Alis Region-Dex

    For a potential Pokémon game based on the land down unda', I will be creating an entire set of sprites, and making alternate forms for Pokémon who will also exist there. I may scratch sprite some, but most will be splices. I think I go in enough depth that you can't really tell most of the time.

    For now, 1-9. I think the water starters third form will need to be redone, because I don't really like it, but I sitll want it to be the same thing (platypus based).

    001 - Koble (Grass, Koala Pokémon)
    002 - Lalable (Grass, Wallabe Pokémon)
    003 - Canable (Grass/Fighting, Treetop Pokémon)
    004 - Cyndaquil (Fire, Echidna Pokémon)
    005 - Spineva (Fire/Ground, Anteater Pokémon)
    006 - Pahui (Fire/Ground, Lava Flow Pokémon)
    007 - Ory (Water, Duck Billed Pokémon)
    008 - Rhychus (Water, Duck Billed Pokémon)
    009 - Radybeak (Water/Poison, Barb Pokémon)

    The Cyndaquil of the Alis region is of a different form than the Johto Cyndaquil. Cyndaquils caught in the Alis region can only evolve into Spineva, and Cyndaquils caught in Johto can only evolve into Quilava. Compare with Shellos.

    Comments? Suggestions? Ideas? Death threats?

    ...Erm, it would seem I can't post pictures until I have 15 posts? But I don't exactly want to spam to get there. Is there any way around this?

    You would be able to see it already if I didn't have to make 15 posts first...
     
    Well I suspect that's just to stop spamming of things from new members, but thanks. I fixed the final water evolution now, so I'll have to change it anyways.
     
    Αha I like the idea of multi region type pokemon. keep up the good work or you DIE. Nah kiddin but you did say death threats.

    Aside from the third water one, I'd like to see if you actually can. Try naming what sprite they're made of. :p

    You'll probably get the major framework, but I doubt you'll get them all. Anyways, the game will just have this set, so there won't be redundancy. I'll edit or use different sprites of other Pokémon.

    EDIT - Okay, just try the grass starters. I guess the rest are kinda lazy. I'm working on it though.

    I have definitely seen those Grass starter sprites before, and I have a vague memory of the Fire starters. Do you have an Aliases (Sp?)?

    Well, they're good, but the Water Final could use some touchup, the head is a little too large for the body.
     
    The grass ones: I love them. They're put together exellently, shaded nearly perfectly, and I love the concept.

    My only dislike is the... simplicity of Canable's body. I think having a different color stomach like it's previous evolutions would make it look less... awkward? That's not exactly the word I'm looking for, but something about the body seems off. The head is nice, though. ^__^

    The fire.. bothers me, kinda. I think it's the bits of black outlines. It's also... oddly shaded, so it looks unnatural. Spineva's back/tail fire seems like you used too much of that darker orange, and those red striipes on Pahui's tail look... odd. Also there's those two black pixels right above the base of the nose thing on Pahui that seem... unneeded.

    The water ones: Nice forms, but the shading on Ory is strange to me, unless the orange parts are meant to.... not reflect as much light as the blue parts... which would make them okay, I guess.

    I just noticed how the blue parts on the face of Ory have highlights and shadows, and the orange parts stay the same, and the same thing for the body of Radybeak. Even if it is supposed to be less shiny, maybe shade them a little, with a color thats only a little lighter than the orange.

    Um... is there a reason for those two brown pixels on Ory between the shades of orange, or that lighter pixel outside the outline on the head? Or those spots on Radybeak? They just seem oddly placed to me :\

    Anyway, they're nice sprites overall. Very creative. :D
     
    The shading doesn't work all that well. You need to reshade parts when you "fuse" them.
     
    I like the cydaquil idea and the grass starter line. Very creative.
