    Hello everyone...! This thread is mainly aimed to staff member, and it is a suggestion about the rules etc.

    I have recently received some FAIR bad rep by an unknown person, and it was because of a post that I made in a spammy thread in OC. I actually tried to edit it and add something else as I recognised it was spammish, but the thread got locked before I could have the chance. So it remained that way, which then got me bad rep.

    Anyways, after this happening and some other threads I observed, I have recognised that posting into a spam thread is considered spam itself, and shouldn't be done.
    So I was wondering: Is it possible to make this more clear to all members by adding a reference of it in the rules or somewhere visible?? Something like a bracket or so that says that posting in a spam thread is also considered spam etc...

    Thanks in advance...

    Well, that's not a very bad idea...I think SPPf also has that rule. If you post anything in a SPAM thread, including "This is SPAM." or whatever, then people consider that as SPAM as well.

    I wouldn't mind enducing that rule, but I really never saw the true point in it even at SPPf. XD But I suppose it would limit people from spamming things up with four word sentences. <.<

    Maybe we can also add that if there's a SPAM thread around, just report it without posting in it. Unless it's like someone making a simple mistake like putting a thread in the wrong forum, or making duplicate threads, then you should post saying what mistake they made and that you'll report the thread to a moderator or something like that.

    Otherwise, if you can tell that the thread starter's intentions were spammy, just ignore them and report it. By posting things in their thread it kind of gives them what they wanted. >.< Weeeeeeeeell, I'm done for now. ^_____^

    Yeah I think you got my point, Kelsey... ^^ *pokes*

    And as you said, some additional rules on the matter like the ones you mentioned would be great... they will at least reduce the spammage and make spam threads end quickly...

    It would also be good for new members to have this labelled clearly, so that they do not do such mistakes...

    To me saying something like "This thread is spam and should be locked. *Reports" then it's fine. But after a member has done said it there isn't any need for 10 people after saying the same thing (after that post saying the thread is reported the next person that posts should be a Staff member). I think there should be one post like that just showing that the thread has done been reported and we don't need tons and tons of reports to be sent after that member done posted and said he/she reported the thread.

    I couldn't come up with a better idea. I agree.

    Hmmmmmmm...I think I like Andy's ideas better than mine. XD I suppose that's true, to have just one person say that the thread is SPAM and then report it, but I'm saying what if it's like the threads I got in PG? x_X They were purposely obscene.

    I just think with those types of threads, just report it without a post and let the staff take care of it. It kinda makes it seem like you're replying to the thread going "Aaaah, this is SPAM, you sicko, I'm gonne report this." or whatever. XD That's kinda what the spammer wants. <.< *hops away* :3

    Yeah, Andy's idea is cool...! *pokes Andy's beatles*

    I was wondering whether this is going to be implemented though...? o.O
    Ya know, just to avoid new members to make this kind of mistakes... ;)

    this happened to me not a while ago, too. of course, i didn't see Kylie's post reporting the thread, so... yeah. i think that this would make sense as it helps the mods and up a lot. when someone's like, "wtf this is spam!!111one *reports*" and then another goes, "don't spam *reports*" and then more come and go "this is spammy and it needs to be closed *reports*" it gets kinda annoying to the staff. i do think, however, if someone's asking a fair enough question in the Q&F, and another's answering after the thread was reported, they shouldn't get bad repped or whatever. of course, spam is different. i think that that should be added to the rules for newbies who wouldn't know better. ^^

    Finally, somebody else agrees. XD

    If I was a newbie in that situation, I'd be scared that the moderators were going to ban me or something. o_o;

    ...but we already get several reports in most cases anyway.

    Yeah...But members don't know it's been reported, so as long as it's one post saying you reported it, it's fine.

    What?! XD I wouldn't do that. You read me wrong then, Ty. I was saying that if you are a member just posting a thread like normally, you're not trying to be spammy at all, you're just doing what you do as a member. But let's say that you post the thread in the wrong forum or accidentally make a duplicate of another thread, then other members should kindly state what the member did wrong and then report the thread. --;

    Geez, way to make us look like bad guys, Ty. XD

    ~Kelsey

    I'm not, just stating that any mention of reporting a thread to a newbie would probably scare them. x.x;

    Jorge - The mess is usually cleaned up within a few minutes anyway, so it doesn't matter.
