I think the D/P graphics are cool, but after a while in April I started to think I was playing some other game that had pokemon in it. The 3D Graphics kinda threw me off...I mean, it is obviously a new generation of Pokemon where they usually improve on graphics, but I think that the D/P graphics took away the Pokemon Feel...

    Anybody else think it too?

I think Johto Added the most "feel" Because of all the cute pokemon,

    But yea i notice it.

I hadnt noticed any thing unorthodox at all. I love everything about DP except Wifi capabilities

Nah. It adds enough for it to be good looking but is small enough so it hasn't totally changed the games; the story of the Pokemon RPGs all together to be honest  . It's weird when i go back and play 3rd gen again though, the proportions are totally different.

EDIT: i don't know why but : laugh : (no spaces) should show a smiley, it aint doing now.

I feel the game exactly as it has always been. Graphics improved, yeah, but the same feeling.

@Waluigi: What are you talking about? Wi-Fi is the most important thing in D/P.

In my opinion, I'd say D/P has an improve in the graphics, not only the graphics but the way the story goes. I do understand what you mean by the feeling of the game since it is a different story unlike the other ones. However there have always been a pokemon feeling in the games.

Actually, the story couldn't be closer to the rest of the games. You are a kid. A professor gives you a Dex and a starter. You have a friendly rival. And you do nothing but defeat gym leaders while you defeat an evil team until you reach the League. Nothing new.

True, however the only thing that doesn't feel like pokemon is the underground, in my opinion I find it very stupid having a secret base inside it. I do think that they did a good job having other things in the underground but they could atleast have the secret bases so that people around the world can see it aswell as people who are close. If you get what I mean.

The thing i dont like about D/P, and i think they could have done this if they were serious, that you still move in boxes...

I mean, why are we not able to move pixel at a time?
others may not notice it, but, when you compare animal crossing and d/p, they have pixel steps :D, pokemon dont, they have watering plants/selling, so does pokemon, pokemon has little minions fighting, animal corssing dont, they both have wifi, animal crossing has a bank... D/P just lost the item storage...

D/P seem isolated from the others. Probably because it is the only DS "badge collecting" Pokemon game. Good ideas though.

Why you want Item storage? Your bag practically holds everything.

Still, the game feels the same. The 3-D effects just gave it that fresh look, while keeping the same feeling.

yah somtimes i forgot i was playing a pokemon game until i saw familiar faces.
the secret bases should have stayed in the overworld too.
the thing that realy got me was the new battle animations.
it took the familiarity i adjusted to for 4 or so years.

in my opinion Ruby and Sapphire were the best.
(maybe it because i fell in love with the GBA and GCN but not really the DS and Wii)

No I think the feeling remained the same :) The only thing I dont like in D/P are hackers
    -_-

D/P has a new feel to it, and the 3D is well different
But I don't think it's ruined pokemon as a whole, it's just changed
My favourite is Silver/Gold, because of lots of new things being introduced

I like the new look.it shows that there changing and trying to keep it fresh for new fans while trying to keep the old.

Wifi = best thing to ever happen to the pokemon series

It' really just the Pokemon sprites with me. 2nd Gen's sprites were a bit of a leap from 1st gen, 3rd Gen's were a giant leap from 2nd gen, and now they've all just been shown in slightly different poses. Other than the new 3D effect to the out-of-battle world, the graphics really didn't improve enough... I was expecting and hoping for something better.

    Good old days :)

I remember first picking up the blue version on my game boy pocket. Choppy sprited and everything in black and white. Oh yea, those were the good old days ;)
