I've been finding this extremely helpful in hunting down Pokémon Sightings,
and wanted to help others too.
This Venn diagram tool is designed to pinpoint your hunting by way of the Sightings feature.
It's quite simple: find your location on the map. The "Where am I" button pinpoints your location with GPS. Let's say you're hunting for a Sandshrew that's on your Sightings listings. You make a green circle at your current location: this represents the radius of 200m, every possible place the Sandshrew COULD be in, since it's being picked up by your Sightings.

Now you walk toward a nearby spawn point you suspect Sandshrew might be at. Let's say you walk down Wyoming Street here. But oop, he's disappeared from Sightings! Now, update your current location and drop a red circle.

It should have a great deal of overlap with your green circle. Any overlapping parts are places that the Sandshrew CANNOT be, leaving just a sliver of green area left. This narrows down your search significantly: Now you know the Sandshrew can only be in one of two roads: the very short Iowa Street, or that section of Meadowood Drive up there.
You can also use the service with overlapping green circles. Keep walking, and if the Sandshrew stays on your sightings, make some overlapping green circles, forming a venn diagram where the overlaps are the only possible place Sandshrew COULD be.

For example if you plotted these greens, you would almost certainly want to head down Cabot Crescent or Pulberry Park - possibly Crofton Bay.
Best of all, it's not cheating!
It doesn't take any info from Niantic or even fellow players, all it uses is Google Maps.
