Which pic? The one from Shiny May or the one in Red's sig? Either way, I like both pics even though I prefer the one in Red's sig.

Probably. Since Haruka has 5 Pokemon on her team now and needs 6 for the Grand Festival, Satoshi can let her borrow his Pikachu or whatever Pokemon he has to compete in the festival with a stronger team.

Anyway, I never have played Ruby or Sapphire and I think Emerald is already released. Like all Pokemon Contests, does a Pokemon need to do some sort of performance before the battle starts?

That's something new I've never heard before. May needing 6 pokemon to enter the Grand Festival. That's really something I've never heard before and I never heard it any rule that was in an episode. I only heard that May needs 5 ribbons, which she has

Also yes, before the actual contest battle is beginning, there is a performance part which is judges by three judges

No! Let me rephrase that. Haruka may need 6 Pokemon to compete in the Grand Festival. She could win with only 5 Pokemon on her team, but the maximum number of Pokemon one can have in his or her team is a better choice than one with less than 6 Pokemon.
