All good things must come to and end...

So yeah, it's hit cult favorite status. How about that?

Oh yeah, Deviru, I just played my NES a few nights ago in a bender. Best game system ever as far as I'm concerned. Hee.

Don't they have a Pok?mon Holiday at Japan, or something like that?

I always play some NES games at Animal Crossing. :P
Anyway, that is exactly what I was saying. Some people will still like even if it die. And meh. (I just didn't want to go much offtopic. >_>)

Pok?mon isn't going to "die" any more than Mario. Sure, not a fad anymore - hasn't been for quite a few years - but fat chance it's ever going to be forgotten.

True, I forgot about mario...

I also think Pokemon will become a classic and never fade out, though I doubt the cast will always be there. I bet one day they'll start all over again and reintroduce Pokemon with new characters that reflect the old one's personalities, either that or just change the cast but keep the characters.
I know Pokemon wont fade out because it would have by now.
And I must point out a quote in the past that is now hysterical.
It's Pokemon the First movie, it's probably the last one too XD
*Looks at the new seasons coming and the EIGHTH movie title* I wonder how the people who said those things are reacting now!

Ah yes, it will die. Sooner or later, it will.
Notice how some people are still fans of the NES, even though it is... well... old.
Pok?mon will die one day, even with some fans or not. If you neglect that, it's because you can't see new "fads" are coming.

Actually, your the one whose blinded here XD *dies*

You don't understand that when something is popular IT STAYS. Like Mario or Nintendo or something like that *dies again* Pokemon would be waaayy over by now if it wasn't for all them fans in Japan and such X3 Xbox was popular and look, Xbox360 XDD *brick'd* Even if Pokemon does get really crappy in the end, it will always stay as long as there are fans out there.

(cause we alll know that Nintendo only does it for teh moonuh XD)

Yes,if pokemon were to die out,I suppose it would've died out a long time ago.Yet,it still manages to stay popular and all.^^

Though,I guess it will fade eventually,everything fades,sooner or later.But I don't think everyone will forget about it,it won't die out completely.It'll go down as a....what you call?Classic.Yup.
Having so many fans, how could it die out just like that, and not even be remembered?o_O

And,yeah, who could forget Mario and Sonic??XD

Eh... Pokemon is, as many said, something that will be around for a long while to come, yet won't ever be as it once was. It's like the flagship character for 4Kids, who is quickly becoming quite the booming business. It has connections in the game, card, and toy industries still. It's also still quite popular amongst the kiddies. I saw a group of kindergarteners the other day in my Mom's classroom that were all pretending to be pokemon.

I think of it as Power Rangers. It will never be the same as it was, but it just keeps chugging along. o.o Like the Energizer bunny.

Sorry, but, Pok?mon is dead like Mario: Everyone who liked them still likes, Nintendo still gets money with them, but none are the fads they were before. You are the blind one here if you tell me Pok?mon, Mario, Sonic and etc still have the many fans they had before. I didn't say they were dead, I said they will, one and each day, become less popular than they are now. Not that Nintendo will stop selling Pok?mon games tomorrow, but some people here completely misunderstood what I meant. Peace.

As I said and Deviru says, there is a fine between niche popularity and insane popularity.

Of course in Pokemon's case, it was mismanaged by WB and somewhat Nintendo for milking it too fast. So I don't blame the product, I just blame the managers. Heh.

It will probably continue to lose popularity, but as long as it still has a fanbase and games are still being made it's really not "dead". I agree that it has a very good chance of becoming a classic like Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc. However, I think we should actually HOPE that they find a good time to stop making games. After we get about 700,000 Pokemon the games will grow old and it will be impossible to remember all the species. If they keep making games without adding the Pokemon, though, we'll more than likely begin to get bored with just the ones we have now. I love the concept of the Pokemon world, but I personally think that there are ways that they could have set up the games to prevent this repetition. At this rate, the games will eventually become exactly like the anime is now. However, I plan to stick to Pokemon at least until it completely falls apart ^^. And I'm actually happy that it's not insanely popular anymore; extremely popular things tend to get on my nerves.

This is kind of offtopic, but it certainly seems like Pokemon will outlive Digimon (if it hasn't already). It's still too early to say if it'll outlive YGO or not though.

as long as the creators can keep thinking up of new sets of 150 pokemon and new areas(but i'd say leave the characters, like ash, misty, and brock) and then keep making the games based off of those, then it can keep going forever. as long as there's new fans out there, they're always going to keep going. i mean, pokemon is a tv series, similar to other cartoons out there. it all comes down to the creator(s). I mean, being a fan of it since it first was created, i think all these new series and new 150 pokemon are kind of getting repetitive, but new fans won't think so until they experience it all.

this not right

the children can like newer anime but for example the series of tomb raider is game that started around 1995 and is continuing to make new adventures like the pokemon (i know that one thing that can be limited is the number of pokemon for the pok?dex )the newer pokemon games will need more pokemon than the 368 pokemon in the ruby or shappire;)
