Something I've been thinking about recently. It could have sub forums such as sports, fitness / exercise, fashion / aesthetics, health / nutrition, hobbies / interests and social interaction. I think there's enough content for a potential new forum to be made, but perhaps that is just me.

As much as that sounds like mostly something that would fall under Culture & Media, it does seem like it could generate some interest if people knew there was a specific place to talk about sports, etc. Dunno how much interest though.

Sports and fitness goes into Culture and Media, exercise itself can go in Other Voting Polls or Culture and Media, fashion goes into Culture and Media. Not sure what you mean about aesthetics. Beauty? That would go in Culture and Media as well. Health and nutrition, I would put in Other Chat given how many times I've seen threads related to that there. Hobbies and interests are kind of blurry and could apply to any forum we have, though Other Clubs seems like the best place for that (there's also clubs for some of these in Other Clubs as well). Social interaction? Not sure what you mean by that exactly - what would we discuss in those situations? I've seen a lot of threads about social interaction in Other Voting Polls.

I think it's a great idea but most of it is already covered in C&M. But having it consolidated in one place would be a nice thing, although I don't know what that would do to the OVP and OC&D activity. However quality of quantity...I don't know where I'm going with this but I do think it's a wonderful idea.

I'd say fitness goes more in Other Chat than C&M. But there's also a fitness club in Other Clubs that I think would work better.

Honestly, I think a lot of these things would do well as individual threads because there really isn't a whole lot of interest otherwise--certainly not enough for a whole forum, I think. Most of them would fit well as a Club of sorts so maybe if there are a lot of active clubs related to these interests, we'd look into adding a standalone forum but before then, I'd say no.

Maybe this is just might slight biases showing, but just because there's a club doesn't mean that a separate discussion can't happen in another forum... as increasingly rare as it is.

In any event, feel free to post stuff about sport/fashion/interests in C&M. If they drum up enough interest, then a sub-forum may be in order, but there needs to be a positive demand for one before it's even contemplated. No demand = no sub-forum, I'm afraid.

Just out of curiousity, where would religion be discussed on PC, if not in a lifestyle subforum?

I'm kinda echoing Nick here - it's a nice idea, but most of what I imagine being covered in a forum like this can already go in existing forums. I think it'd be better to keep things the way they are than to make another forum for stuff which we can already handle with the ones we have now, especially since we have quite a number of forums on here already and they tend to get mixed up and cross over with each other quite a lot. I see a lot of threads being shifted around OC&D, OVP, LTU&E and C&M (ugh this sentence) right now and I think it'd make that issue worse in a way.

tl;dr it's a cool idea but I don't know if I'm up for another forum that covers what we've got covered already.

    Other Chat & Discussions.

I worded this badly. I meant that the threads could be posted anywhere--and so long as they fit there, I'm okay wherever they are--but since I'd just used the Fitness Club as an example, I stuck with the Clubs example. (Though I did mention above that that Fitness would be more OCD territory than C&M... I just didn't tie the post together all that well.)

I actually love when clubs are kept as a more social thread whereas threads for the same topic can thrive on more objective discussion in other forums so I don't mean at all to take activity away from one place or another, haha.
