I personally would like to see a forum shop.
Where you get points for posts then you can spend the points on something e.g Name Change or certain powers for a limited time.

This is very successful on 2 forums i moderate, these are www.echostorms.net and https://acid.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=idx

Another suggestion is an Army system customised for pokemon like the one at https://acid.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=idx, but perhaps more like NetBattle.

It's been brought up before and it's not going to happen. There's just no point in it on PC, and even if there was, our server couldn't handle the stress. We have rules for name changes, and there's no way we'd just hand out powers to random people - we have a very stringent mod selection process.

From experience as a moderator and administrator at several areas, I really do not like the idea of points if they're linked to posting. One forum I particularly like had such a system for some time that required members to amass a certain amount of points to access certain features. This I dislike because I believe it takes away from the general resourcefulness of the site for anyone who just wants to gather evidence or research.

On top of that, awarding moderator powers when someone reaches a certain total undermines the fact that such powers belong with one whom they won't corrupt. You're likely to have a lot of people who will think of crafty ways to increase their total just to get a job. I think, though, a name change could work if the member is the one setting it, but that's my opinion.

i didnt mean they get to keep the powers swinub, they could use their points to do something a mod would be able to do for A Limited Time and this would be something like Sticky a thread of your choice or delete your own thread.

I wouldn't want people to be able to "buy" powers even for a limited time, mostly for the whole thing of anybody getting them, including the people who shouldn't have power of any sort.

Plus we already have enough of a problem at times with people posting merely for the sake of a higher postcount. No need to add even more incentive for them to do so.
