A Question About Pal Park

I heard that if a Pokemon is transferred to Pal Park, there is a chance its ability can change. So for example, if I sent a Porygon there would its ability maybe change from Trace to Download? And if so, if it didn't change first time but then I sent in a clone of the same Porygon later would the result be the same or would it maybe end up being different from the last one?

If you Pal Park something, because of the way abilities are decided in D/P, the pokemon's ability may change. But this only works if you evolve it after the transfer. This only works once. If you send over a Trace Porygon, it could evolve into Trace Porygon2 or Download Porygon2. If it keeps Trace, it will be an Adaptability PorygonZ (since Trace changes into Adaptability). If it changed to Download, it will stay Download when you evolve it again. Clones will either all change traits or all keep their traits.

Alright, thanks. So what I'm gonna have to do is raise my Porygon, clone it, send it over and evolve it until I get a Download one. Cool.

Um... no it doesn't work that way. Cloned pokes will always yield the same result.

No, it is the EXACT same Pokemon you had on your GBA game. Same stats, same moves, whether its shiny or not stays the same, same Beauty, Cuteness, Toughness, Smartness, and Coolness. Same everything.
