I think it was really good. Grotle's way of battling has to be way different than Turtwig's. Didn't know he weighed 10x more though lol. Ash totally fell apart because he thought that he could dodge and use his speed against anything. I knew Torterra felt an obligation to help but I didn't think he would help him really =/.

Turtwig + Speed = winz
Grotle + Speed = oops.... fail

- Ryou being owned by Shirona was easily my favorite part of the episode.

- Some more silence this episode.

- Repeat animation? [/facepalm]

- The animation is so bad. Hikari got it the worst though.

- Grotle's voice. :\

At least there was an evolution in the episode.

- This music is not as good as Soki ni Sora ga Aru Kara. PUSA, why didn't you keep an instrumental!? It was sad music from the moment Torterra came up until Gligar attacked, but PUSA put in loads of random music

The episode was ok. Team Rocket took a break and I just realized Grotle looks like some Dino-Digimon with shrubs on its back XD.

Just a nice moderate episode, no further comment beneeded.

Damn, Dawn's legs look super sexy on wide screen.

I'm almost positive that Grotle shares Turtwig's voice actor in the English dub. I'll look it up in a sec.

I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed in this episode like everyone was just waiting for an excuse to shout at Paul. Anyway, my ELoT:

- Aaron's gonna lose.
- That solar beam charged fast.
- I knew it...
- They were kinda being jerks to Paul.
- Lol excessive battle animations.
- And again....?
- Ash got pwned.
- Yay, Brock's being cool.
- Lol, Paul nailed in that argument.
- Come on....Turtwig vs. Torterra...
- DAMN IT!
- Overused dodge move alert!
- Aerial ace vs. Bite? ASH FAILS!
- EVOHAX!
- Lol, grotle has an INCREDIBLY annoying cry.
- Seriously ash, does Grotle look like a fast pokemon to you?
- It just...fell over?
- And again...?
- ASH GOT PWNED!
- See, Paul's a good trainer.
- "You didn't even budge one bit!" - that is, until he got thrown off his feet, right, Ash?
- Lol, Grotle got pwned by itself...eight times...
- Ash got pwned...and so did Dawn and Brock.
- "Rigid, like you, James!" SOMETHING got lost in the translation there.
- Gliscor got pwned.
- Grotle has to be the worst in the entire evolution line, by a long shot.
- TR's just...leaving? No motto, no stupid attempt at stealing pikachu, no blast off?
- Maybe he doesn't like you shouting at him for no reason, Dawn?

Awww. Torterra is sweet. i hate Grotle though. Its ugly, slow, and sounds annoying.

I find Grotle to be a lot more visually appealing than Turtwig, TBH. It does sound annoying...

And anyone who watches the Japanese anime knows that it found a way to deal with its low Speed. :)

I have to urge you all to watch this episode in japanese instead. It was A LOT better in that version. Grotle's voice, Honchkrow's voice, the vocal sad piece of bgm used uring Grotle's self training (ofc PUSa puts in some random shitty music)...

I gotta give this episode an A+. <3 Anyone here would know the main reason, but it's not just Shinji, it's also the whole Turtwig evolution line showed up! And Ryou had a small appearance in the beginning, too. I saw this episode in Japanese first, though. The English version was just a casuality. XP

This was a pretty good episode. I really didn't expect...uhhh...that Elite Four guy who battled Cynthia at the beginning, I forget his name for some reason, to win.

*GAAASTROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODOOOON!!!! Good lord, that was horrible!!!
*Hey, it's Paul.
*What's up with that look, Torterra?
*Finally that thing evolves!!
*It's slower. I knew it!!
*Nice, it's giving advice. What's Paul gonna say?
* "You're a curious one." What'd he say in Japanese?

Rating: 10/10!! Hopefully next week will be just as satisfying.

Grotle's voice isn't so bad. Its not great either but its bearable. Its hilarious how Grotle stresses the "tle" part making it sound like "groTULL" .

It wouldn't save us from the animation in the episode.

Whether the animation was good or not didn't really matter in that scene too much, there have been worse episodes. The dub music really kind of ruined the scene though, it used quite a few different pieces, whereas Japan just used Soko ni Sora ga Aru kara, it seemed more emotional.
