Alright..now before I post this, I'd like to say I'm not in any way associated with the news program that posted this article. I just want to help find that little girl. Here's the article:
Authorities say a missing 12-year-old Florida girl may be in the Atlanta area with a registered sex offender.
On Monday, police extended a nationwide Amber Alert from Florida to Georgia, particularly to Atlanta, for Briana Schultheis, of Wakulla, Fla. She may have traveled by Greyhound bus to Atlanta with 30-year-old Raymond Lewis, according to Steve Lazarus, a spokesman with the FBI in Atlanta.
Jeffrey Barnes, an Atlanta resident, said he spoke to Lewis at the downtown Atlanta Greyhound bus station on Monday. The two men talked about a golf game, Barnes said, and, as far as he could tell, the duo didn?t appear to have any luggage with them.
Schultheis met and formed a relationship with Lewis after her father hired him to do some odd jobs at their home, according to Wakulla County sheriff's Sergeant Patrick Smith. When Schultheis? mother discovered Lewis to be a registered sex offender, she immediately fired him, authorities said.
Lewis was convicted of lewd and lascivious behavior in front of a 12- to 15-year-old, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Web site.
Schultheis? mother discovered her 12-year-old daughter missing Sunday night when she went to check on her in her bedroom. Police say her window was open and her backpack, some clothing and personal items were gone.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued a Levi?s Call ? Georgia?s version of the Amber Alert ? on Monday evening.
Briana is described as a white female, with blonde hair and brown eyes. She is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. Lewis is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Wakulla County Sheriff's office at 850-926-0800 of the FBI in Atlanta at 404-679-9000.
