    hey guys
i read that ancient power is REALLY GOOD on tyranitar, but i dont know how to get it to learn the move. could someone point me in the right direction?

Through breeding chain. A male Kabuto or Corsola or someone from the Omanyte Family to a female from the Totodile family. Then breed to a female Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar.

how do you get hp rock? and what is hp rock?
    thanks for the reply batesymon

HP Rock is Hidden Power Rock. Hidden Power type can be anything and it all relies on EVs.

whats an EV? and how do you get hp rock? sorry, but I'm not going to understand any abbreviatons. I'm a newbie

An EV stands for Effort Value and you receive a certain EV for a certain stat after beating certain Pokemon. For example, if I were to beat a Whismur, I believe you receive 1 EV for Defense (I think that's what Whismur gives you). When you get 3 EVs for one stat (I think) it rises.

You need a certain ammount of EVs on your stats to get HP Rock (To get it a Pokemon must know Hidden Power. It doesn't tell you what type it is, btw.)

    Check Serebii.net for more information.

oh. i kind of deleted hidden power so is there a way to get it again?
by the way, i am talking about pokemon crystal
does it still work on that?

Some Pokemon learn it naturally (Unown is definetely one) and you can get a TM for it, etc.

does tyranitar learn it naturally? if not, where can i get another tm (i used mine already)

If you don't know what you're talking about don't post.

It takes 4 EVs to make a stat, HP is based off of IVs (Individual values), and the Serebii pages are full of errors at present. Not to mention there weren't any such thing as EVs in G/S/C.

A poke's IVs are hidden values ranging from 0-31 that are randomly assigned to a poke when you encounter it (In the first two generations [that includes Crystal], these values were from 0-15 iirc). A poke will retain these values for as long as you keep the game (as in, they never change). For each IV it has, it gains an additional point in that particular stat by Lv.100. Hidden Power is based off of IVs, making it completely random from poke to poke, and impossible to change a particular poke's HP. Catching another will get you new IVs, and probably a new HP.

Just use Rock slide though since it's ingame.

ok my tyranitar is level 78 with moves rock slide, earthquake, hidden power and crunch
    what should i change?

Well it would be helpful if I knew the type of the hidden power.

If you have HP and Rock Slide you'll have to make HP something Ty is weak against.

If this is in-game, you'll probably never change Hidden Power to the type that works for Tar.

    Soo...don't try.

A.Coz hit on what I was going to say, its IV's that matter and not Evs and if you already have rockslide the only useful Hidden Power would be bug and that is only if you would be playing competetively

just stick with rockslide, the games pokemon aren't exactly smart so they really can't coutner you, and the 10% stat boost [like everyone else said] isn't that reliable at all. the PP... will run out too quickly also.
