Are you the same people who beat the game in mere hours?

I was wondering because I've seen those on the site who EV Train their Pokemon, then I've heard of others who complete the game in 9hours. Do some do both? Is it possible? If it is, what's your tip. If it isn't, is it traded Pokemon you use to complete the game quickly.

    Let's discuss.

EV training is generally for people who fight comptetively. Im not sure if people EV train before they finish the Game, I, personally, Do not.

EV training is boring and I only do it when I want to vs someone. I usually finish games around 10 hours

They usually just rush through the game without any regards to specific EV gains. After they "complete the game", they start breeding and building their team, which includes EV training. You have access to more areas and more Pokemon the longer you've gotten, so could be reason why they rush first.

I've never done a speed run through a game, but, at least for my Platinum team, I played through the game normally, then went back, fed my Pokemon the EV reducing berries, then properly EV trained them from there. I know that it takes me 20-30 minutes to EV train a single Pokemon, and that's with using the vitamins, Pokerus, and the "Power" items (Bracer, Belt, etc.). Since you don't have those luxuries when starting a game from the beginning, I don't imagine EV training occurs in preparation for a speed run.

But I did the whole breeding thing for my "real" competitive team.

EV training takes a really long time.. and also, it took me over 100 hours to beat the game fully

I EV trained on Platinum. But I'd took it slowly through the game in the first place.

And, for example, on my SoulSilver, I have over 5 hours on, and I'm still at Azalea Town. It's not because I'm crap, EV training, or over-levelling. I just take it nice and slowly. I.e. I collect all the Apricorns, daily.

EV training takes a long time ... it takes me about 30mins to ev train a pokemon and thats about as fast as you can get (unless you pokesave which isnt against tournament rules but is still kinda wrong in my opinion)
