AIM installs Adware.

    When I installed AIM, I specifically told it not to install "WeatherBug", but yet, ironically, it did. When I used the net (Mozilla Firefox), I found myself staring at perscription medicine ads. I knew it was AIM because nothing like this had ever happened before and uninstalled it propmptly. I didn't see medicine ads anymore. I ran a adware-spyware search and I found an adware DLL from the "WeatherBug" service. I deleted the DLL manually. Then I uninstalled "WeatherBug" and I did not get anything else. I then cleansed my computer of AOL-related objects.
    Don't install AIM!
    It's not worth it!!!
     
    You must of gotten it from a diffrent source. www.aim.com, it only installs AIM, I use weatherbug also, and rioting about programs probably dose'nt go here.

    Well, I got it from www.aim.com and it installed "WeatherBug".

    Where do you think rioting about programs belongs?
    There has got to be some place to riot about IE and other MS-Crap.
     
    well did u disable ur anti virus or ur fire wall durning the installing?
     
    Why would I disable it?
    I am suspiscious of AOL anyways.

    mr_loonytik- Please refrain from using "gay" (even when spelt differently) as a slur or in any demeaning way. It's rather homophobic.

    Anyway, AIM majorly lacks in features and development. I wouldn't waste my time with it, but that's just me.

    Gaim doesn't have adware or spyware. It's just a instant messaging unit that's better than AIM.

    You probably thought he used "gaim" as a substitute for "gay", but he did not.
     
    I would also suggest Trillian, IMO it's a bit more efficient....XD

    kyogre-chan i didn;t use that word ;_; yea trillian is good all the extra's on the nes msn 7 XD and the emiticons have sounds(some of them) :O
