Do to them:
1. Destroy!!
2. Ask to be friends
3. Battle them and make them sorry they ever said that
4. You're not nice at all
5. something else

If I saw any trainer (if they can call themselves that) mistreating a pokemon, I'd have one of my pokemon blast the crap outta them. Preferably my Claydol's Hyper Beam or Tropius's Solarbeam.
Much like when Drake had his Salamence use Dragon Claw on Team Rocket after they attemt to steal Pikachu.
