[Other] All Pokemarts Are Connected? (Gen 3 Hacking Question)

Hey ya'll, just registered to ask of a question which has been baffling me. I've tried searching for answers elsewhere, but couldn't find any solutions. Hoping the community here can help me out a bit.

I started on a hack of Emerald about a week or two, haven't been able to get too much done due to a busy work schedule and parties which go on for far too long. However, in what time has been found, I've managed to get up to Rustboro city in my revisions, home of the Devon Company and the first gym of the game. Given the city's reputation of being something sort of spectacular and the HQ of Devon, who creates new Pokeballs as well as other technologies, I wanted to upgrade the town's Pokemart.

It wouldn't be something so extravagant, like a multi-floored convenience store as there is in Lilycove. What I want to do it change up the interior design of the mart, as well as add a door which would lead into a back section selling items like Proteins, Carbos, as well as some special Pokeballs you normally can't find too easily otherwise.

However, after I was done switching up the interior, I soon noticed that it also edited the interior of EVERY Pokemart in the game, save for Lilycove's tower. I don't want to abandon the idea of upgrading Rustboro's mart, as well as maybe switching up a few other marts, but I don't want every single one to be edited in the exact same way.

So, is there any way for me to edit the interior of only one Pokemart at a time? Adding a new warp to a separate room shouldn't be too hard, and isn't the current problem, and I'm sure I can just search for the answers with a Google search. However, I couldn't find the answers as to why every Mart is being edited anywhere, so I figured I'd ask the folks on this website. Any assistance and info you all can toss my way will be greatly appreciated.

Almost forgot to mention, I'm using Advanced Map 1.92. I've been told that .95 is pretty buggy and not as reliable, so I've just been playing it safe with the earlier version.

    To all,

    Smokey

You need to delink their map "ID"s. https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/318856 This document should help you out a little. Basically you need to change the 19th byte of the map header from 0A to something unused, like 26. You may still have to do some reinsertion of the maps to fully delink the though.

You guys get back to the poster pretty quick around here.

I can't seem to find where to change the last byte at. I've selected the mart in question, the one in Rustboro, using Advanced Map, but I can't find anything like what you've described. None of the tabs are giving me any sort of specific name like you mentioned. The most I can get is RUSTBORO CITY (11.7). If I go to the header tab when the map is already selected, all I get is RUSTBORO CITY twice for any sort of identification.

You have to go intro Professional View on the Header tab on the map, accessed via the Ctrl + H shortcut. Bear in mind the thread that I linked was for FireRed because I didn't realise you were talking about Emerald (sorry it seem I can't read). If I remember correctly, the 19th byte is still the correct one for you to edit, though it may not be to and from 07 and 26.
