can someone tell me how onix evolves into steelix in silver version?

THe answer is to trade Onix while it's holding a Steel Coat.

Well, Golem evolves by trade so no... Rhydon? Not a very good Pokemon but it's a fully evolved rock element!

Good basically depends on how you see a pokemon as... but IMO I dont see any good rock pokemon besides Steelix, and Golem (which sadly needs to be traded)

I just said that... Rhydon isn't too good, nor Corsola... Too bad it's silver. Then you could get one like Aggron!

Steelix ain't Rock. And Rhydon CAN be good, it's just that the low special stats and speed are such a hinderence. Sudowoodo can be ok ingame. Donphan is a great pure Gound type. Ooh, Aerodactl!

What is a good steel pokemon that has at least one evolution?

Scizor? It is an evolved Pokemon, but from a bug/flying type. There's Magneton too. Magneton, Steelix and Scizor are the only steel types that you can get and evolves.
