If, per se, a member was to win the lottery, could they effectively buy PC? And how much would the asking price start at do you think?

I highly doubt that PC would ever be offered up for sale to anyone without a very very steep price, approval from not only the ENTIRE staff but a large number of supporters and members as well.

I cant speak officially, but I suspect all the requirements for purchase would be beyond reasonable and sane from a purely business perspective. (This theory is under the idea that EVERYONE has their 'price' at which they will allow something)

Legally, I'm not even certain if selling this site would be advisable...there could be companies just waiting like sharks for things like that to happen, so they can sue the snot out of whoever profits from the sale. >_>

    [PokeCommunity.com] A v. serious question

Why would anyone buy PC? No one would have any obligation to stay and I imagine that if things got ridiculous everyone would flee to another site.

Also, like Pachy, I don't see it happening.

They'd be really lucky for winning the lottery, not to mention they have to handle all of that technical stuff and the servers and everything. It's less likely for someone decide on buying PC instead of doing something else with the money. Or if the owner refuses to sell it.

I sensed Fox was here; 'v.'

Are you intending on buying PC? =3 I call dibs on being co-owner if you do.

But really, buying PC would be ridiculous. Unless you kept all the staff, all the same rules, most of the member base would leave. They like PC for what it is, if you made any drastic changes they would leave.

    EDIT:

And the website I checked said that PC would be $63, 675 USD. But, the real price could only be decided by the owners, hell, they could give it you for all they care.

I bet that if he staff was kicked and everything was changed, everyone would flee to Serebii\Smogon.
    Or at least, I would.

Instead of buying the site just donate $50,000 USD and be happy knowing that you helped out the site.
