Adding a New Alphabet to Pokemon Red Version

Hi All,

Looking for information regarding how I can change Pokemon Red's alphabet at a fundamental level. Say for example, I want to make a Hindi translation. Are there tools that would allow me to mod the alphabet such that I can use Hindi characters?

I have no idea if this is possible, and I've looked around and haven't seen any posts on this topic. I'm open to physically trying to draw the sprites for the characters if that's what it takes.
