[Other] A Little Baffled

I am unsure of where to start. If I had a starting point, I think I would be good to go. I have wanted to do this for a while now, but I have been searching Google and no one is being very clear with me... That, or I am misunderstanding the answers.

I would like to make a hack of Pokemon Crystal, and I can't find it anywhere to download. I can take the original graphics or updates ones, as long as I have the Johto map. I would like to know what emulator I should use, and maybe some tools to get started. I have the whole story and stuff mapped out, but I am very baffled on where to begin.

Please help me.

Well first off no one here will give you a rom. Idk if links to rom sites are bad too so I wont risk it, but google is your friend.:)

Personally, I recommend Hackmew's toolkit. I would link to it, but I haven't made enough posts yet. It has a lot of things you'll need, plus a few things you might not. Also, if you ever need a tool that isn't there, or would just be cool, google is your friend. :)
