Another deck that i've been wanting to build for a while now. Virizion Genesect with Abomasnow. The idea of Abomasnow hitting for 80 damage with confusion has always been such an interesting idea to me. Now that Fire types are actually a thing to worry about. It gives me actual reason to add Abomasnow in other than shenanigans. Either way, on to the deck list.

For those who dont know what abomasnow is, let me enlighten you.
Hp 120
Type: Water
Attack: (G)(G) 40 damage
Attack:(G)(G)(C) 80 damage, confuses both active pokemon.
Weakness: Metal
Retreat: (C)(C)
Special Notes: Immune to status effects with Virizion Ex. OHKO Pyroar with (G)(G) and muscle band or 2nd attack. Survives Pyroar's attack. OHKO M Charizard with (G)(G)(G) and Silver Bangle.


I have played it on the TCGO like 20ish times. It works pretty well. But im wondering if i should add in 1 colress machine just to skyla for. Also the addition of Pokemon Fan Club to my trainer list has been pretty huge. Turn 1 Pokemon Fan Club is pretty great when other cards can make use of the additional discard fodder and the ability to pull tech pokemon i need, and more than just 1 of them.

Anyone who has played a VirGen deck would like to give some sort of input would be nice. This is the first time i put one together, and im not too sure of the match ups.

I'll do more tomorrow but what about reg Charizard EX? It can OHKO Abamisnow and can be a large threat to Genesect.

Well the thing with that is Genesect and Abomasnow can OHKO charizard as well. Given the right circumstances. Be it G booster for Genesect, or Muscle Band for Abomasnow.

It really depends on how fast charizard can set up, because in theory charizard will OHKO most pokemon anyway with a muscle band. Same with a plasma deck and Lugia. The only difference is how many prizes my pokemon will give out.

Well it can set up as fast with DCE as Abomasnow but that Genesect is trouble with red signal it can switch charizard but float stones could stop that.

well either way. A deck is going to have at least 1 bad match up. Genesect isn't really that fast or that strong. But with red signal and G booster. It can handle most match ups pretty well as long as you play intelligently.

Its one of the few decks that dont completely fear Pyroar/Archeops without having to add tech.

So i edited my deck after picking up a few Roserade w/ Le Parfum on PTCGO.

It changed things so much that im actually finding this deck so consistent that its pretty scary. With just 2 Roserade, i was able to handle a Charizard/pyroar deck pretty well. Dont get me wrong that match up is still scary.

I can grab any card in my deck (assuming roselia is in play) with 9 cards(3 skyla, 2 level ball, 2 ultra ball, and 2 Roserades) in my deck. That doesn't include the copies of the cards themselves in the deck. Like if im going for a muscle band i have the 9 cards and 3 muscle bands, giving me 12 out of 60 cards or 20% chance of drawing into it, thats not even considering the cards that i went through already.

I think this deck is pretty interesting. Everything plays well off of the other. Genesect brings the hammer while Virizion keeps everyone safe and fed, and as you said, you have the ability to get exactly the cards you need with Roselia, Tropius, and your draw/search trainers. Abomasnow hits pretty hard despite taking minimal energy and poses a nice threat to the big-time Fire types.

I was surprised not to see any evosodas, but maybe you figure that you can already draw enough cards that they're not entirely needed? Pretty cool and original deck. Keep us updated on how well it competes.

This deck cant make use of evosoda. The Roselia has to evolve from hand not from deck to use its ability. So ultra ball or level ball is just better to find those.

Either way as of right now it does pretty well. I'm still learning how to play this deck properly. I feel like i might be rushing my searches for Roselia to gain a little early advantage, instead of saving it for just the right time for game winning plays.

I did a few more edits. I removed tropius atm. Mostly just for space. Though i do miss going second and Turn 1 Return, turn 2 Emerald Slash.

i added another energy switch, its just too good in this deck. Changed Bianca for a Shauna, though i might want Colress for another target for shadow Triad. Town map in place of 1 energy to get those prized pieces of Roserade and G booster.

Consistency is the name of the game for this deck.

Even if i start with lets say a Genesect Ex instead of Virizion Ex, i can still possibly get a turn 2 Emerald Slash. By drawing into a few select cards. Virizion Ex or Ultra Ball, Switch or Sky Arrow Bridge, Energy Switch and another energy. I may seem like a bit much, but its worth it to get that turn 2 Emerald Slash.
