Tito had gone to sleep, and didn't wake up until he heard a loud horn bellowing from the ship. "Attention everyone, the boat has reached Olivine City! Please make sure you do not forget anything in the ship. Thank you for your preference, have a nice day!" Tito knobbed his fingers over his eyes, squinting as the light flickered into them.
'Of course' Tito thought having been confused at first.
'Even the sailors are putting their lives at risk by bringing us to Olivine… that's why they need to stage the show that we're just a normal passenger ship! His eyes became tearful upon the realization.
'I will not allow these bastards to keep terrorizing my home!
Overflowing with determination, Tito picked up his personal belongings, and walked as powerfully as he could onto the main hall, where he was directed to the exit by a ship attendant. As Tito walked outside, the breath of fresh air immediately awoke him, and in the matter of a second, helped refresh his memories of everything that had occurred so far. He opened his eyes, and with a refreshed look, he continued forwards.
As Tito stepped onto the dock, he felt the sensation of being wobbly, like when you try to get up after being knocked down. He took a second to plant himself to the wood, and kept on walking like nothing, even though he had been in the water for the most part of his day already. As he began approaching the city, he noticed a line of Team Rocket members who were asking for ID cards, prompting him to take out his.
"ID" a Team Rocket stopped him upon approaching.
"Here" Tito replied as he showed the agent his ID.
The Rocket inspected the card in front of him before handing it back to the trainer in front of him. The Olivine train to Goldenrod will depart exactly at 1700 hours… be punctual.
Tito took his ID back from the agent, and not bothering to respond, he started to make his way towards the train station. He wouldn't need to stop anywhere else, and staying in front of the terminal would be the most foolproof way to
not miss the train. As he walked away however, he noticed that some of the other trainers had begun to start scenes against the Team Rocket agents who were inspecting the dock (much to his dismay). Tito simply took a mental note as to who not to work with. No one was going to make him blow his cover, no señor.
Tito made his way to the train station trying to get away from the scene as soon as possible. He didn't really care about the future of those who were being foolish back there; after all, if they got caught they would damn well deserve it he thought. He walked through the main road with the damned red R stitched to his back, which attracted both glares, and fright from the crowd of people in the street. It broke his heart to be seen like that, but this mission would later pay off, and worrying about the public image at this point would not be the smartest thing really. Finally reaching the train central, Tito went to the restroom, bought water and fruit (yes, fruit) and released Tyrogue who sat besides him, and they both began eating quietly.
* * * * * After a few hours waiting in the Station, the train finally arrived * * * * *
"Alright, 9 o' clock," Tito said as he got up "let's go Tyrogue." He then proceeded to board the train.
The train ride was rather uneventful, he could recognize some of the people from before, but didn't bother to walk up to them and talk, rather he just sat down, and drifted into a deep sleep before being waken up by an assistant who informed him of their arrival to Goldenrod City.
'Alright, we're just a bus ride away from meeting this Professor Namba' Tito thought as he got up, turned around to get his belongings, and departed the train.
On the station, he followed the arrows, which pointed towards the bus terminal. There he transferred to a bus headed to New Bark Town. Tito gripped Tyrogue's Pokéball tightly, and thought in a concerned manner: '
We're almost the Tyrogue… don't worry about a thing.'
Yet on another uneventful trip, Tito's body almost exploded. He was way too active to lead such a low-key life! First class boat ride to Olivine, private train ride to Godenrod City, and the commercial bus ride to New Bark Town were simply not cutting it. Upon reaching the small town, Tito jumped out of his seat, walked hurriedly outside the bus, and took a deep breath upon reaching the fresh air of
The Town Where the Winds of a New Beginning Blow.
Hastily he ran eastward, he had been here once before and remembered that although small, New Bark Town's coast was the most similar to that of Cianwood City. Upon reaching it however, he noticed, that Team Rocket had had its impact here too, as the coast was overflowing with trash, which made most of the species of Pokémon who lived there escape, leaving only Tentacool and Magikarp.
'Pity.' Tito thought as he sat down on the sand and let out a sigh.
'I got to go to Professor Elm's Lab… apparently that's where Professor Namba installed himself anyways' he thought as he got up and scrubbed off the sand on his pants.
He walked towards the northern part of the city where Professor Namba's Lab was located just south of a deserted forest. Attempting to head in he was stopped by a lab assistant who was holding a clipboard with a red R on the right chest pocket of his otherwise white lab coat. "ID" the scientist hissed through his brackets, prompting Tito to show his ID to the man silently. The lab assistant however was not satisfied with just the ID. Raising an eyebrow, he looked up at Tito through his thick glasses, and asked: "And who recruited you?"
Had he found something? Was he onto the Gym Leader's plans? Tito gulped before responding in a confident voice: "Doctor Wolfe."
"I understand Doctor Wolfe has been taking in recruits quite hastily these days." Not being able to find any fault with Tito however, he proceeded to let him in. "Take this, I'll take you to Professor Namba." He said as he returned the ID.
It didn't take long to reach Prof. Namba's private office, it was in here that the lab assistant dropped Tito off.
"So you say your name is Roberto Daviles… here we go… Dr. Wolfe again, weird…" the Prof. started talking, first directly at Tito before drifting off into his own little world. "Alright!" he jolted up from the seat after about two or three minutes of checking his computer. "I've got to talk to you." He continued straightening up, and looking directly at Tito's eyes.
"First off, this Team Rocket deal is nothing to be taken lightly… there is nothing you can do about it now, but you can't be half-assed with it, let's say it's… dangerous to do that. So, right now, you're what we call a private… a simple
grunt" he said accentuating the demeaning grunt part quite effectively. "Anyways, you'll go through what we call a Rocket Journey. You can use this time to both, rise in rank by defeating the Rocket leaders, and strengthen yourself. To think that even Jessie and James could be promoted to generals…" he paused as he began to drift off to his own world yet again.
"Oh, sorry about that" he said looking up at Tito. "Anyways, here you go." He said taking out a box and opening it after placing it on top of his desk. "These are some Pokéballs, a Pokégear, and a PokéDex, I'm sure I don't need to elaborate on." Tito simply nodded remembering the chip that lay in his bag. "Very well, and one last thing, you might want to use this." He said as he held out a strange-looking device(?). "It'll make your Pokémon stronger… there are still some side effects like personality-loss, but who cares about that right?" he asked with a malicious chuckle. He was so proud of this thing, that he was almost certainly its inventor.
Tito shared the professor's laugh. He had absolutely no intention of using it, but even less intention of jeopardizing the whole mission. If he was acting like a Rocket, he was going for the Oscar. "This'll be helpful." He lied to the scientist.
Another assistant who was much more laid off than both of his co-workers was promptly ordered to guide him out to a building where he would stay for the night. "Thank you" was the first, last, and only thing Tito told him, and the assistant left. Upon entering the building, Tito not trusting the Rockets headed to the bathroom, sat down in a stall, and inserted the chip into his PokéDex.
"Time to rumble." He told himself quietly.
