I've seen characters in Pokemon eat meat, but where does it come from? Do they slaughter Pokemon? Or is there really animals in the Pokemon world?

Well, they probably do slaughter Pokemon. Magikarp for fish, Miltank for beef... not sure what they use for pork. xD

Pokemon are the only animals they ever shown on Pokemon, I'm think. xD

I think there was one episode in the anime where normal fish where shown, not very clearly as it was a background thing...I could be wrong and it was an older one if I remember correctly.

Otherwise, yes I'm pretty sure they'd eat pokemon . Tauros would make better for meat. Miltank produce milk remember :P

Magikarp do not make for good eating as shown in one of the earliest episodes in the anime.

You'd think though, that if they have normal fish in the anime aswell as pokemon then surely they'd have normal cows and such roaming the fields, no?
Even though I hate to say it, but I agree that they must eat pokemon.

Yes, carnivorous pokemon eat pokemon, but it is not shown. Imagine what would children react.

For pork? Spoinks and Grumpigs, of course XD For duck: They would have some psyduck and golduck. For some tasty horse steaks (real thing) they would have some ponyta and rapidash. If they wanted to have some rabbid. Buneary and loppuny. ect... But man on some pokemons theres alot of meat XD Atleast you wont go to bed hungry

And I stopped watching the anime a long time ago
but I remember that they eat packed food. Or is that only for Pokemon?
and I saw them a few times cook something in a pot.
Also they eat Ramen and those Rice Balls. (I think it Sushi)

Personally, I think that it's processed meat created from natural ingredients. This is because Pokemon seems very futuristic in the animé so they can afford to have that kind of futuristic technology - although, it does happen now with tofu.

Also, this seems more to do with the animé than Pokemon in general so I'll move it to Pokemon TV Shows and Movies for you.
