    Pokemon Sparkling Silver!
    A revision of Pokemon Gold/Silver

Not necessarily my first rom hack, but rather my first actual project. Doing this was more difficult than I thought; more so than just going through a few simple tools like the starter changer.

However, there are a few things I have planned out. Instead of just being a simple remake, a few elements of the game may be changed. And by elements I mean plot, not types.

Let's just say that the plot hasn't been fully developed yet, but a few diamonds are poking through the rough.

    • The game starts out in action rather than the usual Nintendo way of easing people in. Instead it starts out on a metroline, as the hero travels back home. While the train is making it's way, a certain team hijacks it to take the valuable Pokemon on board.
    • Shiny Pokemon play a great role in the game. Their obtainment is one of the primary goals of Team Rocket in Sparkling Silver.
    • A shining Mew may or may not be obtainable, and I'm leaning towards the more anti-climactic choice.
    • Trick House! Pokemon Shining Gold is an inspiration for this fun little side-quest, except I'm planning on doing one better; it'll be a Trick Mansion, owned by the Trick Meister (ooh la la!).
    • No cheap Master Balls. In fact, I'm thinking of removing them all together. Back in my day, we were lucky to even catch the Pokemans with a halved-egg shell! Consarnit!
    • Hopefuly day/night features... though it probably isn't possible, and will probably be excluded. Darn Nintendo and their choice of not putting in such a simple developer-side feature.
And that's pretty much how far in developement it is... in designing.

So far, the title, a few plots and sketches is what I have so far. Sadly, hacking experience nor skills are part of that roster.

I'm going to need help with this hack, primarily with everything. Basically I'll need a tutor as well, since I have not the slightest idea where to start.

    Here are the things I'll need help on;

    • Spriting
    • Mapping
    • Scripting (Probably can learn myself)
    • Tile/pallete changing
    • Creating custom splash screens/whatever thats called
    • Changing the ingame sprites (I know to use Unlz-GBA, but I can't seem to use it properly.
If interested, send an e-mail to [email protected]

I wish to help (Please don't say no cuz this is my 2nd post, I've done 2 many hacks 2 count). I can do spriting, mapping, changing in-game sprites (quite possibly, mayb not), and if you learn and tell me how you learned then (than??) I can help with scripting. Also, if someone can give me an a-text download that has comctl32.ocx and all the others than I can do that. I know how to use most of the hacking tools on whack a hack. I also have a few Ideas for it (if u want).

Edit: If you DL Pokéscript then (again: than??) this should help:

Good luck. I've always enjoyed playing G/S/C hacks, and you've managed to come up with some pretty interesting ideas.
