An Adult Pokemon Chatroom

I've posted a couple topics on here, that were subsequently closed because their nature is not suitable for children. They weren't sexual, but they were dealing with materials that children cannot purchase.

So, I am suggesting that a forum for more mature topics be created, as a part of this board, not necessarily the 'other chat' board, but as a part of the PokeCommunity. This way we can discuss topics related to pokemon that children should not necessarily be exposed to.

I don't want to seem threatening, but the absence of one really speaks to me, that the PokeCommunity does not wish to have adults present. If one isn't made, I'm not going to hang out. I want to talk to other fans of pokemon who happen to be adults. If that's not going to happen here, then I'll see you.

Hm ... why not talk about the PG-rated stuff on the forum, and reserve the more adult natured conversations for PMs, or Instant Messengers? Majority of the members here are probably not accustomed, or interested, in that type of conversation. And even if you did make a thread like that, I'm sure some of the naughty little buggers would still sneak a peek. I know I would. XD

Didn't work out as planned, and it's not likely to be revived either :<

And besides, there are plenty more "mature" members around these parts who don't seem to have any issues with the lack of "adult" topics.

Well perhaps it would be a small community, but I can't just PM every adult person on the forum with a mature based question. I'm not necessarily talking about the 'lack' of adult topics, I'm talking about the inability whatsoever to post adult topics.

To tell you the truth, I can't really think of topics that are mature and poke'mon related except for "Ash is Gay" or something weird about the Poke'mon breeding center.

It's not that poke'community dosen't want adults present, it's just that poke'mon can't easily made into mature topics and most of all, poke'mon was made for kids over 7. What possible reason would poke'community need to add a mature poke-ralted topic section? That kids on PC would go into and look at anyway?

It wouldn't be secure if it was just put in the forums, and members underage would look through it. And if you put it into a secure place, Young members would find it anyways and still look at whatever topics adult members would think of.

I meen, as I type I already would know where are some possible locations could be anyways. You see, if a 11 year-old can find it, how could it be secure to just mature members?!

lol, that is so true, its a game I played when I was 7 and still play now... there really isn't anything mature about it, but i still luv it :-)

Well, what you're saying inspires me a little bit.
Pokemon actually does deal with some mature themes, like if you were to breed a pokemon with the pokemon that bore it.
That's fairly mature.
I think so is catching wild pokemon and forcing them to battle other pokemon.
Even in the show, in Japan they have cultural influences that are not allowed to be shown in America because 4kids feels that the themes may be too mature.

Another thing I get from your post, is that you're right, kids of all ages would be able to get to it, if they really wanted to. But those same kids would probably find that their time is better spent looking for adult topics on different, more explicit websites.
And that most of those websites filters are just as strong as the ones that would be made here.

So, after looking at your view, it makes me think why should we censor anything at all? It's not like they wouldn't be able to view it anyway.

I know this is kind of off topic, just had to say it, that annoys me that they show episodes of the show in Japan that they don't in America, American kids are just as mature as japanese kids! ok well thats all I had to say, back to the subject

Some soccer moms think poke'mon cannot be exposed to children because they think that the show is purly based on kids puting animals anganst thier will to battle and give them porformance-inhancing drugs. But poke'mon cannot be put into mature themes that easily.

tell me 10 threads that could possibly be put into that forum.

That's fine, I don't want to make any one see something they're not ready to see. That's why an adult forum would have it's place.

I know, I'm not even a little kid or anything, I just like pokemon for the lighthearted nature of it, I could care less whether there is an adult forum or not

As Amachi mentioned, we did have the T-Dome. It degraded into a hotbed of flaming and bigotry, among other things. Not really the best results from the experiment. There are other places online to discuss "adult" Pokémon themes.

Well, it wouldn't just be limited to discussion of pokemon. and if I could come up with ten threads that could be on there, then I'd probably get kicked for spamming it.

But I mean, you guys have so many 'other' threads, an adult one would be suitable too, so we could talk about M rated games, or Roleplaying that isn't as cute as the current threads. Some that involve maybe rocky horror picture type of stuff.
You know what I mean?
But it seems so far that I'm the only one who's fighting for it. Maybe this thread just needs more time and publicity.

You can talk about M Rated games in Other Games.

There's a difference in talking about Resident Evil or God of War or Manhunt, or even talking about the morality of drinking/smoking/drugs/porn/whatever. But topics like "What do you smoke?" or "What do you drink?" or "I think game companies should give away free cigarettes and pot with games." are totally different and really not acceptable on many forums, especially Pokemon forums.

Well, what if I were to talk about 'what brand do you think Solid Snake Smokes' in the other games forum?
I think it's a little wrong to say that mature themes aren't allowed in one thread because people of all ages visit the forum, and then allow them in another thread, totally ignoring what you were saying a minute ago.
