[Question] A room that fills up with water over time?

So I'm back and working on "The Song Mage Chronicles" after a summer long break, and I have an idea for the next arc in my game--the main villain's next lackey (who is causing trouble in the undersea realm wrongfully gets Arran thrown in the torture chamber, which is inspired by the short lived Fox game show "The Chamber" (only, Arran is just trying to survive--not trying to survive and play 20 Questions for money at the same time)

In addition to the room filling with water over time (the player has 7 minutes to either turn the chamber off or bail Arran out before he is completely submerged), he also has special crystals on him that squeeze his arms and legs, as well as wind and the chair he is strapped to shaking.

My question is, is it possible to do any of this in RPG Maker VX Ace, especially the room filling with water over time? (if Arran is completely submerged, it's Game Over)

You could simulate it by changing the map without fade, and having it go deeper and deeper everytime.

The room fills in seven stages:

Stage 1: Up to feet
Stage 2: Up to ankles
Stage 3: Up to knees
Stage 4: Up to lower torso
Stage 5: Up to chest
Stage 6: Up to head
Stage 7: Submerged completely--once the last minute passes, it's Game Over

Yeah. So create fogs that are like water. Get the player's position from variables. Transfer the player to different maps, or change the fog level.

The shaking I can achieve with the screen shake command

yes. So you use fogs. Are there fogs in RMVXA? I'm someone who uses Essentials. So RMXP is my piece of cake. But I have done some projects that never got completed in VXace.
