2 on Pierce 1 and Pierce 2 for more armor piercing.
Back to map guy. Only 1 level to choose from now.

Captured Village.
I start in a bamboo forest and am immediately greeted by enemies. I fight my way through and come across a massacre. All the townsfolk massacred.
I keep going and eventually come across the tall guy with the big sword again. Seems we're actually fighting this time.
Dude heals up by drinking from the heads he impaled... gross. He eventually runs out and I whittle him down by just dodging as best I can and pummeling him relentlessly. A bit challenging, but not too bad a fight. Gonna get 6 tokens for this it seems and something else of which I can't tell what it is yet.

Back at the hideout is another dialogue and they're mad at me because I didn't wait for them. A cutscene follows with the red version of the pirates. Chapter 2 =O
I talk to someone I couldn't talk to before... It's the same missions I already did... with new token rewards? 2 or 3 each, which is less than they originally gave... did the levels become more challenging or something?

I leave it be for now. I equip the new Sandals of Nimble zhe at the weapon smith. I can interact with a table and pull up a mask.. and put it down again... wth is this? @_@
I talk to the old fart. New combat tutorial =O

Southern Elements. Some new attacks by pressing ZR and then one of the attack buttons I've been using the entire time.
I finish the tutorial and then talk to him again to spend my tokens.. new skill trees. Acrobatic stance... which is when I hold ZR, I guess? Looks like it. I shove 5 more tokens into Thrust mastery and then the last one into Tip, for 30% more damage for striking with the weapon tip.

I talk to map guy again. Two missions. I select Mount Longhu and leave.

Mount Longhu.
Nighttime and I run into a monastery. The ground quakes as I progress. Fighting the red pirates now. One of them has like fire on their spear or whatever it is. Annoying enemy. I finish a large fight with some sort of flag bearer in it that can buff his allies. Before heading in further I walk over to some glowy thing. "You found a secret." Oh... didn't even realize there were collectibles lol

I fight some enemies amongst some flame spewing murals and then the ground collapses and I can't pass... I can't jump, can I?
I fall in over and over and eventually make it across the gaps with the dodge button... would've been nice to have been told what to do to cross them @_@

I get a new double damage tea on the other side after a fight. After a lengthy fight amongst some coffins I come across a fire wall with something behind it... no visible way in, unscathed anyway. I try to run through... instant death. Figures. I go right past some flames and press some sort of button to cancel the fire wall.

I run to it and some ghost shows up and summons zombies. Well that took a sudden turn lol
I can only hit her with Qi infused attacks. The zombies are for getting my charges back I guess. I beat it fairly easily and the level ends.

A dialogue upon return. I spend my tokens on Enhancement and Stun and then the rest into Thrust mastery.
A new interaction at the stairs... I can activate the secrets? What? are they like bonuses?
I look it up... more like cheat codes. Big head, small head, speed up. appearance changers. I leave the one I found off for now.
I equip the 108 Passions necklace at the weaponsmith. I then talk to map guy again and go to the other level that was already available, ignoring the new one.

Poyang Lake.
I start on some sort of dock in like a swamp village. I get introduced to enemies that kuhboom themselves =O
I find a secret again at like the 2nd house behind some crates. Enemies here are orange rather than red.
Seemed easier than last level. Just straight up brawling with some fire spots.

Back at the hub I spend my tokens on the last Thrust Mastery rank and then the Break Through skill. Thrust skill tree completely unlocked now. I put the remaining 4 tokens into Rockfall in the acrobatic stance skilltree.
New pole weapon. Fisherman's Pole. Attack speed increases as the combo counter grows, max of 25%. Could be nice, let's try it out.

I talk to the guy that let's you redo the previous levels and try Mount Putuo again.

Mount Putuo revisit.
Played through it and got 2 tokens for beating it again... didn't see a secret. I play through it once more. I see a prompt show up while inside the high grass. Found it. I finish the level and get 2 more tokens... the tokens are repeatable ? =O

I dump all 4 tokens into Rockfall mastery. Time to revisit the other Chapter 1 levels and check for the missed secrets. Seems to be 1 per level.

Sawmill / Eight Diagrams / Captured Village revisits.
I find the secret in the foreground in the final fight area of Sawmill.
In Eight Diagrams I find it sitting on the counter of the bar in the tavern at the end.
In Captured Village I find it behind the bamboo spam that you cut down to get to the massacred villagers bit.

Found the secrets in the first 2 levels of Chapter 2 so no need to frequent those unless I want more Tokens. I spend my 7 Tokens on maxing Rockfall Mastery at 15/15.
I talk to mr map man again and click on... Coastal Cave. A dialogue ensues. Looks like we're ganging up on the pirates that burned my village down. Marvelous.

Coastal Cave.
It starts with my compatriot being wounded by a trap and some dialogue. I navigate a watery cavern passage where I fight a couple enemies before jumping down a water slide. After that more kuhb00m kamikazes show up and at some point the blowdart guy gets replaced by a bahmb thrower. Normal enemies otherwise. I come across the secret near the first bahmb thrower, next to it. Gotta dodge jump to it.

I fight some enemies in front of a ship and some samurai looking enemy comes charging out. After defeating him I search the ship and set it ablaze. I continue further and find the person I scripted lost to. I fight of a couple waves and she comes down. I try defeating her bahmb throwers first but they just keep respawning. They got a bit of a blind spot though, can't hit me when near the boat in certain areas. I just dance around the boss here and whittle her down.

A cutscene follows. She commits seppuku. The monks show up for some more dialogue. I get a new spear for completing this =O
Upon return to the hideout there's more dialogue. A cutscene follows. I'm a monk now =O

Chapter 3... wait what about that other mission =O
I talk to the old fart and he wants to teach more techniques. Tutorial time again. I can make seals with Qi now... one that weakens my enemies defenses, one to launch enemies up and one to draw them in... not sure I'll be using them but we'll see. I'm still spamming the A attack for the most part lol

I end the tutorial and talk to him again to spend my tokens. New skill tree. Figured as much. Probably gonna invest into the Seal of Harmony. Potential bonus damage to enemies when the seal ends. For now though... I use all my tokens to grab all the skills from Rockfall.

I talk to the revisit levels guy... ah I can still do the level here for the original rewards. Nice.
I go to the weaponsmith to grab the new spear, though I gotta say I quite liked the one I just had. I leave.

Tulou on Fire.
I start in a building on fire. No surprise there. I beat a couple enemies and then kick down a door to save a male peasant. He gives a short dialogue. 9 people left to save.
I go up a level and do a loop to save more people while fighting more pirates. I then go down on the opposite end to save 2 in a otherwise closed off section. Then it's back up to finish the loop.

Next it's up to the top level where I head left to save 2 more. 1 left. I notice the pick up prompt and get the secret at the dead end here. Didn't even notice the thing itself tbh.
Back right and I beat down a door for the final one. The level just ends immediately.

I hit up the weaponsmith to check out the reward boots. Golden Puttees. Dodge = Power Dash and I can move through enemies and be invincible while doing so =O
Sounds hecking strong lol. I equip them. I then go for the old geezer and shove 6 tokens into Seal of Harmony Mastery.
I take the Hangzhou mission from mr map man. A dialogue follows before I can leave.

Hangzhou.
A short dialogue at the start. I gotta go find an official and then protect him. The enemies wear yellow clothes now... new pirate gang I guess. There's ninjas amongst them who p00f in and out. I follow the passages infested with enemies. This is like a palace or something.
I pick up a new powerup at some point. yellow tea. Accidentally clicked the prompt away that said what it does.
I look it up and it gives unlimited special moves for 5 seconds =O

I find the secret thingy in the background under a passageway, shortly before the official's house. I fight the enemies outside and the official comes out for a dialogue. The level ends after. Some new slippers as a reward =O

A dialogue follow up back at the hideout. Monk shoes. Kick and gust inflict extra damage. Dodging inflicts 25 damage. Eh.. I like my teleporting boots =P
I then talk to the old geezer and put my 6 tokens into Seal of Harmony Mastery.
I talk to mr map man and see 2 new levels. I pick Mountain Village as my next target.

Mountain Village.
I start on a mountainside. A grassy area ahead. I navigate it while fighting enemies. The ninjas area is a bit annoying here as the grass slows down my movement.
I find the secret in front of a little house or shack at the very edge of the village.

I then navigate the village fighting waves of enemies. At a certain point there's a drop-down into more grass before a small house next to a bridge. I fight a long wave of enemies at the bridge and the level ends after beating them.

I talk to the old fart and max out Seal of Harmony mastery and then dump the rest into Seal of Levity, which is the main one I've been using. Should probably focus on it instead.
I talk to mr map man again and pick the Swamp Camp option and leave for it.

Swamp Camp.
I start at the edge of the swamp. There's water passages and dry ground. The water damages me... toxic? =O
After fighting a couple waves of enemies I come across the secret on a tree stump surrounded by water in the foreground.
I navigate a bunch of walkways until I arrive at some sort of camp partially built up to the trees. I get multiple waves of enemies and then the level ends again after a short comment on the boxes containing food and telling the farmers.

At the hideout I have the old man put my 7 new tokens into Seal of Levity Mastery. 11/15 now.
Nothing new here so I just pick my next level. Silver Mine, it has an item reward.

Silver Mine.
I start near a shack and whack the barrels for green tea. The level's secret also ends up being behind the ones furthest back.
I fight a new enemy in front of a waterwheel. It can throws magic circles similar to the ones I can. I get told to repair and turn on the pump but can't interact with the waterwheel at all.
I head right and fight enemies in the mine. Path onward is blocked.

Need to go either up or down... up it is. I fight some enemies and flip a lever... Or did I just yoink it?
I go down again and the other way and pick up a cogwheel after fighting some enemies. I head back out. I fix the waterwheel they call a pump and go back in. I go in deeper and come across corpses... their eyes are glowing though... zombies/ghosts again?
Yep. I fight 2 zombie summoning ghosts and the level ends.

I max out Seal of Levity Mastery at the old geezer and put my remaining 2 tokens into Speed 1 and Speed 2 for it. I check the weaponsmith for the item reward... 36 Shaolin beads. Parried and received damage regenerate Qi... so take damage to be able to spam more special attacks... do I really need that... eh I'll try it out.
Back to Mr map man... 1 mission left here.

Mount Jiuhua.
I start on some sort of walkway on the side of a mountain. I find the secret by turning back and going left.
I then go right and fight multiple waves of enemies across the temple grounds. No new enemies. Someone uses a rockfall spell at some point, but I wonder if I accidentally used it instead =P

No it's definitely an enemy.. I see one cast it in the next area.
Why is green tea so scarce here. Anyway I progress either inside or through a building to the other side at some point and continue kicking butt. A large fight in front of some doors at the end. An apprentice comes out for some dialogue and the level ends.

A dialogue upon return as well. I then check out the weaponsmith for the new staff weapon. Casting seals does a little bit of damage and seal creation speed increased by 25%. I'll try it but I kinda like this Singed Dragon staff.
I then use my tokens at the old geezer to get all but the last skill for the Seal of Harmony.
I talk to mr map man to go to the next level.

Huangshan.
I start on some wall or rooftop and immediately get jumped by enemies. I take a rope bridge away from the screen and find the secret here.
Either this staff is weaker damage wise or the enemies are tankier here. They take longer to defeat it feels like. Anyway, I just keep following the path beating up pirates. I yeet multiple enemies off the cliffs :fufu:

Eventually I come to what feels like a repeat of the previous mission's final area. A building with big doors and crates outside. Waves of enemies again most likely, followed by dialogue and the mission end?

Partially right. Large fight with multiple enemy waves. Didn't end though. I continue right and have a chat with some shady looking individual.
Boss fight. He summons magic circles all over the place in red and blue. They all kuhboom shortly after. He hits fairly hard and summons clones that go down in 1 hit. Not a very hard fight tbh. Some dialogue follows after beating him and the mission ends.

A cutscene and Chapter 4 starts. I start off not at the hideout but on a boat talking to the weaponsmith =O
The old geezer is on the boat with us and I use my tokens to get al remaining skills for Seal of Levity and Seal of Harmony. 1 Token left over... let's just start maxing the basic attacks I guess? I put it into Kick Attack Mastery.
I then equip the new staff at the weaponsmith. I see mr map man on the right... oh is this boat our hideout now?
Two missions... I'll pick...

Black Dog.
Sounded like an optional mission from the description. I start off on a small dock next to the ship. I smash the crates and get a new white tea. Reduces damage by 30% for 5 seconds. While I smash the crates a door drops down and 2 guards come out to be beaten up.

I then fight a large group of pirates in some sort of warehouse while I dodge incoming projectiles from off-screen. I beat up the crates and barrels afterward and find the secret of the level. I fight through a couple more waves while dodging projectiles and come across a douche shooting a cannon... wait were those projectiles supposed to be cannonfire? =O

I end up on the back of a ship... or is this supposed to be a building... idk. I smash crates and barrels and proceed left through the corridor while beating up more enemies. This level seems to have all the tea in the world and I'm yoinking it all.
At the front I see someone in armor. By their lonesome, gotta be a boss... or not. No boss bar. More enemies show up and upon beating them all the level ends.

At the hideout I put all new tokens into Kick Mastery. I then talk to mr map man.

Naha Streets.
I start off in a town and beat up multiple waves of enemies to enter a building. A 'save the informant' bar is on screen since the start.
I'm in some sort of restaurant now and fight more enemies with some new miniboss dual wielder in armor. I find the secret underneath the stairs into the next area. I clear another fight there and my character has a monologue and a path out opens.

Outside I smash crates and then get interrupted by enemies. I just smash them along with the crates; you don't interrupt my therapeutic crate smashing!
I beat up several waves of enemies before coming to a dead end with several consecutive waves of enemies. Afterward a short dialogue. Informant died it seems.

Back at the hideout ship for some dialogue. I talk to the weaponsmith for the new item. Black Rhine Vambraces. Defense +20% and damage reduced by 20% when trying to parry powerful attacks. Sounds good. I equip them and talk to the old geezer to dump my new tokens into Kick Attack Mastery again.
I search around a bit and can use some barrels to swap masks... I still dunno wth these do.
An empty table with scrolls is my previous areas guy here... err, okay.
2 available missions at mr map man... let's see...

Port.
I start next to a building and beat up some enemies and then arrive in a loading area of sorts. Barrels start rolling out of the open doors while I fight a group of enemies. Next area has them falling from the sky... then followed by another one where they roll from open doors. Both areas have enemies of course.

I fight a normal enemy wave in front of a building and then on a boat and then near two towers or scaffolding or whatever I fight a larger wave again, with barrels coming from the sky. They really like barrels here it seems. Afterward I smash stuff for the secret in the background behind the stairs and to the side of the right scaffolding/tower.
I then walk onto a dock with more smashables and a boat and get attacked again. I smash everything and everyone and the level ends. Super Smash Monks.

Back at the hideout I max Kick Attack Mastery and then put the remainder into Slashing Strike Mastery.
I check the weaponsmith. Black Rhine Vambraces... again, but now it's boots. Defense +20% and dodge, kick and Burst reflect projectiles... eh. I like my teleporter boots more tbh.
Back to mr map man for the next level.

Prison.
I start off in a room with guards and prisoners... either dead or unconscious. I move to barrels to smash stuff and notice the secret in front of them. Another instant secret =O
I go right and it's a dead end. An arrow tells me to go back and I beat up some enemies for another door to open. Some purple dude with fancy attacks. I beat him and grab something he dropped and leave the room again. Key, I guess?

I go back to the other door and open it. Cell block. I fight a couple rooms with rioting prisoners and then a samurai and outside in some courtyard I beat up more prisoners to open a door.
Some kind of torture room with 2 more purple armor fancy pants dudes. I beat them for another key.
I go back and open another door to enter a rat infested cell corridor. Two large fights against prisoners and samurai later there's suddenly dialogue with the prisoner I came here for. The mission ends after.

Back at the hideout I shove my new tokens into Slashing Strike Mastery again. I check the new pole... crits inflict bleeding. *shrugs*
I go to the next level at map guy.

Fudo's Mansion.
A short dialogue before leaving. I start inside the mansion walls. Looks colorful with the bushes here =O
I immediately get greeted by samurai and thugs. I keep going right, fighting off wave after wave of them and find the secret in the background next to a building near the lake. Eventually I can't go right anymore and am forced to go inside.

I fight two people in cramped quarters. A tanky beefcake and a squishy shooter. Damaging either seems to make the boss bar go down.
I win pretty easy. The upward throw seal makes this fight very easy.
Some dialogue follows and the level ends.

A cutscene follows and Chapter 5 starts. Our camp got raided and all but our leader were killed. Guangli was blinded.
Dialogue follows afterward.

I max my Slashing Strike Mastery afterward at the old geezer. 1 token left... I grab Qi Regeneration for this skill tree.
New Jade Cliff staff at weaponsmith. Enemy kills recover Qi and ghosts are always corporeal... don't need to charge attack them.
I'll try it I guess.

Two new missions... Both have a reward aside from tokens. Let's see....

Wenzhou.
I start in the town and smash some crates and enemies. The secret is tucked off the side of a building in an alley.
While crossing a bridge a new enemy with a seal around it shows up. Dunno what it does, but I just keep attacking it till it's dead =3
Must be one of the Japanese monks they mentioned I guess. I keep fighting the enemies till they withdraw.

Back at the hideout I put all my tokens into the Kick Attack skills. Got all of these now. I head to the Weaponsmith and grab one of the pointy poles again. They seem to deal more damage. I check the new item... 18 Arhats. Max Qi increased by 1... eh.. I'm not relying on it that heavily and regenerating it is easy. Feels unnecessary to even use it most of the time.
I talk to map guy and head to the shipwreck level.

Shipwreck.
I start in a forest and follow the path, fighting samurai along the way.
hmm.. no, damage seems to be similar. Could grab the other weapon I was using last level then. I keep following the path and fight enemies till I get to the shipwreck where the enemies become zombies and ghosts... of course. I unequipped the weapon that makes ghosts easier... and I get ghosts as my enemies... lmao.
I find the secret in the foreground in this area.

I then fight another 2 ghosts with their pet zombies fight... kinda annoying fights tbh, lots of dancing around to stay alive. Level ends after a short monologue afterward.
Some dialogue upon return to the hideout.

I put my new tokens into all remaining Slashing Strike skills. Left with 1. Well Base Stance all 3 skill trees are completely filled in now... Seal of Attraction Mastery in the Magic Stance skill tree section then.
I check the weaponsmith. Icy Ruin; slows down enemy by 5% per strike with a max of 35%. Sounds decent.
I go to map guy for the next level.

Abandoned Fortress.
I start next to the weaponsmith rolling a cannon next to me after some dialogue. I got to escort him. No health bar for him though... might be able to just ignore defending him =P
While we're rolling along I notice the secret in the background shortly before it goes offscreen and dash over to grab it. All the enemies nearly made me miss it.

Once we arrive at a gate the cannon blows it open I have to first defeat the remaining enemies before going in.
I enter and then fight off several waves of enemies before going inside a building. Looks like some sort of kitchen. I start smashing barrels and crates and the enemies that show up.

Once they're all down the gang shows up and after some dialogue the level ends.
Back at the hideout there's some dialogue. This sounds like a final level.

I put all my tokens into Seal of Attraction Mastery. 11/15
11 more points and I can max this tree too... is it worth grinding?
I check out the new staff at the weaponsmith... increases the strike distance of all staffs by a third... do I even need to equip it for that to count then? Says all staffs.

I equip Singed Dragon as I was getting the highest damage numbers with it.
I talk to previous levels guy... the level I just did is 5 tokens per clear. Not bad, wasn't super lengthy either I feel like.

Abandoned Fortress rerun.
I run through the level 3 times and then talk to the old geezer to max the Seal of Attraction Mastery and then all it's skills.
All 3 Magic Stance skill trees maxed out then.... which leaves 2 of the Acrobatic Stance skilltrees, which would require... another 44 tokens for skill points. Egads. I got 4 left unspent, so 40 more. That's another 8 runs through this level... is there any point to maxing the skill trees though? Often feels like aside from the Mastery Skills most of them are kinda irrelevant. I never really use the acrobatic stance stuff either lol
I put my 4 tokens into Storm Mastery and leave.

Xuanpei.
Final level, I guess? Text says I should be sure to start this battle.
A monologue at the start as I stand in a snowy mountainous area with some trees. Lightning strikes are numerous and mr Fudo starts monologuing as I fight through... zombie? enemies, I think.

I run back as I got too distracted to search for the secret. Good thing I did. The secret is on the well near the start.
As he keeps monologuing the ghosts and Japanese monks also show up. Pretty annoying fights tbh, when they pair up.
Not a lot of green tea again. I keep going till I have to enter a path upward on stairs.

My health and powerups gets reset after a loading screen... not that I had much tea to begin with. There's some spooky vortex in the background and I have a dialogue with Fudo.
I hit something invisible trying to target him and then notice I can't hit him.
I go to where I hit something invisible... oh it's the assembled He Shi Bi. I keep hitting it till it kuhpoofs and the vortex goes away.
I can now hit Fudo too. I focus mainly on him and use the upward throw seal when he summons zombies to finish them off while he's in the air. He's quite spongy but goes down eventually.

A cutscene follows and then the credits. That was a short but fun game imo. Kinda clunky, but not bad at all.

It loads me into the hideout afterward. Nothing new though. Only thing left to do is grind for more Skill tokens. Already beat the game, so what's the point? No completion percentage or anything... and I got all the secrets it seems.
Looks like the Steam version has achievements for getting all skills. I'm on the switch though. I see no need to do it.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.
One of a couple 3DS games that I have which are still sealed in plastic. Seemed like a nice game to end this on.
I make a new save file and watch the opening cutscene. I start off at like a tower shaped house.
I press all the buttons and can only crouch, jump and whip my hair... probably as an attack?

I head right to the town that's under attack. After some dialogue I fight some blue pirate robots as villagers flee in terror.
Some of them drop items and some sort of... currency, I guess? Kinda looks like the rupees from Zelda. Some red pirate robots show up too, they take 2 hits to kill.

I head right into the next area and talk the mayor. There's some bomb throwing pirate robots now as well as a grey one that shoots a gun. I make it through and the next area has some stairs up. I see a vase behind a grate. Previous ones had a heart in it. I crouch into it and get some money. I fight my way up the stairs.
Next area has a minigunner that only targets certain spots. Seems to be in the background so I can't kill it. The platforms here get nuked by missiles form below when I step on them and they disappear... gotta go fast.

I come across a seemingly dead end. A platform bridge of some sort with some red robot thing crawling underneath it. Boss?
Lol no. They try to stab me when I'm above them and after like 5 seconds the platforms kuhboom and kill them. This repeats for several dropdowns with each adding more of this enemy.

A bit of dialogue again in the next area. I exit the area after dealing with the robot enemies here. I come across some creepy geezer in a green outfit. I try attacking him and then press random buttons. I can talk to him for a save apparently =O

I head right into the next area and after a short dialogue there's a boss fight against the Ammo Baron.
Dude's in a tank and shoots cannon balls. I gotta hair whip the red ones back to him. I can just stand in front of the crates on the left and his charge attack and normal cannon balls can't reach me :fufu:
When I fling a red cannonball back at his tank he pops out and I can hair whip him. I repeat this several times and mess up my timing on the red ball multiple times as well. Eventually the tank goes kuhblooie.

Some dialogue follows and I get a Court Summons from some royal guards xD
I'm back at home now and Risky Boots shows up after trapping me in my bathtub 0.0
During the dialogue some bat minion gets transformed and I'm released from my bathtub trap to fight it.

I get a Magic Lamp afterward and can suck up the dark cloud that transformed the bat. Dark Magic obtained =O
Wait this is a collectible. Gotta get 20 of it. 0.0

Scuttle Town.
I start off in town again. I talk to people and then talk to Risky Boots again. I check the right side of town after. I enter the first door and go past some woman to try and interact with some red blob but I just pick it up automatically. Heart Squid. Ah, this is like Heart containers... I can forge them into heart holders. There's 32 total.
I talk to the woman. Squidsmith lol. Guess I found the place to make heart holders. I need 4 for one. Definitely just heart containers from Zelda lol

I enter a shop and buy 3 potions and lose some money to a minigame that doesn't look very interesting.
The next door entry I check has the creepy save guy. Might as well save.
I go as far right as I can and get told I need a Library Card. I go back and run up and into the next house. A woman gives me the library card lol

I check the final house. Bathouse. Seems to just heal you. I head left out of town and fight one of those transformed bat things and get a 2nd Dark Magic. I continue left past my house for a Heart Squid. I can go further left and talk to the mayor but he just says he wants to be alone and ends the convo.

I head back to town and save at the creepy old geezer again before going right to the guy who wanted to see my library card. He commentss on how I don't look anything like the card's picture and lets me past anyway lol

Next area has some shadowy mage looking enemy. Most just walk around, but some throw pumpkin bombs. Halloween area huh.
I come across another Heart Squid. The next section has shadow magic spewing enemies added. Also another Heart Squid at the end... can't seem to reach it though... might need a powerup of some sort. Maybe a double jump or whatever?
I continue and save at mr old guy again.

Tangle Forest.
New robot warrior looking enemy... uses bat wings to fly when I hit it. Also some new spider thingies that shoot an energy ball at you.
I lose a bunch of health here trying to jump to a ledge in the top left. So close, yet impossible it seems.
Further right I see a Heart Squid high up in a tree. Definitely not reaching that atm.
I continue right and the area changes again.

Sequin Land Palace.
I talk to one of Shantae's friends here and he wants 3 Flesh pops to feed the undead kids next to him... er... okay...
I talk to some rude guy who wants his brochure back from the sewers he dropped them in. Need to go there for the Flesh Pops too.
I continue right past the palace and talk to a giant squid thing. Squid Baron talks about having Post Boss Syndrome rofl
He wants to know a good vacation spot... probably gonna need that brochure. He moves right a bit and blocks further progress right, but I can now go into a hole or try the palace door.

I check the palace door and they lost the key and can't open even if they wanted to lol
Into the hole in the ground I go.

Palace Sewers.
I make my way right fighting some new snake enemies. I then go down and left fighting more of them. I see a vase in a wall and can just walk to it from the left. I got 2 Flesh pops from the snakes so far. I get a third before leaving this corridor.
Next corridor has a Heart squid in a wall and a new rat enemy. I can just walk into the wall below where it is and jump up to the Heart Squid. The path splits at the top, but the right exit just lead back to the entry.

I go back and then left. Some stone block is blocking my progress left. A chest behind it. Up in the right is some black thing... probably opens the path. Corridor to it is too small though. Could maybe crouch to it if the entry wasn't in the air. Maybe handing over the Flesh Pops will accomplish something.

Sequin Land Palace.
I head outside and back to the guy to hand them over. He gives me the Royal gate key. I interact with the gate and slide it through so they can open it. I head inside. I talk to some guards while traversing the corridor. Only the last one tells me something useful, where the library is. Next room ends up being just a straight corridor again. Okay, not so helpful then lol

I enter the next room and have a chat with some old geezer with a cane and glasses. He takes my court summons and hides it =O
He told me to take whatever I need so I search the room. I interact with a Globe and get a Forbidden Isles Map.
Seems to be it here so I head all the way back to town.

I talk to the woman who gave me the library card and return it. She gives me 100 monies... silly name for your currency lol
I head to the squidsmith and she just piles the 4 I have up and smashes them flat and I get a 3rd heart holder xD

I check the merchant again and scroll through his entire inventory... I seem to be able to learn some moves/skills here?
I can also buy Shampoo and Silky Cream to upgrade my hair attack damage and attack speed... temporarily or not? It says upgrade... sounds permanent. I click Learn Backdash and then buy a Shampoo and Silky Cream. I can buy new ones after that but they're 150 a piece now... probably a permanent upgrade that has tiers then....
I check my inventory... can't use the cream or shampoo... my attack speed is up already though. Guess it just stacks when you buy multiple *shrugs*

I head to the old geezer to save. I then go talk to Risky Boots. We're on a boat and can see islands... I turn the wheel to go to other islands and it shows how many heart squids and dark magic thingies there are per island. Black if not collected and red if they are. Missing 2 Heart squids and I know where they are for the island I was just on... where's the 3 dark magic bat things though =O
I can only go to Saliva Island atm it seems.

Saliva Island.
A dock next to some sort of tower with blue flames. Is this some sort of lighthouse?
I head right as I can't do anything here but leave again. I come across armored crabs and a 1 eyed frog that shoots out it's half digested food at me. There's also blue things jumping out of the water that can't be killed... shrimp or something? idk.

The next area adds some sort of mermaid that shoots a bubble attack. There's a Heart squid in between 2 blocks I can't remove yet.
Some new purple bat thing that follows me trying to attack me near the exit top right. I ignore the exit and go down again and see another black thing in a narrow corridor... do I get a bow or something to shoot those? I head out the bottom right exit.

A small room with a person. The statue beside him is his wife who got turned to stone by a monster =O
He give me a ring and tells me to take it to the mysterious rock between the four lilly statues. I head back to the previous room and take the upper right exit. Well there's 4 statues right here. I can interact with a rock between them.
The statues' gems starts glowing and hitting them makes a large statue rise. They're on a timer though and retract again. The second one retracts the quickest, then the 1st and then the 3rd and then the 4th.

After a couple tries I time it correctly and make my way up to a passage to the right. More frogs and some sort of water dragon that pokes it's head out of waterfalls and can't be killed. I fall down here and it takes me down quite a bit. I see a ledge on the left on my way down.
I talk to a couple girls... one asks for the manager... must be a Karen. Nothing here it seems.
I head left and come across mr save man. I save and go left and am back in the statue room.

I go back up and to the right and drop down again, I saw a passage to the left in the in-between room. I head in the passage and there's a bat thing for some Dark Magic. I drop down and save again just to lock it in.
Then it's back up again and I navigate the passage there properly now... which takes some effort. The frogs are annoying as heck, messing with my jump timing, and take a lot of hp from me.

Next passage has some new red snakes that drop from the ceiling and more mermaids. An exit left or up. I go up and there's an exit right.
Some giant sleeping thing. A sign that says it will get aroused by ham... probably a boss fight so I go back for the other exit.
A dead end with some really big vase thing? I go back to the big sleeping boss. I jump past it... didn't wake up. I was near a ham though...
I fight a bat thing for Dark Magic. Dead end again. I head back to the sleeping boss. Seems I can't wake it yet... I just jump down which goes all the way down to the two girls.

I smack the ham a bit and it releases a cloud which I can suck up with my magic lamp. Now I gotta go all the way back up.
I release the Ham stink to the giant creature... it just starts drooling =O
Guess I'm going back down... dead end otherwise. The girls wanna hit the pool with me upon landing down there.
The light bounces off their skin and some beams cross and something activates and I get a Petrify spell.

I head back to the guy who was crying over his wife that was turned to stone. I hand the spell over to him apparently. It turns him to stone and the ground he was standing on collapses. Whoopsies indeed, Shantae.
I jump in after.

Spittle Maze.
An empty corridor, followed by one with red respawning snakes and some sort of devil/demon looking thing that explodes upon taking a hit.
In the room after is a save geezer. I save and go right. A locked door to the right exit and a drop down. Some red snakes spawn in from the roof. I drop down a couple platforms and find a Heart Squid in a wall I can walk into. I head further down.
At the bottom is a grated passage left I can just walk through. I open the chest in the next room for a map of the area.

I go back to the previous room and take the bottom right exit. A room with a heart squid on a short platform under a bigger one. Below it is death/damage fog. I fall in once and get the squid on the next attempt. There's some purple bat things in this room.
I see a grey statue and whack it and it closes. Ah this is the thing I've been seeing. It moves a cage over. I jump in and hit the thing again... it moves me past a pillar that was solid and caused me to fall before =O

I exit the room right and get trapped in with a big shellfish thing.
I fight it for a bit and when it dies a chest spawns in and the room opens again. I get a key from it and head back.
I pass the key door for now and hit up the save geezer first. Then I go open the door.
A room with some armored crabs and a cage and switch... out of range when standing in the cage though.
I go down and see some grating so I crawl in and fight an armored crab for a Heart Squid.

I exit the room and the next one has some one way cage switch combos I can't come back from. And also some purple bats. The room after has more armored crabs and some sort of fire shooting head of something statue. Grates behind it. Can't enter bottom one so I jump to a ledge and crawl through the upper one. I then check the lower one... just the way back it seems. I enter the next room and at the bottom I get Risky's pistol. Ah a ranged weapon at last. Which I immediately need to be able to use the cage switches here to get back out.

I run all the way back to the save geezer again skipping the way onward initially. I then go back to use the cage/switch combo that was out of reach previously to access a new corridor. It's filled with fireball shooting statue heads. I follow the passage through and get to a large room with armored crabs and some cages I need to shoot switches for.

The next room has 2 large lobster thing minibosses and my fight is sloppy as all heck, but I manage to line them up to make it easier and make it through on 1 heart.
After it is a vertical room with armored crabs and some platforms. Beyond it is a save geezer and I use him. One room left, must be a boss, no? Got a save geezer right before it.

Some sort of gate thing opens and I enter it. Nothing else here.
Cyclops plant boss. It spawns in slimes and shoots an eye laserbeam. Off the side are smaller eyes and hitting them raises a platform so I can shoot the thing. It then mixes up what side the side eyeballs raise the platform on.
The plant goes kuhboom fairly easily but the eye is still there... floating eye fight. No... it just bounces around. The corners are safe though so I just wait for it to land and then whip it while it charges it's eye laser. I repeat this a bunch of times and it dies.

A tinkerbat shows up afterward and drops a map for the next island. I head left one room and shoot the switch to access the Heart squid here. I then hit up the save guy here and go back up to see if there was anything else I can do now. No doesn't seem like it.
I run all the way back to Risky Boots and give her the map.

Scuttle Town.
I sail back to Scuttle town and get another heart holder from squidsmith. I buy a Shampoo and Pistol Tuneup at the shop. I save at save geezer and head right for... oh a guard drags me off to talk about something. The librarian and the other old geezer seem to have made the punishment of shantae's winsome hear getting cut go away lol

Well it saves me walking all the way over. I exit and talk to some new guy about his blade being sealed in a desert before I head for the sewers. I rush through to the room with the chest and shoot the switch. Travel brochure.
I hop back out and talk to the rude geezer. He just says no backsies. I give it to the squid boss. He gives me Squid Oil which goes into key items and he then runs off. Seems I can't go right still. Might just be a dead end.

I run all the way back to town fighting everything along the way for rupees monies. I buy the potion x 3 at the shop and hit up the bath for a heal and then save at mr geezer.
I head to Risky Boots and sail to the next island.

Spiderweb Island.
Similar dock again. After a chat a lengthy passage full of zombies follows. Hitting them removes their head and the body keeps going till you hit it enough as well. Then their head flings into the air and explodes and a new one spawns in. They seem to drop a lot of rupees though. After is a tall passage with a couple zombies at the bottom and some sack ghosts holding a candle on the way up.

At the top is a passage with zombies and some sort of beetle clinging to a tree that climbs up and slams down. I see a chest in the ground but can't reach it. Another passage up follows with the same enemies. I see a Heart Squid near the top, out of reach. I continue right and come across save geezer. I passed up a passage right all the way back at the first corridor up though... hmmm... let's just keep going for now.

I come across a big spider about to feast on... some green woman. A zombie?
Rottytops? Zombie woman, yeah. Anyway Shantae scares of the giant spider by yelling and Rotty wants me to take her to her house.
I now seem to be carrying her in my arms and go right for a section where I can't attack at all and need to just run and carry her. Some sort of vine like zombie arms or something are coming from the ground and if they hit you you explode and get reset =O

Next area goes back and forth and leads into a cave. The next corridors after have some purple ceiling blob licking it's teeth in them. I gotta bait it into lowering it's tong and then run past when it goes back up. A long corridor with giant skewers like in Mario follows, but they're green. Couple more corridors that mix it all up follow.
I then come across a corridor with tombstones but some of them are some sort of crab or whatever with a tombstone on their back. Then the next passage mixes things up again with enemies and I come into a rainy passage with weird statue like things that run fast when I'm on the same level as them. Or perhaps they're robots, idk.

I back and forth past the kissy statue things till I'm out of the cave again. Some more tombstone crabs in the next area followed by a passage back down into the cave with kissy statues. Then I come across some white eel like thing that shoots eyeballs or whatever =O
Several passages follow where the enemies get mixed up again and I keep getting reset in a section where I have to jump up right before kissy statues run into me. So hecking tightly timed =O

It takes me several more times just to make it through as the corridor is quite lengthy as it zigzags through and has several tough combinations that are tightly timed. I eventually make it through the room and come across save geezer.
I keep going right, and then down to the right to get to a house.
Inside is some dialogue with Rottytops and her brother and then I pick up the Heart Squid on the right side.

I go outside and this is a dead end so I go left and see an open space in the wall... I try walking and crawling in... no. I smack the wall and destroy a block so I can go through. Beyond it is a Frankenstein like thing. Oh it's the person Rottybrains and her brother were looking for. A dialogue and he mentions needing Squid Oil.
I'm in the room I skipped going to way earlier now. I give him the squid oil for a fast travel to skip the forest I went through while carrying Rottybrains. We travel back to where I found him and he gives me a Shrivel Thing... shriveled head 0.0

I go back up and left so I can fight the dark magic bat for it's magic. I interact with the nearby gate and can use the shriveled thing here. It opens the gate. I go back to try and take the upper right exit... can't reach. That just leaves the gate I opened then.
I head back to it and go inside.

Cackle Tower.
A passage with falling ceiling tiles followed by one that just leads down. The one after that has skeletons that wanna throw me a bone and turns into a tombstone that blows up when killed. Also some skull crawlies that turn into a mortar when dying. A save geezer room is just beyond it.

A large vertical room with platforms way up beyond reach. Door to the right but it's locked. I jump down. Left and right exit and some machine in the middle. Interacting with it just says it's like one of uncle's machines but it's got no power. I head left out the room and and in the corridor down some new plant thing in a pot that shoots seeds or whatever at me shows up.

The next room has some ceiling mouth but it drops skulls into a pit? That... looks too far to cross tbh. Yeah I just fall in and am not even close to making it.
I go back and take the right exit at the room with the machine. A large room with some skeletons. Clearly there's something above but it's way out of reach atm so I just continue right. I get locked into the room and fight 3 skeletons and then some batwoman shows up that likes to shoot a spikey ball at me and go back and forth between being a bat and a woman. I take way too much damage here but beat her.

A chest shows up and I get a key from it.
I head back all the way to the locked door. I open it and hit up save geezer before going through. The next room has some floating blob things with tentacles and a purple pulsating nether portal inside their mouth. Can't seem to kill them. I jump down to confirm I'm now above in the same room I was earlier. Oh I can jump into them and get launched out like a DKC cannon barrel. The chewing animation is kinda unsettling though.

I can see a chest above but seems I can only launch up, down and left right. Not diagonally. Can't reach it from here. I launch myself to the other side and go right out of the room.
The next room has some moving platforms that I need to time jumping from and to them while ceiling tiles fall from above.

A passage up follows with more moving platforms, followed by a passage left with more ceiling tiles and skeletons. I'm back in the big room again, but further up. More creepy cannon barrel like thingies. I let them shoot me around. Seems the red ones immediately yeet you and you can't realign yourself while in them. It yeets me to the platform with the chest. I get the dungeon map. Oh my.... there's quite a lot more here.

I jump into a red one from below expecting it to shoot me up, but it shoots me right. Guess they got fixed direction too then. I'm back in the large vertical corridor again and try to follow the platforms down. I smack some vases and fall down. Now I gotta do the loop again to get back up... oof.
I make my way back and cross the jump left as intended now. A passage with more skeletons. Looks like a large room on the map. Can't get up atm so I head left.
A large vertical room with moving platforms again. Looks like I can only go up 1 level atm... we're gonna keep zigzagging through these 3 aren't we...
No... it's some maze like thing with the crunchy yeet barrels due to it being the fixed direction red ones.

I shoot to a switch and shoot it with my pistol to open some passages.
I shoot around to the other switch and shoot it. Before jumping into the crunchy shooting barrel thing again I crawl into a passage covered with grates on the right for some money from some vases. I try shooting myself around to the heart squid I can see but can't get to it and fall down a couple times forcing me to go back up from the left passage. Only path onward leads me to the exit of the room but no way back.

I go down in the large vertical shaft room again. Left leads to a key door. I go down a bit further and right for a save geezer room.
The next passage right has a fight against moving skull things and then a potted plant and then some slimes. The room then opens again.
I explore the bottom of the next room before shooting myself up. I open a chest and get Risky's Hat. It lets me float across gaps, slowly falling down for more reach. There's a thing at the bottom floor here you can pass through from beneath but no way beyond it from here.

I head back and hit up save geezer. I go up the vertical shaft and can go left or right. Right is a dead end room so I go in. I hit a mechanical thing with my hair and it powers up. Doesn't seem to be doing anything just yet. Back out and then left I go.
I try jumping and gliding down to see if there's anything I can reach... nope.
Back up and I glide into the crunchy shoot barrel. I go left and exit the room.

Some moving platforms to go up, but there's undiscovered room below... might be something there. I go down a bit and find a heart squid on a platform on the right. There's a red crunchy yeeter that yeets me all the way up. I go back down to see if there's more... nope.
I go back up to the moving platforms and exit top right. A passage with some skeletons and ceiling tongues. I crawl into a space with a Heart squid here and continue back to the vertical shaft.

I glide across to a passage hidden behind a grate and grab a key from a chest with a ceiling tongue above it. Can't seem to go up further for the other key door so I jump down and use the other key door. Behind it I smack a metal thingy to activate it again.
Looks like I need to go back down now... I search the DK barrel room again for a way to the Heart squid, form the ground up, smacking al the walls to check for a hidden something. Far underneath the heart squid on the bottom floor I smash open a wall and get yeeted up into it.

I jump back down to the device. 2 green lights and 1 red. Need 1 more huh. I head left out the bottom again to where I couldn't cross a gap earlier. I glide to a middle platform and smash a potted plant and glide onward. The room beyond it is nothing but skulls for walls and floors 0.0
I smack the metal thingy here to activate it and head back to the machine. I smack it to activate it.

Well it's on but now what.... looks like an air current but gliding with the hat doesn't work.
No it does. Probably wasn't far up enough? idk.
I glide upward with the hat all the way to reach the top of the room. Locked door I already saw earlier on the right so I go left.

I get locked in again and fight 2 bats, followed by 2 bat woman and then a horde of bats. I then fight a couple potted plants and ride an air current for the chest with a key in the next room.
I run back and open the locked door. A short passage up with 2 little spiders.

At the bottom of a large vertical shaft again. There's fire statue head thingies shooting fireballs again. A lot of the walls are covered in spikes so I gotta dodge the walls and the fireballs while riding the updraft. Right is a short room up with 2 small updrafts in specific spots. I then save at the geezer in the next room. Only 1 room left beyond it. Gotta be a boss.

Yeah another of those mouth doors I need to enter in the next room. Ah the large spider form earlier? Empress Spider.
It lunges down and I gotta hit it's eye. I also shoots spider eggs that hatch into smaller spiders as well as a fireball that apparently becomes a fire wave across the entire floor. Caught me off guard with that, wasn't expecting it to expand sideways into a wave lol

The fight takes quite a while but I got plenty healing items so I eventually take it down. A tinkerbat shows up again afterward to drop me a map.
Upon exiting I go right to glide jump to the place I couldn't reach earlier. I fight a transformed bat here for some Dark Magic.
I check back with Rottybrains and her brother for new dialogue. They acknowledge finding Poe but nothing new otherwise.

I head to the save geezer before the forest to check out the forest again... or not. Shantae just says she refuses to go back in lol
Wanted to check for stuff there, but guess I'm taking the carriage back then.

I search around the other side for stuff. There's a Heart squid near (left) save guy and a chest in the room before it.
I then farm the zombies for some money, till I have 500, and then make my way back to the entry. I talk with Risky Boots again.
I give her the map and can go to Tan Line Island... pretty sure I can get some new stuff on the first island now though. Need to restock some potions too.

Scuttle Town
I head to the shop and buy a Shampoo and Pistol Tune-up. Shampoo is now sold out. I also buy Potion x 3. I then go to squidsmith for another heart holder.

I leave town out right and use the glide to get to the heart squid on the lone pillar. In the big room next to the save guy I use glide to get to the tree branch on the left and exit top left. A small room with a transformed bat. I kill it for another Dark Magic.
I don't yet have the height to reach the squid in the tree however, need to remember that one.

I check the palace area just to be sure, but I don't think there's anything left here. I then dash back to town.
I then go left of town and talk to the mayor again. I give 9 flesh pops and he gives me 50 dosh. I then try gliding off the left. No that's way too far lol. Can't even see the other side if there even is something there.

I check the steps up on the way back and find a hidden area with what sounded like a vase with some coins.
In town I check for new interactions and I get some dialogue in the bird egg house. Poor girl has a boyfriend and he reads something on an artifact her dad carries in and dies on the spot. I get told to fix it, but upon further interaction can't do anything.
I try re-entering. Nope no change. I head back to the ship and sail for the new island.

Tan Line Island
Desert island. Some new kind of small spikey cactus enemy and... guards? Looks like humans with shields and weapons. They're enemies it seems. I kill them and get meat chunklets... er... unsettling.
I go right to the next area and there's some sort of purple and green archer lady. There's some blue blob thing with a helmet in the sky to the left that I can lure over by gliding near it. It just explodes in 1 hit.

A path downward and one up top. Some scorpion woman up top. I defeat her and top right exit leads to a new area. More blue blob things. A broken thing has an interaction and Shantae has a monologue about the girls father from the interaction I just had back in town =O
I keep going right and come to a save geezer. Further right leads to some sort of tomb looking building. To it's right is the octopus... er... squid baron. I cheer him up and get X-Ray Specs from him.

I continue right and come across some workers. Their foreman mentions Saliva island. Seems to be a dead end. I go back for the tomb. Some kind of combination lock I can hit with my hair for input. I randomly hit it a couple times but no luck. Could try and brute force it.. 5 options per slot. 3 slots. Eh. The solution is probably somewhere else anyway.

I head back and use the drop down underneath the scorpion woman enemy and exit right. I interact with another giant vase thing and Shantae makes a sketch. The passage right has enemies on collapsing floor. I can't even make it halfway without falling through. Probably need to come back later for this. I head back to the ship and sail for Scuttle Town.

Scuttle Town
I get a sketch from the thing that killed the dude.
I buy another Pistol Tune-Up at the store to max it out. I heal up and then sail to Saliva Island.

Saliva Island
I search around the overworld first. With the help of the glide hat I can reach the upper left area in the timed statue room.
I navigate up a passage with armored crabs and mermaids shooting bubbles at me while climbing up chains. I get to a room with some frogs and purple bats followed by a small cramped room with 4 mermaids.

I climb down the chain into a room with another of those coffin statue thingies. Already saw this long ago but couldn't get to it.
I get another Mummy sketch. Shantae thinks for a bit and says the door combination is Lion Lion Gator.
I don't remember there being anything else left here...

I make a quick detour to scuttle island to heal and then go back to the desert island.

Tan Line Island
I head back to the tomb entrance and hit up save geezer on the way over. I put Lion Lion... frog... into..? Is that supposed to be a gator? =O
The door opens and I enter.

Tan Line Temple
Everyone's got blue eyes and calls me the princess =O
Some dialogue triggers and Shantae ends up in an even more revealing outfit @_@
I notice the off color wall on the left and smash it and crawl through the passage that follows. There's rats going back and forth behind grates I seemingly can't reach. Next room has a guard and I wonder what will happen when he spots me... can I still attack or... nope he just points and I get dragged back to the room I was in. I try exiting right. Stone door blocking me in.

I go back left and try attacking the guard when his back is turned... immediately I get carried back. So a sneak only section then huh.
I sneak past the guard on the next attempt and then zigzag back and forth to pass 2 more on the way up to the next room.
Next room has a guard on both sides and a chain I need to climb up in the middle and then the path splits and combines again.
I enter the door at the end.

I use a crawlspace on the left in the next room to enter a room with save money vases. I see something more to the left but can't reach it. I go back right and open the chest for a key. Beyond it is another door. A passage with 2 guards is beyond it. I can stand in the dark here to avoid being spotted. I get caught here and have to redo the area again.
I keep getting caught and look up someone else doing this... ahhhh... they can't find you at all when standing still in the shadows even if they bump into you... I kept trying to move when they were about to bump into me.

Kinda annoying it resets you all the hecking way though, but I get past the annoying passage with dark spots and guards now that I understand how the dang mechanic works.
I'm in a large room. The normal guards I already fought outside the temple are here... I can fight them. Is the stealth bit over then? I explore around to a door to the left but I keep exploring the room. There's a hidden area in the bottom right with some money vases. There's also a hidden passage with some money vases on the left on a platform.
I follow the room around to yet another door.

I go all the way back and go through the first door I came across. A sneak section... I try to follow after some guards walking along and get caught again. Reset all the way back... ffs. Why not use that large room as a checkpoint.
I head back all the way to that corridor and make it past. I then navigate some more passages after going through a door. At the end is another door. I end up in a new section of the large room with 2 more doors. I take the upper one first.

A drop down with a split with a door on each side on the way down. I keep going down and fall through the floor at some point into a rat infested pit. I navigate a passage and see someone in the same getup as me... and then another...
I drop out into the chamber that connects with my jail and I drop down and open a cell. I talk with Rottytops and she then leaves.

I go back to the main corridor here and beat up a transformed bat to free a dark magic cloud but I can't suck it up. I search the bottom and there's 2 passages out. I go back up and open my jail cell with the switch so I hopefully can just leave that way if I get dragged back.
I open the top right locked door and free... Sky? Why's everyone here lol
There's another locked door up top on the left, but I only had 2 keys so I enter the door at the top.

Ah back at the large room with plenty doors. I follow the same path and take the left door on the way down now. Heart Squid. Can't jump back up so I need to do that loop again. I check the other door... just a vase with money.
I check the bottom door in the secluded area in door central. It leads to a section I couldn't reach from the other side but there's nothing here but a single rat.

I navigate around again to enter door central and take what I think is the only remaining door in the top left.
New passage. I follow it down and find a hidden passage with a trampoline you can whip to flip it to get back up.
I go back down and find a chest with a key in the dead end at the bottom.

I navigate back to the main hall again and open the remaining locked door. Risky Boots. After the short chat I exit bottom left and come across a save geezer. I go left again and a guard sends me back to jail again lol. Good thing I opened it.
I then go bottom right and come across the 3 woman I let out of jail. The four of us pull down on a rope and it opens the door right.

In the next room it's the dude with the cane again. We get compared to a statue that looks nothing like us and then the actual princess walks in before we get to strangle the dude. I get a Golden Pickaxe.

I start outside the palace but run back in to suck up the Dark Magic. I go back to the hall of doors to try and fill in the map. I end up getting to the top right area of it from the room with the first chest. I was just jumping around and grabbed a chain above it. Gained a bunch of coins from vases. Which leaves a blank next to the orange door.
I end up crawling into there from the left. I checked that spot multiple times... wth.

I proceed to the exit of the area again and hit up save geezer on the way out.

Tan Line Island
I go right to the people swinging pickaxes... if there's any place to use the Golden Pickaxe it's probably here.
I give it to the foreman and they clear the path ahead. Green blob things with helmets now start flying over me as the miners scurry off.
I kill them but they keep spawning so I go right and find a hidden crawl-hole underneath a destroyed bridge in a pit. I go right and see an odd colored block. I can break those... but it's below me and I got no downward attack.

I continue right past the scorpion woman. I continue right and get to quicksand with skulls coming from it. I glide over and hope for shore on the other side. I continue right for more quicksand with pillars and get knocked in once, and on passing through again notice one section doesn't have skulls coming from it. It's also up higher. I jump in and let myself sink. I end up in a room with a transformed bat and kill it for a Dark Magic.

I hop back out and continue right into a new room with some blue floaty helmet blobs and a scorpion woman. Also below me is a passage beyond a destroyable block. Need some sort of downward attack for it again.
I continue right into the next room and come to a lengthy glide jump I just barely can't make... dead end? =O
I try again multiple times and manage to jump out of the quicksand at some point... =O

That's a weird way of making that jump work... was that intended?
I continue right and come across a hole in the ground at the end of the corridor. I check beyond it and then jump in.

Lost Catacombs.
I see a vase and a heart squid below behind some grating. To access I need a downward attack for breakable blocks again.
I can go left or right. I go left. A lengthy passage down with some spiky platforms and those little cactus things. I enter a passage on the right side and fight more cactus and mummy heads and a scorpion woman. I can go down or right.

I go right and it connects to a long vertical shaft on this end. I intended to go back up but got knocked down by a cactus thing. I have to then fight it and a sickle throwing mantis.
I go left at the bottom for a dead end with a locked door and a switch beyond it. I go back and up. A passage on the right with destroyable blocks and cactus things. I go back and further up.

Back at the starting room now so I go out left again.
I take a left exit on the way down for a save room. Flippable spiky platforms up and a mantis enemy. I kill it and jump down for the coins.
I see the grates on the left and go behind them for a chest with the area map.
Then I navigate back up for the other chest and get a key from it.

I save at save guy again just to lock that in. I go down the shaft all the way and right out into a dead end with a key gate and a switch beyond it. I open it and hit the switch. I go back up and right and this time down in the room where the scorpion woman was.
I shoot the switch that I just opened but it closes again after a delay. I go back up and right to the destroyable blocks cactus things room and navigate across to the top right.
A room with flippable spikey things again. I use them to get to a switch that summons blue platforms and then a purple one again and then a switch again. The blue ones go away after a delay. I follow the path for a chest and a key.

I try to glide jump from the platforms to a heart squid in the top left but fail. I then try looking for hidden stuff and run into a wall bottom right and something yeets me along around and into the heart squid... er, okay.
I go back and can't go down the cactus and destroyable blocks room so I head for the key door and flip the switch behind it.
I then go back to where you have to shoot the two lower switches and they activate the thing I'm standing on for a drop down.

Key door on the right now so I gotta go left. A passage down with some mummy heads. Left or right. Right has a save geezer and a dead end beyond it so right it is.
I use save geezer and go right again. Can only jump up for a chest it seems. I get Risky's Scimitar.
L while jumping and it's a pogo stick that can destroy blocks underneath. I use this to loop back to where I entered and hit up save geezer again after.

Back left then. A room with flippable platforms again. I jump up them and pogo scimitar the blocks at the ledge I get onto. There's a chest further up but currently unreachable so I leave left. A vertical room with 3 switches. They summon blue platforms that disappear after a delay. Timing is pretty tight. Would've made it probably if not for the bats at the top. I fall down and wait for them to come down so I can kill them before trying again. Takes two more attempts and I make it up.

I jump across the flippable platforms and pogo scimitaring onto them to avoid taking damage. I open the chest for a key.
I head back to save geezer to lock it in and then head back and up.
I open the gate and shoot the switch and an updraft triggers and I can hat ride it up. I then make my way back to the spikey cactus room.

I kill the cacti and pogo scimitar my way down. I navigate my way down breaking as many blocks as possible as I'll likely have to run back up later. I find a Heart squid in the left bottom corner. I exit right and get trapped with some monsters again in the next room.
First up are some spikey cacti, followed by a mantis and then 2 scorpion woman. I die here once due to not paying attention to my health and have to redo the bit since my last save guy, which isn't too much. I clear the fight easily when I get back there and the doors open again.

Beyond is a lengthy passage with a moving ceiling trying to squish me. I can pogo stick blocks in the floor for a hidey hole. I just take it slow and easy and make it across. A save geezer room is beyond it. The last room beyond it has a mouth door again. Boss time.
I enter and it's squid baron... aww... he complains about being a filler boss xD

He spins around damaging me when bumped into and then jumps around launching shock waves sidewards from where he lands. I pop a monster milk and damage him enough to start eating something and outdamage his heals. He then just denies death and goes Squid boss 2.0 and encases himself in some kind of steel armor xD
I seem to be unable to damage him normally now. I try jumping on him and nothing. I try scimitar pogo sticking him next. It undoes the steel armor and I can hit him again.
I have to pop a healing item and another monster milk and end up missing the timing so he encases himself in armor again. I then repeat the pogo stick and monster milk and beat him next attempt. Wonder if I even could've won that without the monster milk with that healing he does

He then goes on about admiring me and hands me a new map. I start back up topside, outside of the dungeon. I jump back in.
I pogo stick myself a path to the heart squid near the entry and then crawl right to hit the vase behind the other grate. I hit up the closest save geezer in the dungeon and then leave again and start heading back.

Tan Line Island.
The first breakable floor block I come across I pogo gone and I enter the passage underneath. I fight some rats and go right to a room with a Dark Magic bat. Mine now.

In the last corridor I destroy the other pogo block and drop down. A room with the blue lobster or whatever thingies jumping out of the abyss. I navigate my way across while dodging the green floating blob things near the ceiling.
A corridor with a cacti and then a big block blocking my way. I see a dark magic bat beyond it but I can't get past it now so I turn back.
I hit up the save geezer as I make my way to the boat. I leave for Spiderweb.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.

Spiderweb Island.
I head back to the chest I saw here and pogo stick above it to break the ground. Knew it. I open the chest for a Fossil.
I then do the same for the heart squid here. I hit up the save guy in the next room and then run all the way back to the ship.
Seem to still be missing a dark magic bat here, but I don't off the top of my head know where that is, assuming I even found it in the first place.

Scuttle Town
I heal up at the spring and then buy 2 x 3 potions at the shop. I then buy Pirate Flare x 3 and then 2 Silky Creams to max it out.
270 left... Scimitar Polish for 200. Increases downthrust damage. Sure.
I head to the squidsmith for another heart holder and then hit up the save guy. I go to Risky Boots and head for the new island.

Mud Bog Island.
After a talk with Risky at the dock I head right. Some beetle enemy that shoots up a ball that splits into smaller projectiles. Also some purple creepy slime things show up... has like 3 variations. I navigate the passage and then another one like it with the small spider enemies added in. I then find a save geezer room after that.

I navigate another room with more purple goop things and some beetles. There's an upper area I'm not sure I can reach. I can exit bottom right but instead follow the room round to the left for some destroyable blocks with a Dark Magic bat behind it. Yoink.
I try some jump gliding to the upper right ledge... I see the heart squid but can't get to it atm.

I exit right for a corridor with more purple goop things and a platforming over an abyss section with blue lobster things and purple bats.
I come across some skeleton in a robe thing in the next room and have a chat with it. It tells me of a village of lost souls and that I can't enter...
... well if I can't enter then this place is a dead end atm =O
I make my way back to the ship... oh... I could've used a pirate flare... took so much damage heading back too xD

Scuttle Town.
Let's see if there's a new interaction here I guess... though based on the skelly's description I feel like Rotty Brains could enter that place. Someone tells me I could use my scimitar to pierce zombie graves... have I found any? =O
I head into my uncle's place and hand over the fossil to Bolo.... and the Xray specs apparently. I get a Death Mask in return =O

Probably what I needed. I head left for the mayor and he wants 3 lobster tail, I only got 2. Back to town. Some new dialogue with Sky about the princess outfits. Some random woman mentions scratching sounds from beneath the palace...
I buy some potions and heal at the spring and hit up save geezer.

I run for the palace sewers to double check the scratching noises... I hear scratching in the music in the area... is that it? I check anyway but don't see anything new. Back to town and Risky Boots then. Back to Mud Bog.

Mud Bog Island.
I make my way all the way back to the skelly dude that wouldn't let me pass. Dialogue goes the same initially but then changes and I get a prompt to use the death mask. I may now enter and apparently never leave.

Village of Lost Souls.
New snake woman enemies. Heart squid in the wall immediately on the left... no path to it nearby. I try jump gliding to a path up to the right... can't reach. Down and right then. Save geezer room with a lavafall in the background =O

A room with some people follows. Exits bottom left and upper right. Three of them just want some colored coin. The human reminds me of rotty brains... Shantae seems to want to help her. I go bottom left exit and there's blue archers that fire 3 arrows in a row.
After beating them I look around... switch in the wall. Grey blocks on the floor blocking a path further left and to a heart squid to the right. I glide jump left and jump over the pillar. I fight some snake woman and shoot a switch for a useless (?) platform to rise. I see a cage above.

I continue left. A vertical corridor down with a red dragon head popping out the lava fall and multiple sack ghost enemies. I head out the right at the bottom and come across some more archers and new blue grim reaper thingies that respawn indefinitely if you kill them.
Beyond this room is another save geezer. I navigate up the next room for a red coin, only having to dodge a single red dragon from the lavafall... feels too easy. I navigate my way back out again and feel like the vertical lavafall corridor might be hiding something I can't use yet.

At the room with the people I go up, out of the right exit. There's more reaper thingies and red lava fall dragons. A dropdown from above as well it seems. I can glide across for an exit on the right.... and there's one below it too. I take the lower one for a dead end with a chest. Blue coin. I can interact with some sort of... cave opening. I smell too pretty and sweet and need to be more foul to enter lol

I go back one room and take the upper right exit.
A vertical shaft with reaper thingies and an air current. Reaper dodging huh. I make it up on the second try.
Next room has an interaction where Shantae comments on there having been a fire there. I see a hole in the ground... probably the drop down from earlier. Beyond it is a chest with a green coin.

I head back and talk to the red person... he wants us to play games and tells me to talk to the blue one first. I go save at save geezer first. I then talk to the blue gamer. A guessing game? Not quite what I was expecting tbh. Was expecting some sort of minigame.
First question is just heads or tails. I say heads and he tosses a coin and it's heads. I do the same with the green one and am correct again. Third one... probably Tails now right?
Yep... I wonder if that's fixed or random...
... anyway... I get a Locket.

I hand it to the person that reminds me of Rotty brains and after some dialogue get a Hopeful Flame. I go save at save geezer just in case.
I then head back to where Shantae commented on there having been a fire there. I use the Hopeful Flame. Some burly shadowy figure shows up for a chat. He produces some gas cloud to help me get inside the den of evil. I suck it up with the lamp... Manly Musk lmao.

I use the drop down and go bottom right to where I was told I smelled too sweet and nice and unleash the manly musk. The cave like thing opens and I enter.

Oubliette of Suffering.
An empty corridor with some flames spouting in and out. Next room has a rock thing and an archer before a lava pit. I progress rightward gliding across lava and fighting more boulders and blue archers. Next room is just a corridor down with some chains and spikey balls rolling along them. There's some flames at the bottom. I continue out right.

A moving platform over lava and a single beetle enemy and a chest containing the area map. I pogo stick the ground to find an opening into the area indicated on the map. In the next room I can see another Heart squid I can't reach. There's grey boulders on the right blocking progress and key doors on the left. There's 2 cages with eye switches on each side with multiple levels to them. Well bottom left is my only option right now so I take that exit.

I'm in a large pit with a gust of wind upward. This wasn't on the map. Was the map for this area incomplete? =O
Anyway... exit top and bottom left. Flames at the bottom. Can't seem to make it into the top left room so I take bottom left.
A gusty spike wall passage. Followed by a similar room, but with 2 gusty spike wall of death sections. Some ground flames in between
them. Before the end is a lone pillar with a chest with a key in it on it. Kinda wanna jump down to check what's there but I continue right.

I get locked in with a rolling rock thing. I kill it and 2 bigger rock things show up and they barf out smaller ones and try to roll me over. Not a hard fight. The path right reconnects with the air current corridor where I couldn't enter the top left, which is where I am now.
I go back to the chest and jump down and there's just 2 vases guarded by ground flames. I smash them and navigate back to the key door.

I open it and head through to the exit here. A corridor with more gray blocks, archers and ground flames. The room after it has a path up with wall flame statue heads that I need to step on to platform up. There's also some beetles here. A grey block obstructing a path on the lower end forcing me up too.I exit out the upper left, only way I can follow.

Next room has the pillar and cage/switch thing again but I need to time one of them by shooting and then gliding left to land in the other cage ending up there. Beyond it is a glide with very tiny platforms to land on to head further left across more lava. A pogo scimitar block at the end. Only way onward. I destroy it and jump down.

A large corridor with platforms up above out of reach to a chest. It slopes up more to the right and I then need to time my glides due to the low ceiling to jump left to the chest. Risky's Boots. When running press Y when Shantae glows.
I try it out and use a charge scimitar attack on the grey blocks here =O
Beyond them is a lava corridor... how the heck... wait can you run on lava with that dash? No she just dashes through it =O
It also lets me cross those quickly breaking platforms I saw in the desert place.

I make my way back to the cage elevator room and break some vases for coins on the way. I exit top right. A save geezer.
I go right and get locked in with 2 waves of the purple goop things. I go right and see a ceiling crusher... probably need to dash across... yep. Kinda tight too.
I smash through some vases and the wall on the other side and open a chest for a key.
I get squished on my way back but still have the key so I just exit. =P

I go back to the cage elevators and line them up on the bottom so I can exit bottom right. I open a key door in the next passage.
Some ceiling mouths dropping skulls again and some rolling rocks as I glide my way across lava.
What follows is a spikey wall of death corridor down, with ground flames and statue heads shooting fireballs as well. There's multiple paths zigzagging around too. Need to time it so I avoid the fireballs being shot as getting hit gives me recoil into the spikey death walls.
I manage to make it down on the right side where the path gets really tight. Also smashed some vases there.

The next room has a really far jump... how the heck?
Oh... seems I can jump while doing the scimitar dash and then glide for much more momentum and jumping way further. I need to do this like 3 or 4 times in a row and kill some rolling rocks on the landing sites. After them are a couple more jumps follow where I can regular glide across. Such a lengthy corridor.

Next room has a hole in the ceiling but it doesn't seem to do anything so I try pogo sticking the ground and follow a corridor behind the wall around while repeating it when stuck. I manage to make my way down and fight a purple goop enemy.
The room after is just some lava with normal platforms and some beetles and purple ceiling goop.

I'm then in a vertical chamber with switches that make temporary platforms appear and I platform my way up. At the top some ceiling tiles try to make me repeat it but they miss. I exit left. More wall switch while in cage to go to other side of pillar shenanigans here.
I go back and forth from side to side and then drop down at the top to grab the Heart squid along the way. Then it's back up and out right.

A lengthy corridor follows with some big boulder thingies that like to roll and vomit smaller ones and some ceiling goop. I need to do the dash attack to advance here. I need to keep my momentum in the next room but aborted it... so I have to exit and re-enter and smash through again. I also end up smashing through some blocks further in which stops me from going up to some coin vases... awwww... mean.
I end up back at the cage elevator puzzle again from the middle left.... all that for a loop? =O

Now I gotta solve it again for the middle right. Takes a couple attempts but I solve it with the newly accessible switch. The corridor right has another big rock ball enemy and a bunch of flames and some ceiling goop. I use the run attack to access a vase behind a grate for some coins. I then just glide across the lava to the right. I meet save geezer again.
The room beyond is another mouth door so it's boss time.

Some goofy looking dragon swoops in... Dagron... really? xD
It's got a spiky tail and flies. It keeps doing a spit looking attack that's probably supposed to be a fire breath or something.
I mean I probably need to use the new mobility attack here, but his annoying spit breath keeps interrupting me.
Ah it's just timing to get it done uninterrupted. Some ceiling spikes drop down and I can stand on them to jump to his eyes and attack him. He'll then perch and can be attack spammed. I got to repeat this several times and he explodes.

A tinkerbat shows up to drop a map again afterward. I get kicked out the dungeon again and the burly shadowy figure gives me a Lost Soul.
I head back in for the heart Squid near the cage elevator and get stuck on it so I look it up... oh ffs. Need to keep the dash attack going all the way from the left area and then smash through some walls in this room to get to it. Aborted it too early to find that out... I now do so and get it.

That gives me an idea for that spot with the sus hole in the ceiling with nothing there though... I'll go over and try ramming the wall there...
.. oh, not quite what I was expecting. Was thinking I'd open a new path here and the ceiling is the way back. Nope. A heart squid drops down from the ceiling. I then complete the loop again and make my way back out.

Village of Lost Souls.
I head back to the room with the people and then left and use the formerly useless platform to get just enough speed to smash through the gray blocks here for the Heart squid. Still a switch out of reach and an upper left area I can't get to.

I continue back out and save at the geezer. I try building up momentum for the charge dash in the room before the exit. I can do so at the bottom and smash my way into the wall. I then jump up to the Heart Squid here.
I exit and the guy that let me in complains about the balance being broken.

Mud Bog Island.
I try to get the Heart squid in the room right of the save geezer, but can't build up momentum anywhere in this room.
I hit up the save geezer and then use a Pirate Flare to return. I give Risky the map and a new island unlocks. Seems to be... the second last one. Missing 2 Black Magic bats and a Heart Squid here. Know where the latter is. One of the bats is probably in that place I couldn't reach in the Village of Lost Souls. I sail back to Scuttle Town.

Scuttle Town
Looks like the new owners finished their renovation.... ugh, ugly. Uncle tells me Bolo has disappeared. I keep talking to everyone in town again and heal at the spring. I try the boyfriend statue... was expecting it to be the lost soul tbh. Need someone who can speak to the undead. I go to the shop and buy Learn Recover and Learn Power Kick. I also buy 3 Auto Potions.

I hit up squidsmith for 2 more heart holders. I save at the geezer and then make my way to the palace. The new owner mentioned it and complained a bunch. Let's see if I can help hinder him. I just dash zoom all the way over smashing through a hill on the way.
I talk to the 2 women from drool island. More comments on his sword. I head back and try the heart squid... out of reach.
I check the new passage I created in the hill and can jump into the hill for an invisible maze... just a coin vase it seems.

I dash back to town and try dash glide jumping left from the mayor. Nothing. Either there's nothing there or I need even more reach. Got considerably farther and still saw no land on the left. Map corridor keeps extending though. It's sus.
I dash back to town and save at mr geezer and then sail off to Spiderweb Island.

Spiderweb Island.
Still need a Dark Magic bat here. I open a hole in the ground in the very first corridor and then pogo scimitar again and fall into a new room... did I never check this? =O
No wait was there a chest here before? Well whatever... I fight the Dark Magic bat here and kill it.

I go back out and make my way to Rottybrains' house. A dialogue follows with her and her brother. I exchange the Lost Soul for a Spirit of Joe. Shantae also mentions meeting someone in the Village of lost souls... knew it. No further interaction for that atm though.
I then trade the Death Mask for a Pirate Flare. Seems like a bad trade... probably didn't need it anymore though.
I then make my way all the way back to the ship. I sail back to Scuttle Town.

Scuttle Town
I try interacting with the boyfriend statue again. I bring him back to life again and he ditches Sky... rude.

Tan Line Island.
I head to the room underneath the palace/temple area on the outside.
I start a dash and keep it going all the way through a hill and then across the enemy infested collapsing platforms to smash into a wall near a chest. Some coins drop down. I open the chest for the Enchanted Blade.

I head back out and then go right past the temple till I reach the drop down for the Dark Magic bat I couldn't reach some time ago. I smash through the big block and then kill it. I hop up to get out again.
I save at the geezer and dash back.

Scuttle Town
I sail back to Scuttle Town again after doing some inventory. Missing 2 bats and a squid here. I know where the squid is. Saliva Island and Spiderweb Island I have them all. Same for Tan Line Island. Missing 2 bats and 1 squid on Mud Bog Island. Haven't started Frostbite Island yet.

I dash back right to the dude who wanted the sword. I give him the sword and he sticks it into the air and turns into a He-Man ripoff rofl.
I then dash back to town and heal up at the spring before hitting up save geezer. Time to check out the new island.

Frostbite Island.
New dock and new chat with Risky. I build up a dash in the next corridor and rush through till I slam into a wall. A Dark Magic bat fell down?
I kill it because mine now. There's ice slopes I can't run up and need the power dash for. Also some ice wolf enemies.
I progress right and overhear the Ammo Baron talking to some weird crocodile with a turret helmet. I get called a peasant and tasked with retrieving the targeting module.

I continue right and do some more slope dashing killing a wolf or two and some tombstone crabs. A passage with more wolves and some purple bats follows it. Beyond that is a save geezer room.
I dash through a large corridor with wolves and then upon entering the next area go back. I see a Dark Magic Bat and hit it a couple times before it jumps up. I need to go back left to build momentum to jump up there...
... and it's gone.. went back down lol. I kill it for it's Dark Magic.

I have to go back left all the way as the beginning is the only spot to build up momentum here it seems.
I continue back right and through some more slippery slopes with wolves. Followed up by a large vertical corridor where you jump back and forth from chain to chain dodging spikey balls. At the top the area changes.

Propeller Town.
Starts with a small room with nothing to do. I go right and find save geezer. The next room has floating platforms with chains and propellers to flip you off them. Also some sort of grabby robot enemy. Three exits. Up left or up right or down right. Up right is unreachable atm. I go down right. A corridor with a chain downward. No enemies for 2 rooms now =O

Next room has the DK rocket barrel wannabe things. Pick a path barrel yeeting it seems. I go into the first and see no way to the heart squid platform. First green one that lets you control direction... Right to a red one and another green one. Down leads back. Gonna have to trial and error this and note down the paths.

I find the way to the squid from the middle crunchy thing at the start of the area. Is this everything here? Might be.
I leave and go left again and take the upper left exit at the 4 way room. Some chain on a propeller. Need to ride it across I guess. Spikey stuff on the way over. I need to swing from one propeller chain to another one several times and they go up and down at annoying times. I either fall or get impaled several times.

I finally make it across. Next corridor has some chain going down again and I exit left.
In the next room there's chain to chain jumping with spikey balls to annoy you. In the middle a platform with a robot. I keep heading left and get to a room with a chain and an air current. Gotta ride it up while dodging spikes and going from left to right.
Halfway is a room to the left with a save geezer. I save and go back out and up to a room with a grabby robot and a bunch of kissey robots. I kill them and see a long jump... another dash glide jump huh. I do so and then glide into an air current to make it to another platform where I kill more robots... oh, another dash glide jump.

In the next room I can either jump down or go across to the right. I go right. Another air current spikey blocks dodge course. I somehow make it through first try and meet another save geezer.
The room beyond is a corridor with some grabby robots and chain to chain jumps with spikeys. I then see an air current up and some purple bats and try to go up. Can't reach. I look at the room on the map and go down instead. Some chains and an exit right.

I come across Bolo here and it's time for some dialogue. He gives me the Targeting Module and wants me to take it to the Ammo Baron... I don't wanna but probably don't have a choice. I go right after the chat for a room with some grabby robots on a conveyor. I go right for a room that looks like something might be high up but I yet again can't reach. Can't even see if there's anything there or not.

Oh well... right again for a drop down. I'm back at where I jumped a gap and went right. Let's go down this time then. Just an exit bottom left. It takes me to the ledge I couldn't reach in the upper right in the 4 way room. Just a fast way back then I guess.
I go to the nearby save geezer and then use a Pirate flare as it looks like I can't do anything else here atm.

I talk to Risky to leave. Only found 2 bats and 1 squid here so far :sadwick:

Scuttle Town.
I go soak in the spa and then hit up the shop and the save geezer. I buy both Potion x 3 and Auto Potion x 3 twice.
I hand the targeting module over to the Ammo baron. I then talk to him again and trigger a dialogue and cutscene where a cannon gets fired and blows up the Techno Baron... lol, okay.

I talk to Risky Boots to go back to Frostbite Island.

Frostbite Island.
I head over to the hole in the floor that was once the floor underneath Techno Baron. I jump in.

Abandoned Factory.
A chest and key door to my immediate left. Chest is too high up. I head right into a corridor of moving platforms in front of waterfalls with blue dragon heads poking out. The next room has a save geezer.

The next hallway is vertical and has a dropdown from above and a key door. Some blue versions of the armored crabs here and a drop down.
Missed some platforms off to the side while jumping down. At the bottom there's a heart squid beyond reach and another locked door.
I exit bottom right for a 1 way moving platform section above deathgoop and blue lobster thingies jumping out of it. There's also waterfall dragonheads and spikes in certain areas. At the end is a small room with chest with a key in it.

I head back to the vertical room and open the locked door and exit left. Some new small robot enemies that send out shock waves along the surface they're on periodically. Next room has some sort of 2 robot eyes stacked on top of each other thing with an orb on top of that... eye leasers? No it just explodes upon taking damage and sends out big fireballs. There's also some grabby robots here.

Next room is a corridor down with some weird looking slime bubble things with eyes. A save geezer is beyond them.
I head right for a room with deathfog underneath and some spikey blocks in the way... I see no visible air current... oh there's one of those flying chain things... blended in kinda well.
I ride it through and jump off at the other side. A hallway down with kissey robots and an blue armor crab. A way out in the ceiling, but beyond reach. I follow it down and exit left.

Next corridor has conveyors and falling ice blocks. I first use them as a stepping stool and then have to dash to outspeed another one before it blocks my way. I get squished by it falling on me on the first attempt, but make it past next attempt.
The next corridor has the red demon crayfish things that explode upon death. Plenty of space to build momentum here. I don't do that and make my way through slowly and see a chest behind a grate. I pogo stick the ground above to get to it and get a key from it.

I then build up momentum and charge into the next room and then a wall. I jump up and over for a chest. Risky's Cannon. B button to jump again while in air. Double jump huh. There's a way up out of the room, but it's way too high even with double jump. I head back.
As I double jump up out of the vertical room on the right end here I land on the Heart Squid.

I redo the loop left and notice I can double jump again from a glide =O
I don't see a way further up around here so I head back down to the cannon room again.
Oh wait I can just fire it multiple times without glide? Three times it seems.

I jump up out of the cannon room.
Next room has spike walls of death and I see a chest behind a grate. I jump my way up and on a platform on the right decide to try and crawl. Success.
I fall into a hole onto the chest and get the dungeon map. I then crawl out left, out of the spike wall... that just feels wrong.

I make my way up top of the room then and there's a small robot and a kissey one. I go past and exit right. I'm at the starting room and open the key door. I then double jump up to the chest on the pillar for a new key. I then make my way right to the top floor save geezer.
I go up the drop down from above and navigate my way up for another chest with a key. Heart squid here, but how do I get to it... I try pogo sticking from above and it works. I cannon jump out and go save at the geezer again.

I go back right and down to open the key door here. A short area with a conveyor... to build up speed I guess. I jump past and open the other key door first. There's big gray blocks and a chest above. I dash forward more and on the other end past the conveyors is another heart squid behind a grate. I can crawl close to it from the left, but something blocks me from actually reaching it.

I need to build momentum on the upper conveyor while dodging falling ice blocks and then jump to the gray block blocking the chest it seems.
I actually make it but smack into the gray blocks without smashing them. Need to let go of the glide button sooner I think, gonna be a timing thing. I manage to do so after about 5 fails. I open the chest for a key.

I head back left and open the gate and there's a mouth door in the room beyond. I try building up momentum here and going back right for the squid... doesn't work. The crawl hole cancels the smash through. No pogo stick from above... from the right then? That seems... painful.

I first go back to save geezer to lock in opening the boss room. Then I go back and start trying from the right. I fail multiple times trying both from the bottom and from the middle...
... I then go left again and search around more and find another crawlhole... seriously, how'd I miss that one -.-
It takes me to the heart squid so I go back to the boss door after and enter.

Steel Maggot boss. Robot maggot.
It has 3 buttons on top and shooting it just pauses it and then it launches projectiles.
Ah, I need to hit them in order... hit a different one and it just went green. After hitting all 3 a button shows up on it's tail to spam attack on. It mixes up the pattern in which you need to hit it, but after completing 4 cycles it blows up.

A tinkerbat shows up again to give me a map.
I get kicked out the dungeon again and I speed my way back up to Propellor Town. Such mobility with the cannon and hat =D

Propeller Town.
I hit up the save geezer at the entry. I work my way up and save at both geezers along the way. In the corridor past the top one I notice a hole in the ceiling and cannon blast my way up to see if there's something. I find a hidden room with a Heart Squid.
I then proceed left and glide and cannon jump my way up to the top left exit. A completely new area.

A large room with multiple chains and spikey balls on them There's also some grabby robots. I smack some vases but don't find anything here so I take the upper right exit. A dead end room with a Dark Magic Bat. Yoink.
I head back out and down towards... Bolo? No new dialogue.

I head right and jump up with the cannon in the passage I thought might have something. I find a heart squid at the top.
I then head to the nearest save geezer to lock this all in.
I then use a Pirate flare to get back so I can check on the ship if I'm still missing anything.

Risky mentions the cannon. I hand over the new map and unlock the final island. I click back to Frostbite Island. Looks like I got everything there. I sail to Mud Bog Island.

Mud Bog Island / Village of Lost Souls.
I cannon my way up to the heart squid I couldn't reach in the corridor right of the save geezer.
I make my way back to the Village of Lost Souls to the area I couldn't reach before. Upon entry in the first room I notice the ledge up to the right, also out of reach. Completely forgot about that. I cannon jump over and exit right to fight a bat for it's Dark Magic in a small room.

I save at the geezer further in and head out bottom left from the room with the gamers and human version of rotty brains. I manage to break the floor above the switch with the cannon =O
It moves the cage a bit, but I don't even need it anymore lol. I just cannon jump my way up the upper left exit. I fight the bat in the small room there for it's Dark Magic.

I try to use a pirate flare to escape fast... can't use it here... 'here' being in a dungeon, I guess?
I make my way back out and try pogo sticking the ground above the switch... it works... could've used that thing long ago then lol
After making my way outside I use the pirate flare so I don't have to run back.

I check the other islands at the ship.... it's just Scuttle Town left now. 2 bats and 1 Heart squid. The latter I know.

Scuttle Ammo Town
I check the people and house on the left side for new interactions. Nope.
I head out left and give the mayor two super monster milks. I then try the long jump again.
I easily make it across thanks to the cannon jumps and exit left for a small room with a bat. Had a hunch something was here.

I then head back to town. I heal at the spring. At the shop I stock up on some Potions, Auto-Healing Potions and Pirate flares.
I check for new interactions on the right side but nope. I head out right and through the forest to where the Heart squid is.
I cannon jump my way up the heart squid.

I head back to the palace. There was a vertical corridor inside, let's check it. Nope.
Well there was that person that mentioned the sewers and scratching noises. I loop through the dang place twice before I notice I can actually build momentum in 1 spot. From the corridor down on the right go 1 room left at the bottom and smack the blocks there and then build momentum from room edge on the right towards the left. I keep it going all the way till I smack into the wall on the left and a bat drops down. Bit of annoying room to fight it in as it keeps flying up but I kill it and take it's Dark Magic.

I then zoom all the way back to town to hit up the squidsmith. I exchange my 8 squids for 2 more heart holders. I then leave and save at the geezer.
Not sure what to do with the 20 Dark Magic I collected. I head to Risky Boots and sail to the last island.

Lonely Grave.
Risky talks about blowing up the place upon arrival and tells me not to wonder off... er... isn't that what I usually do after landing on an island :woop:

I go right... looks like an 1 room area. Some dialogue follows and the Pirate King resurrects as some purple specter with bones.
He grabs Risky and disappears. Nothing here so it's back to the ship. Shantae starts acting like a pirate and I pick the Heave Ho option lol.
He mentioned the palace so I go back to Scuttle Town.

Scuttle Town.
Place is all dark and rainy now. Nobody outside, but the houses can still be entered. I try entering a new house but can't.
Some new dialogue with Sky and Uncle but nothing interesting.

I then head for the palace. The enemies here have changed and the passages are all dark and shadowy. I just ignore everything and dash straight to the save geezer and then dash on to the palace.
The palace is now called Pirate Master's Palace. I enter. The guards are incapacitated and there's stuff growing all over the place. The library is blocked off, but I can now actually go up in the passage before it. I make my way up some seriously tight triple cannon jumps with glide interruptions to a passage on the left. I can still go further up, but the ledge above seem to be just ever so barely out of reach.

The next corridor has a spiky ceiling and a death pit and spiky blocks along the way left. I need to shoot switches and jump on timed platforms to cross left. I fall in or get squished numerous times but make it through eventually.
To the left is a small corridor up, followed by a spike ceiling and wall corridor with the crunchy yeet barrel things. Green and red ones. There's also the green spiky skewers things again and I need to time stuff to launch through without getting hit.
I get impaled on the last corridor multiple times before I realize there's no ceiling above the crunchy DK barrel... I shoot up and get yeeted over them....
So that last one actually was impossible lol

Upon exiting I hit the switch which creates a platform a bit underneath. To get back up faster I guess?
I continue jumping up the central corridor. A passage right this time. I try to dash jump glide over the spike things when at some point I land on some and see Shantae just running on them... so I can run on them as long as they are underneath? =O
I mean hitting the wall spikes still explodes me.... I initially try the lower path, but then switch to the upper path as it seems to be easier. I get impaled into exploding numerous times and need to pop a Healing Potion. I then eventually make it across all the way.

The first loop was still somewhat doable but this one seems pretty painful so far...

A short vertical corridor follows again and then it's back left for a lengthy challenge corridor back again. Air currents this time. Spiky blocks that need to be avoided. More of that controlled glide stuff then huh. I reach a platform to stand on roughly halfway and then the green spiky skewers start interfering... nothing too bad till I need to thread the needle between two spiky blocks with a spiky skewer going up and down in between. Egads. Just why?
Then there's a split with a spike block and a spiky skewer both up and below. I try below first and fail. I then try up and after a couple attempts pass by it to glide to the exit.

Well this area is kinda ruining the fun game buzz I was on. Why ruin your game with this annoying precision stuff? Ugh.
I activate a switch again for a way back up so I hopefully never have to do those two painful corridors again. I then continue up.
A passage left again.

Spiky roof. Purple blocks above a death pit with spiky blocks in between them. Seems too tranquil after all that pain.... missiles are gonna nuke the purple blocks from below, aren't they?
Hmm... nope... seems to be a 'create your own path through this maze' of sorts... deleting the wrong block might hinder you. There's an annoyingly precise drop down after the first section where you gotta squeeze in between a 1 tile gap between 2 spike walls. What you delete persists between attempts and it takes me several times to navigate through, getting impaled multiple times.

A short corridor up with some vases to whack for some hearts follows again.
Next passage back right has a death pit. Nothing else visible initially. I triple cannon jump glide right and there's those breakable floor platforms that collapse as you step on them. They stay long enough to land on and replenish your cannon jumps though. I keep going right and come across a swarm of purple bats in a heart shape. I just jump over them and move on. The end already. These 2 corridors are the most doable of the bunch so far tbh. That middle loop was pure pain.

I flip the switch again for a platform back up. I then jump my way up and reach the ceiling of the vertical corridor at last. An exit right... might be the boss beyond it... surely they'd put a save geezer somewhere in this place though.... right? Haven't seen one yet.... *crosses fingers*
I go right and it's a save geezer room. Phew. I obviously save as ain't no hecking way I wanna do that rubbish again.
I go right for a corridor with come candlestick things I smack for hearts to fill up my HP again. Nothing else here. The calm before the storm.

I continue right again and see the Pirate King. There's a bit of dialogue with him and Risky and then we fight.
Oh... it's the Pirate Master.... why have I been calling him Pirate King... eh whatever.

He just warps around a bit for a while as I keep attacking him with my hair and then after several times he starts shooting purple orbs. He then summons skeletal... spines? To stand on, and I can cannon jump up to whichever he isn't standing on. He keeps teleporting between them and I just keep trying to attack him as I popped a Super Monster Milk =P
He eventually gives me some taunting dialogue about me not packing much of a punch. He steals Risky's weapons and clothing, stealing all my powerup abilities. He then grows gigantic and has shoulder cannons now... it's Attack on Titan time =O

He spams some attacks in a row... first bouncy cannon balls that somehow don't explode and I need to avoid them. Then scimitars with one space left open that I need to get to before they slam down. Then some pistols shooting in a row and I get to do some touhou like projectile dodging. He then creates the spine things again and puts some red clone things on them. I kill them with one hit and then jump up and I can smack his face with my hair.

I pop multiple Super Spike Balls and Bubble Shields to help deal with the touhou and jumping up the spines sections. I pop Monster Milk and Healing potions several times as well.
He eventually starts exploding. He then tells me to hand over the Dark Magic or he'll hurt Risky...
... 'Yes' or 'I've got no choice' are my options... Yes I guess.
Shantae lets the Dark Magic out, but it's Light Magic now. I press X to absorb the Light Magic.

The fight resumes and he uses the same attack waves, but for the scimitars the ones near the open space keep switching with it to make it harder to get into the opening and the pistols chase you after firing their shots. When I jump up to his face again my hair now does 999 damage with every swing =O
Oh the ball attack has 1 more cannonball now. Didn't even notice that first time around lol

I keep attacking till he seems to collapse to just his head with spinning eyes.
Then there's a cutscene with Risky telling the people at the cannon to fire. The fight then continues with just the head as my opponent and a crosshair shows up on screen. I can keep the head stationary by attacking it and need to press A to shoot the cannon at it. I hit it like 3 or 4 times and it explodes again.

Dialogue follows where the Pirate Master says he can't be destroyed... only to promptly explode.
Risky takes her stuff back and says goodbye. The other people then show up for a chat.

Afterward Shantae is back in Scuttle town and grants the mayor's wish and all the redesigning the Ammo baron did gets undone.
The ammo baron and his people leave and Shantae is back to being the guardian.
A bunch more dialogue follows at Shantae's place and then at the lonely grave with Risky.

The credits roll. Loved the game except for those annoying precision corridor on the way to the pirate master boss fight. The second loop was pain. Those loops ruined it quite a bit.
The final boss fight was actually not that hard yet rewarding thanks to item spam galore on my end =P

A thanks for playing message showing your stats afterward. 32/32 heart squids and 20/20 Dark Magic. Already knew that =P
16 hours and roughly 5 minutes of play time =3

I unlocked a Wallpaper and Pirate Mode and then another wallpaper for clearing the game.
Completion percentage though? I go back in to where you pick save files and see it say 100%
