May I ask if you intended the title to mean "The other Friend Himself"? The Latin title was what attracted me in the first place.

((OOC: I have no clue what Percy Jackson is... Alter Ipse Amicus is roughly translated as... A friend is an alternate self. Yeah, we have several very feminine guys in this roleplay. I am waiting to see if we can maybe get a little bit more sterotypical boy character... but anyways I have decided that I will have no time to write tomorrow so this will have to do. Let the roleplay begin...))

    Headlights on Dark Roads

Life is not always fair. That is what Katherine's mother used to always say. Now those words seemed to ring with a new chorus of truth. How could such responsibility rest on the shoulders of a few kids? It wasn't just, nor was it fair. It was reality. There was no escaping the harsh life that Katherine and the others would have to endure. Only one thing would be for certain. These teenagers would either succeed and save the world from an entropic destruction or they would fail and face harsh consequences. Even though this climax would most likely take place years later it seemed like it loomed just around the corner. How was one supposed to conduct themselves with the weight of the world resting on their shoulders on a consistent basis? These questions illuminated themselves over and over through Katherine's brain.

"All this chaos… this mess because of a few men's transgressions," Katherine turned to her Totodile who bore a very serious grin on its face. He was the more serious one of the two pokémon. Vulpix, who currently resided in its pokeball, was Katherine's comforter. Countless nights Katherine had cried herself to sleep with Vulpix in her grasp. The pair, pokémon and master, began there journey to New Bark Town on a ferry. This transportation vessel had started from the docs on Route 32. It was not a long trip but there was no one but Katherine's pokémon to keep her company. There were other trainers on the ship but whether they were Al'cia or just normal people was beyond the girl. Either way Katherine was not the type to try and talk to new people, nor did she feel like having a chat at the moment. She sat herself on a red, cold bench. Totodile followed suit.

The teenager would have given anything to go back to the days in which she perceived herself as normal. The days where there was no responsibility and the weeks of doing homework was the only existent stress. There was no way to put into words how much she envied normal trainers. The freedom they possessed. Katherine missed the beauty of the world. Ever since her conversation with Master Shunsuke, head of the Tin Tower, she had lost the luxury of happiness. The once colorful world seemed black and white. Nothing really mattered any more. Her life and everyone else who was an Al'cia was already planned out for them. There was no way to avoid her date with destiny. At least that's what he said.

    Flashback

The room turned silent and stale almost instantly. Katherine's leg remained revealed, isolating her bizarre birthmark. The head of the tower sat there and stared. Kristina, Katherine's mother, awaited the diagnosis. "If you two will excuse me for a moment," the words echoed through the room filled with unrelenting anticipation. The short, bald monk walked out of the room. The small family sat there subdued and excited. They might finally have an answer to the mystery. It was as if a detective had cracked a case and had the proof to accuse a murderer. Katherine might even be able to find a cure to her problem. The man came back after a few minutes.

"Well?" Kristina had waited sixteen years for this conversation. However, she had once believed it would have happen in a medical institution rather then a temple.

"I am not quite sure how to put this…" the man procrastinated a bit. Both mother and daughter locked eyes with each other. A joyous occasion transformed to fear. "What your daugh… what Katherine has on her leg... It is the mark of Ho-oh," he layed down an ancient scroll. There on the page was the same exact hieroglyphic that made its home on Katherine's leg.

"So… what does the mean?" The worried mother blurted out instinctively. Katherine, stunned, but enamored by the possibilities sat quiet in the corner.

"Well. I believe you are completely aware of the increase of 'legendary' sitings on the news." The two women nodded their heads. "There is a legend that has been around since the first form of writing was developed. It states that these pokémon are to judge mankind. It also shares that they will, at one time, judge all of mankind based on only a few men. This judgment, if you will, is predicted to be catastrophic. They will be blinded with anger."

"What does this have to do with the mark?" Kristina impatiently interrupted the man.

"It has everything to do with the mark. Ten years ago Team Galactic tried to create a new earth. I believe this may have angered these pokémon. Anyways, the legend continues stating that there will be humans born with pure hearts. These humans will bare the mark of each legendary. These people are called Al'ci. Their marks are known as the Fal'cia." The man's voice was solemn. He didn't enjoy bearing such harsh news.

"Being a Al'ci what does that mean?" Katherine could no longer remain silent.

"I was getting there… this same legend states that the Al'ci are the only ones that can stop these pokémon from destroying life as we know it. We do not know how they are to complete such a mission… but we know they are the only ones who can halt such an unrighteous attack on humans." He could no longer look the mother in the eyes. Kristina was now crying. Katherine was stunned; her insides seemed to have dried up.

"Your mark, your Fal'cia, connects you to your legendary. You happen to be connected to Ho-oh. Your symptoms of migraines and waking up sorely only reaffirm such a hypothesis." The couple and monk continued talking for what seemed like hours. "The majority of Al'ci have been found. There is a plan to have them journey around Johto and train a pokémon team capable of taking down such a formidable foe. That is if it comes to that. I am sorry that I must bare such stunning conclusions but Katherine…" he looked directly into the teen's amber eyes. "You have a duty to this earth above all else. You must not shun such a responsibility."

"She has no responsibility! She is a kid! A KID! How can a child bare such a burden! This is all absurd! We all know legendary pokémon are all BUT real!" Kristina grabbed her precious child and rushed out of the temple in a tremendous fury.

    End of Flashback

The ship came to a stop. They were finally in New Bark Town. Katherine followed a few trainers off the ferry and took a giant breath. Releasing the influx of air through her nose, she searched the town for the other Al'ci. There was large group of men in the middle of the town but none of them were the right age. However, with no better option she continued to them. "Yeah that was a great game. They really didn't deserve to lose three nothing though…" That was obviously not the right group of people. The girl dodged around them and surveyed the city a second time.

For the first time since the realization of her true self, Katherine was excited. She was finally going to start her journey. This was the day many kids had dreamed of; Katherine was not going to let Ho-oh ruin it. Glancing around the quant little place she noticed another group of people. In it was her mentor.

"Katherine! How very nice to see you again! You are the first to arrive." Mr. Shunsuke greeted the girl with a huge embrace. She half-heartedly returned the motion. He shouldn't have been too surprised. He had checked up on her every week after her discovery. The girl looked around and he was right. There was no one even close to the age of her. They all seemed to be reaching the later stages of their lives. A little while after Katherine's arrival a few other Al'ci made appearances. It didn't appear that the girl would be starting her journey for another hour or two. She assumed there would be some kind of introduction and instructional speech but it didn't seem like it would start in a timely manor. It looked as though she might have to interact with total strangers. Hopefully someone would come to her. There was no way she was initiating anything.

    Name: Alex Steele
    Gender: Male
    Age: 20
    Appearance:

Wears a black or grey beanie hat a lot of the time, underneath would be thick but short black hair. He is slightly tanned and has brown eyes, normal proportionate face. He has a small soul patch under his bottom lip which is always neat and trim.

He would often be seen wearing a white long sleve t-shirt with a black zip-top hoodie with a Pokéball emblem on the hood and breast of the jacket. The zipper would also be a round, flat metalic Pokéball emblem.

Usually he would wear a black or khaki green nylon belt that has small little hoops for attaching Pokéballs, and has the outline of an Onyx engraved on the buckle, which would be a similar style to a skater style belt. Usually wears jeans when out and about, most often blue denim or else black or grey combat trousers. His shoes would be generic skate style shoes - he isn't a skater himself just enjoys the comfort of the clothing. Around one wrist he would have a bandana tied off and a digital watch on the other.

Alex wears no jewlery except for a necklace around his neck which has a precious gem inside a small rock, looks quite rare and would be recognized as a Moon Stone Fragment by anyone who would be qualified to recognize it (given to him by his mother before she died as a gift from his father who died before he was born).

    Personality:

A very observant guy, Alex will take time to observe a situation he is presented with before acting. Although he can often be caught by his emotions when his family would come into things causing him to act impulsively. He can be quite analytical and can size up a person or Pokémon, often quite accuratly, within seconds of encountering them, although he has been wrong, he still will act on his gut feelings, allowing his subconcious to do the decision making while his concious mind assess the situation.

He has a dry sense of humor and can be seen as quite cynical for a young man. He will be found laughing to himself sometimes in random periods, or even laughing in the face of a danger...quite literely, he finds the funny side to life. On a deeper level I guess he feels free, and if asked why, he would probably retort with

''Because you are only really free in life, when you have nothing left to loose",

which would be a reference to loosing his parents.

He is an emotional wall when it comes to relationships and keeps his friend-base small. Loosing loved ones is not something he wants to do to regularly - and bonding with others on more than a superficial level is an important but difficult factor for Alex.

He uses his intellegence as a defense when ever its needed and while he is quite bright and logical in thought, when it comes to academics he shows no apparent interest in the ''basic baby crap'' and would be more interested to learn and read about advanced materials, regardless if he fully understands it.

He keeps his Poké-Party small for the pure reason - his line of thought would be

"I'd rather train three Pokémon to peak performance and build a strong rapport with them than train a dozen Pokémon to acceptable levels and see them merely as 'friends' "

    History:

Born to a local shop owner and his wife in Olivine City, he was born with a strange birthmark on the side of his neck. It was always strange and looked artificial, like a tatoo. Alex's father had passed away before he was born due to illness. His mother raised him alone and they built a strong bond together. They were Mother and Son and Bestfriends! Growing up in Olivine was enjoyable for Alex as he got to see all the trainers passing through to battle for their badges. He was facinated with Pokémon from a young age. Their ability to do what they do always intrigued him. He read book after book about the Biology and Study of Pokémon Science.

His mother ran the local Pokémart, taking over after the death of her husband. This gave Alex even more exposure to Pokémon as Trainers often passed through to pick up supplied. From a young age he had a wide range of knowledge on Pokémon species and abilites and could spout of various bits of trivia about a multitude of Pokémon.

When Alex turned 10, the year he should have started training to become a Pokémon Master, his mother fell ill. He spent less days in school and more time covering shifts in the Mart along with the help of some of the Locals who in turn helped keep the Mart running. As he got older he spent more time in the shop and less time studying in school. His dream had started to die silently in the recesses of his mind. His mother was all he had left and he wanted to take care of her.

For the next four years, he woke up, went to work for the morning, and then did class in the afternoon before returning to the shop to work for the evening. He would then return home to care for his mother and rest.

Then several days before his 16th birthday, his mother's illness had declined rapidly and she had passed away due to unknown causes. Doctors couldn't determine what had caused her to fall ill - nor what had caused the rapid decline. This affected him so badly he gave up school
all together, shutting out the idea of becoming a Pokémon Researcher and letting his dream die along with his mother.

The years dragged on and while he recovered from his loss, he became over come with a sense of duty toward his family. Close to his 19th Birthday, a close family friend urged him to sell the shop and to start living his life. That he should be out there doing what he loved and not let his life become overwhelmed with work and responsibility.

After months of thinking about it, he settled on starting his journey to become the worlds greatest researcher and to live upto his Father's Legacy for decoding the Pokémon's base genome. But to do that he had to understand Pokémon on more than just a scientific level. He was given the gift of his first Pokémon, Charmander by the Town's Gym Leader as a token of the start of his journey and as a sign of gratitude for doing so much to keep the local mart running and providing trainers and the gyms with supplies over the years to keep things moving.

But Alex tried to start his journey he fell at the first hurdle. The Gym Leader in the first town had defeated him. While in the the town, he recieved quite strange looks and reactions from the locals as the mark on his neck seemed eerie and felt a strange energy coming from Alex. Over all there was just an unsettling reaction to his presence.

He decided to return to Olivine City and go back to working in the shop. He spent months researching about his birthmark and about its meaning. Reading about symbolisim and ancient cultures he came across a short article written about a Legendary Pokémon named Dialga. It was the Pokémon of Time and the birthmark on Alex's neck looked strangely similar to the one linked with Dialga...

Soon after he came across a website that discussed the rumors of the
Al'ci. They were a supposed group of Trainers who were fate-bound and spiritually linked to a Legendary Pokémon. There wasn't much information - but a few more hours of research led him to know he had to go to Alamos City if he wanted to know more about Dialga the Time Pokémon, and discover the meaning of his Birthmark..

Traits: Observant, Cocky, Arrogant, Funny, Friendly, Kind, Caring, Generous, Intelligent

RP Sample: I'm new to online RP'ing so I will just write a sample of my above character?

Alex sat at the side of the lake, very still and for hours not moving. This was one of his favorite past times in the evening. He would look out over the water, studying the Pokémon's behavior, writing down observations and notes, sketching small doodles and enjoying the weather. His friend Jane would often accompany him to the lake to chat and just hang out. Although she never really understood his major obsession with in depth analysis with Pokémon, she was always so impressed at his ability to deduct the mood and personality traits as well as gender and approximate age of the Pokémon.

Ever so often two small eyes would pop out of the water, and pop back down as soon as Alex looked. It took months for Alex to realize what Pokémon it was, every few weeks it would return, coming closer and closer before chickening out and scurrying away leaving a froth of bubbles behind it. One Evening Alex brought some Pokétreats and teased the mysterious Pokémon to come closer. Finanly it had built up the courage to come close enough and in a flash, its claw shot out of the water, grabbing the treat before it resubmerged. Krabby!! It was a Krabby all this time.

After some time the two had built up a bond, although he never tried capturing it, he would just come back each evening to sit and watch the lake and its inhabitants. Krabby would often come back to keep him company when Jane wasn't around, Blowing small bubbles, Alex and Krabby would sit there playing with and popping the bubbles, laughing and joking around.

The house was silent, save for the murmur of the television, volume turned down low. Darin and Fyora Roschel listened to the news reports solemnly with their respective partners in their laps. Nestled between the stories of murders, burglaries, and arson was a testimonial of a woman in Mossdeep, Hoenn, who claimed that she had seen the legendary duo whom the twins were supposed to be connected to. They shared a glance filled with a cacophony of emotion, most prominently masked fear. It seemed that every day Latios and Latias were rumored to be closer to Johto. Logic dictated that if they were truly as all powerful as legends were meant to be, they could go wherever they wanted and they would without a discernable reason. But they knew there was more to it.

While the sun rose outside, life in the house began to stir. Korbin was the first to awaken. The eldest brother emerged from his room well groomed, as though he had not just rolled out of bed, as was his custom. Trailing behind him was a groggy Helena, her black fur ruffled and messy. The little Sneasel had never been much like her master, but she adored him nonetheless.

He came into the living room and sat down in the chair next to the couch the younger siblings occupied. Fyora acknowledged him first with a quiet "Good morning" and a valiant attempt not to let him see how frightened she was. She could stand to let the wall down in front of Darin; she knew he felt the same way, and she had never looked up to him quite the same way she did Korbin. But Korbin knew her, and Darin, too well not to see the truth.

Despite Korbin's entrance the silence remained, almost suffocating in its thickness. It was difficult to know what to say, on the day that the two youngest members of the Roschel family would be leaving home even before any of the others had gone. It was unfair and wrong, that they should have such a heavy burden placed on their shoulders so young, Korbin thought. But there was nothing to be done. If they shirked their responsibility the world would pay the price.

Over the next hour and a half few words were said, but plenty was expressed. Korbin and Esthin helped Fyora and Darin respectively make sure that everything they would need was packed into light bags, each in the messenger style. During that time Darin and Esthin managed to get into another one of their fights. To an outsider it may seem that they should be perpetually separated, but it was their method of awkward affection.

Tearful goodbyes were not the Roschel family way, but there was sniffling and rapid blinking as the last minutes before the twins needed to be on the train ticked away. Even Xane and Jack, Darin's Growlithe and Fyora's Snorunt, seemed affected by the tangible sadness. But prolonging their departure would only exacerbate the pain, so the twins and their partners boarded the train before they lost their resolve.

Several hours and three hundred miles later, the train pulled into New Bark Station. The very same man who had contacted them to begin with stood waiting on the platform. With a deep breath, the two stepped onto the hard concrete with their partners in their arms and their bags over their shoulders. The man recognized them instantly.

"Ah, good afternoon," he said with an air of dignified enthusiasm. "If you'll recall, my name is Horatio. If you'll follow me I shall escort you to the place where the other Al'ci are meeting."

Silently Darin and Fyora trailed behind Horatio as he led him to the others who had been given Fal'cia at birth. On several occasions he made an attempt at conversation, but neither of them felt loquacious. Eventually he gave up, and instead led them in quiet.

In due time they came to a group of people, all of whom radiated an aura of authority. Next to them was a girl who didn't look to be any older than they were.

"Al'ci?" Darin voiced curiously. Fyora shrugged in response, too preoccupied with a wriggling Jack. Exasperated by the Snorunt's restlessness she set him down with a warning not to stray. Xane hopped down after him, wagging his fluffy tail happily. He ran in several circles, nearly tripping his master, yapping all the while. Horatio motioned toward the only other young person who had arrived thus far. "You ought to get to know each other. You may have to work together, so it's better to be on a first name basis."

Darin thought, but did not say, that unless you were old, most people started out on a first name basis. Always having been the most social of the two, he inched toward the strange girl, smiling shyly. "Hi. I'm Darin, this is Fyora, and that's Xane and Jack." Just as sunny as his master, Xane yapped and tilted his head at the new girl. New people were his favorite, and he liked their new Pokemon even better. This new person, had one, he was thrilled to discover. His expression somewhat vacuous, he approached the little blue alligator with the air of a puppy who had found a new friend.

    POST 1

"Final boarding call, to train 19438. Final boarding call for train 19438." A tinny voice called over the speakers.

Thomas was very nervous about this trip, ever since he found out he was...special. His Mother had bags under her eyes, and looked like she was scared. His father, on the other hand, was one of those people where you couldn't quite tell what he was thinking. Tom was worried he was mad, or maybe just confused. Tom felt confused.

    Flashback

"Um... Ms. Mamoru, I suggest you stay here with your son." Dr. Xavier said. He walked out of the room frantically, searching for his Cell Phone.

"Wow! I love the aquarium here!" Tom said, eyeballing the large aquarium implanted into the wall. A small group of Luvdisc swam around in circles.

"I bet they have awkward Valentines days! 'Will you be my Valentine- no wait you already are.'" He joked to himself. His optimism was not helping his Mom, who was afraid he had Cancer. That's Rachel Mamoru for you, who always had the worst case scenario. Dr. Xavier ran back in with his laptop and unfolded it onto the desk. A Skype screen came up, and showed an old man. What was odd was that you could tell this man was very aged, but he had no wrinkles. His eyes were squinted, and his face was tanned.

"Hello. Is this him Xavier-Sensei?" The man asked.

"Uh, yes sir. You told me to look out for the features, correct? Well here it is." The doctor said meekly. He grabbed Tom's left hand to the screen, showing the elderly man the symbol imprinted on it. The man gasped and almost fell over, calling others to the screen and pointing his shaking hand to it. He ranted in some ancient foreign language.

"Uh, what's going on?" Tom asked "I thought we were just checking on my epilepsy."

"Um, Monk Li can explain." The doctor said nervously. He motioned the Monk to talk, which he did after clearing his throat.

"Uh... what it your name child?"

    "Thomas Mamoru."

"Well Thomas-Kun, I have something to show you."

He pulled out a large dusty book out from under his desk.

"You have a special ability, Thomas-kun. You see, it was foretold eons ago by my ancestors, that the world would be in chaos. The legendary Pokemon of this world, Ho-oh, Lugia, Rayquaza, Arceus, all came together and agreed that there should be somebody stopping the chaotic fiends of the world. Team Rocket comes to mind. Anyhow, they decided that they would send down humans to the Earth, who were supposed to vanquish off the evil forces. These humans would be called 'Al'ci' and they would have a mark of a legendary. If they failed however, the Legends would destroy the old earth, letting nobody survive."

Tom gulped. This seemed a bit odd to be telling him, after all these Pokemon are just Myths. Although it would be nice to meet one one day. Wait...

"You're not telling me that I'm the... But I'm..."

    "You are an Al'ci."

His mind was blown. This wasn't possible, he was just... him! There was no way in hell that he could be the savior of the world! A long silence held in the room.

"That marking on your arm is a marking of a legendary. It is called a Fal'cia. You are the human personification of a specific legendary, and I'm afraid to say whom."

"I THINK I DESERVE TO KNOW AT THIS POINT!!"

"Mew. Considered to be one of the most powerful and pure Pokemon to be brought into existence."

"I... It's just not possible, it's simply NOT POSSIBLE!!"

"I'm sorry but it is. You need to come see me in Violet City. Do not worry Mother of Thomas-kun, all expenses will be paid. I wish I could say more, but it's simply..."

"I'M TELLING YOU THIS ISN'T POSSIBLE!! THIS ISN'T.... AAAUUUGHH!!!"

"Tom are you all right?" His mother asked "You aren't usually this angry."

Tom yelled and then his Fal'cia started to glow a light blue, before sparks started coming out of it. He literally had never become this angry before. After, looking back it was all a blur. Suddenly, during all of the commotion, he fell on the floor. No spasmic jerks, he simply fell to the floor. He was just so angry, that he wore himself out.

Monk Li explained the rest to his mother while Tom was taken to the clinic.

    End of Flashback

"Well, that's your train." His father said.

"Yeah... I guess you're right." Thomas said with a slight bit of apathy in his voice. He then rolled his suitcase into the crowd. His mother, who's face was red from crying, followed him. They boarded onto the metal train heading for Johto, and wondered what was going to happen.

    Mistake

    Age: 16

    Gender: Male

    Legendary: Celebi

Appearance: Shear is about 6"2 and has very fair skin with some freckles on his cheeks and arms but mostly clear, he has short blonde hair with a slight cowlick at the nexus, his eyes are jade green and his pupils have enormous depth, he has a smaller than average torso but very long legs, he usually wears a white hoodie and green shorts with regular socks and black white and red tennis shoes, he has black leather gloves he keeps with him for whenever he needs to do somethig like mountain climbing etc.. He also wears a pendant with a picture of the Ilex Forest shrine, his mother said that it's great power would be revealed one day and that it could only be used once, but she wouldn't tell him what for. Shear is very physically fit because of all the work he has done in the forest with his parents, although he is still very thin despite his musculature.

Shear's Fal'Cia is right above his waist on the right side of his spine, it is shaped like a small musical note to represent Celebi's personality and job of keeping harmony in the areas it guards and is always changing colors, looking almost like it's just a note shaped hole in the floor of a plane flying over infinite side by side rainbows.

Personality: Shear takes extreme joy in everything he does and appreciates life to the last particle, he always assumed these were the reasons all pokemon seemed to inherently like him, although he is such a happy person, he is outwardly quiet and akward with other people, especially girls, he spends most of his time either walking through the forest with his pokemon, or fishing, he is also always willing to help anyone he knows, although he has a hard time getting to know people in the first place. Although he is anything but feminine Shear is not macho, although the years of work in the forest have effected his physicality well. Because of how easily embarassed he is Shear is constantly annoying himself by thinking about how good looking or not every girl he sees is, because of this trait he trys very hard to only judge people based on their personalities, this all just adds to his akwardness around girls, which is obvious in how well he usually gets along with other guys.

When joking around or around people he is not comfortable with he tends to act a little macho and cocky, but deep down, even though he loves the world around him so much he doesen't believe in himself much, the people who know him well and care often cheer him up since they are the only ones who notice. Shear occasionally just doesen't feel like talking no matter where he is or who he is around, often causing people who don't really know him that well to come up to him and ask him if he is sad or depressed, he trys to be nice about it but it really gets on his nerves. Due to Celebi being Shear's legendary instead of Dialga he's not connected to time travel so much as he is, empathetic, he doesen't read emotions, he just feels them whether he wants to or not, causing the emotions of other people to hurt him worse and much more often than Celebi's emotions, mainly because Celebi is pretty much always happy. When things such as wars happen, they cause worse pain for Shear than anything else in the world, once when he was still little he almsot died because for the very same reason.

History: Shear was born in a small woody area near Ecruteak city, he has spent most of his time there since he was born, he rarely goes past Ecruteak unless on an errand for someone, his mother and father always took good care of him, his mother made baked goods while his father gardened and farmed, although they only had a couple of Miltanks, it made enough money to keep them going.

Once while out looking for berries to feed the Miltanks Shear found a whole pile of them, when he went to take one, a Munchlax jumped out of a tree and tackled Shear, it grabbed a berry and ate it, showing they were his, but when it saw how sad Shear was, it shared a berry with him, the event started theeir friendship, they only grew closer until Munchlax agreed to let Shear catch it, he did and nicknamed it Lax, a short and simple name for a short and simple pokemon.

Shear met his Dratini one day when he was playing near the lake with some small pokemon, while trying to catch a Sentret he fell in, he couldn't swim, the next thing he knew he was coughing and sputtering water onto the sand and Dratini was curled around him to keep him warm and squeeze out the water

One night, while sleeping, Shear had a strange dream, he was in Ilex Forest, although he had no idea sicne he had never seen it before. He walked through the area, looking for woodland pokemon, since it looked like a place that would be full of it, but it was all quiet and empty. Finally, he reached a small shrine that looked like it hadn't been touched in many years, a bright light came from it, and when he looked at it Shear had many visions all at the same time, But in all of the visions there was one persisting figure, a small green flying creature watching all the events and people with interest, interacting with certain people and generally having a good time, and in another one the small happy creature from earlier was swirling through the air and around trees with another, pink creature, they looked like they were dancing. But despite the other, mostly happy visions there was one that made less sense than any other, in it the small green creature from earlier was lying on the ground in front of the ilex forest shrine, all the happiness the creature had before was gone and it was no longer glowing, the scene was so painfully depressing that for a moment Shear actually wished he was dead.

Shear's parents saw how much he was tossing and turning in his sleep, and a strange mark on his back slightly to the left of his spine and right above his waist, they were worried about him so they called a local doctor, the man knew much about lore, so as soon as he found the mark he told Shear's parents he'd be fine and promptly left. Soon after leaving, the doctor went to the monks at the tin tower, he knew they had found a girl a while ago with a strange mark, and that it had a large importance in the world, so he asked them about it, afterwards, they went to Shear's house personally and told him and his family what the mark meant, from then on Shear had a lot more to worry about than he ever thought he would before.

Pokemon: Munchlax nicknamed Lax, and Dratini nicknamed Draco.

    RP Sample:
"So, ready to grow closer to and farther away from dear old dad at the same time buddy?" Koam, Shear's father said to him as they stepped off of the SS. Aqua that had just arrived from Johto. "Of course I am, finally! my journey is beginning." Stepping off of the dock and onto the soft neat grass, they began walking in the direction Koam said Prof. Birch's lab would be.

"Maybe now you'll finally meet a nice girl you can actually talk to, after all, your mother and I met because I was a Trainer." Shear blushed a bit and tried to sound un-stressed. "Dad, don't worry, it may happen in time, don't rush things." "I'm not, do you know how hard it is to watch your son stay single 3 years longer than most boys and get wobbly legs whenever he actually talks to a pretty girl? Of course you don't, your 16." Sephy sighed and thought to himself. "This will be a long trip if dad doesen't get off this subject soon, oh well, I can finally start, Woohoo!" He pumped his arm gleefully into the air as he thought the last part.

At what was about an hour later, yet seemed like minutes to Shear because there were beautiful pokemon he had never seen everywhere, they reached Littleroot town. Koam stretched happily "Ah, brings back memories of when I started my journey, course I didn't have connections like you do." "Whatever, you're just jealous of my skills." "I sure am, it's like you were never even a noobie, heh."

Sephy looked at the large pokemon lab, he was about to step inside when his dad shoved him through the door. "Come on junior! We've got people waitin' for us." "Don't call me junior dad...." Sephy walked through the lab, looking at all the assorted scientific and pokemon related things. "Cool." When Koam noticed Prof. Birch he ran straight to him. "Hey! Professor, hows it goin'?" Sephy walked slowly behind, embarrassed. "Heh.....well I guess I made it...."

    Flashback

"So, you really think you can take on your old man already? Somebody is confident about themselves." "I sure am bring it on!" Koam had decided to let his son choose any pokemon within reason for the battle, while he used his trusty Nidoking, Sephy had chosen Riolu, feeling a strange link to it. Pressing the buttons on the pokeballs, they released their pokemon, Riolu looked truly puny compared to Nidoking, nonetheless, it looked determined.

10 minutes later, it had been a fierce battle, but Riolu was on the ropes. "Alright, time to finish this, Nidoking, use Super Power!" Nidoking glowed with a red aura and charged at Riolu with a fierceness that would have made a Dragonite quail in fear. Sephy waited, it was risky, but he did nothing until Nidoking was less than a foot away from Riolu, to late to change course now. "Riolu, use Counter, and then Force Palm!" As Riolu's body began to glow Nidoking made contact, it staggered bag from the blow, then right as it was stunned Riolu slammed it in the ribs with a glowing fist, Nidoking's entire body twitched, it was paralyzed. "Alright Riolu, now it's time to finish it up with-" Koam interrupted. "Extremespeed, now!" Nidoking was too fast for any reaction, it slammed into Riolu, who then fell to the ground, total Knockout, but seconds later Nidoking keeled over in fatigue.

"Oh Come on!" Sephy said disappointed, he was about to complain again when his dad scooped him up with a hug so powerful he thought he would suffocate. "I'm so proud of you, that was amazing! I have to call him right now, he'll love to hear it." "Who would love to-" Too late, he was gone into the house, Koam couldn't wait to tell Lance, Sephy thought it would be harmless, but only becuause he didn't understand how Lance's situation would change very soon, lots of things would be....

    Present

Shear sat uncomfortably, watching the adults talk. "Could that battle really mean I have the kind of potential dad said I did?......I hope this doesen't turn in to anything bad....I have the eeriest feeling....."
"Alright, here you go." Birch said, handing Sephy the ball containing his new pokemon, treat it with care." "Yes!" Sephy jumped once in excitement, then pressed the button on the pokeball, releasing a red light which formed into a Scyther. "Sweet! I'm gonna go outside right now and pl-" "Son, sometimes overzealousness can lead to rudeness, why don't we just wait for the others to get here?" "There are others?" "There sure are....why don't I tell you about them, me and Lance spent a lot of time talkign about it."

Melinda sat on a bench on the ferry heading to New Bark Town. The girl made sure to keep her head down strategically so that her dark bangs cover her strange, yellow eyes. She stared down at James, her Munchlax, who sat sleeping in her lap. Melinda then darted her eyes to the right to where Echidna, her Ekans, all but stood beside her trainer. The snake flicked her tongue out to see if she could taste anything unusual.

Melinda hugged James closer to herself, feeling his familiar warmth and softness against her. The Al'ci had often done this to the Big Eater Pokemon and, just like every time before, he didn't even stir at he new tightness. The only move he made was to snuggle closer to his trainer. Melinda couldn't help but smile a bit. Even in sleep, James knew how to make her feel a bit better. Melinda was once again thankful that her foster parents when she was 12 gave her the Pokemon, he had helped through many a difficult time.

Echidna looked at the scene with one yellow and grunted softly before once again checking out the surrounding. Melinda sighed softly at her other Pokemon. The Ekans was the exact opposite of James. She wasn't very loving and even scoffed when other Pokemon or trainers did show affection. She even seemed to view Melinda and the world with a great distaste, as if she always had better things to do.

But, despite all of this, Melinda was happy to have the snake around. If only because Echidna was the only Pokemon around that could safely hold her back during her violent stages with out hurting either Melinda or anyone else. Also, Echidna kept others who would mean to do her trainer's harm away. This was a full time job for if Melinda's eyes don't give away what she really is, then the marking on her left arm would. Of course, a well placed hiss always sent even the most curious or brave person away. With all her faults, Melinda had to say that the snake was very loyal to her job.

As the boat neared its designation, Melinda closer her eyes and leaned her head back. She knew that Echidna would let her know when they reached the town and that her eyes were covered. She had often been asked why she didn't wear sunglasses and/or a long sleeved shirt, surely that would make things easier. The answer to both of those questions is simple and easy; it's uncomfortable. As if Rayquaza wanted her to suffer with her markings, sunglasses make it very hard for Melinda to see and if she puts any kind of cloth over her mark, then it becomes extremely itchy and she is just dying to take it off.

Of course, Melinda didn't doubt that the Legendary of the Sky did do theses things on purpose. From all that Melinda has heard or read about the Legendary, it was extremely proud, vindictive and, most of all, angry. The girl curled her hands into fists as she thought about all the dragon had put her through. It wasn't just the fact that he had made her an Al'ci, making her an outcast and causing her real parents to leave her. She had learned to accept these and, really, she didn't want to see her real parents or even learn anything about them.

No, what made Melinda really hate Rayquaza was the fact that he had to pick an Al'ci. Why wouldn't the stupid thing just leave people alone!? He had never done anything good for people, as far as Melinda could read, and his emotions just made his chosen's life unbearable. Melinda laughed to herself when she thought of other Al'ci. The worst they had to deal with was intense pains or migraines. Oh how the girl felt blessed when that was all she had to deal with! But no, she had to get the Legendary that felt the greatest amount of emotion at random times and, therefore, left his Al'ci with confusing fits of uncontrollable rage and violence. Making it so that Melinda couldn't find any place but a prison to call home…

Melinda grunted when she felt a soft bite at her shoulder. She opened her eyes and turned to see Echidna looking at her. The Ekans grunted again before pointed towards New Bark Town, which the ship had arrived at. With a sigh Melinda picked up her pack and, while still holding onto James with one hand, walked off of the boat. Echidna followed close behind Melinda, both to make sure nothing happened and because she really did not like the boat.

When her feet touched solid ground again, Raquaza's Al'ci looked around at the strange and new town. She noticed that, while most in the town were older, there was a group of three kids who all had Pokemon, a Growlith, a Snorunt, and a Totodile, standing around together. Just out of instinct, Melinda started to walk towards them, but then stopped when she noticed that all three had strange markings on them. Melinda knew what these markings were and, not wanting to deal with people like herself, started to walk to the right of the group.

However, James decided to take this time to wake up. The Munchlax gave a loud yawn and jumped out of his trainer's arm. The Big Eater Pokemon gave a big stretch and started to look around his surroundings. When he noticed the young group and their Pokemon, he let out a happy cry and started to run over to them.

"James!" Melinda shouted and ran after her Pokemon, Echidna right beside her.

Despite this, James had a big enough lead and reached the group before either his trainer or comrade could. The Munchlax waved his stubby arm at the humans and Pokemon before tilting his head and giving a questioning; "Much munchlax?"

this RP inreterests me, i would like to join

    Name: Orin (lightning) Raint

    Age: 16

Gender: *Orin looks down his pants* yep, still guy

    Legendary: Zapdos

Appearance: Orin has lightining yellow eyes and longish yellow hair and it comes down to his eyes in the front and covers part of his neck in the back, and most of his ears. He isn't exactly muscular, but his height definitely makes up for it. He stands at 5'10" with only a minor amount of body mass, hardly any being actual muscle. Even though he seems like your average nerd, he is actually unusually strong. He can somehow through a grown man off a cliff (which he has done when someone was threatening to shoot him) and no one knows how. He is light weight too, being only 100lbs. he has an unusual lightning bolt shape on his forearm, and his bangs always are in the shape of lightning bolts, no matter how wet the get or how much he combs them. He also tends to build up static electricity, and shocks people whenever he touches them. For this reason he has been banned from pools nearly everywhere.

Personality: Orin is generally a very nice person. He is easy to get along with, yet he doesn't have many friends. He does however, have bursts of anger which boost his strength so much he could almost (almost) pick up a car. He is normally picked on by kids at his school for his lanky appearance, and can conceal his anger very well, like the time the local jerk dumped a smoothie on his head, he just wiped it off, laughed at the jerks insolence, and left. He did become feared by most of the kids at the school though after he threw the man off a cliff. Since then he lost the few friends he had. He can also understand electric pokemon.

History: Orin grew up in Mauville city in Hoenn where he befriended many electric types. His parents had both died when he was young, and was raised by a group of Electrike and Manectric. The pokemon considered him as one of the pack immediately, and raised him as one of their own. Orin, of course knew that he was human, but still loved the pokemon like his family. When he was ten, Orin left the pack to go off on his own adventure. The Alpha of the pack, a wise old Manectric, sent one of the younger Electrike with Orin to help the boy. Orin traveled to many places, but one of his favorites was Johto. While there, he caught an oddly colored Cyndaquil. Orin had heard of shiny pokemon, and even seen some, but this Cyndaquil was different than most. Where it should have been blue, it was a dark gray, and where it should have been tan, it was a harsh yellow. He nicknamed the pokemon bolt, because the Cyndaquil reminded him of lightning. The Electrike, who Orin had nicknamed Zippy, quickly befriended the oddly colored Cyndaquil. Bolt eventually evolved into a Quilava with the same color scheme. Orin stayed in Johto after that, going to a school for "deprived" children.

Pokemon: Electrike (Zippy) lv.17 moves: thunder, howl, quick attack, thunder wave
Quilava (Bolt) lv.18 moves: thunder, flamethrower, shockwave, double team.

RP Sample: the pain seared through Orins' head.
"Are you okay?" Bolt asked worriedly, Orin had been having pains like these almost every night now.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm okay." Orin groaned and sat up. It was around midnight
"Are you sure? It doesn't seem like it. You've been having these pains for almost a week now." Zippy said. Orin gave both pokemon a reassuring glance after rubbing his temples for a moment.
"Yes, I'm fine now." The boy said and lay back down. The pokemon looked at each other doubtfully, but went back to sleep. A Noctowl crooned as the moon rose above the tree tops. Orin fell into a fitful slumber.
    - - - - - - - -
The next morning, Orin was woken up by a strange old man. "Come with me." His voice sounded like a creaky rocking chair. Orin looked around and saw both his pokemon awake and ready to attack at any moment, electricity sizzling from both pokemon. Orin told them to calm down and cautiously followed the old man. He was led to a large stone pillar with a statue of a bird pokemon. Its wings liked ragged, pointing trait out and it had a long narrow beak.
"What is it?" Orin asked the old man.
"It is Zapdos. He plays an important role on our culture. He brings us food and water." The old man groaned.
"Wait, you brought me here to tell me this? I don't even know you!" Orin exclaimed.
    "You are an Al'ci."
    "A what?!" Orin said, confused.
"You are related to this pokemon. Your hair, the mark on your arm." The man explained. "You feel its pain, as it feels yours. Have you been having headaches recently?"
"How did you know about those?" Orin asked suspiciously. He looked at Bolt and Zippy; they seemed calm in the presence of the statue.
"Your headaches are because Zapdos is in pain…" the man said. Orin looked confused.
"There is a legend that an Al'ci, a child of Zapdos would be brought to us by gift. We here, have heard of others like you, children of other legendary pokemon. You must be sent to _________ (don't know where yet). There you will meet the other Al'ci. You must help each other to protect humanity!"
"Whoa, whoa, whooooooaaaa! I have just been asked to save the world?! I don't even understand any of this!" Orin said angrily.
"You must save humanity!" the man groaned and disappeared with a gust of wind.
"Do have any idea what that old fart was talking about?" Orin asked his pokemon.

HEILIG SCHEIßE, I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THIS HAD STARTED.
Geez, you guys gotta tell me these things D:
[By the way, about the 'always carries a stick with him'...I didn't mean an actual stick. I meant a stick of eyeliner xD]

    -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

Kristian cursed as he rose from his bed. His head was pounding...again...and he didn't know why. He hated it when that happened, because it often wouldn't go away for entire hours at a time. He'd been to the doctor several times and there was no explanation for it. No one knew why these headaches occurred, and taking medicine just made it even worse. One would think he was used to it by now, but every morning that he woke up with one, he'd be in a bad mood for the entire day.

Figuring he wasn't going to get anything done by just lying there, he got up and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. Once he'd stripped down to only his boxers he turned and stared at the marking on his tailbone, the mark that strangely resembled a crescent moon with a harsh slash through it, like the skin there had been ripped open with a knife. It almost looked like a tattoo -- a henna tattoo at the very least because it was a dark brown color, which was a striking contrast against his pale skin. It had been there as long as he could remember and he figured it was just a birthmark, but birthmarks couldn't glow...could they? At random times, usually right before the worst headaches hit, the area it was located at would begin to throb with a dull pain and it would glow a light red color. He'd told his mother, who had been worried and looked like she had wanted to tell him something, but had refrained from doing so.

Sighing, he stepped into the shower and let the water wash over him, hoping that everything would just go away. Just leave him alone. He didn't need anything else to be affecting his life right now.

But that all changed when he got out of the shower, dressed, and went downstairs, the migraine still in place. It had come immediately after he'd woken up from one of the worst nightmares he'd ever had -- maybe dreams and nightmares had something to do with it? That was often when he got them, so maybe if he just didn't sleep...no, that would never work. He did have insomnia but he couldn't just stop sleeping.

His mother was sitting at the kitchen table with her head in her hands and there was some professor that Kristian had never seen before sitting across from her. Once his feet hit the floor of the kitchen, both looked up at him. His mother put her head back in her hands while the professor kept looking at him, his expression apologetic.

"Hello, Kristian...how did you sleep?" the man asked, and Kristian felt sick. Why was this man he didn't even know asking him how his sleep had gone? He seemed nice enough, fresh out of college, short black hair with glasses and a professor's jacket on. But Kristian had long ago learned that appearances could be deceiving, and now it took incredible amounts of effort to gain his trust.

"I slept awful, how does that answer your question?" he shot, going to the refrigerator and pulling out the carton of chocolate milk. He uncapped it and drank straight from the container, something his mother didn't mind since she didn't drink any as long as he didn't have the entire thing in one sitting.

"Kristian, your mother and I have to talk to you. It's about something...special. Something about the thing you think is a birthmark."

Kristian set the carton down on the counter, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand and recapping the milk. "What do you mean, you have something to tell me about the birthmark? How do you even know about that?" After all, he didn't exactly go around showing it to everyone who would look.

    "It's...well, it's complicated."

"I think I can handle it."

Kristian's mother sighed shakily. He wondered just what it could be to have his mother so torn up.

"Well...there are these things called the Al'ci..."

    * * *

After a half hour of going over everything about the Al'ci and the mark on his back, which was apparently called a Fal'cia, Kristian's head was spinning even more than it had been when he woke up, which he didn't think was even possible. "So you're saying that Darkrai, the legendary Nightmare Pokemon that probably isn't even real...is connected to me through my birthmark?"

    "Your Fal'cia--"

"Whatever. Birthmark, Fal'cia, it's all the same. I've had it since I was born, haven't I?" Kristian watched the doctor, who made no move to agree or disagree. "So it's a birthmark, because I've had it since birth."

It took a few seconds for the doctor to recover from Kristian's slight outburst which had been somewhat unexpected since Kristian seemed to be a mostly quiet kid...at least from what he'd seen, anyway. "Darkrai is a very solitary Pokemon...it doesn't like to come out or socialize much. With the other Al'ci, the legendaries are well-known and they have monks to help them with everything. But seeing as how Darkrai lives alone on an island thought not to even exist, I'm about the only one that can help. I don't have any personal ties to Darkrai but our lab is the closest to Newmoon Island, where Darkrai is thought to reside. We're trying to uncover the island but everywhere we've explored already..."

"Okay, so what am I supposed to do now? What are you supposed to help me with? And why is my mom crying? What did you do to her?" This was the area where Kristian got the most defensive, as his mother had been hurt countless times before and he didn't want to see a wonderful, sweet person like her cry.

"She's only crying because you're going to have to leave this town," the professor [whom Kristian realized he still didn't know the name of] told him. "You have to leave and go to New Bark Town to meet with the other Al'ci. The journey is top-secret so I'm afraid I don't know what you're going to be doing but I can assure you it's not going to be easy."

Somehow, through a whirlwind of events, Kristian found himself on a ship to New Bark Town hours later, saying goodbye and telling his mother he loved her more than anything over and over into the phone in his hand.

    * * *

Once Kristian showed up at the small town, he swept his eyes across it, looking for anyone that could be the other Al'ci. He didn't know what they were going to look like or anything -- the only thing he knew was that they'd all have birthmarks like him. His migraine was still persisting and he really didn't feel like looking anymore, but just then he spotted a small group of teenagers gathered together. Could that be them? Kristian didn't want to go over and ask just to find out it wasn't. He definitely didn't want to look like a fool, and he didn't want to give them any reason to talk to him if they weren't the Al'ci. He'd had enough trouble with socializing with people that weren't the right kind to socialize with...namely ending in him getting beaten to a pulp for being 'different', as they called it. A freak. A fag.

Just then he noticed one of the boys' hand -- on the back of it was printed a Fal'cia. He absolutely knew it was because of the intricacy of the design...he'd never seen a tattoo so carefully thought and planned out. It had to be them. Just had to be.

Walking up to the group, he wondered how he was supposed to alert them of the fact that he was an Al'ci. Was there some secret code or password that they were all supposed to know? He decided on something simple that would confuse anyone who wasn't an Al'ci and got it ready in his mind as he approached them.

"Uhm, hi..." he said quietly as he came up behind the boy with the mark on his hand, slightly to his side so he could see everyone else. "Hi, I'm...I'm Darkrai."

    -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

OOC: Hopefully that's alright. I didn't see the need to name the professor as he only comes in once and that was in this chapter, plus he's not one that anyone's heard of before [or will ever hear of again]. The boy Kristian noticed was obviously Tom :3

A question: Are there going to be romantics in this RP? Nothing too heavy, just wondering if there would be relationships involved. If there are, contact me ;3 So yeah. Hopefully this is good D:

Considering Newmoon Island isn't thought to exist, I figured there wouldn't be a following of Darkrai D:

Hi, I'd like to sign up for this RP, if it's not to late...
    Just two questions:

    1) Can there be one character for each legendary, or is the eighth spot the final one?

    2) Will the character have any special connection with the pokemon that share theis type with the connected legendary?

I'll write my sign-up when I get these questions answered :D

    Name: Patrick Umbrae

    Age: 16

    Gender: Male

    Legendary: Giratina

Appearance: Patrick isn't much for outward appearance. However he takes great care in toning his muscles and otherwise being fit. Evidence of which can be seen with the six pack. That is if one is able to catch site of it, with the layer of black clothes Patrick often wears. Standing at 5' 10", Patrick could have been considered a pretty popular high schooler. He isn't a goth, but he would almost suggest as much, though his white skin isn't pale, another identifier.

His usual dress attire would consist of black skater shoes, black jeans (something comfy), a black t-shirt (probably hasn't been washed), and his usually black hoodie (threatening to have holes any minute now).

Perhaps the only astonishing difference from his 'all black' look is his hair. The black hair on his head is usually spiked up, and each tip is dyed red or yellow, emulating that of Giratina.

His mark he was bestowed with since birth looks somewhat like a basilisk with wings, giving a slight appearance of a shadowed Giratina. It is located on the right side of the neck. This is usually hidden by his hoodie however.

Personality: Patrick always seemed a bit different from the other children; even with the birth mark as evidence enough of his difference. Choosing to be by himself the majority, of the time (except for his close friend Sam), Patrick talked to no one, and preferred it that way. He always appeared to be vigilant and menacing... And no less aware of his surroundings. His callous nature has gotten himself in trouble a number of times as well. Sometimes he would encounter bouts of rage for no particular reason. He also feels that there is importance in training himself physically so that in the event of something wrongly occurring, that he would be ready for it. All these traits ebbing off of him, from Giratina.

Despite what appears to be his cruel side, he is quite protective and caring – even though it appears to be selective at times. This protective feeling also came with that of beauty, it mystified him as to how life could be so ever present, and so beautiful. To his other side though, he isn't mean; he even does not mean to provoke those for what seems to be no reason. He is at times frustrated with himself that he seems to have an uncontrollable anger, but yet is thankful that the world around him is indeed vibrant. He believes this upcoming journey will help answer questions about himself, and who he really is.

While passive, Giratina's personality has shaped and affected Patrick more than even he knows.

History: Born in Hearthome City, Patrick was born to a regular couple, aspiring to have a descent life. For the early years of his life, little thought came of the strange mark on his neck. Looking back, he suspected his parents already knew back then, as to what he was. It was his mother who protected him the most, and defending him when need be. Whether at school talking to the principal (after another fight) or some other mishap he had gotten himself into. Such as when he attacked a boy who had littered on the ground. Patrick didn't think it was related as to why he felt angry, but he acted almost naturally to it nonetheless. He felt the best when he was helping his mother tend the garden. This however, did not last forever. Patrick knew his parents were already stressed out about his antics, to which he couldn't explain – only that they felt natural. The final straw however was pulled when Patrick had been helping his mother cooking. He had been flipping the burgers when suddenly he came over an uncontrollable rage. Dropping the fork he looked into his mother's eyes, and as she placed her hand on his shoulder, he used his free hand and scratched her neck deeply, roaring at the same time. His mother had not talked to him much since then and family affairs seemed quite constraint. Especially because his dad had hardly spoken to him to begin with. Finally deciding that a specialist was in order, Patrick was made to see a psychologist. The Psychologist however was quick to notice Patrick's birth mark – the mark of the Al'ci. The Psychologist was quick to make contact with his connections. Which eventually led to one thing and another. And thus it was revealed to him and his parents that he was a Al'ci, and all that carried with it, every burden and triumph... The Psychologist's contacts was an elusive group called 'The Shadow Order'. They offered to take him into custody as a form of protection.

Thus at the age of 12 he left (of his own accord) to a remote location hundreds of kms south of Snowpoint city. There he lived for the next 4 years in a medieval castle, among those who followed the wisdom of Giratina. As now Patrick was aware that he was connected with the legendary pokemon and his destiny, he was taught to the Order's fullest extent and provided with what he desired so as to accomplish his destiny. He understood what he was doing was helping to protect humanity, and while at times had the burning sensation of such an emotion, he still felt wrathful. At times, he would also feel pain – as though the pain of loss – as well. He wished to seek out what Giratina was feeling, and yet, at the same time, he would wonder how he was actually feeling. These questions he imagined would be answered to when he was ready.

    Pokemon: Riolu, Ghastly

RP Sample: (somewhat continued from History)

"Come on Patrick, we're going to miss it!" Sam called from above.

They had been climbing a mountain top for the past hour; aside from their flashlights, there was no light yet outside as they climbed the mountain.

    "Yeah yeah, I'm coming."

Sam was nearly at the top now. "I'm going to beat you," he called, from above.

    "I don't care!" Patrick complained.

    "Just admit I won!"

"No thanks..." Patrick retorted, now at the same location as Sam.

"East is that way right?" Sam asked, pointing his hand out in the darkness.

"Ummm I think so." Patrick said hesitantly.

"Well we made good time anyway!" Sam exclaimed, clapping Patrick on the shoulder.

Patrick had been in the compound for about 4 months now, this was his first time he was able to get out. That is to say, he snuck out with his friend. Sam's parents were a part of the order, one of the few children living in there. Sam didn't seem to mind Patrick, even when Patrick seemed to act strange beside himself. Sam had claimed it was because Patrick needed a friend, and Sam had no one else to turn to.

At the order, Patrick was already being trained on how to fight proper Pokemon battles and otherwise be a superb trainer. But he was still a kid, he still wanted to have fun. It didn't always feel like fun however, when he felt constant pains in his heart, as though someone had pierced it. He suspected this was Giratina's feelings, but said nothing of it, as by now he was getting used to it. This did not make it any easier to control however. He had already gotten in trouble with his professor a number of times, who quite conveniently was "naive" about Patrick's situation.

The constant reminder of his task in the future seemed to hang over him like a dagger. Even watching a procession of the black cloaked figures every Saturday in worship for Giratina was too much of a reminder. They very near well treated him as a Deity which he came to dislike. And hardly any time had passed...

"Hey! Look it's coming up, do you see it?" Sam yelled and pointed.

The sun was coming up, its light piercing the ground below ever so slowly. Sam and Patrick watched in silence as the whole canyon was bathed in light, the light reflecting off of the snow, in a brilliance, and extenuating the colour of the green conifers.

"Worth coming up here wasn't it?" Sam asked.

    "Yeah..." Patrick said serenely.

    *Present time*

"I'm packed and ready to go sir," Patrick informed his Professor.

"Excellent, our private jet will have you in New Bark Town in no time."

It was Patrick's last day with the Shadow order. He was now to begin fulfilling his destiny, along with other youth like himself. With him, he carried his belongings in his bag, and his pokemon (respectively in their pokeballs) in his poket. Both Ghastly and Riolu (acquiring them a fortnight ago) were accounted for. He had asked why he had not received his own pokemon earlier in his training, and was told that by learning the skills he is doing now, he is doing the new pokemon a favour in seeking to understand them, that a bunch of fully trained pokemon would be of no use to him or his destiny. Essentially he had to train his own. Patrick was ready to embark on his journey.

    And thus he set out.

Aki's fingers rubbed harshly against his collarbone, a deep frown embedded on his face as he stared at himself in the mirror. The marks were darker today, not their usual pale scar color. Gritting his teeth, the teen shoved himself away from the sink and stomped out of the bathroom.

His head was splitting his half, he was sure of it. It hurt so much, and the world would start swirling at the worst moments. Even though Aya hadn't called him down for breakfast yet, he was sure he would end up puking if the headache got worse.

Gingerly tugging on a white sweatshirt, the boy padded downstairs. From experience, he knew the headache wouldn't go away soon. It was better to just tell Aya he was feeling sick and spend the rest of the day curled up on his bed, trying not to barf as the throb took over his entire body.

"Aya-san! Aya-san!" he called. When he didn't get the usual, mocking "Aki-chan!' in return, his pace increased. While Aya had once gone out early, to survey some of the early morning Pokemon and nearly scaring Aki to death as he found himself alone in an unfamiliar hosue, she had promised not to do it again. "Aya-san?"

"I'm here, Aki," her smooth, deep voice called, though quietly. Aki stilled. Aya never used such a tone. She was always cheerful, upbeat. For an instant, he considered just calling down that he was sick and rushing back to his room. But his curiosity got the better of him, his empathy for the hushed tone in her voice, and he continued his trek downstairs.

"Good morning," and Aki paused yet again at her voice, her face as it was lifted from her palms where she had laid her head. Her whole body was drawn tight as a bow string, wrinkles that Aki hadn't noticed before crinkling in pain around her eyes.

"Aya-san..." he trailed off, leaning forward in worry.

"Ah, Aki-kun." Said boy jumped loudly at the unexpected male voice, nearly toppling over as he turned to face the man. The tall, almost too tall man with the broadest shoulders Aki had ever seen (broader even than Toya's), who was sitting daintily across from his new caretaker. A small smile was flashed in his direction, slightly calming his nerves. "Please, take a seat."

"Okay," he replied, trying to return the smile but fiding it drowning in worry over Aya. The volumptous woman still looked torn up, pained, and Aki had a sneaking suspicion it had to do with the behemoth of a man across the (suddenly tiny) table. Settling himself on the edge of the chair, he looked pointedly at both adults. "What's up?"

Aya sighed loudly, turning away. Aki was just about to reach over and touch her shoulder before she lept away and scurried to the stove, deciding right then and there to prepare breakfast. Some eggs, good protein, and milk if they had any. That way Aki would grow stronger...but even as her hand flew to the refrigerator she slumped. She didn't have any more time to cook the boy meals, try to fatten him up. To cajole him or call him 'Aki-chan' and ask if he wanted to borrow a few of her skirts. Which would always cause him to blush and look away, an odd smile plastered on his face. Almost as though he could fathom wearing the clothing, wanted to, but was waiting for the right time. And Aya would have told him that she wouldn't hold it against him, or resent him, or kick him out, just because maybe he liked wearing girls' clothes a bit better, but Aki already knew that so she had kept her mouth firmly shut on the touchier subject of whether or not the wearing of such clothing was acceptable or accepted.

    "Aya-san?"

"Aki-kun," the man cut her off before she could respond. Which was a good thing, because she was sure she would only manage to splutter nonsense if she tried talking. "There is something we need to discuss."

Aya was still bustling about the kitchen, and Aki really wanted to get up and stop her, just make her stand still for a moment because it was making his headache so much worse, and the world was all spotted now, swirling and dancing in front of his eyes. He rubbed at them fiercely before nodding at the older man.

"Oh-kay," he breathed out. "What's up?" he tried again, giving a bigger smile. The man looked down, as if reconsidering speaking, but snapped his head up just as quickly and clenched his jaw slightly.

    "It's about your birthmark."

Aki was sure that if his head hadn't been stabbing itself, the world would have stopped. Instead, it just got green and he nearly doubled over with his hands clutching his stomach. He bit his lip and bared the pain, not really seeing anything anymore.

"You mean the Fal'cia." The whole household reverberated with the word, making Aya still in her busywork and the older man glance down, yet again.

'I want to puke. I want to cry. I wanna...I wanna go back to bed, man,' Aki thought lamely. 'Do I have to deal with this? Really? Of all the days...'

A brilliant smile lit up his face, and he leaned forward. The pain was there, oh it was devouring him whole he was sure, but he ignored it.

"What about it? I'll show ya mine if you..." Aki paused, making out through the haze of his vision that his visitor was a bit too old to be an Al'ci. "Ah, nevermind. You don't have one, do ya?"

    "I don't. However--"

"You wanna take me to the other Al'ci, don't ya?" Aki pressed, plowing through the man's words. His smile grew bigger.

There was a loud smack-splatter! as Aya dropped an innocent egg, her whole body trembling at the mention of the young group. Embarrassed, she hurriedly got a towel to wipe up the mess, never even glancing at her young companion. But Aki knew, he just knew, that it was more of her fear of his leaving, that the house would be somehow emptier than when he came, that made her shake so badly.

'I don't really want to leave...' he thought, only stretching his mouth wider in an effort to conceal the turmoil he was riding through.

"I...yes. That's why I'm here. To take you to New Bark Town, and the other Al'ci who are meeting there," the man confessed, trying to stare into Aki's eyes. The boy took a deep breath and exhaled, shaking his head with a laugh and quickly rising.

"Well then! I suppose I better pack my stuff. Shouldn't I, Aya?" And wrapped up in the question, the almost innocent question, was the real question of whether or not she would let him leave. He didn't have it in him to stop her from pulling a stunt like his mother did, keeping him safely inside her home, but he hoped that maybe...she would let him free. Even if it meant facing something he wasn't at all prepared for.

"Yeah...yeah, you should," she murmured, cracking an egg into the now-hot skillet. For a moment, Aki's smile dropped and he just stared at Aya. And then a smaller, truer smile graced his lips.

But before the man could comment on the shift, Aki was up the stairs, throwing anything that he could disern as his blindly into his still unpacked bag. His almost-gone vision spotted two Pokeballs lying innocently enough on the now empty counter.

    He sighed.

    "Time to go again, guys."

    ~*~

The sickness, the throbbing, everything that made Aki's life so painful, got worse when he was on a boat, in the water.

Which was why he was now praising the forces of the world that he had dodged the misfortune of riding one.

"No boat? No boat, right?" he practically begged. Of course, he retained some of his dignity, not groveling before the man. The older, bulkier male only shook his head slightly.

    "No. Car."

And, since the man didn't provide the most inspiring conversation, Aki had fallen asleep, his face smooshed awkwardly against the window. The entire ride, he slept. And he dreamt, but as soon as the car pittered to a halt and his eyes snapped open he shoved the dreams down and put on his best smile.

"Thank you," he said as the man handed him his luggage. Only one small suitcase, but he couldn't really have gotten much more away from his mother's home. Biding a friendly farewell and waving excitedly as the car drove away, Aki turned to face this new...outside world.

    He blinked.

'Well...I have no idea where to go...really,' he thought dismally as he glanced around. His headache had receeded, thankfully, allowing him to at least see his surroundings.

'Oh!' A group of teens was off to the distance, surrounded by various Pokemon. He made to go towards them, stopped, started again, and finally yanked down the front of his shirt, staring at his Fal'cia in irritation.

The thing was glowing, glowing! A look of indignation crossed Aki's face, but he smoothed it out, instead planning the best way to...start interaction with the group.

Finally, he approached them. A beaming smile was on his face and he eagerly tossed his arms around one of the boys, distantly realizing that the boy was wearing heavy amounts of eyeliner. Part of a sincere smile graced through the fake one and he leaned forward, nearly taking the boy with him.

"Hey. I'm Aki. And I'm assuming this is the save the world club, ya?" he greeted, his smile never faltering one bit as he shamelessly inserted himself (wanted or not) into the group.

    ~*~

emoBill, I hope that doesn't count as bunnying...I don't think it should (but does it??? *is worried*) You're welcome to kill me for making Aki ignorant of personal space bubbles.

OOC: Okay starting now! (Urgh I'm so late...)

    IC:
Luna leaned on the metallic handrail of the bow of the ship and gazed onto the horizon. Her clothes flowed with the light wind that had blown across the ocean and the cool breeze to her cheek made Luna shiver for a second. The wind would catch a few of her hair and fling it across her face only to be moved with a soft hand gesture from Luna. Her two companions, Eevee and Ralts, chatted below her yet that wasn't enough to take her eyes off the view that enveloped her. It calmed Luna for some reason, that ocean. She also felt a foreboding loneliness deep within as she continued to stare out. And then...

*Flashback* (Why are so many of us having flashbacks xD anyways I'm gonna cut it short)
    ----------

"Yes, Mother. It's time for me to leave..." Luna had calmly said as she held back her tears. The journey Luna so longed for was here and yet, leaving her home brought emotional discomfort. Luna's mother held tears in her eyes as she hugged her beloved daughter.

"I don't want you to go. I have this feeling...that you won't come back to me." She tried to hold back the rain of tears as she spoke unclearly into Luna's ear.

"Eleanor... Let her go. She has to go. You know we both can't stop her... You heard what those Kimono Sisters had said those many days ago." Luna's father, Raymond tried to calm Eleanor to release Luna.

Luna began to ponder back at that time when she had met the Kimono Sisters. It was during that time that Luna had learned what the mark above her chest was. It was one of the crests of Lugia, the Guardian of the Seas. The Kimono Sisters were searching for the Al'ci of Lugia and to their surprise, had found Luna in such a rural area that no one would search. After a night of talk about the Al'ci and the legends of the Legendaries, the Kimono Sisters left much to be said. To their dismay, Luna's parents couldn't believe such a burden was placed on their daughter who had already had burdens of her own to deal with. Luna herself did not believe she was a chosen protector of the world and was left speechless. The Sisters had arranged for Luna to go to New Bark Town, where the destined children were to meet, and even gave her poke-balls so she could have traveling companions.

"In due time... You will know..." With that statement, the Kimono Sisters begged their leave.
    *End of Flashback*

Luna brought her right hand up and touched the mark. A cold chill shot through her before dispersing instantaneously. Thoughts came and went in her mind before...
    BLAAAARRRRRR~!
The loud horn of the ship had frightened Luna, and Eevee and Ralts had grabbed Luna's legs during the shocking loud noise. Luna looked at them and smiled.

"Oh, you two. It's just the ship's horn. Nothing to be afraid of." Luna tried to comfort them before snuggling them both. She had already forgotten about her worries.

"New Bark Town! Now Arriving at New Bark Town!" the captain of the ship announced through the speaker. Many people gathered their things and started to scurry towards the port side of the ship to exit. Luna rushed towards her cabin followed closely by her two pokemon and gathered her backpack and belongings.

"You two should get in your poke-balls since I might lose you in the commotion." Luna said and returned the two to their respective poke-balls. After a thorough second check of her room, Luna exited and headed for the port side as well. The ship had docked already and many people were eagerly exiting off. Luna was no exception for she didn't like to be confined to any places for too long.

Luna's first step onto the new continent of Johto refreshed her. She had been awaiting a journey like this for a very long time and though her priority as an Al'ci seemed to come first, Luna was determined to enjoy it to the fullest. Luna searched through her backpack's smaller pockets in search for something and took out a handheld device many would recognize as a Poke-Gear. She flipped it open and accessed the map function of it and tried to survey the area and see where she was. After a few minutes, Luna decided to just walk around town and let out Eevee and Ralts from their poke-balls. Happy that they were out of their poke-balls, both began energetically running around Luna.

"Alright you two. You know what we have to do." Luna held up her index finger and both of them nodded. Luna started walking followed side-by-side by her two pokemon and tried to find this group the Sisters mentioned while she browsed the town. It was her first time in another town and Luna felt a little excitement bubbling up. However, she didn't walk far before she saw a group of people not too older than herself gathered around and she also took notice to an elder man. 'Maybe he's the leader?' Luna pondered and made her way towards the group albeit slowly.

((Oh whoah... Sorry I was in Indiana visiting colleges over spring break so I am really behind... I will edit this post with results despite if anyone posts after this. I apologize for my unannounced absence but this roleplay will still go on. I am in the process of looking over each registration. I will be accepting more then a total of 8 but only those who I believe are up to standards. I will also be making a post tonight. Again sorry but I was gone longer then planned thanks to lovely Colorado blizzards...))

Blue Trainer: You sign-up isn't bad at all. The appearance is a little short but nothing that couldn't be fixed or really needs to be. The history and personality are quality, however, the RP Sample is not quite what is being produced by others. However, you are new to online posting so it could easily be fixed. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, but I believe you could handle this roleplay if you really wanted to put the effort in. Post on the OOC Thread or Private message me if you would like to participate and believe you could replicate the same quality the current posts are.

Lord Selphy: Your sign-up is pretty solid, however, the appearance is a little lacking. It was edited nicely and thank you for taking the time to do so. There are limited spots in this roleplay and as stated before, it is a a try out format, and I am just not sure there is room for you. Again I thank you for your time and effort and I believe if it would have been sent in early you could have been accepted. Too bad it was sent in with an influx of other sign ups. I apologize and I look forward to seeing you succeed in other compositions. If we are unable to get others to join I will contact you. There is no room.

Zapados926: Thanks for applying. You character is not really elaborated on at all. The RP sample, I believe, is the most important part of the application and yours is lacking. Thanks for applying and good luck with other roleplays.

Feign: Quality not quanity. An all around good sign-up. It was easy to read and even though the RP Sample was a bit short it didn't really matter. There isn't much to say about except that you are accepted.

DavyP1997: Umm... next time spend a little more time elaborating on things. Thanks for applying anyways but I believe you need to look for a different roleplay. You are not accepted.

    Chapter 1: Enter, Cain!

    Cain Rojizo
    Location: Viridian City -

"I WON'T STAND FOR THIS!" Cain's voice roared powerfully and threateningly as the kid stood motionless in front of the tall and cold figure of a man hiding behind a shadow. "AL'CI! WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? WHO ARE YOU, AND HOW DO YOU KNOW ME?!" The young man questioned threateningly, as he approached said figure.

The figure that stood in front of him was tall and thick, clearly a man. His hair was long and curled down past his shoulders, and he possessed a beard that ran past his chest. "Again, I'm sorry. This is the only way." He tried to explain, but to no avail.

"BASTARD, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TALKING TO?" Cain questioned as he continued to verbally assault the old man.

"I'm talking to a strong yet misled young man who knows nothing about life!" the man barked back. "Have I not proved that I know you better than you know yourself?" he asked continuing to pick at Cain's nerves.

"SHUT UP!" Cain yelled as he cocked his arm back and shot a powerful and swift punch at the silhouette.

The punch landed, but it did not hit the desired victim; and Cain quickly stepped back after his eyes met those of a powerful-looking Nidoking. "Nido!" the Pokémon grunted menacingly at the puny (in comparison) human.

"I've said what must be said. You ARE, and will FOREVER be an Al'ci, your eye DOES and will FOREVER contain that mark… the Fal'cia, and your mission IS and will FOREVER be to save our planet. I'm sorry." A harsh, but absolute reality, Cain clenched his fist strongly, driving his uncut nails into the palm of his hand as his eyes continued fixated upon the humongous Nidoking.

"An ironic but convenient turn of events if I might add." He retorted with tears hanging from the bottom of his eyes. But the silhouette would take none of it anymore.

"Shut up for once won't you!" he yelled sternly. "Does it not cross your mind that I would take any opportunity to switch shoes with you?! You're WEAK! You're unprepared! You're stupid! And you are NOT the one responsible for this… I am! I am BETTER than you in EVERY single aspect, and I will NOT take your disrespect lightly!" The agitated man finally drove his message through to Cain. "Your current position is directly my responsibility, YES! But don't you think I hate to see my hopes rest on the shoulders of someone as incapable as you?!"

Cain had absolutely no answer, however. He took a deep breath through his nose, inflating his cheeks, and glaring at the man in front of him. The silhouette still undecipherable, "Cerulean Cave, huh?" he finally said after a few seconds of thinking. "Very well, I'll correct your mistake."

    "Wait, what do you…"

"Poison Sting!" and with that command, the man dropped to the floor immediately, eyes rolled back, mouth foaming. Heartless, non-lethal on a human… if the man was healthy enough… but Cain couldn't be bothered by the small details; he was a man on a mission, and that mission should take him north, he thought as he used the distraction to slip past the man's Pokémon.

    - - - - - - - - - -
The road wasn't long, but it was very tiring. Cain had to walk across Viridian Forest, and then through Mt. Moon in order to finally reach Cerulean City. As he emerged from the cave he remembered the reason why he had needed to stop before [1]. He held his stomach as he felt it unsettle and grumble. And taking a deep breath he entered Cerulean Cave just north of his position…

However, his intrusion wouldn't last… Who's there? He hadn't actually heard anything, but he could feel it, fear, anger, annoyance. Cain gulped hard, it felt as if he had swallowed a pebble the size of a Poké Ball, and gained the confidence to take another stride forward. However, this couldn't last too long.

Upon having his left foot plant itself on the ground once more, a rumble ran across the cave. Water droplets hanging from the ceiling fell in unison, and giving the impression that a bomb had been dropped indoors. Fear planted itself in Cain's heart, however, the ringing in his ear, caused by the 'explosion' irritated him to a greater extent… somehow, he felt angry. How could it be possible for him to feel more anger than fear at this point? He didn't know, but the trip wouldn't be easy, as his legs became unresponsive for random intervals of time without his consent. "Dammitall!" he kept thinking every time this happened.

You're pissing me off! Was, again, not a thought but a feeling that ran across his body all the way from his ankles to the dome of his head. But, who was pissing him off? Was the man from before still lingering in his mind? He didn't know, but continued forward. This whole Al'ci deal needed to be stopped.

Finally, he reached a door. Literally, a door! It looked old, and dusty, but the inscriptions on it were clearly human. Cain caressed his hand across the dents to get rid of the dust, until he could clearly read: Cinnabar Island Labs. The line underneath was smaller and unreadable, but it must have been some sort of slogan. Why are you here?! a shiver asked as it ran from his gut to his right fist, which inadvertently punched the door open, dusting it off further, and opening a huge gash on his already tendered knuckles. (Remember kids, don't ever punch walls… or Nidokings :D).

A purple glow emanated from the room, and suddenly, Cain felt as if his left eye, his Fal'cia, rotated on its own axis, and with an overwhelming sense of nausea, he fell kneeling and began to vomit uncontrollably. Suddenly, he felt the cold energy get closer to him. As he tried to raise his head, eyes full of tears from both anger and the previous 'expulsion', he was able to notice a thick, whitish-gray tail that hung from something over him, barely off the ground. He tried to look up once more, but the same sense of nausea struck, prompting him to curl up and vomit, completely losing whatever was in front of him from sight.

"We meet again… Mewtwo!" he heard suddenly. "This voice… I know this voice…" Cain thought as he hugged his persona to try and rid himself of the harsh coldness and the sense of nausea. Maybe this hadn't been his brightest idea?

"I thought you'd understand my desire to never see you again." The creature in front of Cain, Mewtwo, replied. His manner of speech was incredibly formal, but the coldness, the killing instinct… "I hope you understand that neither one of you will live to see the light of day… Giovanni."

"Giovanni! Impossible!" Cain thought bewildered at the thought that Giovanni, former Viridian City Gym Leader, and Team Rocket Leader was even alive to begin with. Not only the Kanto Police Force, but the World Police had searched for him for years, "I thought they'd found his body" *Blaaargh!*

"Well, let's just say, that I beg to differ." The confident Gym Leader pointed out smartly. And a huge wave of rage titillated across Cain's body. "Onix, NOW!" he yelled powerfully, and immediately, a slithering Onix appeared from the ceiling, grabbing both humans, and crashing into the ground headfirst making it appear like a bullet train had just crossed the station… it was Dig!

"Hahaha!" Giovanni laughed triumphantly before his Onix came to a sudden stop. "What the…"

"Mewtwo grabbed a hold of him." Cain informed, still shaken up from before. Indeed, Mewtwo had reached down, and grabbed a hold of the humongous Pokémon's tail, and incredibly, began to pull it up from the ground, little by little.

At the realization of what was going on, Giovanni had no choice. He patted his Pokémon three times on his face, and with a mouth motion of I'll miss you, he took another Pokémon out, Abra, and quickly commanded it: "Teleport!"

    - - - - - - - - - -

Cain's world became torn from upside down, the colors around him began to distort and twirl on each other, first melting to a dark brown color, and with a couple of twinkling flashes of light everything became white, and suddenly he was somewhere else… a place he had never seen before.

Falling with a thud from apparent nothingness without realizing what's going on will definitely make your day, and Cain grunted as he sat up on the ground rubbing his head, and as his eyes adjusted to the light, a sign became visible to him: [New Bark Town → "The Town Where the Winds of a New Beginning Blow"]

"What the…" confused Cain got up, dusted himself, and noticed that his headache was almost completely gone… but then, looking up at the small town in front of him it hit him. He had always been good at geography and sciences at school… "I'm in Johto."

Deciding to not waste anymore time, Cain infiltrated the town as he tried to brush the dust off him. As he was walking, he suddenly noticed a congregation of people at the center of the town. It wasn't hard for even an untrained eye to notice that most of the people in the group had strange 'markings'… "Fal'cia?!" Cain thought as he flinched back behind a house to stay out of sight.

"They must be Al'ci, but how? I thought I was the only one… Damn!" And with a newfound determination, he decided to spy on the people, with hopes of finding out more about himself, and how to save the world!
