3rd Gen Altering Cave--do these e-cards really exist?

The "fact" that Japan had e-cards to change the Pokemon in Altering Cave has been around for a while, but I was informed maybe a few months ago, by someone living in Japan, that they did not have access to changing Altering Cave either. Just like here, it was a Wonderspot feature that never came about. They even translated the Japanese Pokemon website page about e-cards, and there was no mention of e-cards for Altering Cave.

However, the info is still around, seemingly on every Pokemon messageboard and even wikipedia. My question is, does anyone have proof that these e-cards exist, and does anyone know where this rumor (because that's what it seems like it is) about e-cards may have started?

Maybe they exist in other countries. My FR/LG guide book said the E-cards existed. And the book is the official one from Nintendo Of America.

Your instruction booklet specifically stated that there was an e-Card for the Altering Cave? I don't remember it saying anything about that. I know it refers to e-Cards for obtaining Legendary Pokes like Mew, Deoxys and such, but not the cave itself. I am of course going off memory. I will have to see if I can find it and read it again to be sure. Cannot trust the old brain like I used to.

I've heard that the game designers were going to do the e-card thing, but decided against it and removed that part of the coding from the game. If that's true, then the cave is basically pointless.

Apperntly the e-card's are available in Japan Actually No word if they are gunna be out anywhere else

i thought the wonder spot was the rumor... and the e-cards were the way to do it... anyway a japanese member can make clear of the situation....

My question is whether this statement is true or not, NOT whether there are any e-cards here in America. I already know they don't exist here.

Someone from Japan told me there were NO e-cards in Japan, or anywhere, to change Altering Cave. I want to know if anyone saying there ARE e-cards in Japan has proof of their existence.

I'm sorry, but people seem to be just jumping into the discussion without actually reading my original post...unless it was really that unclear... O_o

My Nintendo official guide makes no mention of e-cards whatsoever, for Altering Cave or otherwise.
