A Switch Pokemon Hacking question on behalf of my wife and daughter

    Good afternoon!

Backstory: I'm a long-time lurker in these forums as well as a Pokemon player since Gen1 (though I mostly tapped out after Gen4 due to adult responsibilities).

As a result, I'm beyond ecstatic that my wife and 6 year old daughter are having a blast playing Pokemon Let's Go Eevee. I know it's a game with a widely checkered reception among the Pokemon playerbase, but it's the perfect game for them both; my wife having never played a Pokemon game, and my daughter who's still young and learning to grasp the concepts of the series.

Most importantly, it's got Co-Op, which has been an unbelievable joy for them both as they're playing through the game together in the game's admittedly limited but still functional 2 player couch co-op.

The other day my wife says to me "you need to find another Co-Op Pokemon game" to which I had to tell her the unfortunate truth that they don't really exist unless someone hacks them in.

    Which brings me here.

As far as I can tell there does not exist any Pokemon hack of any kind that supports two player gameplay in the ways that LGPE do, which is understandable but, I feel, a massive missed opportunity. And it got me thinking if that kind of functionality could be hacked into the Switch games on even the most basic level of:

    1. Updating all trainer battles to Doubles
    2. Allowing a second player to control the second Pokemon in said Doubles

I'm sure this is a long shot and I won't be disappointed if the answer is "lol no that's crazy" but nevertheless I thought it would be worth asking at least. I've seen the incredible things this community has done with the older games and while switch hacking is in its relative infancy I've learned to not underestimate what people can accomplish.
