Does anyone know how to get around the "Value .... is not a pointer!" error? I can't open some of my maps now because of it. The exact messages:

ERROR: (ENotAPointer) AdvanceMapError(5): Value $A8000000 is not a Pointer! Please contakt [email protected]

ERROR: (ENotAPointer) AdvanceMapError(5): Value $FF08E3D5 is not a Pointer! Please contakt [email protected]

Are you using Advance Map 1.92 or Advance Map 1.95?

1.95. But 1.92 doesn't allow me to open the maps either, flashing up an error with a different message. Something about a module issue.

Anyone have any ideas here? Not to be annoying but I can't make any progress on my hack until this is fixed. Trying to open the maps on 1.92 causes an error message to pop up no matter what I do afterward, to the point where I have to CTRL,ALT,DELETE to close it.

Sounds like you'll have to load up a backup of your ROM.
    ...you do make backups, right?

Another thing I'm interested in throwing out there: what base ROM are you using? and is your ROM expanded at all (e.g. 32.0 MB, 0x1FFFFF0)?

Luckily I saved my first backup yesterday. Unfortunately that meant one of my maps had to be redrawn, but at least everything is opening now. I'm still getting an error message on one certain city everytime. The map still opens but I can't add any connections to it with out it freaking out.

I'm using an Emerald ROM that isn't expanded.

Try to make A LOT of backups. Especially if you're going to do something major or risky. I have like 30 in one folder because I'm still a hacking noob learning by trial and error.
