    Marowak. Often reffered to as "the pokemon you do not want to get hit by"

    With the thich club attatched, marowak's base attack is at a ridiculus 160. That's surpassed only by two pokemon: ramparados and attack deoxys.

    Now, i'm going to ask, is it even worth it to EV train this thing in attack? Maybe spending the points in HP, defense, and spc. defense are a better idea. My question is : if marowak has an attack IV of 30, with no EV points, will his attack power still be superior?

    Consider this. Marowak with thick club attatched, trained in defense, HP, and spc defense get's a baton pass from ninjask after a few speed boosts, and if you're lucky, a substitute.

    Marowak will strike first against alot of pokemon, will likely 1HKO them, and then have defenses in case he doesn't.

    My main question is: Will marowak's attack still be high enough to be an effective sweeper with NO EV points in? (but a very high attack IV)

    Ok now this may sound noobish on my part but i don't know what EV points are, however, I can say that marowaks attack will be high no matter what you do. especially with a thick club. Thats All I would want for a sweeper. Make sure you teach him moves to cover his weaknesses. Teach him stone edge or something to that effect.

    Otherwise, I think it could be worth a shot, but pleanty of Pokemon can defeat Ninjask so you'd really have to think hard about it, because you'd need back up Pokemon to help the strategy... as far as I know the hold items only provide a 10% boost anyways.

    Oh and choice scarf will make it so Ninjask can be killed before it can even set up a substitute if used properly. Also, just about any Water type will be murdering Marowak, and depending on the move set, it might not be able to touch Ghost types... so it'd take more thought then just being lucky.

    thick club DOUBLES marowak's attack. IF marowak get's the BP right then the water types won't have a chance to strike, and will be long dead..

    I know that, I'm just saying the strategy is way flawed, if Choice Scarf is used correctly even the slowest Pokemon nearly can outrun Ninjask and 1HKO it.

    thick club DOUBLES marowak's attack.

    Thick club raise an cubone or marowak attack by 100%

    Which means it's doubled... -_-;

    Marowak is actually pretty good, but I'd recommend Atk EVs even with Thick Club attached. IF you'd Baton Pass to it, then just give Marowak a 252 Atk / Spd and 4 HP EV spread with an Adamant nature and then if you only Baton Pass an Agility or whatever boost Spd, that Marowak would be a serial killer, lol.

    The lack of knowledge of some of the ppl these days is staggering.. Marowak is a solid pokemon with thick club(which doubles its attack) and baton passing speed to marowak was a common strategy in 3rd gen. Even with the high attack it's better to give it some attack ev's than give it defense. Even if you max out its sp.defense, if it doesn't finish a milotic it's screwed if milotic uses STAB'ed surf on it. So obviously it's better to give it maximum attack for the OHKO.

    Actually marowaks base attack of 160 will be a perfect

    but marowak's poor defence makes it worthless to train in defence

    maybe special defence.

    That ninjask hing well it my strategy in nettbattle and so far i have not lost one battle so it will be something to try .
