4th Gen Advice/Tips for first EVER playthrough of Platinum

Well you could use online walkthroughs if you want.

I advice you to create a well balanced team (no more than two pokemon are weak to the same type) and have some HM slaves throughout the journey.
 
If you are underleveled you should grind while you are accompanied by other trainers like in eterna forest or on iron island, they'll heal you completely after every battle.

And Bidoof is the best HM slave ever.
