I'm not the best battler out there. Not even minutely close. I tend to think I have one of the biggest losing streaks of someone who tries to remain fair... At this point it's about 28-296 W-L against actual people (And I have been counting random wi-fi lately)
That's right... Statistically, for every win I have, I also have about 11 losses. (10.57... I'm just rounding up)
And a lot of those wins were against elementary kids who bothered me by bragging about their unbeatable all legendary team.... (I just HAD to knock them down to size with some EV'd, okay!)
But when I go against others who EV, I lose. Horribly. I over predict, and it kills me. I just can't seem to battle well.
And then there are the rare occasions that I do win. For a while I thought it was skill, but this video of mine (and yes, that IS my voice) made me think most were due to some unfair advantage on my part and thus I never should have won....
Like seriously... I think I had an unfair advantage there because my pokemon were better IV'd (Maybe better EV'd too. Not sure. ._.)
Regardless, I didn't battle much after that.
Come fifth gen, however, I've been getting some well IV'd Pokemon... I decided (well got help deciding) I'd EV them. I did, after a long while (no power items. :C)
I then took them to the battle subway to sort of try them as well as save BP for some items for them.
It was there, against the subway boss, that it became clear.
IT WAS ALL LUCK. PURE, UNCENSORED DUMB LUCK.
I actually didn't realize it fully until I rewatched the video I recorded... This 5-turn Ingo sweep probably would not have happened had Garbodor gotten toxic off. It probably would have been muuuuch closer because I'm just that fail.
SO yeah.... Until I feel confident in myself, any and all of my victories against other people who EV will be attributed to luck.
