[ASM & Hex] Animated Sprites in Pokemon Fire Red

    So I have a question that's simple yet at the same time not so much.

    What's the best way to create/insert animated Pokemon sprites in Fire Red? (Best being glitch free.) I know there are a few threads already created on this but which one is the best? Which one still has the tools available? Thank you.
     
    hmm, they should all be done the same way, but are all probably different in explanation. For confirmation, you should link all the posts you're referring to and I can tell you which way is best.

    The problem I remember is that they all have this bug where if you exit the menu during battle the sprites re-animate all over again (I assume they are the same routine as you say).

    I can't even get this one to work because all of Chaos Rush's second frame sprites are down for Fire Red. :/ https://www.pokecommunity.com/posts/5909266/

    Is there a better method than this or a fix to this glitch? Does anyone know where I can get a hold of these second frame sprites again (Since the link to the images are down on that thread)?

    The way you linked is the best way if you wish to have static animation frames for each Pokemon. To copy EM's behaviour, you'll need a small wrapper function which essentially will make it read from a table instead of just one. GL :)

    I am willing to put the effort in to make this work. Has anyone created this necessary function that you are referring to (I thought that the linked routine already did this)? Also, what does Emerald do to make sprites not reanimate when exiting the bag?

    Does anyone have a copy of the second frame Fire Red sprites from Chaos Rush still?
