You can talk about M Rated games in Other Games.

There's a difference in talking about Resident Evil or God of War or Manhunt, or even talking about the morality of drinking/smoking/drugs/porn/whatever. But topics like "What do you smoke?" or "What do you drink?" or "I think game companies should give away free cigarettes and pot with games." are totally different and really not acceptable on many forums, especially Pokemon forums.

yea, I agree with that, there are some things that can be discussed that are more mature, and others that shouldn't, it's a balance

I'm not obsessed, my feathers are just a little ruffled because I was having a pretty good conversation going on with people I haven't met before that was ended abruptly because apparently it was inappropriate. But If I was talking about how much blood comes out when Leon from RE4 is cut in half, you wouldn't bat an eye.

I mean, really, is smoking/drinking worse than violence to that extreme? If so, I'll go to your house and I'll show all kinds of displays of violence in front of your home. Because you're basically telling me, that violence is ok at any age, because the government only condones drinking/smoking when you're older.

But as time marched on, it degraded rapidly. It turned from a good place to discuss hot topics like abortion and such to a place where people openly expressed their hatred. Many people were offended and left PC. I dont know how many time I saw my friends under fire. It wast pretty
There was much racism and anti-[insert your religion here]ism. There was also many 'I hate [insert member]' or '[insert vulgar phrase] [insert member] threads as well.
No one here who experienced the T-dome will ever want to see it again. Especially not the Staff members that were in power during it's life. I know I dont.
I agree with Amachi. I'm 19 and I still love pokemon and I certainly dont mind the lack of 'mature topics'
Sure, It means I have less to reply to but Overall it allows me to spend more time focusing on what I enjoy most. Seriously if you want to discuss mature topics then make some friends and Discuss it via PM. or even MSN.

What you're discussing is lack of moderation. I'm for adult themed topics, but not hate.

There was an Army of mods for the T-dome and it still was a horrible place to be!
Mods have a life to ya know! They cant watch all the time!
And that's what T-dome was meant for. Adult topics. It degraded because there was a large number of flamers and haters.
I'm trying to say that We have done it before and it didnt fly! I was there. It didnt work!

Don't start spouting your mouth off about things you have no clue about. The T-Dome was heavily moderated, and offenses were caught and dealt with by the staff. That doesn't change that some hurtful things were said and seen before a staff member could take care of it. After all, a staff member might not have been in the conversation at the time something hurtful was said to someone who was. It's not like we have an instant system where all hurtful or spam posts are caught by our "Staffbot 2000"s and deleted as soon as they're posted.

I've had it about to here with you and your elitist attitude. If you want to discuss "mature" things like how you like playing games drunk or what's the best thing to smoke or how you think pot should be included free in every video game, then discuss it with your "mature" friends who actually give a crap or take it to a forum where it's allowed. We're not changing things around here just because of one disgruntled member who thinks that we should cater to him just because he wants to talk about immature crap that has no place on a Pokemon forum.

It's not easy to become a mod here. They are very selective about who gets that power here. I dont blame them. The mods we have now have earned their stripes.
I dont think that we need to have such a section.

That's assuming that just because we allow x, then we allow y as well. No. Talking about a game and how much you like it is one thing, while talking about an extreme level of violence related to it is another. I can't speak for anybody else (of course) but if I saw a topic that was about nothing but amounts of blood I would most certainly either close it or at least try to move the topic to something else. It's an inappropriate topic as well.

It doesn't matter how mature or not a few people are (and mind, I'm using "few" in relation to the thousands of members we have registered here), what matters is that the past has shown that the forum as a whole cannot handle an adult-based forum. That alone will make us reluctant to reinstate such a forum, never minding the fact that some of us who are adults would rather that those topics not become a focus of the community in any way. There are plenty of other places for those.

And regarding mods: all forums are different. Just because we have good mods in Forum A does not mean that we can just snap our fingers and summon up another mod for Forum B. It's not that simple.

Wow, you really seemed determined.

To tell you the truth, I can't really think of topics that are mature and poke'mon related except for "Ash is Gay" or something weird about the Poke'mon breeding center.

It's not that poke'community dosen't want adults present, it's just that poke'mon can't easily made into mature topics and most of all, poke'mon was made for kids over 7. What possible reason would poke'community need to add a mature poke-ralted topic section? That kids on PC would go into and look at anyway?

It wouldn't be secure if it was just put in the forums, and members underage would look through it. And if you put it into a secure place, Young members would find it anyways and still look at whatever topics adult members would think of.

I meen, as I type I already would know where are some possible locations could be anyways. You see, if a 11 year-old can find it, how could it be secure to just mature members?!

...

And what the heck topics would you think would be mature and poke'mon realated?! It's poke'mon for god's sake!

This Community Isn't Just about Pokemon....

But Yeah like it was mentioned above We had the T-Dome for Mature talk...It was working fine untill a bunch of idiots spoiled it...So I Doubt we will be seeing the same thing.

That sounds scary. I thought of something like that too, but if we really wanted a mature zone, go to another forum. We aren't commited to just one. I'm seventeen, and a proud african american/hispanic. And very mature and kind. If anyone said anything bad like that, I don't know what I'll do. Probably lose it. And thanks to these mods, I didn't know it was so hard. Would I have a shot at something like that someday?

It's kinda weird that I don't remember a section like that when I first joined...

Well, I'm gald that it was gone before I joined. Like I said before, I am proud of my race and who I am. I don't need any people talking bigotry.

Besides, what do we need an 'adult themed' topic for anyway? If this is a (dominatly) Pokemon forum, then what would there be to possibly talk about. Some people just won't quit.

If you really need such a forum to talk about your "adult stuff", feel free to join one of the many forums on the interwebz that offer it, this surely isn't the right one for you then.

I'm going to close this now, as anything that can be brought up after this would just be plain pointless, since there won't be such a forum again here.
