Okay so about 3/4 of this month i've gone through so many ideas for this new Platinum meta and i just cant seem to stick with one. I would've went Sunny day but i cant Iv breed HP fire for anything so that's out, i tried trick room until i realized SD scizor doesn't care whose faster because of bullet punch, so out of everything that's going on now, i came up with this line-up, and i put ALOT of effort into make it seem like it would work so, any rates/fixes would greatly be appreciated =)
Smeargle@Focus Sash
Jolly
Own Tempo
252 Def/ 252 Spe/ 4 Hp
Spikes
Taunt
Stealth Rock
Spore
The spiker lead smeargle, this catches alot of teams off-gaurd with all of the usual bulky leads being played now. My team appreciates the entry hazards ALOT so, i spore it up and set up.
Metagross@Life Orb
Naughty
252 Atk/ 132 Spe/ 124 Sp.A
Grass Knot
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Thunderpunch/Shadow Ball/ heck even Pursuit
first sweeper i have is my Mixed metagross, what i want from him is to lure out pokes such as hippowdon and swampert who would otherwise cause my team trouble and net those surpise OHKOs, because with mixed metagross, the surprise factor with those OHKOs makes it too late for the opponent to recover for the late game for their lost pokes. Im not really sure what to run either thunderpunch or shadowball, thunderpunch hits skarmory so it doesn't wall me and it also hits suicune for alot but shadow ball hits ghosts, pursuit is just a random thought so...
Dusknoir@Leftovers
Impish
252 Hp/ 232 Def/ 24 Atk
Will-O-Wisp
Rest
Shadow Sneak
Earthquake
My spin blocker to make sure smeargles' efforts dont go to waste. Interesting enough he has rest instead of pain split, but that is because i have a heal beller combination i'd like to use with it, making dusknoir an even more effective tank/wall then he already is. I dont think anything really resists ghost/ ground, EQ is for the annoying heatran (also making heatrans explosion nullified thanks to ghost typing) and some metagross, and shadow sneak for the priority and to hit things such as azelf, starmie for alot.
Dragonite@Leftovers
Calm
248 Hp/ 216 Sp.D/ 48 Spe
Heal Bell
Flamethrower
Thunderwave
Roost
My main support to balance this team out. If one of my sweepers gets crippled by a paralyze, they can get that second wind with heal bell. When dusknoir puts himself to sleep to recover his hp after taking hits like a beast, he'll be awake to wall even more thanks to heal bell. Calm nature for Flamethrower, for a scizor switch in check, and thunderwave cripples pokes who think they can set up/kill dragonite such as salamence, heatran, especially the ladder as dragonite himself can switch in on heatran on it's typical attacks (Fire Blast and Earth power) with ease and heal my party up, as well as even itself, noting the fact dragonite can even PP stall heatran if it comes down to it, as dragonite doesn't even fear burn thanks to heal bell.
Starmie@Leftovers
Natural Cure
Timid
136 Hp/ 156 Def/ 216 Spe
Surf
Thunderbolt
Rapid Spin
Recover/Ice Beam
My rapid spinner and main pursuit bait. Why do i say it's a good thing it's pursuit bait? Becuase of the below pokemon TBH...Starmie rids my team of the annoying hazards that plague it, and has the defenses to back it up. I dont know whether to run recover or ice beam, basically if i need to really kill a salamence, i can run ice beam i guess, but starmie will miss the survivability recover offers.
Lucario@Life Orb
Adamant
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Def
Inner Focus
Swords Dance
Extremespeed
Close Combat
Crunch
Oh yes, it is deffinately Swords Dance Lucario, my main late game sweeper. Whatever gets locked into pursuit from trying to/killing starmie, lucario comes in and goes to work. Usually if the opponent lacks an answer or if his answers are crippled by thunderwave or others, lucario is probably going to sweep. Crunch provides me with coverage against ghosts whom lucario doesnt like having his other two attacks resisted by, and it hits things like celebi pretty hard.
So with all these pokes i've listed here, i think it makes for a pretty good team. However, i still have many weaknesses, i dont really have any come to mind because im really really tired of working on this post for a while(lol) but i really need to have a team slate for what i am going to play on Wifi because i really cannot get used to what's new with platinum, so much has changed from regular D/P it's crazy. Anyway, if you take the time to read everything and rate, i'd gladly appreciate it =)
