Animated Title Screen?

I've been looking around, trying to figure out the best way to go about this. In the notes it says this can be accomplished using gifs, but from my understanding gifs tend to be laggy in Essentials. My question is, does that problem occur with the title screen? If so, then what would be the most efficient method to animate the title screen? I know that in CNG's old starter kit he had a script that animated pictures that were formatted like an autotile animation is, would that be possible?

Could always use the intro skip and make an evented title screen.

I've seen that before, but I don't know if that would suit my needs. What I'm looking for is something where I can make a loop similar to the one used in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.
