Advice On Selling A Collection?

I apologize if this is in the wrong place!

So like basically everyone, I collected Pokemon cards in the 90s and early 00s. I stopped when I was about sixteen. I've had this collection sitting in a box for ages, but now I am trying to declutter my life, so I want to sell them.

I have a friend pricing them for me right now, but I have a few cards worth 450 - 1000, though obviously they won't sell for that much. I have a few other interesting cards - first edition Pikachu, promo version of Articuno, first edition Girafarig, for example - but mostly just a lot of more common cards. My collection is around 250 cards.

As I'm brand new to the market, I'm trying to figure out the best way to sell this collection. Should I sell the high-priced items individually, and the cheaper cards as a set? Is Ebay the best market for this? I'm totally lost and could use some help! Thanks in advance!

I'm curious what your friend's source is on those cards, as they're probably not actually worth $450+ (few cards are) unless they're graded by a grading agency like PSA. Are they using eBay? If they're using eBay, they're probably using actual current auction listings rather than the "sold listings" option, which is a way better indicator of what a card would sell for on eBay.

High priced items are probably worth selling individually, especially with as few cards to sort through as you have, though it really depends on how much energy you want to expend listing them, especially since there's always the risk of a scamming buyer on eBay.

An alternative to eBay listing is to sell to somewhere like Troll and Toad. You might not get as much as on eBay, but you reduce your risks substantially as they're a legitimate buyer and seller. Their buy list is here: https://www.trollandtoad.com/buylist/#!/4
